Love this newly renovated museum. It tells many stories of Whitehorse and Yukon, modern or old. There are many things to see. Kids would love the animals section of the exhibitions. The staff were very informative. You can easily spend the whole day here. Visit this museum if you are visiting Whitehorse!

(Translated) Very nice, lovingly made museum with lots of information about the Yukon and Alaska Highway. Much technology from the last 100 years, many great animal preparations from the animals of the area. Extensive exhibition on the aborigines (First Nations). (Original) Sehr schönes, liebevoll gemachtes Museeum mit vielen Informationen über den Yukon und Alaska Highway. Great museum, something for everyone.

Tran Forsythe

_Well_ worth the admission price. The main building was still in the process of filling up with exhibits, but the museum is obviously well-loved by the staff and the town. Plus, since it's not polished, you can see offbeat, hilarious exhibits that wouldn't show in more matured museums. (eg: an old, hand-drawn map of the city with parodies of its more prominent inhabitants)

Richard Hardegger

Currently under renovation, but houses important history.

Tobias Staley

We only had an hour to see it as it closed at 4pm. Frankly it was not enough time for me. I could have done with another 30 mins to an hour. It some good exhibits especially the stuff around the gold rush.

Lovely museum, informative, I appreciated the indigenous information, and the info regarding the gold rush, and Robert Service home. Would definitely recommend a visit. We took about 2 hours to go through.

Decent museum at a decent price. At the time I visited, about 40% of the museum was being worked on in one form or another. But once they get it all more or less finished, it should be a five-star place. One note: Parking is tough. Most of the free spots seem to be taken up by locals. My suggestion: Go to the visitor center a few blocks away and ask for a parking pass. This will allow you to park at any metered parking space for free.

Amazing museum, when the new extension opens, it’ll be even better!

Honestly it’s pretty boring! Definitely not worth $10. They need more music, the silence is creepy. Also they definitely need more signs and eye catching displays and interactive stuff. Very small museum, you’ll learn more online! The animal room was the only redeeming part, super cool.

Shaikh Jasem

Pleasantly surprised with how the museum was super saturated with information in such a small space. Very impressive.

(Translated) Very well done and very interesting museum that teaches us a lot about the history of the Yukon and Whitehorse but also about local animals. It travels quite quickly. The museum is very clean and has an elevator to access the different floors. This an excellent museum of Yukon history. It has a particular focus on the Yukon Gold rush history 1890's to 1900's. Many historical artifacts are displayed. It also has a wonderful display of Yukon mammals. The children's programming is top notch. Yukon "theme" nights are presented and organized by the enthusiastic and knowledgable staff. Local musicians often perform during the theme nights and at other times. It is always a pleasant place to spend some time. Exhibits are often updated and expanded. MacBride has plans an expansion of their existing space in the near future.

I have no doubts this place is amazing, but it is closed from Dec 25th until Jan 4th so not exactly I was able to see any of it. No one bothered to update this holiday closure hours on Google or their website. At the time when all hotels in Whitehorse are packed with visitors, these guys took their sweet time off. You do have something to sell but there's still thing or two to learn about tourism industry and how to benefit of the tourists visiting Whitehorse.

Letícia Marcorin

This museum is fantastic. They have everything Yukon related. Art and history from of the first Nations, Arctic animals, history from the English colonization. They even have some old fur coats that you can try on to see how they dressed.

Klaus Ollmann

This museum is fantastic. Whoever is interested in the magnificent history of the Yukon and the Klondike should visit it and its magnitude of historic artifacts. I especially appreciated the unbelievable variety of gold samples with notes about the claims they were found on. As I had been invited to the claim of Joe Langevin on Victoria Creek and was allowed to shovel and pan there - Joe shared the findings afterwards with me back in the 70ies - I love my gold until today and was too happy to see the gold from other claims. Enjoy it as much as I did. Klaus Ollmann from Hamburg, Germany

(Translated) Great museum with nice exhibits. Unfortunately, many things are too hidden to be seen properly. But does not detract from the visit. We were there in July 2017 and were able to see the already very advanced new building - then the museum will definitely be a hit. (Original) Tolles Museum mit schönen Austellungsgegenständen. A very nice clean Museum with a limited amount of information on the Yukon area and vicinity. We only went in the inside exhibit so perhaps there was a lot more outside but although it was billed as a half a city block it was very open spacious and could have fit in half the space easily. Everything was nicely displayed well done well kept clean and neat.

MacBride Museum in town. The log building doesn’t look all that big, but the inside is crammed with displays that cover the history and culture of the area from the days of the First Nations people to the gold rush days, to the building and growth of Whitehorse. There is a display of indigenous animals that is really quite an amazing example of the art of taxidermy. Other displays tell often humorous stories of many Yukon characters. And speaking of characters, the museum houses the actual cabin built by Sam McGee who inspired Robert Service’s famous poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee”. This museum is a must see in Whitehorse.
