This is one of the most stunning landscapes I have ever seen. The road is worth the drive. So the guides do not exaggerate. There are many hiking trails. Try not only the Skyline trail which might be pretty full in the season. I recommend the Kauzman trail. It is some kind of a drive on a dirt road but worth to visit. But the whole area is worth a stay of some days.

Cape Breton Island is connected to the rest of Nova Scotia by an easily accessed bridge. The scenery is spectacular but be prepared for chilly days even in the summer. Make sure that you drive the Cabot Trail. Allow a couple of days to truly appreciate the scenery. Be prepared to travel at 80 kph or less. Roads can be windy with few passing opportunities. Beware of driving after dusk of Moose on the roads. Slow down and savour each moment.

Wonderful landscape with hills, mountains, beaches and beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. There is a lot of nature and wildlife like coyotes, mooses and bald eagle that are a little bit common in the park. The only colors of the landscape are green and blue and that looks loke paradise.

The Cape Breton trail is delightful with the road twisting and turning as you watch the scenery unfold before you. Cape Breton is absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful. I happened to drive the length of Cabot Trail, with a few side tracks off the trail. If seeing nature is your thing, well on my trip I saw many Eagles, Moose, Deer, Beavers, and went out on a boat and saw Whales. There isn’t a large population in Cape Breton, so there is a lot of scenery unmarked by people. Along the trail there are places to stay on the shore, places to eat, and of course there are Tim Horton’s…my favorite being a medium double double, and no I am not Canadian, I am from the States, this is just something you will learn about the more often you go to a Tim Horton’s. Which, by the way, has the BEST coffee in North America. There are parts of Cape Breton that look like the coast of Ireland, with cliffs and unmarked shore, rolling hills, and beautiful lakes…there is just so much to see. Finally, if you love lobster, and you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for the sweetest lobster you will ever have, near the end of the trail, on the east side, there is a restaurant that serves an authentic lobster dinner. I can’t remember the name, but you won’t miss it because of the advertising in the area… Cape Breton is truly worth a visit…just breathtakingly beautiful and unspoiled by humankind.

Wow. We only had 2 days driving here but I would definitely return doing a motorcycle trip, hiking/camping trip and easily spend multiple days. We ended up going counter-cloclwise against all advice a d still had amazing views. You can't go wrong either way. Skyline trail and Middle Head Trail are a top recommendation. Ingonish beach and Green Cove look off are amazing as well. No disappointments to be had. Sunsets on the west coast are ridiculous, same for sunrises on the east coast. Treat yourself to some Canadian Gold and do this.

This is truly a thing of greatness. Cape Breton, I've lived and loved this is land my whole life. The wonderful thing about the island is that there is always something new to discover. You can drive half a hour and be in and around wilderness, or you can go to at a resort ten minutes down the road. I always wanted to take people to see the hidden gems, not just the fortress, but all the little treasures. Do some research on TripAdvisor and you can find some amazing places.

Visited and played both courses at Cabot Links and Cliffs. Both courses are bucket list tracks. I recommend hiring a caddie to enhance your experience. Highly recommended.

I went to Cape Breton last November 5-7, 2021. Although it is said that the best time to go there is during the fall season, still Cape Breton is spectacular on its own. We didn’t pay anything for any entrance fees cause it’s a national park. You just need to explore and enjoy the place itself. And it didn't disappoint us.

If only visiting, plan on spending a week, at least. The island boasts magnificent scenery along the Cabot Trail, world-class fly fishing, the only distillery of Scotch outside Scotland, and the world's only Gaelic University. If you're really adventurous, try to make it out to Meat Cove, an isolated spec on the far northeast coast, just to say you made it.

Cape Breton. Beautiful. Lots of interesting things on the Island from the Cabot Trail to Louisbourg. Ingonish is a super summer destination, with the new Gondolas at Cape Smokey. The Highlands National Park offers plenty of trails, waterfalls, beaches and camping. There is beautiful scenery everywhere.
