We loved this museum. It was a great beginning to our two month long Alaska vacation. We really enjoyed the hour long film of Building the Alaska Highway. We would love to k ow the name of it. Is it the same as the PBS video of the same name?

I came from Grande Prairie, AB and to while away the hours, I stopped by the Tourism Dawson Creek. Which houses a beautiful museum. It was fun. Small and cozy on two floors. They ask for donations which I think is okay by the way. The staff are friendly and lovely. Did not know about the Mile 0 Alaska Highway until I came here. Especially how the overland route to Alaska was constructed by the US Army Engineers in the spring of 1942 during World War 2 at a cost of $140 million. Dawson Creek is a city of history. The Tourism center has wheel chair accessibility and a public washroom.

Had a very long day of driving and looking forward to coming here to get our Alaska highway certificates only to find out it closes at 4pm, all of our experiences with visitor centres have had closing times of 5pm or later, so to find this one closes so early is very disappointing and for a place of such significance of being mile 0 of the Alaskan highway.
