Could not believe what I was seeing during my visit!! A Mossy and Lanc being restored. Merlin engines just sitting there. Wheels, turrets, wings, canopy, all there for you to explore. Glad I saw the sign on the highway! I will be back! Small place, easy to find. Nice small gift shop. Clean restrooms. Was a real pleasure to visit.

Small museum. But one of the only museums ive ever been to that is actively restoring a plane where the public can watch and walk around it. The tour guide was excellent and explained all the work previously done on their lancaster and mosquito projects as well as the work to come.

Small but great place. My wife and I showed up about 45 minutes before closing and they happily gave us a tour. They have several restoration projects going and welcomed us to take as many pictures as we wanted. Also, all the work being done is by volunteers who are passionate about Canadan aviation history.

This is the place I creep going to. There is a lot to learn hear. Everyone is so nice they take the time to talk to you and they love being there. There is a lot but they need to get some avro arrow parts in that would be great for the city. But you need to go in and say hi they will love to see you

Bryan M

A great place to see historic aircraft up close and personal. Often times there are many people there that can tell you anything you want to know about the planes. On special occasions you can get the chance to go up in one! I reccomend joining as a member of only to support the work they do here. Worth a visit, plus the staff is amazing. Cant wait to see the Lancaster's progress.

A fantastic museum! They are a great group of dedicated volunteers restoring and preserving some very important WWII aircraft. I have been following their efforts to restore a Lancaster bomber (to static display condition) on Facebook and was glad to finally make the trip down to the museum. To see firsthand the great effort and hard work they are putting into that magnificent aircraft was quite overwhelming. While walking into the hanger for the first time, I was completely floored to discover that they also are in the midst of restoring a Mosquito bomber! It looks fantastic and I've already joined their Facebook group to get regular updates on it too. The museum also has plenty of flying aircraft in their collection as well. A DeHavilland Tiger Moth and a Chipmunk, a Boeing Stearman and a North American Harvard. All in all, I had a great visit and will definitely be back!

There are a lot of planes and history inside you will find yourself being ammused by the history around you especially the fighter planes every artifact tells it's own tail which will make you feel deluged to stay and hear about they are little group who are growing but with more support they can become the note takers of history there planes span from fighters to bombers they keep them in good condition and will answer and questions you may have I highly recommend this place for those with an interest in the war and planes along with those who want to understand the physics used to design planes of such lightness and speed

We were staying in Kingsville and came across a mention of this museum. We happened to go on a day that the volunteers were there restoring the planes. What an experience. I was really moved by how young many of the pilots would have been during the war and what they must have felt while flying the planes. The museum by the entrance had many interesting items, be sure to check out the neckscarf that doubled as a map. My only regret is that my grandfather (who built planes during the war) was not able to see this in his lifetime. He would have loved it.

Lucas Gerryts

Awesome Facility, Awesome planes, and Awesome people! Don't hesitate to talk to anybody walking around, they are kind and helpful!

Ronel Buzer

Go there. Just do it.

Incredible tour and viewing vintage airplanes being restored by talented and dedicated volunteers. Wonderful museum documenting the remarkable history of the airforce in Canada.

The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association is a real hidden gem. Located at the Windsor airport, the association, abbreviated CH2A, has an extensive collection of historically significant aircraft, mostly dating from the WWII era, including: a Boeing Stearman, a North American P-51 3/4 scale replica, a North American AT-6 Harvard Trainer, a DeHaviland Mosquito, an Avro Lancaster as well as a number of other aircraft and simulators of historical significance. The association also has an archive with a number of items of historical interest dating back to WWI. The CH2A staff are very friendly and full of interesting stories about the aircraft they so lovingly preserve. They love what they do and it shows. If you have any interest in the history of aviation in Canada the CH2A is an excellent place to go to learn. It would be the perfect place for a school field trip or to take your family for an afternoon to see firsthand how the intrepid aviators of the past defended our way of life and left a legacy that shaped aviation in Canada down to the present day. My advice to all who have any interest in Canadian aviation history is this: Visit the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association at your earliest convenience. You will not be disappointed.

The staff is great and I learned alot about the different planes that aided in both world wars, as well as the people involved. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in aviation, and kids would enjoy this as well.

Great place to learn sacrifices from the past wars. This place is awesome also the people's commitment

I attended with a Scout Group. The children and the adults enjoyed the museum. The planes in the hanger were a big hit. The kids (and myself), enjoyed the chance to sit in a gunner turret and sit in the cockpit of a jet. Highly recommended.

If you have any interest in aviation history and visiting the area (regardless of what side the river), the CHAA is worth the trip. Quite a few good folks dedicated to preserving, flying and teaching about the local RCAF history. Just seeing the Lancaster & Mosquito projects are impressive enough. (Note: The Commemorative Air Force doesn’t have squadrons in Canada, but I can attest from my visit that the CHAA are more active than even some CAF squadrons I’ve visited.) If you visit on the weekdays, you might want to call ahead to make sure they are open. I wish them the best.

I am already planning a return visit. They offer a tour which is included in the admission. Our tour guide was awesome. He was really knowledgeable and made each project seem so exciting (and trust me I am not really an airplane person), but he spoke with such enthusiasm, joy, and pride that it was contagious. Deeply moved. Highly recommend.
