I always enjoy shopping at this location! The staff & especially the security guard, are always friendly & have a smile on their faces while doing their jobs! If you can't find it, they either show you were it's located; or tell you it's out of stock till a certain time of the week!

As I browsed and took my time selecting products I found interesting, I was approached by two staff members who treated my like they were police officers and I was a wanted criminal. I was about to put a few things I found not essential for todays purchases and this is when they took my items and walked me to the teller as if I were an unwelcome customer. I am a mixed race female who has been mistreated by the male Caucasian save on foods staff in the past. Perhaps, my recent misfortunes of heat stroke and being hooked up to IVs made me appear as if I were a junkie, but I was embarrassed and brought to tears by the ignorance of such rude self-righteous "management".

Was nice to see a friendly face in the grocery aisle (thank you Dale) but the cashier well now, I think she must have been having a rough day.....instead of politely asking me to move my own cloth reusable grocery bag she raised her voice in a not so nice tone. One thing I can say is I won't go thru her till again no matter how much longer I may have to wait.

Nice store and saw some very good prices. Although I did notice when I was looking at turkeys that the turkeys that were a bit bigger than the 12.5 lb. That I bought. I bought for a special price, $.99 lb. Were selling for $1.29 lb. I don't understand this as they were the same. Just bigger. When I inquired why the difference in price I was told by the meat guy that they cost more because they're bigger. ??? That's how selling the by the pound works. If it's bigger you pay more. You don't raise the price. Am I missing something here Like? Like to know what gives.

Having shopped in Save-On-Foods in several cities I was absolutely appalled at the service here. On a weekend visit to Campbell River I managed to get two separate poor customer service situations. First time I tried to use the self checkout. The first item would not recognize I had put it in the bag. So I stood there looking around for anyone with the red light flashing on my checkout. There was no one at customer service and no one working the self checkouts. Finally a security guard walked by and looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and walked on. I went through the lineup at another terminal, and exited...noticing my self checkout terminal still flashing unattended with no one around. Second time I bought alcohol and had to wait at the checkout. There was only one checkout open. Again I noted no one at customer service. I waited and waited as the cashier dealt with two customers clearly taking time. She made no effort to call extra help, and to my surprise I noted several employees walk by during this time and no one seemed to care. When I reached her finally I expressed how poor the service was and poor service on a previous visit. She showed complete apathy. She called someone else over to ring me in because apparently she couldn’t. I told Al - Assistant Operations Manager how terrible I found the service. Again I was met with complete apathy. I noted his name tag boasted 30 years of award winning service. As much as I’d like to pin this on a checked out employee, the previous cashier had told me that customer service was only open certain hours (hours she couldn’t even confidently express). So clearly owner/management has made it clear on how important customer service is at this location. This Save-On-Foods still has the same prices and selection you might expect. But someone should be fired to make room for someone who wants the job of running a store with pride.

Still don't think Grocery store should have a Wine Section . Miss some of the house brands (WF Salad dressing is better tasting than Kraft Miracle Whip and smaller containers of WF Coffee Whitener is soya based where as Coffeemate is Petroleum based).. I sometimes feel you don't promote your house brands enough !!!

The Pharmacy is terrible! so unhappy with the service, i will NEVER be back. I had a required medication that has to be taken Daily! and when i dropped it off i was informed they only had 10 and the remainder would be ready for me in the following week, upon my return Yesterday Nov 19,2018, first the girl had no clue what i was talking about, had to tell her over and over the same thing. then she looked in some bin where my paper had be put with ZERO FOLLOW-UP!! I was informed by the pharmacist that they had NONE on hand..... There was no call to me, or attempt made to get the product until i was present!!!!!! i had gone to Superstore where they had some and then i called back to the save-on pharmacy to get my dosage, only then did the pharmacist inform me that she had found 4. no call was made to me, i had to call back. I have called 5 times today to get my husbands RX renewed and no answer, all i get is a machine!!! I will NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PHARMACY AGAIN!! THE SERVICE AT THE EVERY GREEN IS SECOND TO NONE, AND I AM ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF!! I am very angry about how i have been treated at this pharmacy, and it is not the first time.

My new go to for refilling large water jugs. Really like that the machine is in the back of the store and not right in the door way like other stores. You can take your time filling multiple jugs without being in the way of other customers. Lovely deli and produce options. Really nice local wine recommendations in store. Parking lot is a bit of a nightmare some times, but worth it.

I went into save on foods after purchasing a pack of cigarettes, I wanted too go buy something too eat ceaser salad and a bag of chips. I went into the chip isle and 2 of the workers came up too me and started WRONGFULLY accusing me of shoplifting. I don't steal, I hate theifs with a passion, they wouldn't let me purchase what I wanted and they asked me too leave, they cause me a bad anxiety/pankc attack.

I find Save On Foods prices to be higher than most stores. The last few times I have gone the smell is terrible. As soon as you walk in the odor of old stale seafood hits you and personally makes me feel nauseated. I also think.that the new wine area is a waste of a big chunk of square footage. There is such a huge presence of Security now that I feel it puts out a message that Campbell River isn't very safe especially to an oooii88utsider .EDIT : the smell seems to have improved from how it was before .It had been bad for quite some time I would say over a year but now the smell is pretty much non existent!

I went to the pharmacy to buy some insulin for a friend. She has type 1 diabetes requiring a surgically implanted insulin pump and a diabetic alert dog. She also has a business training diabetic alert dogs for others. She lives in Texas. Insulin is very expensive in the USA and she asked if we could buy some and ship it to her. A prescription is not required to buy this insulin in Canada. It can be sold as an over the counter medication. I went to the information window at the pharmacy and had one of the gentlemen confirm this. I told him my friend had been there in August and had purchased insulin. He then proceeded to tell me they do not keep record of who buys it because anyone can walk in and just buy it. He told me what products they had and I said I had to text her to find out what she needed and that I’d return in a moment. A different gentleman helped me at the prescription drop off window when I returned. He did not treat it like an over the counter medication. I was asked if I was diabetic. I told him it was for a friend. He asked for her pharmacare information. I said she’s American and doesn’t have phar macare and isn’t this available without a prescription? He then asked if he could see an empty vial or box from her so he could see what she’s using. He then cited ‘legalities’ for wanting this information and not wanting to attach his name to it. I told him it wasn’t possible to do that and he refused to sell me the insulin. Two employees in the same pharmacy contradicting each other. I was treated poorly and as if I was doing something wrong. That mans behaviour was unjustified and his response full of bullsh*t. My family will never spend another dime in these stores.
