Beautiful provincial Park ! Quite clear path, nice staff. Lack of public transit, thats a shame. Wonderfull views.
Fun place to go snowshoeing for a day. Trail passes are $10 (adult) and $6-8 for kids. They rent s-shoes, but if you plan on going even a few times, consider buying your own. The Nordic Area is adjacent to the Provincial Park boundary where you can snowshoe for free; however, these areas are not maintained, so pay attention to the snow/avalanche conditions.
Great place to spend a day (or night) on skis or snowboard! Decent pub and lots of parking (even though you might end up walking a bit before hitting the slopes.
Very pretty, it was icy when I went up but overall had a good time!
Awesome hikes, lots of parking. Saw 3 bears along Easy Rider Chair/Collins. They're mostly preoccupied in the grass. Give em space
Lights to the lodge were great very nice walk lights were beautiful so peaceful with the snow falling
My favourite local mountain for snowshoeing and snowboarding. The Dog Mountain snowshoe trail has a great view of the city and is relatively short, about an hour to the top and back, with rolling hills, no crazy ascend. It is accessible from the nordic downhill parking, on the left and is marked as Dog Mountain. The trail accessible from the cross country area (about 30 feet left of the tubing park) is not marked with the name of the trail but does have 3 hills to climb but the view is worth it and it runs alongside the cross country path. The trip up takes about 2-2.5 hrs and the trip down is about 1-1.5hr long.
Howe Sound Crest Trail The 28 km trail started for us (when you hike like most people do South to North) @ Cypress, after we dropped off one vehicle at Porteau Cove, along HWY 99. We did this trail on Canada Day long weekend. We started Saturday morning at 11 am. We set up camp close to The Lions and spent the second night at Brunswick Lake. We finished at noon time on Monday. Amazing vistas along the trail - alpine hiking at its finest. We hiked the trail with our German Shepard, however, generally speaking, we would not recommend this trail for dogs. There are areas where we needed to lift up and sometimes down the dog (areas with ropes). The trail up to The Lions was very busy since the trail is only moderately difficult. However, once you go around The Lions, we had the trail mostly for ourselves. We encountered less than 20 people from this point. This changed after we started in our second day. The East side of the West is challenging. Snow patches were frozen and made it dangerous. There were at least three areas where the trail can be called difficult. When we reached Unnecessary Mountain, there was full sun, with no cloud in the sky which made the heavy backpacks feel even heavier. Generally speaking the marking is ok, however, a couple of times we had to search for trail markers. It was disturbing to find many old firepits in the backcountry and garbage as well. You should be in good physical condition before you go on this trail. You should not be afraid of heights, robes and chains which help you getting over large cliffs. There was lots of water along the trail. Nights got cold, but it was ok. Annoying were the little flies and mosquitos. Our bug spray which normally works well had no effect on those bugs.
Loved the New Eagle Coaster ride
Great skiing in the winter and phenomenal hikes in the summer. St.Marks summit is one of the best views I've seen in a long time. Bring lots of water.
Beautiful views in a sunny day!
Beautiful views!
It is a wonderful view of Vancouver over the mountain. Just be careful during the winter and prepare your winter tires.
Only Nordic skiing in the Vancouver area. Lots of hills to contend with but nice throughout the woods. Refurbished Nordic ski lodge is great for a break and historic. Needs some lounge and/or outdoor area to relax on sunny days at the base area where non skier visit.
Great view of Vancouver without having to pay to use the gondola at grouse
Beauty views. Close to the city. What’s more to say!
The snowshoeing pass is definitely worth it and the hikes in the summer are fantastic
Beautiful place to visit. Views are priceless
30 minutes from the city and your at the slopes.
A lot of parking near the main area itself. I felt that the place got over crowded when I went and the staff was not able to handle the flow of the people
Hadn't been here for 10 years and was great just as I remembered it, accept with the new rental building. Had a great day with the family!
Love it!!!! Today was lovely and super lightly
Beautiful park 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Easy access to great trails. The network of trails ranges from easy to difficult. Trails are well maintained and marked. There are public washrooms and a restaurant at the base.
Bears, bears, bears. If you don't like bears don't go to this park ????
My favourite ski hills on the North Shore
Came here during summer months for a drive. Obviously everything is closed. Looks like a nice place during snow season.
Decent place to eat your fish or use snakchat.
Went there for snowshoeing, definitely a great place for it, hope to ski next year.
The trail and view from top was awesome
Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Has it all. Great views, easy access and great hot chocolate at the top!
The hike was muddy, it was the hardest hike in my life
Just a fabulous place to spend your birthday!!! Or any fun day!
This was my first year that I had a ski pass at Cypress and I have to say it was fantastic. The downhill runs are awesome and much larger than Grouse. Parking is free and plenty, the Nordic Area with Crosscountry skiing and snowshoeing is also great fun. When the summer comes then Cypress is worth a hike since the views from the peaks are just absolutely amazing.
If your a local then you know it's not a big mountain but, it's easy to get to, has good runs and good food, even better if you're traveling and all you have at home is a bunny hill. They have rentals and lessons, staff are nice and pleasant to converse with. Overall an enjoyable time no matter what you do there. Lots of activities and has a killer view on a clear day!
Really nice, mellow trails. Beautiful scenery
If you are reading this please go there its amazing place to visit for sight seeing and see different weather at different mountain peaks
This was my first hiking, but that was soooo amazing. Me and my friend enjoyed a lot.
Yah! Ski rental shop is THE BEST! The staff here is amazing
Incredible hiking and road biking! Climbing the access road on a road bike can be challenging, but it is very rewarding with incredible views and sights, and clean mountain air. Hiking has varying difficulty with amazing views along the Baden Powell trail and the Howe Sound Crest trail. Nordic Skiing can be challenging because of the limited flat terrain, but it is very good for climbing and descending. There are many snowshoe trails to explore, again with varying difficulty. (Building snowforts is always fun!) The downhill skiing is also good fun, but almost all of the black diamond slopes are closed at night. I've never had a problem with any of the staff. They work hard and they are always very helpful. I will say, they do try their best at managing parking, but it gets very crowded here during the winter, so good luck finding parking! ????
I did Saint Marks hike and I can say that it's awesome. The views from the top are amazing.the hike is moderate and you can bring your dog if you want. You can see Bowen Island between others. The snow still there!!
The hike to St Marks summit is nice with some variety in the trail. There is a nice view at the summit of Bowen Island/Gibsons.
Get your noodles/burger/pizza, favourite beverage and your partner/friends. That's the way to enjoy this view. You can drive ahead for some adventure sports.
Two mountains that meet. Beautiful scenery at the daytime and good operations at the night. Seems to be only two places you can eat at but the food is pretty good up there. Probably the best out of the three ski hills in Vancouver area.
Get close to nature quickly from Vancouver . It is a busy site but it can accommodate lost of people. It is an easy 2 hr walk around the old growth forest and Yew lake. If you add on Bowens look out it is another 45 min. It is worth the walk.
The great outdoors is fabulous here. Skiing both Downhill and Nordic is great. Nice Downhill chalet but the Nordic facilities are a bit raw. Good tubing for the kids. During summer the hiking trails are the best and not overly busy.
Great hiking in the summer, and the best skiing (by far) out of local mountains in the winter. Super friendly and helpful staff on the entire mountain, but the people working at Nordic truly excel at making visitors feel welcome.
Great runs, beautiful nature. Good lodge and food. Glad I bought a season pass!
Nice scenic area over looking Vancouver. A great place for a little drive or in the winter you can also go skiing and snowboarding
The best of the local ski hills. Easy access and ample ski runs to fill your day. It's still small relative to some of the bigger resorts but great nonetheless.
the staff here are definitely not ready for the amount of heat this Christmas. the rental line up can easily be a 3-4 hrs wait went to cypress 3 times this Christmas/new year break. I can clearly feel that the staff and facilities are more suited for a moderate to low volume of skier during the busy days they are simply overwhelmed.
Beautiful landscape with many trails to explore and lots of parking spot. Eagle bluff trail is my favorite trail.
Lots of fun during winter! Snowshoeing is a great exercise. You can also do Cross country, ski and snowboard. Great location if you don't want to pay a lift ticket (like Grouse Mountain). It's easily accessible by car, even during winter time.
Snow had been really bad this year half the runs are not open but it's close, they clear the roads well when it does snow and is close to the city.
Beautiful place. Lots of wildlife and hiking trails
Very beautiful park. Green lawn and tiny flowers all over. Have a very good top view of vancouver. There are few trees in park so you have few shadows. Good place to relax under sunlight.
It’s beautiful in the winter too.
Cypress is a wonderful park with some breathtaking views of the city, surrounding mountains, and Howe Sound. The expansive park includes three mountains and offers great snowshoeing, hiking, cycling, skiing and snowboarding. The Cypress Mountain ski resort offers some fantastic terrain and is excellent for night skiing or riding.
Such a beautiful hike and perfect for exploring snow-plastered Hollyburn Mountain. It's a relatively easy trek along the 3.5 kilometre trail to the mountain’s breathtaking summit. Standing atop the snow capped crest, you're provided a magnificent view of the Lions to the north and the many stunning peaks of Garibaldi Provincial Park to the northwest. Be sure to pack a crazy carpet or at least a hefty garbage bag to add some speed and adrenaline to your descent.
Best west coast skiing except for Whistler. My only complaint is how sometimes even though we've spent 500$ on lift tickets and rentals for the day, they will still want extra for a pair of thin ski pants that won't keep you dry.
Absolutely love this place! It’s where I got engaged! Bowens overlook is good enough if you don’t want to hike all the way up to St. Marks!
So many great hikes. St. Mark's summit is definitely my favorite. Amazing views and old growth trees makes for a fun day of hiking. Microspikes were needed for Eagle Bluffs. Made for an easier climb up and down.
Love it...summer or winter. Cross country sking or hiking either one is always a treat. Prices are fair and over a variety of group events to sign up for during the winter season. If your looking for something with a bit more speed Cypress even offers a decent tubing area as a alternative to sking and snow showing. Great fun, winter workout which when finished you can stop at the lodge to warm up with hot cocoa.
Great stop to see Vancouver
Simply the best local mountain for snowboarding! Bigger than Seymour and Grouse, better runs. There is a paid shuttle! Great food at the Crazy Raven restaurant too!
Activities for all. Very well maintained provincial park. Dog MTN is a quick hike with a great view. Hollyburn MTN is about 8-9 k roundtrip medium incline, well maintained trails and markers. Tonnes of other trails / lakes to explore.
A very nice ski park, would definitely recommend. Book your tickets online before going and try to avoid going on a weekend
Great scenic views of the sea, the bridge, and downtown Vancouver.
Our favorite place to visit Every weekend during the season, skiing or snowshoeing, Awesome time with friends and family. Beautiful nature , fresh air, breathtaking view! We really enjoyed every minute spent overthere, rain or shine or snow. Lol! looking forward to go there back again soon
Great place for skiing/snowboarding, but not a lot of beginner friendly hills. Beautiful views though and the snow is very fluffy which is great for snowboarding, unlike Grouse Mountain.
Nice park to get away from the crowds in the summer. Lots of trails and some hidden gems along the way. Views on the way up can be spectacular
The best mountain in the lower mainland region. They have a variety of lifts and runs available for all ages, and the staff is helpful. Annoying though, today their card machines were not working, which cause long lineups for people trying to get their tickets. It was eventually resolved, but it would have been nice if it would be posed in their website. I've been going to this mountain for numerous seasons, and I will keep on going.
One of my favourite places for snowshoeing with some great trails that are moments from the parking. They have flat trails for those that want them and some steeper routes as well.
I think this is the best local mountain... A bit of something for everyone and tons open for night skiing.
Did cross country skiing there 3 times.. Track a bit icy but wide and in good conditions. The girls that sell tickets are nice, i like them.
Cypress Provincial Park is a symbol of Vancouver winter life. Gathers friends and families during winter, Brings back memorie during Summer nights. CPP is great example of tax paid well.
A great place for romantic photos by the water and peaceful places to sit. It is quite hilly so not a great place for older people with physical challenges or strollers. Some undeveloped trails and slippery areas on rock, so I recommend good footwear.
Cypress mountain has 2 designated areas one for cross country skiers and snowshoers and other a few kilometres further up for Nordic or downhill skiers and snowboarders. Generally a very busy mountain especially on weekends. Parking is free and has convenient drop off stops and designated parking based on availability for seniors close to the ski area. Staff is super accommodating and friendly. If you are new to winter activities, holly burn (HB) snow shoe trail can be a good starting point - it is free to use and maintained by parks Canada. Right besides the HB trailhead, Cypress has its own web of trails which has a usage fee and using a snow shoe is a must on these trails while on HB you can use crampons/cleats as well based on your preference. If you like to ski or snowboard, it is a good spot for sure. Enjoy ????
I went cross country skiing in the afternoon and the trails were all groomed well and there weren't too many people around. Renting the equipment came out to about 20 dollars which seemed very reasonable. I'll be going back.
Always better slow quality than the Grouse Hard to park and move but worth it. Expensive foods with decent taste Excellent landscape
Beautiful place, too bad we went here there's fog. Couldn't see any nice view. But the interaction with animal still worth the time. Try to go when it's sunny.
Nice area to wander about.
This is a great place for a short hike. Really great views of the surrounding area including the city of Vancouver and ocean. If going in winter months a lot of people seemed to be unprepared for snow. Bring traction aides so you don't slip on the ice as well as everything else you need for cold conditions.
Great park and lots of trails
This is one of the best places for skiing in the north of Vancouver. The rentals are reasonably priced, there are multiple slopes, suitable for beginners to more advanced skiers. It also has a large dining area.
It's quiet and sooo beautiful . You can see the city by say and night
My personal favorite of the North Shore mountains for Downhill. Great runs, well maintained, lots of free parking. Lineups can sometimes get a little long, though, especially for rentals. Usually best to rent somewhere else and bring your gear up.
Its beatifull and really nice place to feel the life!!!
Great inner city hill. Good deals on lift passes if you plain ahead
My favourite spot for Winter sports. Plenty of Green, Blue, and Black runs. Lodge has good infrastructure, with stores, rental centre, 2 restaurants and a cofeteria
I think I just did this mountain. But for everyone interested in hiking in late spring summer and fall, you can't beet this. Over looking Howe sound or to peer over the waters to see Vancouver Island and Bowen Island are just one of many wonders we receive when you get up there. If you're in love with ski season then man you're in for a wonderful surprise. Used for the 2010 Olympics it became world class. Don't forget cross country skiing. Holiburn next door is amazing. Go on up. 12 kms to the top. It sure beats driving for two or three hours to get to Whistler resort. Go visit Cypress.
Very fun place to get down to snowboarding or skiing. The cost is pretty fair as its not too high and lessons are very affordable and well worth it for starters. I think its only a dollar or fifteen extra for the lessons if one is going to do rentals since the lesson package comes with rental for the shoes + ski/snowboard and ski lift ticket. The lifts are fairly good, with a few running slower than usual. The Lions Den takes you up to a mountain with multiple paths for a good variety of difficulty.
Beautiful mountain. Great snowshoeing trails; however, the viewpoints are NOT correctly marked on the map!!!
Great nature and great hike! Indeed, beautiful British Columbia.
How can you describe a feeling - of pure awe, surrounded by the cedars, soft powder snow making a barely audible sound under your boots, a fresh nippy breeze across your cheeks, the blue sky smiling down upon you. This was my magical experience at Cypress Provincial Park. A place to delight the senses and bask in the glorious outdoors.
Great place for an hike with some amazing views of Vancouver as well as directly to the west.
Great hike to the top of St Mark. Not to hard at all.
Decent view of downtown Vancouver and Mt. Baker, although partially blocked by dense trees on the slope below. Toilets are not as clean as one would expected.
St mark's summit has the most stunning views.
Hollyburn mountain trail is an easy dog and kids friendly hike from the Cypress cross country skiing parking lot. The trail, 8 km return with a 450 m elevation gain, is clearly marked and will take 3-4 hours to complete. The flat rocky summit offers scenic views of Howe Sound, the Lions, Crown and Camel Mountains etc. .
Best view of the city on a clear night.
Good for skiing and snowshoeing. Very friendly stuff.
It was beautiful with lots of fresh powder snow!!
Scenic lookout view of Vancouver part way up. Great views.
Went there for skiing, snowshoeing, snowtubing and hiking. This place is amazing!! Has shuttle service from downtown vancouver during summer. There are a lot of trails from medium to hard difficulty levels and with great views!!!
It was my first time in that park it was stunning! My dog and I enjoyed a lot! We tired tonfind hollyburn fir but we couldnt!!next time!!
I'll be always be happy to experience such an adventure.
The mountain highway is an easy long drive. Be sure to stop at the scenic lookout, looking over greater Vancouver and the outer harbor.
Close to the city, but far enough away to make it seems like a getaway. A very nice lodge in the nordic area when you are ready to take a break. Snowshoeing and x-country trails are well marked and well maintained.
Nice place to visit. Check cypress cams and join the cypress member group to find out if conditions are good; sometimes the snow is icy. Many trails in summer and a few still accessible in winter.
St. Mark's Summit is mesmerizing..
Lovely hike. Wouldn't say it's easy but we did it with 8yr old to a 74yr old.
Beautiful Beautiful but a little tough hike to bowen lookout in winters. Carry your winter gear!
Snow is already decent. Boarding and snowshoeing in full swing. Make sure you pre book on line. Awesome pub in lodge after a day in the snow. Did I stress pre book tickets
Great snowshoe trails and views from Hollyburn Mountain.
We went snowshoeing here last Saturday. It was fantastic! The parking is free and not too far to walk to the ticket boith, depending how early you arrive. We arrived at 9 am when they open. The cost was $12 per person for the day for the Trail Fee if you had your own snowshoes and poles. The snowshoe and pole rentals cost and trail fee combined was $30 for the day. If you think about it, the cost is quite reasonable for a great set of green, blue and black snowshoe paths. We did all the green and blue runs that day. It was a lot of fun and very beautiful! Next time we'll do the black paths. I was really glad to have my ski poles a couple of times going downhill on one of the blue paths. We didn't eat at Cypress since we had a time we had to be back home in Coquitlam but we were ravenous later. We wore our backpacks with water and snacks to get us through the day. All in all, I highly recommend snowshoeing at Cypress Bowl.
There's a trail for everyone to enjoy. The Baden Powell one is worth it. It's not too long but not too short either. Just perfect for an afternoon. Make sure to stop at the lookout on your way back down, especially when the sun is setting.
Really enjoy the lookout here. Great views
Close to vancouver, but the mountain is small and snow conditions is always bad
Beautiful mountain and great place to see snow. Free parking near the cross country skiing area and tube slide
Always beautiful, no matter what time of year! Love hiking and snowshoing here since it's so close to Vancouver - great for a day or half-a-day trip.
Beautiful place year round, great skiing great scenery
Great area for skiing and hiking.
Another Jewel of Vancouver ???? So much to offer up there in all seasons. Downhill and Cross Country Skiing in the winter, with nice facilities. Going hiking when there is no snow snow or very little, and quite the selection of wildlife up there, and I am not talking about people. Amazing City Views on the way up too ????
I take my family here every year and have enjoyed it each and every time. We take a dat off during the week to beat the line ups and enjoy hours of fun each time. The staff are friendly and we never have to wait long before our next tow up the slope!
Great place to see sunset
This place is beautiful with or without the snow - it's like a mini vacation everytime
The area is pretty but in winter, ski prices are expensive. Though their are plenty of runs, it's still to expensive. Though in summer, hiking is really good and plenty of difficult hikes like Eagle bluff and saint marks summit. Plenty of bears
Great sunny day on the slopes. No new snow, but it was still nice.
A total 5.5 hour hike to the top but totally worth it. Cypress is one of the closer mountains the downtown Vancouver about a 45 min car ride. This is a dog friendly trail and we had no problem with our pup. Bring lots of water as it is pretty steep!
The high view point lookout is awesome.
Went to watch the fireworks on Canada Day. Was wayy to busy. We got there 2 hours before the fireworks and got a good spot. Plan ahead if you're planning to see the fireworks. It'll get very busy. Other than that, it was great. Great viewpoint with Vancouver downtown views
This place has great hiking trails!
If you love snowboarding , skiing or just a long winter hike. This place is the best because trails are well marked and as for skiing and snowboarding most of their runs are novice friendly and if you are an expert rider they also have a good backcountry ,and tree runs for you.
This is the best of the 3 mountains near Vancouver. They have more runs than the other 2 and tend to get more snowfall.
This is a very nice and enjoyable parks for people to view the city day and night if it gives spectacular views and has lots of available parking for anybody who wants to see Vancouver. The park and appears to be very clean and well maintained the roads going to the view are also very well maintained.
Excellent seaway view of Vancouver
Lookout is beautiful if you come when the downtown core is covered in fog!
We went snowshoeing. Lots of beautiful well maintained trails and just $14 for adults if you bring your own snowshoes. Check out their website for more info. We did the easy trails as it was the first time for some if us. Go early as you will need minimum 4 hours to do just one trail and take a break for a drink and snack at the lodge. Lots of parking. Great for skiing at all levels. Kids will love the experience too. Just keep to the trails and heed the warning signs.
First time with my kids at the mountain. Great for LOs. Lots of snow, parking was busy, however it was OK to find spot at 11 am on Dec. 27. Prices are ok if you take into account Costco gift vouchers. Super easy to convert them to gift cards at Nordic trail booth.
Excellent downhill, cross country, and snowshoeing facilities , as well as excellent après-ski. The best facility, out of the three mountain range outfits in the North Shore mountains. Not to mention excellent powder and untouched virgin ski areas within the park boundary, and between the black and double black runs, as well as off to the sides of blue runs.
First time snowshoeing and I loved it. The staff at rentals were friendly and helpful, the self-guided path was easy to follow, and the trails we chose were definitely suitable for beginners. It was a fun way to stay outdoors in the winter.
Went here for snowshoeing, it was a lot of fun and so beautiful! A winter wonderland. Trail tickets and rentals are reasonably priced.
Minutes drive to the park. Beautiful high point and snow view.
All season outdoor adventure. Top ski hill in Metro Vancouver, great summer hiking and a challenging hill for cycling. The look out has one of the best views of Vancouver. In the summer Cypress has the most accessible access to the Howe Sound Crest Trail but it can be busy especially on weekends. Access from Lions Bay or Porteau Cove will be less busy but significantly more challenging.
So close to Vancouver, nice views at Bowen Viewpoint and St. Mark's Summit. Note on July 1, 2018 there is some snow still at the summit and the way up is quite muddy.
Long scenic drive up to the parking area. Many trails branch off for summer hikes. Breathtaking vistas. Crest Trail is worth the hike. 10km there and back but so rewarding.
I love exploring this place year round! Hiking in the spring, summer, and fall. Snowboarding in the winter, and one of the only places open late for night boarding... im very forgetful too so if i left equipment at home i can always rent whatever i need :)
Great Hike from the parking to Bowen Outlook with fantastic views over Bowen Island.
One of the best local mountains! Has night skiing. Great view of the city!
Make sure to get the bug spray the prevents flies, lots of flies while hiking in the summer!!!
Great outdoor activities, snowshoing is alao quite enjoyable very well organized site...we jist love it
Cypress has been the go to mountain for our family this year in terms of day and night skiing. The walk to the base from the parking lot isn't that long with options to park closer if you're willing to pay extra and are early enough. They have friendly staff and dedication to making sure everyone has masks (and are wearing them properly). The lift lines have been busy but bearable and today's conditions were the best I've experienced skiing anywhere in the last several years. The booking experience initially involves creating a profile online and picking up your RFID card from the ticket booth. Once you have registered your card to your profile then you order your lift ticket ahead of time and you can proceed directly to the lift (your card acts as a permanent scannable lift ticket for the season)! It's not a 100% perfect system in terms of moving the lines as fast as before but works well to minimize contact in these non-contact times. Plan ahead and check the weather so you can have the best experience!
Lots of activities to choose from and plenty of parking. They can lower the rates a notch though.
We went to the Hollyburn trail which is right next to the Cross country ski run. Drive toward the main Cyprus ski parking and make a right just before you get there. The most beautiful snow shoeing I have ever done.
Great skiing conditions, well groomed runs, stations and chairs run this day.
Really nice place to snowshoe! It must be very fun to snowboarding and skiing as well. If you don't have a car, or if you don't have winter tires to get there, they have a service of shuttle early in the morning, that can pick you up from Richmond CF centre or another Stop nearest to you.
Pretty much only went here for the viewpoint, and oh boy was it worth it. Could see the entire Vancouver area it seemed like. Great spot!
Best local ski hill in Vancouver!
Amazing views, and it’s a really nice drive up
Decent hike, with a bit of scramble at the very top.
Beautiful and painful experience, haha, (Because of beginner)
Awsome spot year round to visit, on the motorbikes in the summer to late nights drives in the winter to look at the unparellel view of the entire lowermainland form above the clouds. The parking lot however could be made bigger, the place tend so get super busy with tourist during summer season for photo ops.
Lots to do here! From hikes to skiing /snowboarding. Theres a lot of activities and theybhave great signage to help assist hikers on where to go.
Great hiking trails all over. Never been up for the winter but I hear they have good skiing. Nice area. Watch out for bears.
Great place to visit. During Summer and Fall you can visit the park for easy to challenges hikes. All are dog friendly (on leash) and views are spectacular. Trails are well marked and maps are available on the trail head and junctions (on the busy trails). Winter is amazing as well, snowshoeing trails are great and Hollyburn trail is free and dog friendly. For snowboarders and skiers there is some fun as well, best local mountain (in my opinion) - let's keep Whistler out of the equation.
The views up here are incredible especially if you get up here on a clear day at sunset. Truly amazing. They do a great job with their snow making as well.
Beautiful hiking trail. Eagle Bluffs offers magnificent ocean views.
Its a mountain with some of the best views of Vancouver, there is even a place near the snow tubes where you can see the city bay and the island don't need to leave you car for fear of crowds.
Nice view close to town
Best local hill IMHO... I was visiting from Ontario staying in Port Moody and didn't want to make the 2hr drive to whistler. 2 hills... Lots of varied terrain... Staff at pro shop and restaurant were great.... Even lunch was really good ???? I spoke with lots of locals who love this place. Definitely hope to go back and enjoy. The views were of course stunning If you can you really really should
Nice views from the Mountain
If you love to hike just like me, be prapared for this great adventure with amazing views and also be prepared for bears, i saw one on my hike. take enough water with you cause it's about 5 hours hike. Totally worth it. you are going to love it!!!
Love going here for the view from the lookout and maybe next time ill try the snowboarding runs!
Fabulous ski & Nordic areas. Gnarleys snow tube area is a must try!!! Well groomed hills. Super friendly staff. Roads continuously plowed/salted. Lotsa parking. Great food at the lodge. Family friendly. Spectacular viewpoint. Worth the visit!
Amazing views. It’s hard, but worth. Prepare your water your drinks. Almost 3.5hrs get to top. Remember follow the red signals! !
The best skii resort in the greater Vancouver area.
Good view!
Very busy but fun in the winter snow season
Lovely place and Lovely job,Love anything????????????
There are some great hiking trails all through this park. Eagles bluff is an easy one with an unreal view of the ocean and surrounding area. It takes a while to actually drive to the top with all the switchbacks. Summer there is usually plenty of parking but winter can get ridiculous, especially on weekends. Lots of trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. They also do guided tours.
Really good ample free parking. I’m busy days it can be difficult to find parking but don’t give up, a lot of people arrive there before you and there’s bound to be an empty spot for you. The hiking trail just by the ski lifts are free entry, so you can go snowshoeing for free when it snows. Just remember to pick up a free pass by the lodge to gain entry.
You haven’t truly visited nor experienced Vancouver’s miraculousness of spectacular setting on the edge of Canada’s Pacific Wilderness playground until you’ve got up here ... it’s a local affordable favourite - Heck!the views are fantastic & FREE! Can’t beat that!
Great basic ski services. It's not a resort place, there is no spa facilities. Lift lines are long on weekends. Really good ski school, friendly staff, good local mountain when you don't have time to drive to Whistler or baker.
A good hiking place. The view is amazing from bowen lookout point.
Super venue, professionally run, great location from the city, lovely restaurant. Brilliant for families. Go visit.
Great view of Vancouver from the lookout at night.
Ok Resort, somewhat big, good runs, some good runs between trees, but most of the blacks/double blacks stay under Raven Ridge chair that almost doesn't work and is WAY TOO SLOW. Their parks are somewhat good but it takes forever to lap and the only 2 L jumps sits alone under a 15min chair not connecting to a park.
A great park right at Vancouver's back door. Great views of Howe sound, the city and the mountains behind the North mountains. Good starting point for the Howe sound Crest trail and fun ski hill included. A swim in cabin lake is also recommended.
The Eagle Coaster was so much fun! We did two rides each and LOVED every minute of it! The staff were so courteous and happy to change our reservation from an upcoming day in which the forecast looked terrible. Would recommend this activity to anyone without back issues!!
Very good hiking spot ????
This place is a nice place to go if for skiing and snowboarding in the winter. You can take lessons, and if you are a beginner there are a couple green (easy) runs that you can start on. Most of the runs are actually black (hard) runs. On top of the mountains, if it is not foggy, you can see some nice views of Vancouver and Howe Sound. I believe snowshoe trails are also available, as I have seen a couple snowshoers around. One drawback about Cypress is the parking. There is one main parking lot closest to the ski hills, but it gets filled pretty quickly. There are other parking lots farther down the road, but its so far away just getting from the parking spot to the lift is a workout. One way to sneak through to get closer to the main parking lot is to press the hazard light button on your car, so that they'll let you "drop off". If you're lucky, the traffic guy might even give you a spot. Also, there are three main ski lifts on Cypress for skiing/snowboarding: Raven, Lions, and Eagle. Raven is usually the least crowded and waiting for the chair is very minimal.
Haven't yet skied there, but the lookouts on the way up the mountain offer beautiful views of Vancouver.
Trails galore! For hiking, running, snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing. Nice facilities with food. Go prepared, if planning to explore.
There are many hiking routes from this location. The view is phenomenal. Parking is plentiful. Please respect the nature here. All trails are prohibited to take pets.
Great cross country ski school! Get a private with Russ
Good area to ski/snowboard. Awesome snow tubing as well
We did the snowshoe hike/walk to the lodge at 6pm. It was a clear night in a beautiful winter wonderland. Our two kids 15 and 13 had a blast. The hike/walk was easy and enjoyable for anyone with a basic fitness level. We got a bit restless and jogged some of it. Some great spots to take a nice family photo. We didn't go into the lodge due to corona, but it looked nice and cozy. This was my favourie winter activity by far this year! We will be going back for some evening cross country skiing. It really feels like a getaway and a change of pace from the city. ????❤????
Great place to visit and check out the olympic rings, and grab a bite to eat.. If skiing is your thing, and winter time it is... Then strap on your skis (or snowboard) and ride the lifts and check out some of the slopes used for the Olympics.. Great overlook on the way up to cypress. No parking fees, food not too expensive.
Amazing snowboaarding session! Got there really easy from kitsolano via shuttle bus!
Great view point. It was raining. We see clouds are passing us. An amazing view to see the cruise on sea. Far away to view the UBC ( University of British Columbia). Stanley Park view, Bridge which joints the Vancouver and Stanley Park looks very small from cypress provincial viee point, on the way thick fog keeps drivers alerts while driving
Probably THE best park in Vancouver. Awesome hikes and trails during summer, and an incomparable place for skiing during winter! The view on the sea and Downtown Vancouver is also awesome. The only issue is the access, there is no Transit bus to go there. You better use a car, or plan ahead and get a place in a specialized bus!
Gorgeous views. Absolutely stunning.
Extremely scenic hikes and an overall beautiful landscape.
Great view after a good struggle .. Its still covered with snow and difficult for hike..
Awesome summer walking trails that im sure most dont know exist because of distance. Beautiful!
Great park for hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter!
Great park with nice hiking route. There’s not suitable parking lot for all routes. We had to park our car on side of road same as the other cars.
Beautiful park. Plenty of hikes, and in the winter there are plenty of ski hills. Lots of fun things to do here. Plus, the lodge has a cafeteria, so if your hungry, you can eat there :)
Amazing place before the snow too. Very beautiful landscapes!
Great experience for night snow shoeing
Lots of great hikes here in the summer and winter! There are trails up the tallest peaks in the North Shore. You can get amazing views of Vancouver, Howe Sound and other North Shore peaks. There are a huge variety of trails here, I still haven't done all of them yet. In winter, most of these trails can only be done with mountaineering and avalanche experience. But there are 3 marked trails up to Black Mountain, Bowen Lookout and Hollyburn that can still be done by the average hiker (with snowshoes or microspikes). And they are free! Make sure you are prepared before you go out hiking here. People often need to be rescued because they come underprepared. It may be close to the city but it's very real backcountry out here.
Great local skiing, hiking, camping, you name it! I love this park.
Great local mountain for skiing near Vancouver in the winter with 3 detachable quad chairs 1 quad chair two double chairs and lots of open terrain. In the summer there is plenty of hiking with trails of various levels of difficulty. Mountain biking is also popular in this area as is road biking for the climb. Lots of parking and facilities .
Wonderful time to go snowboarding. There was constant snow falling and the tracks were super soft! I jumped more time today than ever. I had the best time today.
Beautiful lookout and tons of spots to stop and admire the views.
Did the Eagle run. It was well organised and beautiful... As well as fun! My only suggestion for improvement is the delay in releasing people. My trip was great until I was heavily slowed down by a nervous driver I front. Everyone has their tolerance and that's absolutely fine - just maybe delay the timing more to avoid bottlenecks? Otherwise wife and I had a blast
Of all the north shore ski hills this is the best. The views are amazing.
Lovely walks where we had a lovely experience with the birds there. Excellent easy walk (some elevations as you walk on) and a lovely way to spend your day! The old growth forest section is small but beautiful. I love visiting!
Great hiking in summer and good skiing in winter. The skiing is what you would expect. Don't expect a Whistler or Blackomb. Some fresh snow on a weekday evening is the best. Lets hope this winter is better than the last.
The place is just breathtaking. The trail to the park is very quiet and picturesque. A nice place for skiing and snowboarding. There is a restaurant that serves variety cuisines and the food is good.
Cypress is always a nice place to visit. Trailheas to many trails.
I have been to the top of Hollyburn twice lately (snowshoeing). It makes far more sense to me to do this free trip than pay for the privilege, though if you do pay you can always hike to the lodge where I believe you can still procure a nice meal (never tried it myself, but the lodge is nice). Anyway, great view from the top. A huge negative is that they do not allow any sliding device for going down and will fine you if caught on one, hence the loss of a star. Obviously a few idiots have ruined it for the rest of us...probably sliding into people. You can always slide down on your bum which I did and was chastised by a somewhat rude park employee (who I have no doubt would have fined me had I used a sliding aid) and warned that some have broken an ankle doing this which I must admit is possible if one is not sensible (going too fast, catching a crampon unprepared and not being able to absorb the deceleration). Against that I met another park employee who was full of joy and humor. This is also a great place to hike in the summer. Gorgeous view from the top plus great scenery along the way. Moderate difficulty. Starts with a steep section, then gradual elevation gain for quite a while, then steep near the end and really steep for the last bit.
A must in the winter if you like a large resort feeling without gaving to drive too far.Do not miss the view point on the way up. Winter activities include alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and snow shoeing. There is a pub at the lodge as well as a cafeteria.
Precursor: This is not a winter post Summer at Cypress Park is just unmatched in the Greater Vancouver area. The drive up the mountain is gorgeous with amazing views. There's a ton of mountain bike trails, hiking trails for all levels. The hike to the peak is a great hike be cautious of bear season though and it is a fairly long hike so plan accordingly! Saint Mark's Summit is a little easier and shorter and you get an outstanding view of Horseshoe Bay/Howe Sound. Picture posted is even from a foggy day, silent and peaceful being in the trees up the mountain. If your looking for somewhere to get away and enjoy some fresh air head up the mountain, when the weather is great it really feels like there's no other place to be!
Great ski resort.
28 kms hike along Howe sound crest trail
Good place to have a good look at Vancouver. A bit of a drive up the winding road. It's quite a nice drive though. Just don't miss the entrance, or you'll have to go all the way near Cypress to turn around.
It is a good place to spend some time and it is within a short drive from Vancouver. You can even see the mountain from Vancouver town itself. You can visit the park any season or at your leisure from Vancouver. The view from the region is beautiful and eye catching. The area is busy both in winter and summer. The winter season is for the skiing and the rest of the period is for the hikers.
No one and no sign showing the shuttle stopped running at 6:00pm! The slop have night skinning and shuttle is important for people park at lot B when carry ski equipment. We have to call the customer relationship just to find out the info, not even the people work in on the parking control.
Vet nice place with beautiful scenary.
Excellent hills with a lot of runs. If you come in the afternoon, part of the mountain will be closed. Also parking is a bit of a pain. You'll usually have to wait to find a spot or park really far away.
Amazing hike, well outlined boundaries and super views!
One of the best skiing spots in Vancouver. It is comparable to whistler on a smaller scale. If you come during sun set there is a beautiful lookout point at the very top.
A beautiful, must-see part of the Lower Mainland. The area is known for its multitude of winter sport offerings, including an ample selection of ski and snowboard runs catered to all skill levels. There's also a really great selection of trails for snowshoers, hikers, and cross-country skiers. While you'll get more out of your visit if you go during the winter months, the breathtaking, panoramic views offered of the surrounding areas make a visit at anytime of the year worthwhile.
It's beautiful anytime of year. Ski packages available for gift giving.
Did the snowshoeing tour with a guide (Tama) and she was absolutely fantastic at showing us around and educating the group. The tour was affordable and I think well-worth it, especially if it's your first time snowshoeing.
Great local mountain. It's good for quick trips and easy day trips. Lots of families with kids so if you are somewhat advanced, you'd want to be on the Raven chair. The Chalet has a good selection of food, snacks, and drinks. Parking situation is quite cumbersome but if you don't mind paying $10 you can park closer. Views are pretty spectacular.
Great views , parking can be a problem because of the popularity but good place for ski/snowboarding
Had amazing time exploring the hikes
This is a great place to go for a hike if you're not wanting to stray too far from the Vancouver area. There's a good selection of hikes, including St. Mark's Summit, which gives a spectacular view of Howe Sound and is one of my favourite local hikes. Hikes on the other side, like Eagle Bluffs/Black Mountain, give nice views of the city.
The most number of diverse runs for everyone, without going to Whistler and paying through the nose. Bring your gear. Rental was a bit understaffed, and skis were not waxed. Snow was easily getting stuck to them. Otherwise service was nice and people were working hard.
Great hiking trails outside of skiing season.
Parking lot was full at 11am on Monday,Sep 6. All trails are super busy.
Awesome local mountain, beautiful views
Mother nature made this place spectacular.
Great time snowshoeing through Black mountain and eagles bluffs. Decently challenging in the snow and great views throughout the trail and at the viewpoints. Highly recommended!
British Columbia has many nature parks and each one has their own unique beauty. One of them is the Cypress Provincial Park. The closer distance from the city of Vancouver makes it very popular to the ski lovers. The park has many parking places and almost all are large. As close as you go the peak of the mountain looks amazing. If you are a tourist then better hire a car. Without a car it is very difficult to explore the whole area. The view of Vancouver from the mountain gives you the soothing happiness of life.
Great hiking trails on Summer and downhill ski trails on Winter! Beautiful views from the road and from the top of the mountain.
I enjoyed the park overall. I didn't appreciate the amount of nature, especially the amount of trees. They ruin the view. If the park could clear most of the trees I will give it 5 stars.
Amazing place for Vancouver’s view and sunrise watching
Best place to go skiing in GVRD. Food is pretty ordinary in the Lodge though. Grouse mountain has much better food choices, though the skiing there isn't as good. 2 fast quad chairs take you up both mountains. Lots of vertical and something for beginner to advanced.
Great snow this season helps elevate this mountain. Night skiing is filled with gorgeous views spanning from Mount baker to Nanaimo with Vancouver in the middle. Perfect option for after work ski/board runs.
The best local hill if you're going up with your own vehicle, they have a parking shuttle which is nice if you come late in the weekends and have to park far away! Gets busy during its peak season but night skiing/riding is great too, when the weather cooperates.
Beautiful look out. Going back to see it at night!
Ideal for intermediate level, beautiful view
Always beautiful, no matter what time of year! Love hiking and snowshoeing here since it's so close to Vancouver - great for a day or half-a-day trip.
Nice mountain with some good ski slopes for beginners, but the staff are not always truthful about the skiing conditions when I phoned them and asked. I turned up expecting fresh snow but got ice...not ideal for a beginner like me!
Great place to snowshoe with my dogs. Hiker trail. Would have been 5 stars if the restaurant at the bottom of the trail had been open so I could have grabbed a hot chocolate.
Out of all the mountains, I think Cypress is the best for snowboarding. It has much better run than Seymour or grouse mountain. The snow making machine is more active than the other mountains. This means when other places has thin snow, icy runs, the condition on Cypress is often much better. It also opens earlier and closed latter compare to the other mountains.
The Cypress bowl viewpoint is one of my favorite places to go.
Cypress the ski center is a better than legitimate outing. The ski conditions are still decent, if a little saturated. The center foresees ending operations in eleven days. There are two decent mountains and an upper mountain. The entire terrain can be finished in two plus hours. For a local mountain one could do worse.
Spectacular retreat from the hustle of this busy season. Even with limited snow so far this year it is magical. Not officially open till next weekend so even less crowded and more enjoyable.
The best cypress park on cypress mountain! Be sure to check out the view points on the way up and down the mountain. Keep in mind it can be foggy in winter, which makes for a nice scary drive downhill at night...on a winding road!
Great park in the summer for hikes and the winter for skiing. Great views of the city and the sound
Came here for the Eagle Coaster ride. It's new for this year and will be a summer only attraction. So smooth and fast. Friendly energetic staff and not too busy. Go for 2 rides. The first one you're a little careful on the curves. You must go to the ticket office even if you have QR codes on your phone. They need better instructions or signage because I noticed a lot of people heading back after getting to the chairlift. That was the only inconvenience.
Awesome view on top of Black Mountain. Lovely hike to Cabin Lake.
We love ski and snowshoe
I went hiking in September in Cypress Provincial Park. The view was amazing. The last part of this trail is muddy.
The food in the cafeteria is a little over priced but the bar is decent and has really good service. The runs are great, even when not much is open the quality of the snow has been great this season and the signage around the park is good.
One of the magnificent beauty of the nature everyone should visit.
