A very easy hike for an afternoon walk. With different views points
Beautiful even on a rainy day :) for dancers/yoga enthusiasts there's a cool split log that you could fit your splits in lol anyone 5 ft and taller can fit their splits!!
Great place for some mask-off nature walks. Have great parking space and bike stands. Public washrooms available. Great place for kids. Unfortunately the place has lost a lot of its biodiversity and they are trying to bring back the balance by planting native species. Hence may not be a great hotspot to expect wildlife. View points are amazing and abundant. Great city views. Trails are well maintained and most of them are even until you get to the shores.
Beautiful park with moderately difficult trails. Only the main path is suitable for strollers or wagons but the shore pine path and lookout is where it's at, got a nice little workout in a less than an hour
Stunning view. Quiet and from the other side of the city perspective. You may see sea lions splashing around. The smell of the salt water has a healing power. The lighthouse is emblematic and you can get to see from different points of the park. Picture taken by me @petkovaphotography all rights reserved
Tries to get here before sunset but failed horribly. We still walked the trail as it was fairly easy and the trail was well maintained so we cruised along until we reached our destination. The initial view was blocked by trees and we didn't have enough time to get to another vantage point with the sun already going down. Going to have to make another visit to truly take in the beauty and the views to be had here. I still recommend coming here and I will be back to change my review to a 5.
Great for beginners. 15 mind trail. Love the view in the end
Great trails. Slippery after the rain but worth it for the views.
Beautiful park with lots of water front cliffs to sit. The sign to the light house viewpoint is misleading. At the picnic area, don’t follow the arrow to the viewpoint(that will lead you to a much obstructed view), follow the sign to the restroom instead. And instead of turning left to the restroom, go straight ahead through a low gate, turn around the corner and you will have a close up look at the light house.
Had a great hike with the family. Took the Arbutus trail from the lighthouse and was a nice workout but not too difficult. Even after the rain it wasn't too muddy. Views were worth it!
A nice walk for an hour or two. Bring good shoes, as part of the hike is quite uneven ground. Depending which trail you take. Near the lighthouse is a scenic overlook of the ocean where you can watch Porpoises, dolphins and the occasional whale.
Beautiful place to forest bathe, trail run, or shoot photos.
If you haven’t been to this side of beautiful city vancouver then you are missing on something. Picturesque, fairly easy trails and breathtaking view of lighthouse and ocean horizon with sailing oil tankers takes your breath away. You can follow the wide trail from the entrance of the park to go straight to lighthouse view which is about 10 mins walking trail. Or take the narrow trail towards starboat cove. There are picnic tables. Washrooms are not the cleanest but best a forest could have. ????Rocky pathway through the rocks takes you to the top of the big rock for the view of light. You could just be mesmerized by the beauty of this sight and sit here long time . I would go again and again to explore this beautiful and well preserved beauty of Vancouver. I wish i could tent here and have a bonfire.
One of my favourite places in the whole world. An amazing forest with old growth scattered through out. The shore line is rocky and littered with small beaches. At the west end of the park is a rock climbing area and the east side has the actual lighthouse.
An picturesque escape only a short drive from downtown. Lighthouse park has some great trails that are not too difficult. Clearly marked paths and trails, flush toilets in their outhouses (how fancy!!), and spectacular views from every lookout. We took the kids (5 and 7) and they had no problems hiking the trails and making their way through the park. Go early because the parking lot fills up early.
Good for weekend brings you family to hiking and see the nice view.
Great place to chill, walk and explore the trail....make sure to take a torch light hardly, if you are planning to stay post sunset.
An awesome place to have a quick hike with a great view. I always take my friends there, they seem to enjoy this place. I have also run here on early weekend morning. Parking gets busy starting from afternoons.
Beautiful day. I wish I can stay until nighttime so see the ????????
BEAUTIFUL!!!! Though we're not allowed to go down to ther lighthouse, it is an amazing hike down top the water. There are washrooms available as well! Remember to bring a water bottle as the trails can be tricky at times and there are no fountains.
Nice area to bring the family for a hike or a picnic. Not too strenuous. Simply beautiful views. ????
As usual very clean. Dog owners please pick up after your dog and carry the poo bag all the way to a trash can. Today I picked a couple.
An absolute gem of a park with great hiking trails and outstanding views of the Pacific coast and the city. Also conveniently connected by transit so reaching there is very easy. The bus stop also has a shelter for added benefit. I'd suggest some using some good quality shoes when coming here as there are lots of rocks throughout the rougher patches of the trail. Highly recommended.
Picturesque! Really beautiful trail/hike. We went on a weekday so parking was easy to find. Trails are not easily marked. There are literally no trail markers to let you know you are on the right path. We went off trail several times and had to double back. Trail can be muddy and narrow with only space for one person on path. Lots of beautiful viewpoints. Scenic and enjoyable. Not overly difficult. Lots of great places to picnic.
Beautiful park, loved the trails and lookout point. All trails says you can make it around the park within 2-3 hours but expect to spend a day here enjoying the views.
A nice park to take your friends and family. Fairly easy hike. Just be careful while climbing the rocks at the shore. The view you will get from the rock is mind blowing. So, it's worth the effort.
Great place to go for a family day out. Take a picnic lunch and head down for the afternoon. Beautiful spot to take photos. It's a bit if a hike as the trail is pretty rough so wear comfortable shoes but easy enough in flip flops.
Moderate difficulty, since some paths are steep and rocky. Stay on the paved main road to the lighthouse if you prefer a easy walkway. I am pleased to find many flora fauna. Differently enjoyable if you take the time to look for them.
This place is very beautiful. IF you like long hikes. NOT a place to take toddlers because of the rough paths and steep cliffs. They locked the pathway to the actual lighthouse so your going to have to walk around to east or west beach to get a better view of the lighthouse
I spent 5 1/2 hrs hiking this park and enjoying the views. The main trails are well groomed and easy for just about anyone to traverse. But if you like peace and quiet, there are also trails off the main trails. Lots of majestic old growth forest, lush ferns and nature at its best. The ocean views are magnificent Take your time and enjoy. The lighthouse is not as big as I thought it would be but it is still majestic Was able to get to this park easily via bus.
Went here for my engagement photos with my now fiancé. ???? A lovely park with lovely views all around.
Nice hike, The trail is well marked. Beautiful place to a watch sunrise. #davidlaughlinphotography #dlaughlinphotography #lighthouse #landscapephotography #britishcolumbia #lighthousepark #vancouver #beautifulbc #spring #springtime #view #landscape #westvan #westvancouver #ocean #pacificocean #hiking #solohiking #explore #sunrise #sky #sun #beautiful #morning #sunrisephotography
A few trails (lack of maintenance) lead down to nearby light house but no public access allowed; lead also down by the ocean with all rocky shorelines. Trails can be very wet & slippery especially after rain. It's a good place to fly my drone
Pretty forest with many easy trails go stroll through. No hiking experience needed for this park.
Amazing trail and park. Saw an orca just off the shore. Not too busy and able to climb on the rocks. Just careful of the high winds.
Nature island in the middle of a big city. Astonishing views of the harbour and Vancouver city. Nice walking trails. However, this park is not handicap friendly.
A great place for children! Some of the trails are a little more difficult, but still, nothing an active 6 year old couldn't handle. Washrooms have plumbing. Dogs on-leash (there's bears). Some picnic tables. There's a nice walking path to the main outlook that's good for strollers or older family members, but there are also numerous paths that stray off the main route that make for a fun and adventurous hike. I'd have to say this is one of the most rewarding short hikes, within a reasonable driving distance to Downtown Vancouver. Along Juniper Trail (I think), you'll find bouldering walls with define routes. Make a whole day of it.
Nice views. The trails don't seem too bike friendly. Even for a MTB
This place is absolutely epic. So worth it. Don’t let the distance stop you if you’re a visitor. The ride there is pretty pleasant as well. Once you get to the park you’re overwhelmed with ridiculous beauty of bright green moss, boulders, massive trees. Take the trails to take in the full grandeur of the forest and arrive at the lighthouse on the coast made up of cliffs and covered in driftwood.
Very beautiful sunset. East Beach is also very nice. The trail to the East Beach is a little hard. Make sure you wear boots in the winter.
Amazing place for a walk. Stunning views, not very busy and easy “hike”. Take some food for a picnic and enjoy.
Fairly easy trails and beautiful view of the water! You get a nice view of the lighthouse from the side when you take a different trail.(forgot to take a picture, but the view from the side profile was spectacular).
Awesome park with lots of shorter trails. If you are looking for an hour-ish walk and a nice lookout this is the place.
Such a beautiful place! And easy hike.
Great hike, very quiet and serene views A little slippery due to rain but worth the walk. Pretty easy hike all around
Weekdays is a bite too quiet, should come here few more friends, can’t be one single girl, must go with friends. Ok nice to short hike, 10-15mins but yes walk a bit only.
Nice place to visit for a short hike. Some great ocean views and washrooms are available.
Beautiful park. Ancient trees some of them is over 500 years old. The access to the light house is very hard.
Great place to walk into the nature even in a rainy day. Parking was convenient, washroom can be found about half way down the route. We were unable to get to the lighthouse but still had a wonderful short stop. The trail takes about 15min walk to get close to the lighthouse.
Short and tree covered trail to the water. Clean rest rooms. Beautiful vistas to witness on sunny days. Surrounding mountains and water set just the right tone for Sea to sky highway.
Minimal elevation stated but going down the ?Beacon Trail gives you steep short bursts so definitely need good walking shoes to be comfortable. Beautiful views and benches available throughout if you need to sit and catch your breath!! The end of the trail is well worth the walk.
Great for an afternoon or early morning trail walk. Great place for family and friends to spend time and enjoy the outdoor. Pet friendly
Beautiful hike.... Didn't expect to see a woodpecker so it was a pleasant surprise! Parking was a bit crazy but we finally found a spot. Suggest you go early if you don't want to run into parking woes.
I would say this is easy to medium hike/walk. If you need a flat path this is not the place for you. There many parts of the trails are not “groomed” but just worn from foot traffic. The trails have many openings for you to walk and climb on the rocks ritual to the water. You may even see the Bald Eagles that love near by.
Great place to go for hiking and it's not very far from Downtown Vancouver. You can't go where the lighthouse is but you can go around and see it from another angle. I recommend this place to go to see the sunset.
If someone asks me, where is the best place to see sunset in Vancouver?? I must recommend this place. There is a small hike to reach the viewpoint, so be ready!
This is a beautiful rock climbing spot by the ocean for intermediate experienced rock climbers featuring 5.8 - 5.11 routes. Watch your step on the slippery steep descent to the starting points of the climbing routes, as it easy to fall and twist your ankle, especially when you carry climbing gear with you. You can also do some cliff jumping and swimming there if you feel up to it.
Beautiful trail to walk . After 10 minutes you get to the light house and the amazing ocean view. Plenty of beaches and tables for picnic and parking available at the entrance of the park. 100% recommended.
Short trails lead to rewarding city, mountain and water views. Rocks and boulders to climb on for the kids and a history lighthouse at Atkinson Point by the Arbutus trees make this park a great place to visit all year round.
So much to see, light hike - start early! There are several lookout points & you get to see the landscape of both the mountain side, the islands and the city.
We went on a day that had a wind advisory and if you are wanting to be there then it is so worth it. The hike was beautiful and we are making this a location we visit when we come back!
Such a beautiful view from this place. Head down to the beach area with the rocks where You can sit and enjoy views of the sea and the city in the distance.
Great opportunities for pictures. Also a great place to come as it is quieter than other hiking routes. Some of the paths are intense and you definetly need the right shoes here - No open toed shoes. Everyone is very respectful, and enjoys the space with you.
Great place to have a nice walk and enjoying amazing view. Mosquitoes alert and there should be a need of some signs or boards to reach up the closest visiting point.
Excellent park with tons of great trails and views of the entire area. The active lighthouse was excellent as were views of the city.
Very beautiful as always and now, the park has washroom and sutting benches around the park to enjoy a picnic day when the weather allows;)
Beautiful view! I recommend going in the afternoon as the sun makes the water shine. The wind can get pretty strong when you get closer to the water.
Been here multiple times. Amazing views of the ocean by the rocks. There are lots of side trails that branch out from the main path with beautiful old growth forest. Some of those trails also lead to the many hidden viewpoints scattered around the park. A beautiful place to spend the afternoon.
Beautiful trails! Views! Very calm atmosphere and energy
Awesome place! The view is stunning. We hiked for more than one hour and enjoyed ourselves at every view point. Highly recommended.
Great little nature hike. Many short path through the forest allow you to explore the whole lighthouse are. You can not get very close to the light house , but there us a bunker with some crazy graffiti which is interesting to see. Lots of steep terrain and pathways. Saw both a Golden Eagle and a Bald Eagel as well as a baby Seal.
Spend hours here on all the very well marked trails. So much more here than just parking lot and lighthouse. Explore all the ocean view points
Very beautiful. Great hike. Amazing sites to see
Nice little place that gives you a view to Vancouver. There's not much to see though.
I am pretty sure this is my favourite place in all of Vancouver. Amazing views, awesome history , lots of wildlife. The vibe here is amazing. I recommend going here with picnic items and binoculars
So much to see and do here. We spent a few hours and still didn't explore everything. We took the trail to the right past the lookout and went right down to the rocky ocean.
Fantastic place. A short hike and after that, booommmm, a beautiful place to relax and have a good time.
Beautiful place... but watch out for parking... nightmare to get/find parking and the road in is tight.
Beautiful place to visit. A small hike and a lakh view. Definitely have to try with friends and family. Directions are not assigned properly, that's the only issue with this park. As of now some construction work is going on near the Light house, Little noise over there. Had some hidden spots, after doing to hike their are many best places to relax. Definitely recommend to visit in summer.
Really nice park but some of the trails aren't as well-marked. Excellently maintained public bathroom at the end of the trail. Views are great, but it would be nice if you could get closer to the lighthouse.
This park was the highlight of our trip to Vancouver. The landscape and trees are wonderful. Note: Be sure to drive respectfully through the residential streets on the way in so it stays available to visitors for years to come.
Always a beautiful place for a walk and photography with many great viewpoints. Lots of trails, so it's easy to customize the length and difficulty of your hike.
Very nice Hike! There are a very clean washrooms The view of the light house is great You need about 15 mins walking to reach the ocean! It has a great view Very clean, well organized and also there is a parking lot for the area! Highly recommended
I’ve been going here periodically for over 30 years. It is undeniably a lovely place for a walk in the woods. But first-timers should note these three minor challenges. First, parking is limited and a bit disorganized (it is in the forest, after all); thus, on summer weekends, the lot can get so full it can be difficult to get out of your spot if someone jams their car into an adjacent or opposing “spot” that really isn’t meant to be parked in!! Second, the largest trails are wide and smooth (perhaps boring, even) but many trails are a bit gnarly (which is fun) but poorly marked, making it a bit difficult to know exactly where you are and which direction you should turn. Third and finally, don’t expect to get close to the lighthouse because the public is not permitted on the grounds surrounding it — a fact that disappoints kids and tourists alike!
Easy hike going to the Shoreline trail. It’s one of the many trails at the Lighthouse Park. If you love the sea with great weather and sunshine, this is just perfect.
Views are beautiful. I wish only if this place would have been transit connected..... You just need to walk for 10-15mins to experience the breathtaking view ????
This is a nice trail to go on if it's a hot day. The trees will help provide shade. I took one star away, because the trails are not well marked. There's many view points take pictures of the shoreline, just becareful everybody, safety is priority.
I've been here multiple times and always find some new paths to take. Parking is limited and gets full fast so get here early. You can take the main trail if you want an easy walk or take any of the other trails for a more hiking experience. The light house lookout is nice but I prefer the rocks further to the right on the trail to see the light house from the side. Also bring some mosquito repellent. Love this place.
Beautiful park, with room for physical distancing! Would recommend looking up and planning your trail beforehand, though. We found our way fairly easily but added a bit of time to our walk because we didn't.
Generally a nice park with great views. Has a lot of trails including social trails. Has some historic structures that look well maintained but unclear if they are ever open. There is a map in the parking lot so good place to get oriented. Once you get on the trails, the intersections are well marked but the trails themselves are not. It’s easy to get off trail then. Also, beware, it’s essentially an off-leash dog park. Just so you know. And yes, people leave their dog waste bags on the trail. Pretty disgusting really.
Great trail with an awesome scenery at the end
Perfect setting for a picnic, photoshoot, or a walk with a lover/kid/dog...or all three. Beginner to medium, depends on the path. Well maintained. Facilities and benches found throughout.
I loved this place. You can get a little lost in the first then you start to hear the crashing waves and then you get to discover a beautiful lighthouse as a treat.
Beautiful spot and not crowded. Good spot for sunrise and sunset views. Not a very hard trail.
Awesome local hike with a stunning view of the lighthouse. You can no longer get right up close and personal to the lighthouse but the hike is short with rewarding views of the lighthouse and ocean. Definitely worth checking out
Amazing little park nestled in West Van. Dusty dry trails in the summer. Clearly marked trails and fairly beginner hiking. Great views of the city and the Georgia straight. Highly recommend going at sunset. Bring a picnic and bug spray.
Nice place, easy trail. Very busy on weekends. Not for baby's strollers. Nice viewpoints . There is free parking in the place. There are washrooms there. There is a root with access to wheelchair.
A very peaceful place It’s a short walk if you only come for the ‘lighthouse’ But you should definitely explore more around it! Take the Shore Pine Trail! So much to explore! If you like rock climbing if can even find some rocks to climb by the shore!
Trails were a little crowded but a really nice way to spend a afternoon close to the city and able to get there via public transit. Very scenic views and a beautiful forest.
Awesome views. Light and easy trails. One day 7 different views
Where history meets nature! Beautiful rocky shore and a 30 minute light trail for your weekend hike!
If you are looking for a picnic ????, easy walk, sunset watching, this is one of the best parks around Vancouver. Sometimes the park can be crowded. We Love the sunset from here. Some photos are attached. With low ties, you can walk into the rocks over the lighthouse. There are few restricted ???? areas near by lighthouse. I would like to recommend you to try this park highly.
Amazing. Majestic. Great views. Lighthouse is better visible from the west beach but the east beach is a quick walk. Like a super-short , mini hike and you can climb your way across the rocks and find yourself a spot with unmatched views. We also completed the shore point trail and found great viewpoints along the way but it is a bit rocky
a really nice hike for hikers of all experiences. i never get tired of this amazing hike! at the end of the hike, you reach a 'beach' with a few big rock monuments that are popular to climb up. once climbed, the views are pretty spectacular. only downside is the sea cockroaches in between some rocks. there's also another place you can try to get to, it's like a graffiti structure. can get to the graffiti by going through some bushes or by somehow climbing on the side of a rock.
Beautiful area to hike and explore. Lots of picturesque views and trails to explore. Give yourself several hours or plan multiple trips to see it all. I highly recommend wearing waterproof footwear, the area is very damp with numerous small streams crossing the trails
Great place to explore! Many great trails and history! Can be popular on the weekends, so get there early. Parking is Free, but is limited. Many park outside the gates in some additional limited space on Marine Drive.
Very nice place for a fast hike near the city. Clean and easy paths. Dogs can be unleashed. The negative is that you cant really access the light house, door is closed and you cant go there for fishing
Good place to small hike with family and couple. Beautiful and calm when people are not many.
Park is fine, but the Lighthouse isn't accessible. Also, they can do better with the trail signage, one can easily get lost there in the dark winter evenings.
Nice trails, beautiful place to picnic, lots of parking in the park or along the street then just walk in, maps available, gorgeous views, some uphill but benches to rest along the way.
A short walk through easy trails leads to a wonderful view! We were brought here by a friend for our first outdoor rock climbing experience, and definitely had a blast. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat and other people!
Interesting trail that takes you to coves and lookout points with amazing views.
A perfect spot to spend a nice sunny afternoon. The light house is a quick 10 min moderate hike from the parking lot and numerous other trails in the area leading down to the beach for an awsome view of Vancouver downtown and surrounding areas. Bring some snacks and enjoy the sights and sounds.
Excellent place to go for a walk and check the beach. Dog friendly, lots of information, signs everywhere, well marked, family spending a sunny day and great viewpoints.
Everytime I want to go to the Lighthouse Park I hesitate for a bit. Although the views of the park are amazingly beautiful and there are multiple spots to enjoy the collision of land and the sea, the fact that there is no strict law for visitors to leash their dogs at the park is scary for me. I am not scared of dogs, but when dogs become excited and out of control I get very nervous as I am not able to predict their behaviour. Once, a huge excited dog ran savagely towards me, perhaps to play with me, but I was so scared to scream loudly in the middle of the hiking. I would have more secured and enjoyable time, if people had to keep their dogs leashed by law at the park.
Amazing viewpoint with options of multiple trails with different difficulty level. A little tough to reach the coast but the view makes the journey worth it. The public washrooms were clean and the area is pet friendly.
Beautiful park in the heart of West Vancouver. Many different trails and lush greenery every where you go. The views of the light house by the water makes for amazing pictures. Great place to relax and spend time with friend, family or your love one. Parking can get quiet crowded especially on weekends. Also a great place to watch the sunset, but be sure to bring a flashlight as it can get dark within the trails. There are also lots of mosquitos at night. Otherwise an amazing park to visit for any occasion!
Beautiful local trails deep in West Coast rain forest of West Vancouver. Overall, trails are short distance and moderate for walking. Several washrooms and wooden benches on main trail which is good specially when you go with family to rest and have a break. Good parking space. Beautiful scenery on the way and when you get to view points. I strongly recommend to pick up a free map of the park before heading to any of the trails to have a peace of mind not getting lost. Trails can be a bit slippery in wet and rainy days so having proper hiking shoes will help. No camping, no barbeque, no wheels of any type in this park. Dogs must be on leash all the time. Good place for photography. Respect the nature and the do not live you garbage behind. There are several educational signs about the local animals and plants and also history of the place that sending a bit of time and reading them give you a deeper understanding and observation of your visit. Have fun and enjoy this mysterious place. Cheers.
Light house in west vancouver is nice place for walk and sightseeing good view and beautiful nature and blue sky makes its more mesmerizing and good place for family outting and it has lot of trials very beautiful view when its sunny
Beautiful place to a watch sunset. Don't forget your bug spray as well as hiking shoes. Pictures are no filter.
Natural Beauty, perfect little hike (my 7yr old did it). Amazing views, worth the visit. Be patient with parking, not many, but a spot will come available after a few minutes.
This spot was relatively quiet even though the parking lot was full to capacity. Pleasant views, calm environment and fresh air. Not too difficult of a hike to get to the lighthouse so it’s suitable for all ages.
Prefect location for hiking with family and kids. Amazing views and very well maintained trails. You can see the ocean and some giant trees in the park
Perfect place to spend a day away from the big city! We took the 250 Horseshoe Bay bus from downtown - it took us right to the park gates! The day was beautiful, so we spent the afternoon wandering the trails. The trails are well marked although they can be rough - hiking boots recommended! We spent some time watching the sea lions fishing and playing just off the Juniper Point trail! Highly recommended!
very limited parking. 10 mins walk from parking lot. Some trials are very rocky and steep.very hard to figure out right trail. Didn’t make it to very bottom. Can’t find the right trial to get there. Managed to get some glimpses of lighthouse tower. Definitely gonna visit again to get down near water to get shots of tower
Lighthouse Park has several beautiful hiking trails with many gorgeous vistas. From the east (Eagle Pt), you can see the city, straight down Beacon Lane is the lighthouse and far away Vancouver Island, and from the northwest (Juniper Pt), you can see several beautiful islands (Passage Island, Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast beyond). Some of the hikes require decent agility to navigate. Wear proper footwear. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles (they make a high pitch screech, higher pitch than a sea gull), river otters, seals and the occasional porpoise or whale. It's a local and tourist favourite! Enjoy!
Love this place. Many trails and a picnic area (no fire)
Such an epic spot! You can literally spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours like we did just hiking all the different trails and taking in all of the many viewpoints along the way. It’s also a super easy hike. Great for beginners! For more photos find me @sueshamon
This is a great spot for an easy hike. There are multiple routes for shorter and longer routes. Some are a little harder than others. There’s also a direct route directly to the viewpoint which doesn’t take too long. It is also dog friendly.
It's an excellent park not too far from downtown Vancouver. Many trails that will take you to giant trees and various shore lines. Also, there's a view of an old lighthouse. Parking is in hot demand, so if you arrive on weekends you might need to wait a few minutes for a spot. Great for kids, however, some trails can get flooded during and after the rain. Highly recommended! Also, watch for interesting finds on the shore of this park (see my photos).
Rugged yet accessible, Lighthouse Park brings West Coast terrain to the generally softer Vancouver landscape. Here it's possible to stroll on graded paths amid massive trees, walk on rugged trails, scramble over rocks, paddle from cobbled beaches and sit on weathered driftwood logs all while looking out at towering forest and islands (look west and north) or towering skyscrapers and tankers (look south and east).
Beautiful park and dogs are allowed off leash. Beautiful scenery and moderate hiking trails. There are numerous view points with unbelievable views. The trails are moderate but be sure to take water with yourself as there is not water available in the trails. Doggy bags are provided at the parking area. Lots of parking stalls are available;however, they tend to fill up quickly on a nice sunny day. The west side of the park has unreal view with rocky shores and the view of the actual light house. The east side of the park is mostly trails with some access to water front. Overall a great (easy) hike.
Good place to take your dog off-leash. Great views. Parking can be an issue at times.
Great place for short hikes! When we went the lighthouse area was closed but we went to rocky area where you get nice views of the city
Lighthouse park is a great little gem of West Vancouver with huge views over the water to downtown and the university, Bowen Island and beyond. It's also a haven of the natural environment with many birds, trees, fungi and other sorts of nature packed densely in a small space. As an added bonus there's a great deal of interpretive information and history to the place, plus it's accessible enough for the kids and the grandparents to enjoy together. It's also a distant but surprisingly great spot to watch fireworks from, too, should they happen to be on downtown.
Great trail with multiple little trails all connected that lead down to the water and back up, with a easy paved walking trail in centre that connects directly to the lighthouse. Dog off leash friendly. Beautiful views of Vancouver, ocean, and forest.
Spectacular view from the light house park. We were also able to reach the water safely where there were many cut tree logs... safe for families and dog walkers
Nice park even on a rainy day. Not a lot of parking, but much more space than other West Vancouver parks. Lovely place to take your dog to (for a hike, not for a swim).
Fun place to spend the afternoon. I enjoyed east beach where I just lay on the rocks and relaxed. Lots to explore at this park.
Very nice trail hike, fairly short.but very beautiful. The main trail is very easy and wide but there are other side trails that are slightly more moderate difficulty. I spent around 2.5 hours at this park. Checking out about 2/3s of the trials and enjoying some time at the main viewpoints. Parking is pretty limited. There are also very nice park benches everywhere with great views.
This park is so lovely!! I wanted to come here as I saw a few pictures of the lighthouse by the water, but when I arrived I realised there's so many trails! lots of rocks to climb on too! Can't wait to go back :)
Lighthouse Park is a great way to relax outside of the city. A short, fifteen minute walk leads you to an old lighthouse and rocky beach that you can admire. Hiking shoes are recommended because the rocks can get slippery. Washrooms at the end of the trail feature hot water and flush toilets. A must do!
Wonderful park to get fresh air, a nice walk in coastal forest and get views of Georgia Strait, BC Ferries and of course the Lighthouse. Good signage and history. The beaches are nice but very popular.
Nice easy trail with breathtaking views. My wife and I hiked this trail as one of our first hikes ever and we weren’t disappointed. There’s also some amazing spots to lay down a blanket and have a picnic which we will consider next time for sure. ✅✅✅✅✅
Nice and easy trail for all ages. The view is beautiful, but the trail is a bit packed (during Covid)
One of our favourite hikes, great for families.
Trails here can be challenging so gear up and go! Best place to get some excerise with some fun. Beautiful trail with beautiful view. Can chill there all day long. You can get some munchies n chill there. If you're looking for any good photo opportunity, then you'll have quite a few choices here. Stunning! Parking is available. Washrooms is there too.
Such a great place to enjoy sunset! Weekdays during Covid still very busy place. There are some favourite private spots that i love! 100% recommended!
Lots of trails but wasn't the best view of the lighthouse Went to the Starboat Cove too
Fun short trail! 10 minute walk to the light house
Stunning views and a nice healthy activity for the day!
Really fun walk! Easy to get to and beautiful views, hard to believe just a stone throw away from an incredibly busy city because it’s so peaceful! It’s also so clean and the trails are well maintained!
Worth visiting with families and dogs. Easy trail with kids and dogs. At sat noon, the entrance is blocked as no more parking space, better go earlier.
I just loved taking the trail from the parking to the lighthouse, soaking in as much tranquility as I could... the scent of the forest, the rain drops on my skin, birds chirping..thanks mother nature for her generosity.
Great place for a short hike. Had 2 little kids with us - 4mo old in a carrier and a 2yo. I'll probably have both of them in carriers next time we go. To get to the beach you have to go through narrow, rocky paths and big boulders. Took about 30 mins to the water since our 2yo slowed us down. Going back is all uphill.
A very beautiful park indeed! It can be a bit rugged on the walk to the Lighthouse and a sturdy footwear is advisable in my opinion. I loved walking amongst the huge trees and pathways to the amazing views of the coastline. The weather was very good and the scenery was stunning. I highly recommend this Park.
We had been avoiding the park as I read parking was awful. We arrived early or else we wouldn't have found a spot. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great walk. Saw a seal and a couple of bald eagles. Nice, clean bathrooms. We'll be back.
First time here. Interesting place. Good trails. Some parts are flat and even but there are some areas where it's narrow and lots of rocks etc. Overall a very nice place to visit. There is an area for picnics but no form of BBQ is allowed. Notice lots of people with pizza boxes. Worth a drive
If you are looking for a short trip or a trip to Vancouver, this west Vancouver lighthouse view point will be worth it. A hike of 15 min and be ready to witness the surreal beauty..????
Been hearing a lot about this place. I finally got a chance to do this hike on the weekend of March 20 and 21. Short, easy trails with rewarding views. Will definitely be coming back here again and again.
Such a delightful park! The trails along the coast have beautiful views of the water and many points to stop and sit on the rocks. The huge trees are also amazing.
Wonderful place to relax and see stunning views. If you go for just the view point, it’s a very short hike but there are a few trails which are worth it. Lots of additional cliffs and rocks for a quick climb. Grab a free map at the front gates, it helps a lot. Parking is somewhat limited.
Lovely place with a lovely view. An easy hike if you want to go on the trails and scramble a bit. Also plenty of ways to have a relaxing walk instead.
Easy walk to the lighthouse view point. A lot of side trails if you enjoy hiking. Some areas are steep but it's not too difficult. It is not too long either. Parking lot will be full if you go on the weekend at busy time. We arrived at 3pm on a Sunday and was told that the parking is full. Need to wait for a car to come out before letting in.
Has nice views and paths
Really nice park with good trails. Though some areas are very steep if you have an older dog. Good for solo hiking.
Raining, nice walk, just follow forest trail from Carpark down about half a km, climb rock to view lighthouse from the rear much easier than front, you can't get to the lighthouse as authorized access only,
It has q variety of trails, and nice views of the lighthouse, the rocks by the beach are the highlight.
Great place to get some steps and hiking in. There are many trails to explore and the side trails are generally not too busy.
If you just go to the lighthouse and back it's a pretty quick and easy walk, but the additional trail options offer great views, and you can clamber down to the rocky seaside as well for a closer look. The main areas can get pretty busy, and the parking is limited, but the side paths and bluffs arent overly crowded and offer great views and areas to sit for a little and enjoy the breeze. Dog friendly.
Sites included harbor seals, eagles, forest, ocean, Vancouver coast and city views, ships, sailboats and a lighthouse, of course. Nice hiking trails with beautiful look out points. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Nice hike. The trail is well marked. Great views once you get to the end.
This is a lovely park with a range of hikes from very easy on groomed paths, to moderate on rocky/dirt track. Follow the street signs down to Marine drive. There is reasonable parking at the park and several different trails heads directly off the carpark. There are 2 info boards with map pamphlets to get you started. Straight down the main route to the lighthouse is a quick downhill walk on a wide gravel track. Once you hit the buildings you can peel off in a few directions. Please note, you can't actually get to the lighthouse, it's in a secure area. However you can see it from a few rocky outcrops and vantage points. A great area for some lovely views back towards Downtown and UBC. Very dog friendly.
Great place for great views. Nice hiking. Great for a day out. A picnic or just a stroll with the dog or family.
Not a Child Stroller or Wagon friendly park. The inclines are a bit steep add to the fact that most of the trail is somewhat rocky gravel path. If you have kids who are 5 and above then it will be nice if they can just walk on their own. Younger kids than 5 probably need to be carried on a hiking back pack, as there's a lot of hidden paths before you can reach the actual view points. The lighthouse is also located inside a private property, which means, you will never get close to the actual lighthouse, unless you're friends to the property owner, then they might give you a private tour or something.
Very nice view, it's a bit of a hike to the water. Parking is very hard to find unless your there before 10am or have fun finding street parking.
Great trail. Well maintained. There were a few larger trees that had fallen across the top of the path near the lighthouse that were hung up which concerned me. Also near the structures deep in the forest was a single white Nessan. I doe sure I thought it was product placement. Turns out it was the park ranger. Good time over all.
Nice park, great trails and beautiful scenery.
Beautiful park with stunning views. Car park can get busy at peak times but it's well worth waiting for a space
Lovely place with a lot of trails. There are trails beside the beach with very beautiful scenes from the sea and the city. The parking is usually good specially on week days. During summer, the parking gate closes at 10:30pm.
Quite Spot, Nice View. Good for a walk / hike. Plan on a clear day to view open bay. Need to drive by windy residential areas to reach this place. Free parking Need proper hike shoes
Good park close to the city and has a few trails. Somewhat easy hike but still have some areas where you have to be careful of your footing. Great view of the water when you get to a couple of the lookout points.
This is a nice park, with excellent views, old growth trees (think big and tall), and several relatively easy hiking trails, which are very scenic if you enjoy the forest environment. See photos.
This very well may be my favourite park in the Vancouver area. Great place for a chill hike through beautiful forest with some amazing ocean views. A must visit for climbers. Short but great walls with an unbeatable view. Love this place.
This place has amazing trails. Though the Lighthouse Viewpoint is popular, Juniper Point is better. But you can easily fit in all of trails in a few hours. It's mostly wetlands, so definitely bring a pair of boots.
Come early as parking and traffic gets worse latter in the day. Visited with the kids and they loved the beach area as you can climb up during low tide.
Beautiful place, many sights worth seeing and the hike is fun
Beautiful park, very easy terrain for a light walk in the forest. Water views are unmatched. Many eagles and generally not too crowded.
Great views of Vancouver and a variety of trails for everyone. There are wide gravel roads, but also many narrow and steep trails off the beaten path if you prefer. Bring boots if you are heading off the main path, as it tends to get muddy in places.
Very nice place. Very casual Trails that lead to the ocean with some nice big Rocks to sit on with the ocean waves splashing on them. My gf was able to complete the trail in birkenstocks. You can see UBC, Downtown and North Van. Spectacular view of the Burard Inlet
