I love this park but unfortunately the park has been closed due to covid.
Saw it from a distance and it looked cool. Not worth paying $10 for parking, so we skipped the walk to it.
I entered from Douglas port of entry and it was really easy. The waiting time was around 20 mins which you could skip if you have Nexus or Fast pass.
Peace Arch is the US / Canadian border crossing for vehicles. Very beautiful place and quite suitable for picnic.
Its an average park. Be aware this park sits on an international boundary. Both US and Canada has their own entrances. Please check your route before you travel here. It is easy to end up at the ports of entry by mistake. If you have to come to this park, I recommend bringing a passport incase you accidently wind up at the port of entry and you end up sitting in their secondary for 30 mins to an hour while they determine your citizenship and status. For those living in the US and if you are in some sort of immigration limbo such as pending asylum claims, do not come near this park! If you accidently leave the US you risk self deporting yourself and automatically void the process you in and you may not be allowed to return to the US.
Brilliant place to see the US Border. Make sure you don't follow Google Maps, else you end up at the Immigration office of US Border!
Didn't actually get to go to the arch as the Park was closed, the turn around was closed, however I now have a very good story about the Border!!
While waiting in the sometimes 2 hour plus border crossing line, might as well hop out stretch your legs and enjoy the view.
What a great place! This place gives me an opportunity to see family who cannot cross into Canada, which is great for my daughter. We just stayed in the park and visited, and then left on the side we entered on. It was such a great experience!
Hands Across the Border 2019 was amazing...our first time going and by far not the last!!
This is a beautiful park that we Canadians share with our neighbors in the USA. Lots of field space, an ocean view, well kept landscaping throughout. The arch itself frames the area as a testament of peace between our nations.
Beautiful and clean park was a cool experience!
Beautiful park, well maintained and great for pictures. We came during COVID restrictions so no cars on the highway at all, so peaceful!
The monument looks great, grass has already nice and green. Too bad we never have the time to get out of the car and take some time to walk in the park and enjoy the beauty.
Wonderful place. The weather was perfect. Lots of people from both sides. BP are strict but cool sometimes .
Good historical place to visit with your family
It's a beautiful park all year round. Interesting historically and geographically, due to the location on the Canadian/USA border. Not to mention the ocean views. Nice bars and restaurants in Blaine within walking distance. (The U.S. side). You have to drive to get to the restaurants in White Rock, Canada.
Pretty spot to wait as you contemplate the border crossing ahead.
Nicely maintained park with great views. Great location to hang out or have a picnic
A beautiful place to visit right before crossing the border to Canada.
Beautiful waterfront park, fantastic flower gardens and designs. There were people picnicking, having business meetings, walking, etc… it’s so large that it wasn’t crowded. Very nice.
Lovely place but the wait times published are not very accurate..must keep a big margin
Love visiting Canada when I can. Border Officer was pleasant and process was quick because I had all documents and ArriveCAN ready and filled out.
Little unorganized on the line ups. There were 2 lines at the begining that turns into 5 lines but there were no clear defining lines as how the lines would split. Was in Line then realized the line next to us had nowhere to go (someone created their own lane?) so 15 cars cut into our lane! All the other lanes cars went thru quickly we ended up waiting also an hour of what was supposed to be a 20 mins wait! However, the official was very nice.
Great place to hang out. Picnic table walking trails. Huge park area available to enjoy. The gardens are always well maintained with colorful flowers. The train track passed right next to it, so that is a treat! Kids enjoy watching the train chug along. Great view of the water.
I loved this place. Very peaceful, and nice park.
Its a quite beautiful spot next to the water and surrounded by a big park. Only problem is if you get to enjoy this place is either because borders are closed or you were a back seater that got off the car waiting in the long line. For drivers, this is not a funny place (nor a peaceful one)
Cold but nice ???? ????
Very nice place to go with families! Picnic area, grass and fresh air!
Visited during our travels. Very pretty park.Nice piece of history for the grandkids to get to see.
US border officer was so gentle and helpful, as well as Canada border officers. Highly recommended ????????
Very cool park being on the US/Canada border. Well kept area and clean. Right next to the ocean with some good views.
What an amazing place with a lot of history. It's accessible from both sides of the border without having to cross.
Very well kept park! Was waiting to cross the border into Canada
**read this review before going to the arch** We didn’t realize you need to park your car and walk up to see the arch. Do NOT drive around it. You will be on the Canadian border and either have to be turned down from them to enter over or you will have you go through the US gates and hope they are as nice to you as they were us this morning!!
It was pretty, but very busy. Not ideal during covid times. Difficult to social distance, and only the rare individual wearing a mask.
I was touched! Even w park closed 75 feet into Canada
Good to see harmony between 2 nations. Don't miss a chance to meet your loved ones across border, during covid.. appreciate the initiative and harmony between two countries.
The Peace Arch, the only international gateway ever erected in the interest of peace among nations, was constructed on the boundary between Blaine, Washington and Douglas, British Columbia.
Beautiful historical place. Love the Canadian landscaping in the form of the flag. The entire park was incredibly clean. I was surprised but the only traces of litter I found, was bits of clamshells dropped from birds who had fished them out of the nearby bay.
I commonly get ladies who like to shop the Premium outlet store and enjoy the ride home in one of my cars back to Vancoover!! Way better than a train or bus and I don't mind stopping in wherever you like on the way home!
Both countries could do a better job getting people thru. The lines do not progress at the same rate which is the biggest frustration when sitting there watching the line next to you moving faster. One splits off into multiple lanes while the other does not. Once you do it you will know which is the better line. And going from Canada to U.S. side has a meter signal which is actually good cause it sends people on in groups so you don't have the car running for two hours. Going from U.S. to Canada does not have that. I have been a citizen of Washington state forever and born in Seattle. Have passports etc and the Canada guard guy is just plain rude and doesn't say a word when driving up. The U.S. side he at least says hi and what were you doing etc. Say something. Don't just stand there with your hand out. I have no idea what to do or say since its been 15 years since crossing last time. Could go on but they need to look at improving the crossing so people don't have to wait 2 hours and doing nexus is not worth it if crossing every 15 years.
Right at the heart of the busy peace arch border crossing. Good for barbeques. Camping is not permitted.
A unique spot that combines natural beauty and the opportunity for American's & Canadians to meet face to face in a tranquil setting and without much bureaucratic interferences. Spring through early fall also sees numerous sculptures installed throughout the park as well. All in all, a beautiful spot to relax no matter which side of the border you're from.
So glad I was able to see my family! Perfect spot not to far from amenities, so much space and they even have grills for people all you need is the charcoal and your food! Lots of space and shade tables and plenty of parking on the amarican side. Everyone is good about social distancing and the rangers keep a close eye making sure everyone is well informed. I would visit this place just enjoy the scenery. Thank you for keeping the treaty and allowing me to hold my family again!
Place perfect to have a stroll and in this lovely area. There's a park and picnic tables near by so you can enjoy a relaxing day. You can enjoy the evening watching the sunset with the sun reflecting on the water... Quite lovely!
Peace Arch is a unique and beautiful area that allows visitors from both sides of the Canada-USA border to experience and learn about over 200 years of friendly and harmonious relationship between the two countries. The highlight of the park is a 67 foot tall classical revival style arch bearing a resemblance to victory arches throughout the world (e.g., Arc de Triomphe). Peace Arch celebrates the peaceful shared boundary without walls between Canada and USA. Visitors forum both sides may visit and cross over the international boundary lines located within the park without having to show documents required at USA and Canadian ports of entry. Enjoy taking pictures and walking in the open field. US visitors should park in the Peace Arch parking area located to the north and east of the final US exit on I-5. A fee is required for paying longer than 15 minutes at the WA state park operated parking and picnic area. There are two or three free 15 minute parking spots at the far NW corner of the parking area. 15 minutes is long enough to quickly walk to the arch, take a few pictures, and walk back. A WA state park lobby is located just south of the 15 minute parking area. There are other facilities and attractions at the park like the American Kitchen hall (available for rent), gardens, sculptures, playground, picnic tables, a large play area. The park is adjacent to a Surrey, BC neighborhood. We were able to hold a conversation with Canadian residents of the neighborhood without crossing the boundary. One resident confirmed that it was cost on his side of the boundary.
This was a very cool place to visit! We can now say we visited all 4 corners of the US on the mainland. As well as AK, and HI! We are a Geocaching family and love to travel and explore! It was raining hard. But we ran out to the Arch to …
My mom and I made a stop before turning back around to head back to Bellingham. This was the best place to see the views of Canada without stepping out of the United States.
The USA part of the park was open during this time.
When you are waiting in long lines for the border, having a place for the kids to get out and burn off some energy is a huge blessing. It is fun to watch the kids race to see who can cross the border on foot first! There are some interesting echoes inside the arch.
Great date restaurant overlooking the water in Steveston. Great Cobb salad, grilled chicken. For those looking for a romantic dinner, or a great place to dine and watch a pretty sunset, you will not be disappointed.
Nice place! By the border Canada and USA (Vancouver) South Surrey You can barbecue! No trails Clean place and washrooms!
There were many people enjoying the Peace Arch Park when we walked out to the Peace Arch. The grounds are well kept and the Peace Arch is stunning.
Something that is memorable is worth remembering or likely to be remembered, because it is special or very enjoyable beautiful place to visit.
Border crossing between the US and Canada. The Peace Arch Park is a nice place to spend time. Beautiful scenery and if you're lucky you'd be able to do some yoga right there in the border lawn!
Beautiful day to sit at the arch. I give for stars, because I got stuck right as the next car and then they did a guard change over and o had to wait even longer.
Visited on a quiet weekday, so we were able to get good people-free images of the site. The lawn area was wonderful, and it was great to be able to stand with one foot in each country. A good opportunity to stretch legs too!
This is a great place to explore, so much history. Ourcrazeeadventure.com
Very nice park to visit. Both Canadian and US Law enforcement very friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely worth the time to visit
Love this beautiful park between Canada and the United States. The Peace Arch monument itself is really amazing and a visual testament to the friendship between the two countries. I've passed through this border many times and there are always people out and about in the park. Overall a really great park!
Someplace to see at the border between US and Canada. There's a nice picnic area for your family ro relax and enjoy the scenery, the beach , trains passing by, people crossing the border.
Great park. Wide open spaces. Clean and well kept. The Canada side isn't open right now but the peace arch and park on the US side is open and available to walk around
Great place!
Just absolutely amazing even if your not crossing into Canada there is a park that you can sit at as well
This place is OK but it’s weird that they don’t want they gates to ever close but then have the border flagged off. Might as well just close the gates lol
Beautiful park at the Canada-USA border crossing. Photos © Sanjib Dutta
Very well kept crossing park but MAN the waits are long in the summer. Would come again though, the officers were all super nice.
I came all the way from Texas to visit here and was nowhere near disappointed. The park is family friendly and absolutely beautiful.
Very cool but is difficult to get to durring covid they basically forced us to go into USA and have to wait in the inspection section for a hour to get back into Canada. It's annoying that they blocked off the road back to Canada
Beautiful park that does not require any documentation to visit. A great way to meet up with your American or Canadian friends in the middle. You can have a picnic or be part of a special event.
US/Canada boundary, it has a great view for sunset lover :)
CANADIANS: Bring your passport with you, KEEP IT ON YOU. If you cross over to the park without your passport, they make you walk to the actual border building and would have to quarantine. No signs to indicate to bring your passport, unfortunately people find out the hard way. Just a heads up!!! Otherwise great open space, great to picnic, no spot to buy food so bring your own!! Swings for kids and shady areas along with picnic tables. Canadians can park in the residential area and walk over to the field/park but DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!!!!!
great place to cross with the nexus pass for fast crossing or if waiting in line get out of car and cross via peace arch on foot!
Very well kept park. Very open and spacious! Parking on the Canadian side is a big pain as the parking lot isn't open, so you have to park in the residential streets. Get there early if you don't want to walk far to get to the park. Make sure to bring identification, because the border guards will check it before you return to your country.
We had a long wait crossing after the border reopened to US citizens but a beautiful view of the park!
Unfortunately the canadian side of park close by Canadian government, but American side opened and people in that side enjoy without mask .
Such a good place to visit. US-Canada Border
A unforgettable experience that you will cross Canada and the United States. So cool ????
I enjoyed my trip to Vancouver. Stanley Park, The Christmas Market was amazing. The food, atmosphere and beautiful displays were great.
Absolutely gorgeous and a beautiful site for a picnic or a day spent with family and friends.
Great park with lots of flowers. Being able to walk across the US/Canada border freely was pretty neat. The park on the Canadian side is also nice.
What a cool experience! We pulled into the parking lot for the park and met 3 CBP officers. One, a crossing agent, walked us to thebarch, gave all kinds of great stories and history, points of interest and what not to do.
Great location and scenic views
A great landmark to take a picture!!! People come out of their cars while they are on the line to pass the border. It is easier to take a picture from US side to Canada while you are inside the car.
It's a lovely green park, that allowed us to meet up with family from America. The view of the ocean was great. It was a lovely sunny day. A good time was had by all.
Beautiful landscaped border crossing. Driving into US, it appeared only one lane was open. Then at 8am a half dozen more lanes opened. This on a summer weekday.
Beautiful border, Canadian and US Customs had a really nice attitude compared to US Customs at the Mexico border
We hear this little park is a great place to bring a lunch and take in meaning in the summer months. Being that it was February and snowing, we enjoyed a brief moment to be continued at a later date!
Just a park before the US border with a monument of high arch in the Canadian side. Good for a walk without other facilities nearby.
I went down to see the peace arch and do application with US Immigration and I was totally harassed by Canada Customs coming back even though I never crossed the boarder and had a forms from the US Customs stating i did not attempt to enter the United States . The Americans where polite , helpful and respectful in every way . The Canadian Customs were disrespectful , and acted like a bunch of out of control drunken cowboys ready to lynch me . The held me over a hour even though i crossed no border . They thought they had El Chapo but in all reality they never get anyone for much . They need some training desperately .
I've passed this boarder many time. It's nice if the line is long and you can get out and stretch your legs a bit. Beyond that, nothing more.
Relaxing park. Kids could stand so one foot was in US and the other in Canada and get their picture taken while standing in 2 countries at once. Boarder Officers for both countries were professional and friendly.
Loved the amazing park. We had to show our passports to enter the park.
Please remember to research your country's boarder regulations before entering the park as Canada is much more strict than the United States. Also - it's always an awkward vibe because the wind bites pretty hard and makes the park cold a lot. On weekends its a couple fest and you can expect a lot of gross PDA. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go just for fun. Only go if you need to. Wear a mask!
Nice place to see Canada USA border...
It is very cute park and it is next to border Canada-USA. I crossed to Canada a few times and it is very busy you can spend here at least 20-25 mins to cross, and even the park it very busy, but beautiful. If you have a chance to visit this area, you should!
A beautiful park at Peace Arch right along the British Columbia, Canada and Washington State, USA border. Going north, The I-5 becomes Hwy 99 once you enter Canada and takes you into Vancouver. Going south, the I-5 will take you south thru Washington State, Oregon and California. The border is open 24/7. Signs will alert you to wait times.
A great wide area to have fun and have a walk.
Absolutely great & interesting spot for a picnic. Watch eagles soar & police checking boarder crossers & indigenous protestors Walk down to the rocky bayline & watch n Dodge trains running by the shoreline.
Pretty place, not much else to say though. I liked the two flags made if plants on the two sides of the arch. It was huge and I appreciate the historical significance but unless you like flowers and trees, there isnt much so some people may not want to make the trip. Glad I saw it though.
It's in between US & Canada border. Definitely worth a stop and get some pictures. The view from there is really good. Beautifully maintained. People are very friendly.
The iconic Peace Arch on.the Canada / USA border is a symbol of the enduring friendship between these two great countries. Maybe these gates never be closed...except for Covid-19...but the park itself is still open on both sides of the border. The British Columbia side is nicer but really, the highlight is the region between the two border crossings in the middle of the freeway. Always worth a visit.
A hidden gem most of just drive by. Did you know you can walk on both sides of the border?
The Canadian side of the park is closed. Presumably because of COVID? So it's a bit underwhelming. You can go a few feet past the arch and then there are signs saying CLOSED. The US side is open however, so Canadians park in the neighborhood and walk into the little park to visit US friends and family. The idea is so sweet.
First Time crossing the border. Definitely think it would of help to have passports. The Peach Arch is a beautiful site to enjoy while waiting in border patrol traffic!
Neat. Beautiful gardens and sculptures. Canada was closed
The Americans are great. SINCE Horgan put those poor parks employees out of work on the Canadian side, the Americans more than made up for it. Perhaps Washington state parks should run BC parks
I love this park, as a Canadian kid who loves America this is great, I come often. I don’t have a passport, but I brought my birth certificate and they said that was fine.
Lovely place great for family's, dogs, friends, they also have a smoking section. It's a gorgeous place, clean, well decorated. The place has beautiful views of the city and it has beautiful views of the ocean, it has views of both the usa and it's in Canada. It is also on the route to the usa boarder passing.
It's a beautiful park. It's worth stopping and taking a break. Canada's flower flag is so pretty. Ours needs more flowers or something. Nice bathrooms.
Beautiful park. The grounds and the adjacent gardens are well kept. Places to picnic.
Peace arch is the place for those who wants to enjoy a great historical place along with a great view loaded with flowers and also a border line up view. Restrooms are so cleaned. Very good place for family picnic. It's kind of all in one package place.
So well maintained and clean! Such a beautiful park! Thanks to those taking care of it.
Beautiful. Definitely it feel good to be on two countries at the same time. United States & Canada. Hope you guy's like it.
Interesting landmark on the border. The arch is interesting and the surrounding scenery is also fairly interesting. The park is a good place to stop and get out of the car before the long lines at border control.
My first time here. It was a nice and well kept area. I can see why someone who was not born in the United States would have deeper feelings about this place. My friend that was with me explained the history about the place.
Pretty Kool place to visit take pictures sight seeing etc. Even watching the incoming and outgoing people at the border
This 200 year old historic Peace Arch is massive and magnificent. It was well worth the stop and walking through the lovely gardens and seeing the sculptures tucked in among the flowers.
Saturday morning 6am we cross the border after 10 hr drive.thank you thank you
This is something to see right on the border of the USA and Canada. It is a great place to take pictures.
Great history, entry in Canada yrs. ago. Beautiful area, just sit an take in fresh air.????
Visited this park today for the first time in 2 years ( thanks to the pandemic restrictions) No police checking i.ds this time. Saw the different beauty of this park when its snowing. Just beautiful! Sun was …
Very nice park to let your kids out to play and run around when in traffic at the border checkpoints. Very nice in summer months nice historical markers and flower beds.
It's a good place to meet with your friends and family if you are separated due to visa or other issues. Most police officers are nice and understanding, but there's one who will try to give you trouble from time to time.
Only place my fiance and I were able to see each other due to co-vid since I live in Canada and he lives in the states. It is a lovely park to spend the day at.
Large park on the border with Canada. Well kept, clean bathrooms, picnic tables and benches.
Went for a family day trip. Nice park to walk around. A good mix of history and nature to keep us busy for a while. If you play Pokemon Go the are a few pokestops and a gym in the park. A discover pass is needed to park.
Nice place to spend a afternoon and learn about the geographical history of Canada and United States.
Border crossing was quick and well managed, as far as border crossings go, the park is an excellent place to take a break
Great park and monument to the way a border should be maintained between counties, "peace"fully.
was a good day of prayers n drumming ...dancers were awesome along with the honored speakers.
*INCREDIBLE *What a landmark to spend an afternoon at! *Beautiful groundskeeping/landscaping at Peace Arch Park. Worth walking around to see the sculptures and spots of interest.
Peace Arch is a beautiful monument at the border between The United States and Canada. The entire area looks like one big garden. Canada has their large maple leaf looking perfect in their red and white flowers. Unfortunately, the American flag needed alot of work. The flowers are all over grown and the stars flowers looked dead. All things considered, I would definetly recommend seeing this monument. Below are a few pics I took. Enjoy!
Long long lineup to the State specially on holiday or long weekend. If you have family with kids you have no choice to accept this because they have school. People usually said leave early or late, that means really early or late afternoon same as coming back from State. But if you want to avoid the line up come back to Canada try the time between 1-4 pm. I crossing the border around this time only take me 15 mins.
Since COVID , Canada let their true Fascistic colors shine!! not sure why they just don't go all out authoritarian like Australia...
A place we love to visit every July 4th....
IT IS CLOSED THESE DAYS AND DONT FORGET TO CARRY UR IDs WHEN GOING TO BORDER AREAS. It is beautiful place but if you going from Canada and wana come back to Canada you would have to get in making your way through USA. You might need to spend 30-45 minutes to get clearance from Customs USA.
A neat place to stop the car and step out if you're going from the US to Canada or vice versa. There's a small monument (looks like an obelisk) that designates the international boundary between the two countries, or its approximate location thereabouts. Only four stars because it's hard to get out of the line once you're in queue for customs inspection.
Beautiful grounds, historic markers, lots of photo opportunities, even a large building with a kitchen for large gatherings. Don't miss it!
