Explored from the air ????
Nice place good fishing
Disc golf course could use tee pads
Drove to the Pittock Dam, it's a beautiful sight to see! Loved the disc golf course. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner.
Super place !!!
I like this site is nice place!
It was nice but a lot of bird poop by the beach area
Great facility
So beautiful
Great Family camping
Nice for Woodstock
It was a rainy, overcast day, but our family reunion kept us all involved and happy. We were at social area and we did not camp. Very large playground for children. Small landing areas to enter water among the weeds, so no open beach area to relax on, that I could see. Lotsa geese poop. Many areas to have private section to BBQ and set up picnic. Bathrooms need to be moderized as they are dated and open to bugs and spiders. Beautiful large trees for shading, I am sure, when the sun comes out.
Spacious, very well maintained, and a great place for day use! Slash pad and washrooms too
If you are going camping for an outdoor experience. This is not the place. 90 percent of the park seems to be seasonal camping with big trailers and motor homes. They have some sort of seasonal campers association. The park is situated between the lake and a rail line that has frequently passing trains 24 hours a day. The staff are not particularly helpful or even friendly. This biggest issue I had was. We drove to this conservation area a month prior to camping here. To book a camp site picked and paid for the camping. Then apon arriving we were told we were booked an a smaller campsite. Leaving us pinched in an undersized site with a trailer and 2 tents. Not worth the money.
Great boating and disc golf.
Decent lake front, but nothing much to do. Good picnic spot though.
Nice Park
Good perch fishing in the winter
Beautiful place to be alone..
Without a boat/canoe fishing is difficult from shore. To walk to dam for fishing as a senior & gate is locked, a dam too far. A bit pricey $91 two nights plus book online fee. No game fish either
Beautiful area for kayaking
Alright spot. Great paths on the south side running East to West.
Good for a small trek
Beautiful in fall :) maybe more trails and a map at street entrances?
Conservation is dated and needs major improvement. Transient campers are rude, don't watch their children and allow them to approach sites with a total disregard for social distancing. Security is 2 guys in a truck passing by once. Place is a joke.
If you like the smell of dead fish and want to roll the dice getting intestinal parisites, this is the lake for you.
Love the trails in Woodstock.
Camped here this weekend for the second time. Last year we camped in section 4, this year in section 3. The sites in section 4 are smaller than section 3, but they are closer the the pool, showers and play ground. Section 3 had a washroom very close as well, but it reeked of urine ( that is my only complaint). We really enjoyed fishing and spending time on the water. Bingo on Saturday evening, a band on Sunday evening, guided nature hike was on Friday and a turtle talk on Saturday. We will definitely be back next year.
Who knew this Hidden Gem was even here. I waited by the entrance for a friend to do an impromptu Car Photoshoot, so as to take only one car in to save money. Turns out entrance was free, free I tell you. Highly recommended, and well worth the drive if you're a Nature Lover. #DoubleWin????!
Amazing area going back tomorrow for a picnic
Beautiful but not a big place to hike
bad because even when the woodstock page shows as open it was closed on April 7th. All weekend ruined for somebodys incompetence
It's okay pretty out on Lake but wasn't having much success fishing
Wienerfest 2019 was held here! Well let me say it was so nice to have so much space, shade and water for the pups! The area was perfect! I can't wait to bring my babies, and family again next year to Wienerfest 2020 on Saturday June 27th!
Site was nice water right behind our site, up keep could be better.
we just visited pittock conservation area and it was wonderful. we planned a one day trip and couldn't believe how time just flew. It was really beautiful specially with the fall colors. They area was clean and fresh. Definitely a place to go with your family.
It's a busy conservation area, sites are pretty close. BUT, it's right on the water. Which is pretty cool. There's a pool and things for the kids like a splash pad. It's pretty much IN Woodstock, so everything's close. I managed to get my fishing licence in town and some worms. The kids sat out on the doc with me until the sun went down. We will go back. Note: it was windy the weekend we where there. Some campers had erected walls to help with the wind. If you're in a tent and relying on a fire to cook food, you might have a problem. It was so windy we where unable to have a fire or put our awning out. Still had a good time though. We'll be back for sure. Just something to consider.
Nice and refreshing place..❤
great spot to run, walk, bike, paddle. a healthy necessity in any community.
Nice long trail, great for walking, cycling, running...
Had a pleasant experience with my buddy Sam English and his Uncle Tim, who cooked up the world's best fries every night prior to the intense campfire songs.
Day use area is free and contains many shady old Maple trees. There's a splash pad and playground near a tiny manufactured beach. Water quality warnings tell you not to swim or fish here, yet most people visiting are swimming or fishing. Lots of sailboats and kayaks on the weekend.
Beautiful place.
Very disappointed this year after staying here many times in the past. The washrooms are filthy the floor flooded and no mopping has been done. Just a wet floor sign. The pool is closed and worker said the splash pad is open so we took our little people there to find half of the very few sprayers works and the pad is coved in Goose droppings. The shower in our section closed so we had to go to another section. To shower
Dirty, geese poop everywhere. Bathrooms were out of paper towel and disgusting. There is no beach to speak of almost.
Large conservation area and camp ground. Great for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Good place to launch a smaller motorboat for water skiing, tubing, sailing, fishing etc. Both sites I've rented have not had sewer hookup for campers. (But did have a dumping station on the way out). And the pool and some of the showers are not currently open. Large shady sites though with nice firepits. Overall great place to camp with the family and decently maintained. Have been a repeat camper here.
Lovely
Great place
Such a beautiful place.
This place is absolutely disgusting Please avoid if you can Dead fish everywhere Smells terrible Definitely contaminated water
Best of both worlds...there is a nice paved section of the trail that leads along the lake, and for the brave at heart, it turns into a gravel trail around half way down the lake. Great place for young families and pets. Safe for children to try out their skateboard, ripstick, roller blades, etc skills.
May 27, 2021. There are dead carp and other species everywhere along side the shore lines, must be something in the water. Do not swim or let your dog drink the water.
the water gave me type 17 zikaidstism
It was very good!
It’s not the not affordable place if you want to go to it often. And it actually is cheaper to drive in the lab it is to walk in if you’re in a group of 3 or more. I would have thought they could make the walking in price lower since they have little parking and to encourage more people to walk in. There are some nice trails, the lake, frisbee golf and a gazebo you can book. Overall it feels like the park belongs to the seasonal campers that are there in their mobile homes etc.
It's really nice. I think it needs more maintenance. Overall and after this virus, it's really relaxing
Very beautiful well kept park with an amazing trail that goes all the way to Roth Park here in Woodstock. Here they have to the right a day area with a play group a splash pad many picnic tables its quite has public bathroom i believe they are now open to the public. To their left is the camping grounds and there is so much to that side i recommend that you come visit get a map and discover your next family adventures.
Peaceful place
Great walking trails.
Cold but chilly day dont enter its closed
Very nice Park. Parking is plentiful and lots to do.
Great place to spend a summer day with your kids.
Such a beautiful park. I love the Disc Golf course
Nice place for quick visit
Great place for the Dragon Boat races but the splash pad needs to be upgraded to a newer and bigger model, Washrooms need to be renovated as the toilets and urinals are cracked and the building is full of spiders, bugs, and cobwebs! Some ground sprays on the splash pad were not working and there was dog poop on the splash pad! And the splash pad is pretty boring! And everything in the north shore area, the Washrooms, the splash pad, the beach is E Coli central just waiting to happen! Oh and the splash pad, your grandma's one has higher pressure!
Grose water, no swimming.
Amazing natural place. Lake is awesome for many activities. Kids play zone and more
It's honestly a beautiful place to go! Admission is cheap and the grounds are well kept and beautiful. We went exploring and found a few paths around the place and some great hidden fishing spots. The swimming isn't anything to go crazy for as the water is kinda gross, but it's lake swimming so what more can you ask for! Overall if your looking for a great and scenic place to go with your family, Pittock should be top of the list!
Beautiful place to spend the day
It's a nice place to take the dogs
Good spot to bring the family fishing all year around
First time here, definitely not returning... But not completely the fault of the place. We got a "backcountry" site, should be renamed "walk in site". We are directly beside an active railway, it is so incredibly loud.. like a thunder storm is directly over top of us. The boats doing consistent speed runs is another annoyance. Wood costs an arm and a leg. Unless you want to carry bags in.
Beatiful place to go camping this was the best camping ground for my family this year
Was quiet and fun place to be
New trail on North side of Piddock. They have added a bridge over some of the wetland. It is quite hilly though, so not for the faint of heart.
One of our favorite simple pleasures
Awesome for family gatherings.
Wiener fest was at the park it was a good time
It's a beautiful place and Pittock Lake is a gem to Dragon Boat on. The Woodstock Dragon Boat Club uses this water all summer long! The Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is held here every August, the weekend after the Civic Holiday in the summer and it's always a wonderful event at a wonderful venue! Great job!
This is our favorite place to go for BBQ's and family get togethers. There is a water park for the kids, a 2K frisbee golf course, fire pits, canoe rentals...you can spend all day here. Campground as well if you play that way!
Very nice park. From inside, it looks like it's situated somewhere farther north, but it's essentially within the city of Woodstock. There's overnight camping available for tents as well as trailers.
Great place for camping
Nice and close home, there's two boat ramps and it's a nice place for boating
Nice fun place for family...
A very nice picnic place... A hidden gem. Huge park by the water so plenty of space for kids to play and adults to relax.
This place is huge. Lots of trails. Very friendly staff.
Close to the city but the feel of the rustic outdoors. A clean taken care of park. Very friendly an helpful people staff and regulars. Nice lake to fish in. The store was not that great it only sold wood and ice on weekends not during the week. The sues were close together but because of covid spacing I was okay. There was a nice trail and a swim area. It was a nice alternative getaway.
Great place to get outdoors and enjoy the scenery.
Great place for relaxing in the nature
Participated in the Rotary Dragon boat festival at Pittock. The lake is nice for paddling and the grounds are large with a setup for disc golf and volleyball. I would not recommend camping because of the proximity of the train tracks and the frequency of freight trains going by.
Wonderful place to relax, staff is helpful
It's ok. I'm sorry I can not give a good review. This place is packed in like sardines. No privacy space. Nope I can't camp here. I hope I'm wrong about the rest of the park. I truly do. But from what I've seen of it. I really hope I'm wrong.
We camped in Section 3 last w/e with a 25’ trailer. Site was large, plenty of space between adjoining campers. Electric/water hook up located centrally between sites, odd # sites need extra long water hose! Staff is friendly, grounds are very well maintained, security patrol regularly. Rail line runs along the park’s northern edge but train noise is minimal. Enjoyed cycling the Husky Loop trail and down gravel roads to the dam. Canoe rental rates a bit high, will take our own next time.
Wonderful place !! :)
Seriously under utilized conservation area. Park staff has always been great and the wide open green spaces and water are often completely empty when I'm there.
Quiet and serene place with very less people. Suitable for fishing and cycling. Only negative being the stinking restroom.
Cool place for kids and families to enjoy the summer
Was here for a bike race. Great natural terrain and looked to be well kept. Parking was tight; but who cares?
I really like the trail systems that make up the Pittock Conservation area and so does my dog. The trails are well maintained and are great for long or short hikes.
Great for walks, you can even walk across the dam. Frisbee hockey course is fun. Free access to day area.
Large park by the water with a mini water park and washrooms. We come here every year for the Woodstock dragonboat regatta. The regatta is very well run - I was very impressed how efficient they were with getting the times up on the board. The race course isn't very deep and the lanes aren't very wide - so slower waters and lots of potential for wash riding. We had great weather this week - there are areas with trees that provide shade as well.
Nice and quite to sit and read and relax, beautiful to walk to trail.
Great family place to hang around
Great place for a BBQ family picnic
A beautiful day fishing and relaxing
The lake is dirty in late summer. No swimming recommend. No good for kids and animals. The camping is really good.
Terrible place for family outing at least in the day use area beach is unusable as it is filled with fishing poles and drinkers. Was there today and police were called because of altercation between lady with kids and some drunk fisherman on the beach. Took my son to play disc golf and found cars parked amongst the holes splash pad was off and sucked anyway. Playground was ok other than the group of people smoking 4 foot tall hooka next to it. Save your time and money and try somewhere else.
Great place to camp
Lovely picnic area
We tried using the Day Use Area to launch my son's kayak, but the entire area was covered in Goose poop!! It was disgusting! I will not be going back!!
Nice trails
Very nice place
Today on the trail it was a beautiful autumn day, with the sun shining through the colored leaves on the trees
The scenery was amazing but the wind is insane for the disc golf course. I cannot imagine how many lost discs are in the 5 foot fall roughs. I lost two discs.
Its alright for overnight camping.. grounds are clean.. the store closes really early and I find the staff at the front gate kind of rude. I stayed this weekend and the girl working was really ignorant, kind of annoying when you pay to stay somewhere.
Great campground with a nice disc golf course
Should be clean little more
Great place alot of trails nice view of the lake sides. It's great for boating and camping injoy your time here alot to do trails take along time it was great. Time well spent.
Excellent for camping and fishing, lot of pike and bass. Friendly staff
My mother inlaw camps there
Nice xctry ski
Great place for small children
it's a really nice place but there is a railway track right beside the park very loud
The staff was very unknowledgeable about the conservation area and the questions I asked, they also had my booking wrong so I had to leave a day early and if you like a train running past on the hour that shakes the ground all night long and a house survey going in as you leave the gates then maybe this is the place for you ....me I will never go back
Nice place to relax and unwind
Long lake with good deep water for canoeing in the summer. Upstream leads into the Thames River for another 2km before it gets shallow.
Lovely. Sad the water had EColi
Very nice camping area
Getting back to nature until the train rumbles past
Had a great time catching g and releasing catfish
If I could leave a negative 1 I would. Multiple groups of young people in the campground, playing loud music, yelling, swearing and partying all day. Do not come here if you want to relax. I haven't even mentioned the trains running all night.
Amazing time gonna be back
Nice, clean and washrooms open
A nice peaceful park for picnic, fishing and kayak.
Close to town and the scenery is wonderful
Beautiful
Quiet park beautiful views
Called to inquire about the RV dump hours. I was there a few days ago and paid $14, called again today and was now quoted $50. Very extreme increase in price for a very simple service. The girl on the phone would not give her name and immediately hung up on me after I began asking questions. She said she had worked there 3 years... I stay at many campgrounds and use many facilities. By far the worst and least helpful customer service I have ever received at a campground.
Nice and clean park to barbecue and swim .clean
Very clean, with grass all trimmed up with beach area attended to. Enjoyed spending a few hours here today and definitely plan on returning.
I have a seasonal trailer at Pittock . First season here . So far enjoying the conservation area . Access to fishing at or on the lake . 2 boat launches also .
It's ok
Oxford County's Hidden Jem for transient camping.
I really liked camping here with the family the water was directly behind the campsite
Lot fun.
Stay this weekend section 3 bathroom terrible no showers. Stay at wildwood ten times better cleaner nicer
????????????????????
Great place to go with the family! Awesome for a stroll.
Very nice and clean
Pleasant park with less crowd ????
Quite place.
No swimming in the beach but a great playground and very quiet area. Free for day use. But you have to pay for camping. Camping section is totally seperate.
Great place to fish, bike, hike , kayak and picnic. Lots of parking and day visit doesn't have a charge. Dam gets stinky when walking on it but views are amazing. Splash pad is decent. Lots of tables in case you want to BBQ.
The disc golf course is fantastic.
Very clean area and nice small lake. You cannot go in the lake because of high bacteria content. You can fish all day long.
Not a very good fishing lake now.
Great place for a quick getaway.
