REVIEWS OF Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum IN Woodstock

Enjoyed this Ingersoll community museum so much! The guide was very knowledgeable, and the artifacts were endlessly fascinating. The cheese history delighted us no end, and the factory mockup was very educational, with some moving parts to really show what goes into cheese making. The replica giant cheese wheel was all I hoped for, as you can see in the fun photo I got to take. Highly recommended.

Sheer Serendipity!!! What an amazing experience, history without histrionics. Scott made our 2 hour tour simply amazing. We learnt about 19th century cheese and butter making processes, about how Ingersoll came to be known as the Diary Capital of Canada, we even learnt about Laura Secord. The kids then had a blast running around the grounds of the museum playing cheese bingo. Thank You Scott and the Town of Ingersoll

Very informative

Did a great tour of this local museum! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. And I liked that they also had local cheeses available for purchase. We found out so many interesting things about the cheese capital of Canada! Younger kids might not find it as fun since it's not very interactive. Great to see the history of the place and learn about the cheese making process, however.

Really nice of Jennifer to give us a free tour of one of the 3 main buildings - didn't have time for the main museum part, but hope to be back someday!

I wish I had read Mike Wilson's review before attempting to visit on Saturday afternoon, Jan 27 2018. Website and Google business listing both reported the museum as open but the property was deserted on arrival. Now I'm left to wander the earth ignorant about cheese.

The Ingersoll museum consists of 3 buildings which house displays of the agricultural history of the area. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. There is also a city park adjacent to the museum property which is perfect for letting younger ones run off energy in the Cheese themed playground or just a quiet picnic lunch.

Today i dropped off more interesting artifacts from my family's history and saw the sign from my Great Grandfather's tobacco and comfectionary store that I donated a year ago... on display. I can now share a photo with family members across Canada. Thank you to the staff of the Museum.

I really enjoyed visiting this place and will definitely go again sometime. There's not a whole lot to interest young kids, and it's definitely not a hands-on kind of place, but my kids enjoyed looking at everything. There's a good selection of lots of different types of things, plus a 20-minute video about cheese-making, which was very interesting. There is a HUGE wooden carving/sculpture of a group of wagon trains, which is absolutely beautiful and it's worth visiting to see that alone. The display is so delicate it looks like some of it is made of paper. I have to say that it's one of the most amazing works of craft I've ever seen. They have several buildings, including a school house, blacksmith's, and the cheese factory, as well as the main building. It's not a big place, but it's very well organized and presented.

I am truly impressed with the efforts Ingersoll has put into tourism. This museum includes a number of outbuildings like a blacksmith shop and cheese factory. I visited during a WW1 re-enactment. It was fun. I think I will stay at the campground someday.

Take a walk down the history lane of the Mammoth Wheel of Cheese and how Ingersoll got on the map for cheese making and dairy farming. You must visit.

Website lies, They are not open in winter. This website says it is open today Sunday, Jan. 21. Beautiful day for a day trip, so we went. We drove almost 2hrs to see it, only to find they weren't open. Big, costly waste of time. A huge disappointment. I don't know if management will read this, but if they do... "YOU JERKS OWE ME GAS MONEY!!!"

Super Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Get a tour of the cheese factory. Majority of the equipment still works and they'll run it for you. Yes you can buy local cheese here, they only stock a mini fridge with it so choices are limited. You can have a picnic lunch or dinner at Victoria park just behind the museum. A nice break from the 401

Really well done presentations in cheese and school house and main buildings. There is a single amazing life work carving in the main building that took a person 13 years to carve. World class carving absolutely amazing find at a small museum

You can't really call a run down shed a museum. Old and deserted, not a single personnel on site, no visitors either. Don't waste your time.
