I can only echo what most reviewers have said about this company. My wife actually has a very good relationship with the frontline employees, the schedulers, BUT, she has not been paid for work dating back to November 2015. They say a cheque will arrive during the first week of December but we are not holding our breath. This company is so poorly run I can't understand how they can still be in business, yet, they seem to have some kind of semi-monopoly on interpreting services for the insurance industry. You'd think that would represent a licence to print money. There is a part of this equation that just doesn't add up. Google will not let me post a review without giving the company one star.

I wished I had read the google review before contacting them. I would have never used them. I called in May 2020 to ask for a quote for their "over the phone interpreting". I was quoted minimum of 20 minutes. It's about $2.00 per minute. this is their regular fee. there was no mentioning of a different fees during COVID19 at that time. When i received a quote via the email, the regular fees were all included. However, there was also a extra-line stating that "during COIVD19, all telephone or video appointments fee will replace the face to face appointments, therefore a face to face appointments will be charged. which mean this company is charging double for a regular over the phone interpreting. Wow.. A company with such value. Charge more when many are having a hard time. I never recommend this company to anyone! Please DO NOT use this company!

They take their money from insurance, but they do not feel like you deserve to be paid for your services. Many interpreters from our Korean community have stopped working for Able. I think other interpreters need to do the same. Many interpreters have not received their payments for many months. This person does not have any extension number etc. If you call reception and ask them can I talk to Ombudsman, the receptionist would not even know who is OMBUDSMAN. This person does not exists. Able is Canadian company,but their owners are Portuguese. Annabelle and Wilson Taxiera do not have any moral values. They do not respect anyone, All they care is MONEY MONEY MONEY. Horrible company to work for if you are a freelance interpreter. After accepting their translation assignments they never paid me. It is 2017 and I am still waiting for my payments from 2015. I've called, emailed, and even visited their head office but to no prevail. They make money by accepting the translation assignments from their clients while you get nothing. This Company contracted interpreters who are doing a very good job but never pays them after rendering the services. You will see in other reviews regarding the complaints of their interpreters. So if my relatives or friends will need a translations company, I will never recommend this company after knowing that they never paid their Interpreters for months and some of them for years now. This company breaks up translation projects into tiny parts and outsources them to multiple translators, then fails to pay even the smallest amount outstanding. They delay payment over and over and try to retain freelancers by promising payment and more work, but the payments never arrive.
