A few comments with regards to JR Language Translation Services:
The final deliverables are well done. That is something that I was pleased with. However, getting to that point was very rocky and I would like to see more careful detail review from JR Translation Services. For instance, if I was not already fluent in Italian, I would not have spotted out that my order had been first translated into Albanian rather than Italian as requested. Additionally, when my documentation was translated (one of which was a death certificate), the Italian was quite sloppy. As an example, for verbiage in English as "Date of Death," it was translated in Italian as, "Date of Birth" such that "Date of Birth" appeared twice on the translation.
Had I not been literate, I would have submitted to the Italian consulate extremely sloppy, lazy, incorrect work. I even provided a breakdown in microsoft word of all verbiage contained in one of the documents where the writing wasn't as legible to make it easier for the translator. This involved me doing most of the work, needing to perform an extremely careful review, and ending up having to go through multiple revisions with the translator because of their poor work the first five rounds. (Literally, we went through five drafts, which I understand if the wording is complex and one of my documents did have some medical terminology, but I had initially provided this information very clearly and legibly such that this should have been reduced to maybe two or three revisions).
I am not impressed with the translation ability. This requires a second or third pair of eyes. If you request any translation from JR, I recommend having a friend--if you are not already fluent in the language you are requesting--to read through the documentation before finalizing. Otherwise, you may get something that isn't even in the language you originally requested. And even if it is, there are likely to be elementary spelling and grammatical errors.
As stated, the stamped certified deliverable is nicely done. But I am not impressed with the process and multiple back and forths I needed to go through in order to ensure that my translations were done both well and accurately. That said, would I do JR Translation again? I might, but only because I am literate in the language I am requesting and because the deliverable in the end is what I am looking for. But prepare yourself for a headache if this is the case.
I am most likely to start looking around for a different provider for the remainder of my documents because this turned into such a hassle. The customer service was good, and end result came out the way I wanted, but the process and translation ability was unfortunately nothing short of atrocious. Needs to improve detail review skills and make sure to really review customer orders.
