Love this store and love their clothing. Great local company with a focus on sustainability and local designs. The store is open and bright with a variety of clothing throughout. It runs on the higher side for price but the quality and sustainability make it worth every dollar.

Awful product service. I took in a new hoodie with a broken zipper to be fixed and was told it would take 2 weeks to fix. It has now been 7 weeks and still no hoodie. I both phoned and went into the store and no one can locate my hoodie. I keep getting told that the lady will be in on Monday but never get a call or email. This is extremely upsetting and unacceptable. If I had known it would take this long I would have paid to have it done myself and probably would have got it back in the same day. And they want to charge me a shipping fee as I live out of town but as it's been so long they should be the ones to cover this cost. Do not take your product here to be fixed. You will be waiting for months to have them fix it and find it.

I just rediscovered Ecologyst. I have bought two shirts from them this year (one organic cotton and on merino wool) and they are of the highest quality. They instantly became my two favourite shirts. It's a good thing merino doesn't stink because I haven't taken it off in a few days (kidding... Or am I?). 10/100% recommend this company and their mission.

Ecologyst is the best! Every piece I’ve ever bought somehow instantly feels like an old time favourite. The clothing is durable and comfortable, and seems to get better with age:). I really want to give Ecologist five stars, I love the quality of their products, I like their business model. But their customer service absolutely sucks. Want to do a return or exchange? Better have the order number otherwise it is impossible. Did you order online? The order number is written on a post card included in the box. Better make sure if it doesn't get recycled. Is it a gift? Better make sure the giver saved all the info or you are out of luck. Did you guys get this system from a cereal box? This is a pretty poor way to treat customers, especially ones who just want to exchange for a different size. I was actually going to take part in their investment program, but this kind of a abysmally designed system is a massive red flag. Buyer beware.

Went in store to do a quick size swap on a Christmas gift - still in the box with the original tags attached - and was told that their system won't honour exchanges without the original order number. Obviously I don't have this as it was a gift to me. Meanwhile the shirt is now on sale and running out of stock, so by the time I get the actual order number tracked down and go back, it will be gone. What's the point of buying local if your experience is reduced to a computer interaction?

I’ve always been a big fan of Sitka. Yeah their clothing is a little expensive, but it’s made locally in BC and is really good quality. Sitka’s customer service is also fantastic. Recently I ordered some more clothing online and emailed due to a slight delay. Ordered on the 29th and it showed up on the 9th. I emailed to ask about the order as it usually came within a few days. They emailed me right away to say they were just waiting on one shirt to come. Entire order showed up 2 days later. They included a gift item that was valued around $50. They did not have to do that. They also usually put some stickers and other small gift items with a personal message. Nice touch. Great customer service.

Classic Vancouver Island surf brand. Has always been fairly expensive, and the quality used to really suck, but has gotten much better and more consistent. Cool variety of housewares and great for gifts/souvenirs.

Cool store with real Islander vibe to it. It’s local , it’s pacific north west , and you pay for it. I would say item quality is quite high with most pieces. Clothing and houseware ( candles , enamel ware, soaps, and jewelry ) are items you prob won’t find anywhere else but starting to see trend of just the $itka Tree getting stamped on everything. I like the fact no paper copies once you are in the system, and bags are optional. I would purchase from here again, and prob would more if prices were more down to earth.

Although my experience here started with good service I ended up very disappointed and feeling ripped off. I had tried on a pair and pants from the sale rack that were marked $60 and I was told were 40% off, when inwent to pay for them I was charged the full marked price plus taxes for a total of $67. When I questioned the price I was told they had already been marked down. I stated that there was only one price on the item and nothing to indicate that it had already been marked down. I asked if they could offer any additional discount or even include a free store bag as some kind of compensation and was told that they would not. We continued shopping at other stores and all of our sales purches were clearly indicated on the receipt what the regular price of the item was, what diacount had been given, and how much had been saved. I was told this store only gives out email reciepts and upon checking the receipt when I got back to where we were staying I could see that it had only one price included and no indication of any discounts. On closer inspection I could also see that the price sticker of $60 covered one that had a suggested retail price of $55. I returned to the store to state my case and that in the spirit of good customer service I felt that they should honor the 40% discount as I have no evidence that I received any discount on the item. I was told that they would not offer any discount, but I could return the item for a refund. To me this is extremely poor customer service as I tried to resolve this matter in the store twice, and I would not be getting an item I wanted to buy and the store would be losing a sale. I still think that they can fairly resolve this matter, but until then I would not shot at Sitka again.

I saw the Sitka tree sticker on a window at a surf hostel in Nicaragua. I'm from Canada but live abroad and I thought "dam that reminds me of home". So i checked out the website, grabbed some candles and soap etc... I had help from Charlotte when it came to coordinating sending it to me and when they learned I was away from the mother land they tucked in a few extra goodies to help with home sickness ;) Love this company and think they're awesome!

Outstanding clothing, staff, and customer service. The article I purchased for a gift seems extremely comfortable and of great workmanship. Looking for clothes for myself now haha The items are more expensive than 'regular stores' that are popular but that's because ecolgyst seems to make sure everyone in the process gets a fair wage, not just the top. Definitely worth the necessary increased price in my opinion. Will for sure be back to buy more
