Even though I'm located in BC, I chose this translation agency because it offered a better rate than local companies I inquired with. Madonna's service exceeded my expectations. Extremely Fast! I ordered a translation for my degree certificate in the morning. It had been done within an hour. The project manager was friendly and respond emails quickly. Once they certified the translation doc, they'll send a scanned copy through the email immediately. I do appreciate that because I only need the copy and mail to WES. For the original doc, you can choose to pickup or they mail to your address. Overall, I do recommend this agency to everybody.

A couple of weeks ago, I required a certified translation of a 1-page document from Latvian to English. I totally understand that Latvian is not one of the commonly requested languages, and it may be that TAO has perfected its translations from French or Spanish, but the quality of the translation from Latvian was abysmal. According to the document, TAO had subcontracted LexTrans Translation & Business Services from Ireland to do the translation. The one pager that I needed translated was a land registry certificate showing an ownership of an apartment, so a bunch of official headings, naming the property, the names of the persons who sold and who purchased the apartment, and the judge's seals - that's all. The translators clearly used an old template that included extra columns, extra headings, remnant personal information from another client for whom the template must have been created. Entire lines and sentences of my document were omitted. Words misspelled. Some not translated correctly to represent true translation. Garbage. I pointed out the very poor quality of the translation, corrected all the mistakes and sent them back to TAO asking for a revision of the document and assurances that my personal information would not be then shared to third parties (as a result of their carelessness and complete lack of proofreading). The document was returned to me, with no apology, and no such assurances. I responded by saying that I did expect and apology and am still awaiting the assurances regarding the safety of my personal information. Madonna replied with a "sorry for the inconvenience", here's your document. Umm, inconvenience? One cannot call their product of abysmal quality - that I had to correct, and a subsequent refusal of admitting a mistake, and a complete ignorance of me asking about assurances in not distributing my personal information, an inconvenience. All that was needed was a sincere apology (well, and proofreading the document before sending to the client) and saying that TAO would treat my information with care and due confidentiality. They did not provide such. The manager, prior to giving the "not true" response as I have seen for the other few negative reviews, is welcome to review the email thread between me and the TAO office; I'm happy to add it into this public review. Needless to say, I will not use or recommend TAO translations ever again, regardless of their quick turnaround time and reasonable prices - I do not discount those, but unless a quality translation is provided, they mean nothing. I will also notify the Land Registry office of Latvia that a violation of their client's privacy has taken place (i.e., the remnant information of another person, included in my translation), as well as that there may be a future breach into my records. They may not do much, but at least this information will be on a state file in case there's ever a case of identity theft. Update: the manager of the company reached out to me for additional information a couple of days after posting the review, with apologies and a refund for the one page that I had them translate.

It is a waste. You can not name it translation. I sent them a text and they translated it. The translation was exactly from Google Translate (word by word)... You can check what I am saying from the source and the first translation you emailed me , go and compare it with Google translate. The manager gave it to another translator to be fixed . It was not a true translation....Skipped sentences, words and phrases. The translator added new words or expressions from his own knowledge and they are not in the source text.

2020 update: Again, again and again. Trusted them in a rush and they manage to surprise me once more time. Had documents translated over night!, scanned and sent by email the same day. Thanks! Have trusted them twice already for my immigration paperwork and couldn't expect better service. Saying that they are fast doesn't make justice. The translations are most of the time accurate but otherwise you always have the chance to review your document before it is printed and certified. I don't know if there are cheaper alternatives in the GTA area but definitively not better service. Hopefully I don't need them anytime time soon for paperwork, but if I do, just a quick mail to Madonna and I know I can have the documents in less than 24 h sometimes. Kudos for the team!

I'm actually disappointed that I have to leave this review. I came in with about 5 documents needed for translation for sponsorship and got them done very quickly. The receptionist was very nice and accommodating. However, upon taking our translated documents to an immigration consultant, we were told the packages would not be accepted by the government. As advertised on the website "the official documents we translate are accepted by Citizen and Immigration Canada". This is not true, as those packages require a certified copy in order to be accepted. What we got instead were cut off black and white photocopies of original documents that were NOT certified, even though I hand delivered the documents and their originals. Had I been informed that the price of $50 does not include the certified copy (which they imply in their ads) I would have paid extra. Additionally, they translated a document that had english in it and didn't actually require translation. When I emailed this agency with my complaints and gave them every opportunity to fix their errors they did not take the opportunity or even acknowledge that they essentially scammed my husband and I. Calling yourself the "Translation Agency of Ontario" implies that you are a trusted agency and your customers expect transparency and that when you say something is accepted by a governing body that includes the WHOLE package. We had to take our translations to a public notary and spend even more money and waste even more time. It's unfair to take advantage of people who are new to these processes and requirements. Do better to serve your customers accordingly.
