Gorgeous gallery, beautiful beautiful and an interesting range of both historic and contemporary ceramic and glass work.

Learned to polish glass :)

A terrific place to visit for just a donation. Highly recommend it.

Nice small gallery

Great for older members of your family.

Giftshop is amazing. I'm always able to find something unique as gifts or for myself. Love the selection of Christmas ornaments.

Great staff and wonderful items and excellent gift shop other than prices but all items are locally and beautifully made.

Was stalked around by an uptight staff member as I browsed around. Very unprofessional, creepy, and just plain rude. Would not visit again

they have some interesting women's jewelry

A great place to spend a pleasant afternoon.

Always love the stuff I can find at the store here.

Beautiful building on the outside and grounds. Right near water and park.

We really enjoyed playing with Clay class

Some neat pieces of art here.

Nice small museum with a display gallery, they have a separate gallery with items for sale.

Pizza was amazing. Really friendly staff too

Very nice place to at least stop by and see. And it's free.

A great place to get unique gifts for special occasions. They have a wide range of price points and the woman working in the store helps you select individual pieces.

Right now there was a restructuring and part of it was closed but the shop was open where they group items by their creators and you can buy them.

Friendly and helpful staff Spacious exhibition Will definitely come to see it again

What a beautiful place. And the gift shop is incredible.

Fun, free, in an excellent location right beside the park. Well worth the visit if you have some time to spend in uptown.

This is an incredible place for buying unique items. Highly recommended for those who adore art work.

Very interesting place worthy of more recognition. Wish there was more advertising of new exhibits. Lovely shop with unique pieces for sale. A must-see.

Wonderful experience. Wish there was more to it than just the main exhibit

Interesting display of local art

Lovee it

Great selection of art on display

The art here is gorgeous and nearly all is from very local artists. You'll find jewelry, wall art, hanging ornaments, hanging glass art, functional and decor pottery. This is one of my go-tos for gifts for anyone (even bought a beautiful glass paperweight and a suncatcher for my daughters). The only downside (so 4 instead of 5 stars) is that, while the staff have been amazing for the most part, the last time I was there a man made me feel so little and judged. I'm not even sure what for, but Im guessing that, as a cyclist with a defined budget looking for something for a child, maybe I wasn't the preferred customer? Again, there are many incredible people there but I can't guarantee a universally warm reception and feeling welcome is important to me.

Amazing art and very friendly and helpful staff !

A Serene beautiful place you can go through in three minutes or three hours! The perfectly sized gallery and shop blended together just like clay and water ❤️

I have seen some of the best art of my life here, better than Paris and all Canadian. Beautiful fragility.

Sara Hall's exposition was fantastic! Great exposition for those who seek to learn something new about art and the meaning behind the most iconic glass art pieces in the country.

Excellent clay and glass gallery with knowledgeable and friendly personnel

I love the gallery. Exhibits change regularly and address always interesting. Entrance fee by donation makes it affordable for everyone. It's a great introduction to galleries for young kids as it's not huge and very visually engaging (though they can't run around on their own).

I love going here. Also the store is great for the occasional gift.

Fabulous gallery with lots of beautiful work

A unique facility in a town built by engineers and insurance wizards. A facility celebrating the art of mud and fire, of skilled hands and an artistic eye. It's in the shadow of the Perimeter Institute, where the geeks of the world hang out and chant their formidable theorems. The Clay and Glass Gallery is a wonderful antidote, a place to honour hands and mud. Whew, such a relief!

Amazing work from artists with a cute gift shop

Love all the art on desplay

Great building lots to do in the area

Recommend it alot !!

Beautiful place and awesome staff!

Fancy little art gallery with free admission. You can spend an hour or so admiring the exhibitions. They also have temporary exhibitions from time to time. There is a shop as well where you can buy really pretty glass and clay things.

Beautiful to look at nice gift shop.

There's Clay! There's Glass! Obviously. That's why people come here. They also host other cool events here as well. The lack of a helicopter pad is the only downside to this venue.

Great ceramic art in modern building. Beautiful.

Nice building with a multitude of unique glass pieces mostly for decor but also glasses, etc

Beautiful art!! And general great service from staff

Opened my eyes to a world of clay and glass artistry!

Interesting place

Was very beautiful and enjoyed seeing the stained glass. There's a lot of history to learn and also you can buy something like glass figurines and clay pots to bring home. Very nice place and would go there again! Enjoy! :)

This is the premier gallery for clay and glass artwork from across Canada. Not to be missed!

Loved it

We were there within posted hours on the door but not open. If you are gonna change your hours change your signs. Dont be so lazy

Lovely place to look at and discover clay and glass art. They change exhibits frequently so you can see the various talented artist. And, the gift shop is super.

Awesome

If you like glass art this is for you

I thought of this gallery as of a place my grandma would be thrilled to visit. However I received an invitation to come and see some of the works. An invitation I could not turn down. Surprisingly I must admit there were a lot of pieces to be seen and to be talked about. I will probably not visit again but still - I recommend the place.

Very cool space, and free admission. I'd always meant to go in, and now I'll definitely go back. Sounds like they have regular exhibits, and this is their 25th anniversary. Lots of ceramic and glass artists sell their work here.

Beautiful exhibits. Wonderful gift shop. But best of all is Freda ????

Beautiful!

I recommend the clay workshops if you're looking for something to do in Waterloo. It's $20/person and covers a couple of sessions (making/shaping, colouring/glazing). The workshops are very kid-friendly.

Really nice little place! Not a whole lot to see, at least not when I went, but it was a pleasant experience. Spent about an hour there

Wonderful place to visit and it's completely free! Love the little art shop inside.

Great place to find so many ceramics and many luxurious but usefully decorative household items. In the lobby, you will find a lot of cups that are useful in especially dining areas of your home. On the left of the lobby is where students who come to wait this place on an art field trip can drop off their stuff as there are coat hangers and hooks for items there. There are also historical items located to the far left of the lobby giving some context of each item and how it originated. Larger art structures can be located in the room straight of the lobby where there is also a little presentation that has a sign leading "Look Inside". Overall, this place is marvelous if you want to buy yourself some ceramics for the kitchen or just for decoration. Historic in its form of art too.

Stunning architecture, really excellent activities - play with clay is wonderful.

Absolutely stunning little gallery, the exhibits seem to fluctuate often. I went with my family during the summer and admission was free, and the place was basically empty. There are no ropes or glass blocking from anything on display, so you can get right up close to see all the pieces—definitely worth a stop! Don’t forget to check out the gift shop even if you don’t plan on buying, the pieces in there are just as beautiful too.

What a gem! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. At no charge, I wandered for about an hour. The pieces are unique and from local artists. The gift shop has lovely pieces, all my local artists.

It's nice, very small, but as a free thing to do, definitely something you should check out.

Very interesting architecture, good location for walking around visiting attractions nearby, very modern exhibits, large gift shop, free admission with donations accepted.

Very nice museum has a lot more aboriginal art than first thought :)

Worth a visit since it's free and one of the only things to do in the area. Located conveniently near Waterloo park (one of the only other things), there's a small but well curated collection of Canadian clay and glass objects here. I think they also have classes for children (which sounded fun based on the laughing we heard roaming around the rest of the gallery). A great deal of beautiful objects for sale in the gift shop as well, which support the location artistic talent. Don't go in with too high an expectation (since it's free and quite small) and you won't be disappointed.

This is a wonderful place to visit. Bring you're wallet with you. Everything is for sale. I purchased one of a kind handmade jewelry ???? earings

Interesting gallery to spend a couple of hours, absolutely free, features Canadian ceramic artists. Wonderful shop, where one can buy a unique gift.

Nice place with a gallery but I go there mostly to pick up one of a kind presents for Christmas and birthdays.

Clay play glass perfect for grandma and Ava!

Wonderful experience for all the ages. Beautiful gallery and the gift shop. Highly recommend to all.

We went on family day and not only were they open, but they had free activities for the kids....and the adults too. :)

Wonderful gallery with an amazing gift shop, friendly helpful staff!

Attended a charity event at the museum and was quite impressed by the architecture and exhibits on display.

An interesting place to see and the interesting items on display make it the best

Always a pleasure to visit alone or with a friend for an activity to do.

Been going there for years. A WATERLOO treasure for the unique artistic finds.

staff are friendly

Lovely gallery with cool pieces.

It's a nice gallery with cool stuffs. Also it's free.

Local gem in the heart of Kitchener/ Waterloo. Very well maintained place with friendly staff.

“Play with Clay” is a cool event I suggest attending anyone who likes doing crafts/with kids who enjoy making stuff themselves!

A beautiful space and gift shop. I highly recomend the play with clay workshop led by Rachel.

Play with clay session was a ton of fun! Incredibly beautiful pieces inside.

Lots of one of a kind jewellery for that special someone.

Nice place to see

Colorful place, Great room for Continental and Contemporary art. Some pieces are cosmic????

very Artistic stuff.. Once in a while you can visit..

Franny the volunteer was a delight to speak with

The ceramics are gorgeous. My favourite present.

Lovely little gallery near the institute. Ideal for some peace and contemplation after the noise of the park.

Love the place. The shop has very creative original stuff by clay and glass artists and the exhibitions are very educative

If you are a local, or visiting the area, you must visit this gallery! Whether you frequent places of fine art of not, the creations here will blow your mind. A chance to experience the work of local and international artists, and read their bios and stories. My mind was already blown away by the beautiful pottery and glass when I realised, I hadn't even entered the gallery yet. I was just in the gallery store. The gallery itself contains some ancient pieces and unbelievable exhibits. Go enjoy this gallery and leave feeling inspired by what humans are capable of. (also the building its self is a piece of art. )

Wonderful art gallery. Had a calming effect when I visited there.

Excelente place!!!

Beautiful and serene museum

This free gallery is a real gem. Rotating exhibits of contemporary art in ceramics, glass and mixed medium plus a gorgeous gift shop with ceramic art, glassware and jewelry.

Beautiful works of art and a great gift shop

We used the Clay & Glass gallery for our wedding reception August 2017. We worked with William the events coordinator. He was very helpful and accommodating. They space was perfect for our dinner. The space offered a sophisticated atmosphere. And we were able to customize the drink menu and decor. Highly recommend the venue for anyone looking to have a customized wedding.

I been so many times. It was special & beautiful just because everything else is dark right now

Interesting gallery with a variety of art styles from different ceramicists, as well they have a shop full of unique products. I also enjoy the hands on sessions with clay where you can make and glaze your own pottery!

Great selection. Place to get a unique gift that will be treasured. Supporting Canadian artists.

Great place to experience contemporary Canadian silica arts (clay and glass). Fabulous gift shop.

Quite and calming. The place offers some great art pieces for you to look at and the gift shop has some interesting items up for grabs!!

Support local talent!!!!

Great place for everyone e to visit

Nice to see

Wonderful shop bought nice piece

Absolutely loved this place! Great spot! I volunteered for a class field trip here, and the grade 6s were fascinated by it. As volunteers, all we did with them was ask questions like how they felt about an art piece, what they thought it meant, and how they would change it, etc. The kids loved giving their opinions and they were very curious!! There was a tour guide that answered questions about the pieces. The kids were fascinated by the clay wall with 365 pieces made in a year. The kids also sculpted various animal faces out of clay that the place was going to fire later. So glad I went! It was very interesting to me too! There was a violent (or about death) section of art that the place almost closed off as well. It wasn't viewed by our kids. That wasn't my favourite part.

We loved it

Cute , bit small but nice !

ok

Beautiful items

This is a must see and it's free gift shop itself is like a museum.

Went for a clay lesson. It was fun!

Nice and interesting. Good for children

Beautiful art work. Not as big as I thought and I wish it had some activities to do.

Full of clay and glass, the name does not do it justice. There is so much clay and glass, and best part is, it's all art, the whole thing. You can wander, mosey, stroll, and view all the art you want. There's tons of it to observe and think about. You can think anything really. I mostly thought about clay and glass.

Beautiful place for a wedding and lots to purchace

It has a wonderful collection of art, and very friendly staff to answer all your questions. Unique collection..!

(Translated) There are so many beautiful things, good accessibility and the best thing is free! (Original) 예쁘장한게 많고 접근성 좋고 가장 좋은 것은 무료라는점!

Really unique place with wonderful work.

Great gallery. So many beautiful pieces of artwork to admire, and purchase at the gift shop. The Play with Clay workshop is a great opportunity to put your own creativity to the test! Have so far attended two sessions, I'm sure I will take part in more in the future! A great way to spend an afternoon with some friends!

Best place to visit, do not miss this place ❤️

This place is the jewel of cultural attractions in Waterloo, showcasing breathtaking Canadian craftsmanship & artistry, and best of all, it's free to enjoy! The gift shop is as much of a show-stopper as the exhibits, so if you have the means, put the money you saved on admission and take home a piece of the gallery for yourself.

There's not a lot to see for such an enormous building it was very underwhelming. What was there was pretty cool.

Beautiful pieces in the shop.

Been a fan of glass art for years, so the current exhibit with Susan Edgerly was a real treat for me.

The staff/volunteers are so kind and welcoming. Love all my visits for gifts andbti check out the gallery.

Very nice building, expo and gift shop.

Fantastic exhibits and items for sale.
