Well my first visit was absolutely perfect the staff was very friendly and service was super. I ordered shrimp tacos it was fast and so fresh and full of awesome flavors. They were so wonderful I went back the second night as I will tonight. I fully recommend this little hidden gem, I am away from home and I tell you they made me forget for a short while I was not at home... So if you want a awesome dinning experience head out and enjoy. Usually I don't need to season my restaurant food, but I ordered Boston clam chowder n beyond the salt from the crackers I had to use more than usual pepper. Now the ribeye was perfectly done, but there was to much fat n grissle for someone that likes a good chunk of meat. Also I hate to say the fries were way too greesy. The 90 I spent was I feel to much for fat. We had a lovely server though.

Friendly place and the service is great but the steak is never cooked properly which is unfortunate for a steakhouse. Most tables have a weird sticky finish on them even after a fresh cleaning. Accompanying this is extremely high prices so you would be best off to try another restaurant in the area.

Local or visiting, this is a worthwhile stop for a casual yet tasty dinner. A steakhouse geberally makes you think serious and maybe even stuffy or formal. Sometimes you want that, depending on the type of event. And sometimes you want the food of a steak house without all that ... Mr Mike's is the perfect balance of casual and family atmosphere, with the sophisticated menu.

More of a place to drink rather then eat, food a little on the high side, ordered a hamburger and pop, with no gravy, but the gravy came any way, no one came by for a refill are any thing, just the bill. Thought I would get a way cheep this time, small gravy 2.99 lol fountain pop 3.60. burger and a small hand full of fries 16.50 witch on menu sad 12.99. Funny your food takes a long long time to come when your drinking and faster and bad service when you are not, ;(

First time We were there for dinner. Restaurant was not very busy. We ordered two items. One item was very good. But back ribs was awful! We tried to eat, but it was very dry and hard to swallow. We called server. She apologized and gave us several options. She was very polite, knowledgeable and professional. She made positive change of our decision. Extraordinary customer service. Food price is reasonable. Restaurant size is medium. It’s neat and clean. Washroom is ok. There are parking spots available including para parking. Highly recommend others to try this restaurant.

Definitely an enjoyable atmosphere for Kitimat. They have a decent selection of beer. I was a bit disappointed that they do not serve local beer but perhaps that's because they are a franchise establishment. The food is good and there is a wide selection. Pretty typical for a chain style restaurant. The staff were friendly and gave some good local recommendations.

Special dinner with the family. Celebrating year end accomplishments. Mr Mike's is one of the few places in FSJ to take a family for a nice quiet meal. Service was OK...on a FSJ standard...(Hit North Bar and Grill for awesome service 5???? - couldn't bring myself to give ???? on July 4th????). The food was typical although costly for what is provided. The Tomato Bruschetta and Steak Bites are highly recommended as appetizers. The Antler Ale is good too although the Mike's glassware is stupid...I get the marketing but they are seriously unwieldy...time for some classy glassware. Avoid the Gin Fizzle! Ugh sweet with little other flavour.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make our experience enjoyable. Kudos to them. The food needs a little work. I know times are hard but making the dishes smaller and charging more is not helpful to get through it. There are better ways to survive this. Even i can think of a few.

Hello food lover’s I just move here in FORT Mcmurray from Toronto 2 nights ago and this is my first takeout from a Steakhouse and my lord what a choice I have made Steaks and Shrimp is my favourite food to take out or in house dining,And at Mike’s I ordered PEPPERCORN SIRLOIN PASTA one of the best Steak pasta I ever tasted Steak pieces were cook to perfection that they melt in your mouth and pasta’s softness and letting you also taste tenderness oh boy heavenly To anyone asking for best Steakhouse in northern Alberta is without any flinching is MR.MIKES STEAKHOUSE CASUAL go and try and then give me a thumbs up and also to CHEF MR.BO GOOD NIGHT

Passing through GP for work and we stopped in for lunch here. My dish had a weird, chemical-like aftertaste. Not sure why. Couldn't finish it. Service was friendly and prompt though -- they took my meal off the bill and apologized. Was happy to pay and didn't really care, but they insisted. Nice! Was with a few friends and they had great meals there. So maybe next time I won't order a stir-fry at a steak joint. ????

I have been to Mr. Mikes quite a few times and have always enjoyed good food and good service. Tonight we had a family dinner to celebrate my mother-in-laws 83rd birthday, we had 10 different main courses, appetizers, and desserts. Each and every dish was delicious!!!! Our sever was incredible!! I am sorry I do not remember his name, because he went above and beyond in making our evening a very pleasant experience :) The extra special treatment the birthday girl received was awesome, thank-you :) :) :) I would highly recommend having a special occasion dinner at Mr. Mikes Fort St John Thank-you again Cindy H

We just moved to fsj and haven’t really made it out much, decided to try out Mr Mikes and we had the best experience dining out. Everyone was super friendly and polite, our waitress Krystina was awesome. She came by every couple minutes to make sure everything was alright and to check in to see if we needed anything. Hands down the best customer service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. We managed to track down a manager, to let him know how great our experience was. He was also super polite and friendly to chat with. Will be back, this place rocks!

Finally a Restraunt that can cook a perfect Steak! I stayed in kitimat for 5 days after eating at Mr Mikes the second night i went back every night of my stay. The 16oz Rib eye is so good im hooked, definately will make a special trip up again just for this place! Great staff Greay service!

We ordered a steak sandwich to go for a very hard working crew of 4 men working 13hrs a day at the Taylor Gas Plant . The steak received was cooked and cut into 4 pieces. The steak wasn't even shared equally, one man came up super short. It was more of an tester than a meal. Doesn't anyone give fair deals for meals anymore ? Or even make a man's meal and charge accordingly? The packaging and the cost to send a crew member to pick up the meals far exceeded the 100 plus billing and left the boys hungry ! In our opinion Not a place for Steak dinners .

Steak was ok. But they were out of house wine and then I ordered a second choice and she returned to say they were out of that as well. So my third choice, Chianti, i believe turned out to be extravagantly expensive. My bill was $25 above what I’d expect for a single person dining. Their prices are gouging and I’ll will definitely avoid this place due to overpricing of food and beverage.

Stopped here for lunch on a weekday. It was slow. We sat in the lounge. Attendance picked up as we were there as we were a bit early for lunch. Service was friendly and helpful. Environment was quiet, decently lit, and clean/modern. Washrooms were clean, well stocked, functional, and modern. Wait time for food was acceptable. Food was well prepared, and what I expected based on the menu. Overall, I enjoy the place and will return.

I made an order for pickup that included a can of coke, I don't usually order beverages, so I didn't realize I hadn't received it until an hour after getting my food when was craving said beverage. I called the restaurant back explaining the missing can of coke and the manager offered to drop it off at my hotel for me. I really appreciate the quality of service, even over a forgotten can of coke.

Had a great experience when we went. Food was fast, hot and tasty. Steak was great and cooked perfectly medium. Server was great. Only minor thing I would suggest is maybe having a ‘basket’ or something to bring salt, pepper, ketchup and other condiments related to the meals and sanitize after use. I am awful for asking for something, then realizing theres no S&P on the table... so I feel bad for asking more than once. Minor detail, though!

I’m giving 2 stars because our waiter was pleasant and my kids seemed to like their food(baby back ribs and sirloin steak-keto style). My husband took us here for my birthday yesterday and we both strongly regret ordering the pasta. I had a chicken pasta and he had a steak pasta. With the chicken, it was bland, just cut up chicken and a can of stewed tomatoes with some herbs and cheese on top. The steak in the other pasta was rubbery and chewy. These dishes should be removed from their menu that’s how flavourless they were. I was stoned and hungry and forgot the golden rule of never ordering pasta at a steak house. If you read this you have been warned, pasta bad.

Just haven’t been wow’ed by this restaurant at all. We’ve ordered 3 times and I find all of their food bland. Appetizers are decent though. It’s not necessarily this restaurant in particular, I just don’t care for the food at all. I would try them again only for a steak since they are a steakhouse, but otherwise, we won’t be back. I should add however that the service was always good. No complaints there.

Had the worst meal of the year from this place yesterday, had the Asian stir-fry it was a pile of noodles all stuck together with a bunch of dried out tasteless vegetables and gross chicken with no sauce, the wife's burger was the most underwhelming burgers I have ever seen, it looked like a boiled burger on a stale bun with nothing on top. Mr Mike's shoild be ashamed of the slop we got, they will never see my shadow again.

Came for an early supper. Staff is super friendly, restaurant was clean, and the food was DELICIOUS. We had the lobster dunk appetizer (best tortilla chip dip we've ever eaten) and 6oz steak with onion rings and lobster Mac and cheese. My steak was ordered rare and came cooked just right. Hubby ordered medium well and his was also cooked perfectly. We had the apple pie for dessert and I'm glad we only ordered one because it is huge - and the best apple pie we've ever had. The server forgot about the Monte Cristo coffee we ordered with dessert, but it was so tasty it made up for the tardiness. Definitely worth the money.

After hearing mixed reviews I decided to take the wife out and try it for ourselves. I was told the place had a rough opening, which most restaurants do, so I was blown away by how clean, quiet and professional this place felt. It feels high end and casual. A very comfortable experience. One of the cool things about Mr Mike's is that they have a number of board games and table top games to play like battleship and Jenga. We ate on the restaurant side and it was quiet, but not too quiet, with top 100 music playing throughout the bar. We were seated and served our menus and drinks relatively quick. The general manager came over and asked us how things were going and it we were satisfied so far. He was very professional and friendly. The food was fantastic. We ordered the hot wings and the honey sriracha wings. Both were delicious. We also ordered the Mike's Bourbon BBQ burger with the garlic parmesan fries. It was made perfectly. The onion ring on the burger and the fries were crispy, the burger was juicy and the buns were made just right. I can't wait to come back and try the desserts. Overall it was a great experience. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere

Came during lunch when they only had waiter in!! She handled it so well and let me know that they’re trying their best to get to everyone but I may have to wait a little while. They eventually got another waiter in and he was super helpful! Got my order right away and was very calm and had great customer service! Both were an older gentleman and woman and they just took it so well! Food came in about 15 minutes which was perfect. I got the Mac n’ Cheese and a side of garlic Parmesan fries. Not the biggest fan of the fries. I found them very greasy and it just seemed like it was immersed in the oil. The garlic Parmesan combo was not as great as I thought it would taste but that’s just me personally. Maybe it’s cuz the Mac N Cheese already had that garlic salt taste so the fries were not complementary. Mac N Cheese was great! Ate it all and was fulfilling! Overall, my experience was wonderful and the place itself is quite nice and modern! ????

Waited 15 min for drink order(wasnt a third full) drinks came quickly and food time was reasonable. Except rare steak was past blue closer to seared with a torch and served. Wife's steak oscar tasted like the same pan was used prior for butter chicken. Overall the sides were the only thing deserving of the second star. Second bad experience here. Wont spend $100.00 for 3 meals there again!

Ordered two beers over happy hour and was told that I couldn’t get happy hours prices because that is only in the lounge. This is the first mr Mike’s to have that policy that I am aware of. The server and manager were very nice but the policy is not labeled in the happy hour menu or anywhere else and frankly doesn’t make sense.

I ordered the Butter chicken with Broccoli bowl. It came with literally a few dry on one side chunks of chicken. The sauce was good. However, it shouldn't be called butter chicken with the tiny amount of chicken that went in. And yes, I did let the server know and she offered to take it back but I simply wanted to eat. My wife ordered the Garden burger and the only topping was one leaf of lettuce no ketchup or mustard. Didn't even bring or offer ketchup to begin with. For the price MMS charges maybe they could offer more than what is given.

I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Mr. Mikes in Dauphin. We visited them on Saturday afternoon. I have a dietary restriction and asked the server about the ingredients of several dishes. The Chef came to our table and we discussed my options. I was very pleased with the result. The food was fresh and tasted very very good. Food was great, host was great, service was lacking... possible to be a 4 star review, but... server took a while to even come to our table, it was another hostess who took our drink order. I'm not sure I felt welcome by the server, like it was a burden to serve us. Our server had passed by our table and asked how our food was a couple times, decent, no issue there, but when asked for the bill we waited a good 15 minutes before getting up to ask for the bill again. Food was great, we had 2 appys, 3 steaks, and 1 China town stir-fry, all food came out as ordered, I even asked the host to pass on the compliments to the cooks. Overall it was a great meal.

Never again, I take back all the good things I have said, I went in on Thursday and sat at the bar, the guy serving me was brutal, took 15 mins to get a menu, finished my drink, ordered another one and he forgot, so I went in on Saturday to give it a 2nd chance, bad idea, the service was decent but my burger showed up with my appetizer, so by the time I got to it, it was cold and gross, not worth the hassle, ho elsewhere

Our most recent dining experience at Mr. Mikes is what made me decide to review it, specifically the chicken wings. I will eat basically anything other than steaming excrement and be perfectly happy, so for restaurant food to rile me up enough to post a review on the internet it has to be pretty bad. Tonight the wings were not only slimy inside and luke-warm, they were insultingly small and bony, like the bones of a cat or a quail. One piece was approximately 3/4" long and consisted of bone, cartilage and skin, with no meat. All of the wings had a watery inside-of-the-freezer taste, I suspect they had been removed from the fryer a little too soon. More than half of the middle wing pieces (the best ones!) had the little bones smashed or broken, so that small pieces of bone would be guaranteed to make it into your mouth on almost every bite. Overall it was not the worst chicken wing experience I've had in my life, but it was far from the best. With the limited choices of restaurants in Kitimat I can't say that we won't be back, but I will seriously consider going elsewhere before returning to Mr. Mikes.
