Quiet and peaceful day spent learning about the past practices harvesting the sea

Mike MacIsaac

Great museum with a bit of climbing and exploring for kids. Lots of old stuff in a setting that feels like being back in time. Great for tourists and locals. Only complaint is they desperately need AC

Gerry Suggitt

A little gem. Few people so you can get a personalized your from the knowledgeable girl working at the front desk.

(Translated) The quantity, variety and quality of artifacts in this museum are truly impressive. Definitely worth seeing for anyone who wants to learn more about the fishing industry in the area. Very interesting. It comprises a number of rooms and a two thirds real size fishing vessel which you can explore. Items on display may be held examined and played with carefully. Recommended.

Donna Crosby

I felt like walking into an old garage with all the stuff here. It was quite nice to see authentic stuff here that we could touch and thumb through. It is very tight and theres a lot of it. I've never seen a museum quite like this one.

Rhonda Clarke

Kids loved the scale ship they could go on.

Worth the visit if you're in town and have a bit of time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit as it's very small. However, that said, I absolutely would recommend going as the woman working there (blonde hair, recently returned to work) was incredibly passionate and informative- eager to give details about the different exhibits which was much appreciated. Great visit!

Tara Rebeiro

Wasn’t open.

Adrian Boudreau

Great museum but the air quality and circulation inside is a major problem.

Alexandra Lachance

(Translated) Not very long as a visit. The structure of the museum is well done, a mini village / company inside. However, there are a lot of objects everywhere, but there aren't really any descriptions or details. (Original) Pas très long comme visite. La structure du musée est bien faite, un mini village/ compagnie interieur. Toutefois, il y a beaucoup d'objets partout, mais il n'y a pas vraiment de descriptions ou de détails.

A real museum. No computer displays or interactive stuff just packed full of old shipping/fishing memorabilia. Fascinating place to spend an hour browsing our maritime history. It even smells old from the original wooden floors and old books. Just marvelous And the staff are knowledgeable about the collection and local history. Sorry to “gush” over it but I really enjoyed my visit today and I hope you do too

James Muise

The staff is very friendly. They treat all as if they are family. Come to see if you are from away or just live in Yarmouth.

Alex Cullen

Fascinating recreation of Sweeney business. Old buildings filled with artifacts of fishing. Very nice guide. Definitely worth an hour or so!
