Amazing experience! Worth every penny! All the tanks were very well kept and clean, amazing creatures, and quite a few separate exhibits. I expected 2-3 but was met with like 6 when I got there (happy surprise)

ifeyanishaminya

This was definitely one the highlights of my trip. They had plenty of animals from around the world inlcluding the lovable California Sea Otters, numerous exhibits, and even a tropical rainforest with ducks and monkeys! Will be coming back in the future!

Awesome experience for the entire family. Our 6 month old couldn't get enough of the jellyfishes. A must visit if you have small children. Also educational and conversational regarding the amount of plastics, and the manner of which they're introduced into the oceans.

A great-family friendly activity that offers you the opportunity to see marine wildlife up close. The animals are rescue animals that either can't be rehabilitated or will be rehabilitated and released. A great means of teaching young children the importance of environmental stewardship in a digestible, socially responsible way. Somewhat related, this isn't Marineland, so don't expect the animals to do tricks beyond simple play and training required for their regular physicals. Also, the marine section is outside, so plan for the weather. Lastly, the aquarium is conveniently located in Stanley Park, close to the train and the rose garden (and far from the coyotes). Take the bus in or ride a bike so you can park and do a bit of hiking afterwards.

I love aquariums and make a point to visit them in whatever country I’m visiting, the Vancouver Aquarium is superb. The have a wide variety of sea animals and some land animals too. I LOVE the tropic section, it’s my favorite. They have massive fish (I don’t know their name sadly) that are front and center when you walk in, super impressive. I also enjoyed their two sloths and few smaller monkeys. Make sure to check out the clown fish and eel whom is hidden in a dark tank. Outside you’ll find rescued sea lions, harbor and fur seals, and some penguins. Their dolphin (Helen), who has the best personality, is moving to live with a pod at a different location. So, hurry in and see her soon!

Amanda Stewart

So fun! Loved all of the indoor and outdoor exhibits. The jellyfish were really cool so stare at. Outdoors they had sea otters and other larger creatures. A little pricey but it’s clear your dollars are going to a good cause.

Helene Childs

Please increase your hours!! It's impossible to get there during the week! Also what happened to the evening events?? Love it if you brought them back!! :)

Nnif Boots47

This place is super fun (unless you hate abourable otters) and there is alot to see and do there this Aquarium is not only fish there are penguins otters sea lions etc. One time I went there I took lots of photos and decided to make a slideshow. P.s. I cant figure out how to add a video if anyone knows please tell me.

Leanne

This is the best aquarium I have been to in Canada. The jellyfish displays are absolutely incredible and breathtaking. The outdoor exhibits are interactive and informative. The grounds are gorgeous; so natural yet beautifully manicured. The “4D” cinema ride is a great added touch. It’s worth every penny to come here. I have spent hours and hours here without tiring of the exhibits. Love the Vancouver aquarium ???? ***IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL KINDLY “LIKE” IT***

Very fun place to go to with family and friends. So fascinating. Lots of things to see. The amazon area was too hot. I enjoyed the sea lions and the collections of jellyfish. Lots of fishes I wished I can take them home.

Kassie Dwarika

Really nice aquarium, the penguins outside are adorable! It was a bit smaller than I expected but I would go back! The jelly fish were magical!

Melissa Fong

First time back since the renovation and it's a bit bigger and more spacious than before. It's one of the nicest aquariums I have been to. Food options are great as they offer a variety of vegetarian and gluten free options as well as options for those who like their burger and fries. Coffee was good as well. A bit crowded as we got here when they just opened and families are all going in at the same time but once you get through everyone spacious out. Only complaint is that the admission fair and some food option prices are quite high.

If you are in Vancouver then visiting Vancouver Aquarium is a must thing for you. You will see mind blowing aquatic beauty plus they will teach you about marine life conservation. Aquarium ticket is 39 CAD but it’s worth going there you will be getting real-time marine life views also don’t forget to watch the 4d movie in the amphitheater it will further enhance your experience. I loved the experience I had after going to Vancouver Aquarium. Hope you too like it go worth watch it. Best part is the Vancouver Aquarium is in the premise of Stanley Park.

Lis Marie

Such a great aquarium! It's a great size and even has a little theatre for specialized movies! I love walking around and seeing all the animals and they have a big variety as well; it's worth a trip to explore with some attractions inside and some outside!

Skye Aho

Great place for all ages! So much to see and learn. Will have you saying "wow look!" over and over again

Christina Amy Morris

I have a membership pass for my littles and I and we love going to the aquarium and learning about the animals. They are still doing the touch ponds which is a big hit for kids.

Wayne Fullen

My fiancée and I make a point of going to aquariums in cities that we visit and I can say that this one is easily one of the top ones that we’ve visited. The place was clean and staff were attentive and friendly. This aquarium is unique in that it has indoor and outdoor portions (for the larger animals) as well as a rainforest exhibit. For future visitors - skip the lines by either buying tickets in advance or use the express ticket kiosks.

Kingphaka Chompooja

Amazing place I fall in love with the sealife , I couldn't get out of here so beautiful and breathtaking . Highly recommend, please visit and you will continue to come here again and again. Amazing place for nature lovers! Enjoy the time and please don't miss it. Get ready for the camera and capture the best photos and vedio!!!???? Cheers!!

Aimee Banagan

The Vancouver Aquarium was absolutely amazing. It was great to see all kinds of animals. I just love going to them. This aquarium was pretty big. I loved all the shows they had. The dolphin show was great. I did get hungry in between. I got some chicken fingers and fries. It was very good. The typical finger food. Other than that it was just amazing to see all the sea creatures. It’s definitely a nice tourist spot to go to.

Lisa H

A must for locals and tourists! This aquarium houses so many species and the layout is very easy to navigate so you can always go back to your favourite animals. The rainy day didn't dampen the fun at all!

Deepthi Vasishta

Really good! Vancouver aquarium is a fun place for kids as well. Don’t miss the stellar sea lions and the activities they do. It is also located in Stanley park. So you can checkout more than just the aquarium.

mona aldarabie

Very nice place with variety of sea creatures. It also have penguins, sea lions and seals. Its not big but you will definitely enjoy it.

Ted Liu

If it's your first time in Vancouver be sure to check out the Aquarium. I don't give it full 5 star because it's lacking what it's supposed to carry, namely Beluga, Killer Whale and dolphins. Those animals should be the main attraction rather than sea lions, elephants and seals. Because seriously when you spend that much money $42 per adult to come and visit an aquarium that's the animals you should be expected to see! Being a local I rarely visit the aquarium but without those mammals you'll be disappointment. They should really look up to Sea World in USA and learn from capitalism! Pandemic response is mediocre and very difficult to social distance if impossible due to indoor situation, but thankfully vaccine check is right at the door so you feel a more comfortable when handling large crowds. Of course they should check given COVID-19 pandemic still here! Kudos to Aquarium for doing everything they can to keep families save! Hand sanitizer readily available but some ran out due to much use so bring your own! In some area air conditioning was lacking so hopefully they'll improve in future! When you park make sure you purchase whole day parking instead of 3 hours because man do they check parking on the clock and will ticket you $45 for any latent violation! Besides the parking is good everywhere in the park so you're free to park anywhere you wish to visit all fantastic viewpoint around the park!

James Garnett

I love aquariums and this one did not disappoint. My gold standard for such places is the Seattle aquarium, which is magnificent; this one is a little smaller, hence the four stars instead of five. However, it is significantly cheaper, too. I spent a fun day here, and would definitely go back. The location is excellent, too: once you're done with the aquarium, you can get tea and lunch in the park, and then stroll along the seashore.

Shannon Tate

A wide variety of marine life from all over the world can be found here. This aquarium has both inside and outside exhibits that are accessible from the upper and lower flowers of the main building. Easy to navigate and a great family-friendly environment. This is a great all-day experience!

C

Be warned parking is not free, we got a $40 ticket. Staff were abundant and very knowledgeable, especially the dolphin training lady. The exhibits were well maintained and as a pet fish owner myself they all looked rather happy! The 4D theatre is pretty cool (included in price of admission) and is a must see for kids or adults who've never experienced one before (you will get squirted with mist and bubbles but the 3D glasses keeps your eyes protected). When I was here there were way too many kids and it was rather hectic but I suspect that isn't normal. It was $38 admission per person to get in not including the $2 optional donation which gets you a sticker and bragging rights. Bring your own drinks if possible as pricing for snacks and beverages is pretty high. Hats, sunglasses and maybe sunscreen should be taken into consideration when packing as it can get hot outside near the dolphin and otter exhibits. Overall I enjoyed my experience here but I feel that parking should be part of the admission to save time and unnecessary tickets.

Laura McNaughton

The Vancouver Aquarium is awesome! The ambassador creatures and the information about various ecosystems and creatures is super. The focus on British Columbia marine ecosystems is fantastic. I could spend all day just hanging out with the seals and sea lions - in fact I nearly did! I just wish it wasn't quite so expensive - that makes it just that much less accessible.

Mattis Games

It's a very nice aquarium and it's well maintained. There are also lot's of activities for kids to join.

Jessica Trottier

Curb side pick up was great lots of parking but a little confused cause their no signs for the loading zone it's painted on the ground on your left when driving by the aquarium. Expensive gift shop but cool place.

Carsten Pladsbjerg

Absolutely amazing aquarium! It’s such a well maintained facility. Friendly staff all around, lots to see and do and a must do in Vancouver. Some might think it’s a bit expensive but once you are inside and see everything you’ll agree it was well worth it.

Fabio Lopes

This was such good surprise as it’s such a friendly place to visit and with so much to see! It’s super family and kids friendly and their initiative to recycle and reuse materials in order to protect marine life is incredible. Almost zero plastic is used in their cafeteria and for me that’s a big plus! The research work is incredible and transparent throughout the entire visit where you’ll have the chance to see a dolphin, sea lions and seals, penguins and sea otters amongst other animals and plants! I was skeptical at first but ended up having the beat day of my holiday in Vancouver!

Justin Sharick

Nicest aquarium I've ever been to. Huge variety of exhibits with tons to see and do and in a beautiful spot in Stanley Park.

Meng Xu

Best aquarium in the North American region! The ticket price is totally worth it. It’s has huge amount of species and a lot more interactions than other aquariums. The sea lions and sea otters are must see.

Mike Surbey

So much fun for all ages. We saw so many aquatic creatures. It was an all inclusive experience never thought I needed to pay more because I felt left out. Be careful of the jellyfish area it is hypnotic, time will go by faster than you expect

Mary Macri

Really nice to visit especially with kids

Ashley J

We had a great day! My son loved the fish. I only wish that they offered deals, or coupons. It's very pricey for a whole family to go. We would go way more often if it were more affordable. That being said, I realize it costs money to take care and feed the animals.

Jennefer Boudreau

I really enjoy coming here. I do so once or twice a year, and especially enjoy the After Hours evenings where there are no children =p The space is well maintained and their displays/exhibits are nice. Yes- the admission fees can seem a bit pricey but if you think about all the work VanAqua puts towards research and conservation then I think it's justified. They are quite transparent with their spending and you can find out their financials right on their website.

Yvette

Loved sharing my Day at B.C. Aquarium for a Day with my daughter and my four-year-old granddaughter who was totally thrilled educated and had a wonderful play area. And which include aprons and a big boat in which you would pretend she was the captain of sea to give the children and added experience of becoming a scientist and ecologist it was a great day had by!!!!!

Kelsey W

We have been to the Aquarium many times but were very disappointed with the LACK of Covid safety in place. They state on their website that they limit the number of people entering at one time to keep safer distances but this is simply not true. Today was so over crowded it was very clear they are not limiting people to follow Covid regulations. I will not be going back until it is made safer for families.

Aom Hildebrand

So much fun! So many things to see so a couple hours passed by so fast. I can't count how many times my babies said "wow" lol.. Their first time there and they said momma, I had so much fun today, can we please come back again? Of course, we will! Love jellyfish!! The staffs were so nice, so friendly and informative.

M. Tse

I am a member of the Vancouver Aquarium and brought a friend to enjoy the promotion of free entrance of this week! Just go online and book the time you are going! Great fun!

john callen

Originally planned for an outside activity that day. Well it was pouring down rain, so why not go to the aquarium. Made an excellent choice....you'll see plenty, the fact that there are sea lions, otters, dolphins plus bazillions of fish & reptiles made it a very enjoyable experience. Kid's really enjoyed the time.

Mark Wong

It's time to invest in new attractions. Over the past two years, my family have been coming and only to find out that displays of live animals are getting less and there isn't much being added. The Aquarium's direction will need to be adjusted in order to attract further membership renewals.

smells fishy

Very cool! If you are going to the Amazon Rainforest section, look closely at the trees and you might see the sloth. However, I think the tickets should be cheaper.

Chester Umbalin

I'm so happy this place reopened, and just in time for our trip. So much fun, especially with our 2yo. He was amazed with everything. Also, I'm fairly happy they don't have captive whales anymore either, but plenty of critters still to view.

Jaime V

You go expecting to see just aquatic life but leave having been through entire biomes. We came very specifically to see the otters but were drawn in so many different directions. We spent almost 2 hours here and could easily go back again.

Michael Wu

It's little bit far away from the closest bus stop. If you have airlines staff certificate, you'll get a free ticket. But they would still ask you to "donate" CAD 10... What a joke~. This place is not big at all. And actually they got plenty of land animals here. Not bad if you wanna have an educational tour for 2 hrs. They have some sea lion feeding show. And there is a free movie, too. Basically speaking, You won't find out anything too surprising. But it's also not bad to take a look~.

Addictive Brain

The place is great with lots of aquatic animals. Also there are monkeys, an Anaconda, penguins, seals and Sea Lions. My toddler had a great time visiting & seeing all the animals. If you are a fan of sharks & whales, you will be …

Sierra Pitt

Looooove the aquarium, so sad they’re closed but I truly hope they’ll weather this storm and open up again!! I was truly blown away and did not expect to have such a wonderful day here! It’s more than an aquarium with an Amazon rainforest section (which was so spot on btw!!! They even had my favorite tree from when I went to the Amazon!) and a bat section! 10/10 Family friendly and fun for all ages

Nicholas Quintillan

I've been here many times in the past decade. I tend to visit the Aquarium at least twice a year to support their efforts. I've also attended several corporate events on site, which have all been phenomenal. You'll definitely have a good time and the service is friendly. My only major point of negativity is that the venue is quite small, especially given that it's located in a coastal city. I've been to grander Aquariums in the desert. The prices are also quite high. With that said, however, I don't mind spending more to help out. Overall, I would recommend a visit. Hopefully they can return to business soon.

MANN Niyati

Have you ever addicted to something? Well I got addicted to this aquarium. One thing I am a nature and animal lover second there no second reason lol I just love it. So if you’re going on a date I recommend you this place if you’re married and having kids ???????? take them along it’s a wonderful place to learn about our sea. We are living on a planet which is mostly covers with sea so it’s important to learn about it. So take them there increase their knowledge forget about the date you can go tomorrow anyway.

Kevin Budree

Great place to learn about the oceans and see the animals that need our help. Also a great place to people watch and secretly judge them. Oh and lots of kids, super fun if you don't have kids.

Nia Louis

Great place to spend at least 2 hours looking at all the amazing creatures and learn about them. I had a really good experience.

Aylish Purcell

Absolutely the best aquarium I've been to. Wasn't too busy or overcrowded to get a chance to see all of the animals, shows and activities with the animals were plentiful. Staff are friendly and interactive, with the animals seeming well cared for and not over-extended with frequent or demanding performances/shows. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Stanley Park

Igésia RBC

This place it is great for adults and children. I believe it is a relaxing experience. I am from Brazil and I was impressed with the variety of aquatic species from Amazon they have. It can easily take 3 hours to see this place. The parking structure close to the front entry is small but there is a huge area around the aquarium where you can park (get ready to walk). They have a 4D cinema inside and a variety of activities like presentations and touching species.

Gaurav Bansal

One of the Best placed to visit in Vancouver. Just costs CAD38 and you experience a plethora of aquatic life species. There are many sections for different life forms. There are many events as well. I was fortunate to watch the 4D whale video, live performances by the dolphins, followed by the sea lions and the walrus. There were more more performances. I had budgeted two hours but ended up spending 4+ hours here. There's lots to do and totally worth your time. Do check their website.

Laura Barr

This place was so much more than I expected! I'm a huge animal lover, if alllllll kinds! And there was SO much to see here! We eventually ram out of time so we sort of rushed through some parts but it was still one of the best experiences! I very highly recommend going!

Paige Turko

Absolutely loved my time here! Such a wonderful place to spend a rainy day. Lots of informative readings and the staff were lovely! Sharing interesting facts as we went along. One of the best days of my trip.

Arjan Jianfar

had fun for a few hours checking all their exhibits. great place for kids and adults to learn more about our impact on aquatic life and environment.

Christopher L

Went on a Thursday afternoon so it wasn't too crowded. Can definitely keep distance from others. Plenty of hand sanitizers. Animals were active and playful. Water was a bit murky which reduced visibility which is a shame. 4D show times were only listed in the aquarium so hard to plan around. Santa diving times were not listed anywhere so I missed out on that

Cedar Taylor

My grandparents used to volunteer here so I've been going for years, and it's so amazing and inspiring to see how they've improved and the renovations that have been made. The staff care so much about the animals, and care goes into every piece of this establishment, from environmentally friendly packaging on their food to the make of the products in their gift shop. I recently went on a rainy Wednesday with my boyfriend, and it was the slowest I've ever seen it! It was tranquil and peaceful as we strolled through the aquarium, enjoying seeing the fish and staff more relaxed than how it would be on more chaotic days. I will continue to love and support the Vancouver Aquarium for as long as they continue to care for and appreciate ocean life as much as I do.

Jeffrey Michaud

I always enjoy the aquarium its worth visiting once a year, the rotating exhibits are always top notch. Some exhibits are due for some overhaul but overall it's a fun outing with some simple animal shows and touch tanks. Cost was 40$ for an adult.

Lucas Lima

I paid $110 dollars for two adults and one child just to not be able to see anything clearly because there were hundreds of people there even though there were time slots. We also went specifically to see Santa under the water, yet he wasn’t there and we were told he only does that twice a day which had already passed. No where on the website does it say that Santa only swims twice a day so it’s a total waste of a lot of money.

I K (Kira)

What a great place to visit with children! My son went on two rounds and didn’t want to leave after 5 hours! Lol Staff is friendly and informative. So many things to see and if we lived in Vancouver I’d definitely purchase a year pass to entertain little one on rainy days.

Terry Greatsly

Must see attraction. I had not been in years. They made a number of improvements including a 4D Theatre that's included in the entry price. For residents and longer term visitors, the yearly passes are the best buy considering you'll get free entrance after the second visit! Plus, VANAQUA is a non-profit, entrance and membership goes towards preserving the marine world, research and improvements. Staff are friendly and appear to enjoy working there. Nice experience, took a ton of pictures. If you are looking for dancing killer whale tricks, this is not the place. They have moved away from that in the past decade. Watch the movie "Black Fish" if you are interested in that stuff and you probably won't be afterwards. Really enjoyed rediscovering the Vancouver Aquarium after decades.

Kiera T

The aquarium is always a lovely visit, definitely missing having whales and dolphins but everything else was amazing! Here have a sneak peak at a frog species there!

Miranda Green

The aquarium is awesome we had a wonderful day. Accessibility is great, lots of good washrooms and fun exhibits.

K Alejandra Abraham

One of the best aquariums that I have visited in the world, the most important part about this aquarium is that they are worried about pollution water and they have a lot of interesting information about it. Also they have activities and shows in different schedules. The cost is high, but it worth it if you contribute a little for the care of the environment with it.

Camellia Chen

Worth spending at least two hours here. Very friendly customer service- when I lost the direction, always had someone came to help :) I missed the sea otters the first time, I guess it's because the seal is so vocal, you may be attracted by them lead to passing the otters. And don't miss the downstairs multiple frogs! The 4D experience was fun, every 20mins/session and there is a kids’ playing area around the cinema.

Melissa N

Not cheap as far tourist attractions. But always fun educational and great add on if you're already in Stanley park. Bring your own snacks if you can to avoid buying food and a reuseable water bottle. As well be sure to check the show times to help plan your visit!

Kevin Chen

Nice medium-sized aquarium. A lot of exhibits and active sea otters. Didn't expect land animals like monkeys and a sloth!

Jason Tribbiani

This is the place you CANNOT miss when you visit Stanley Park. ****avoid weekends or long weekend****. For faster entering please get you Tim’s online or get membership(best price, if you are going to visit for more than twice with a year. One year / three year membership options) please check online or counter for details. In the aquarium you can see a lot of animals such as penguins, sea lions, beavers, dolphins, Fishes, frogs.....and etc. You could almost spend whole day here with your families especially with kids. Vancouver aquarium does have two cafes which you can have a quick bite or drink while you are spending quality time here, also few gift shops for you to get some souvenirs for kids to remember by. If you like to have memory photos to print out, make sure stop by right after entrance for photo taking. PS. If you might be back for more than twice in one year, I think membership would be the best deal for you.

Rihanna

Fun place for kids. They enjoy and love it. The only option for lunch is the Cafe which has prepared cold sandwiches and confectionary. You will need at least 3 hours to visit everywhere.

Sarah Conduct

Great Aquarium!! As 2 adults we had a lovely time looking at all of the animals. Our kids would have loved it! Set in a beautiful location as well, on Stanley park Island. The staff were helpful and knowledgable. We would definitely go back if we visit Vancouver again. Worth 5 stars for sure!!!

David Lee

One of the best aquariums I've been to in a while. Great exhibits and variety of animals. Love the shows as well. The cage has pretty decent food too. What more could you want.

Matt Zhang

One of the awesome aquarium I have visited. The jelly fishes and otter are my favorite. There’s an amazing 4D movie of outputs right right now, highly recommended! Some outdoor show of seal and sea lion , they are so cute and smart.

Don Creighton

We LOVED this place. As always. The staff is amazing and I love it more with covid protocols. I dont like large crowds so was nice to just be able to put around the place without massive amounts of people. The creatures are wonderful and my sons first time going and he is in awe of everything. Thanks to all who work there. Greta job

Who's The Kitchen Fairy

If you happen to be in the neighborhood, this place is a must. Whether you are by yourself, most esp. with family, it is so educative and entertaining to visit and spend some time here. I love the jellyfish. My videos and photos turned up good, as if I was a pro, when they were taken just with my mobile phone ???? Interactive room can get you wet, FYI ???? Was a surprise to get sprayed on! Kids shrieked in joy-ness. You can touch starfish too. It was fun. The octopus was a giant, the otters were cute, fish were pretty, there were many things to see for sure. Definitely a great place to come to. ...and psssstt....personal vehicle is definitely my suggestion, to get there. We came with taxi, and leaving the place later on wasn't easy!

N N

Good place to spend half a day with kids. Much of the key areas were not in shape due to either filter issue or renovation. Parking is very limited. Location is cool and if you are planning to bike as well, the location comes handy. Great emphasis on plastic pollution, my kids got influenced as well. 4D theatre is good. Dolphin show is just okay. Good eating options in cafeteria.

Azure

This is by far one of the best aquariums that I have ever been to. They have so much variety and so many things to look at. They have tons of stuff for kids to do. They also have a ton of cool and educational shows. All for such a reasonable price. Their memberships are very reasonable as well! I cannot wait to go back.

Jaina Andrews

To say I was excited for this stop on our trip was an understatement! We had booked our trip to Vancouver around when the aquarium had announced they were reopening! I was taken back by how informational the aquarium is. From all the different types of frogs, to facts about the sea lions, to facts about our oceans, it was so informative. We loved how much there was to see and the sea otters we’re definitely a favourite of ours! The 3D movie was also super cool! Overall, I can’t wait to go back to the Vancouver Aquarium.

Calin Alexander

I wanted to like it but it's really overrated... We came from Toronto and Ripley's aquarium and Toronto Zoo are both better... The layout of this aquarium is not very intuitive, the rooms not very well laid out, and the displays are not really that impressive. The price is outrageous, and parking isn't free which adds insult to injury here.

Yeho

Fantastic aquarium. It has it all. Fishes, jellyfish, sharks, dolphins, and even interactive exhibitions. As well as a show with dolphins! I made an entire vlog dedicating it to documentating the entire place. I'm betting there are also other nomorous people that have done so, so checking out the park is possible. I'd recommend you go there, buy the ticket and explore. It's pretty cheap for what you're actually getting. It's amazing views. Also might I add, it's fantastic for children.

Kayla Lynne

It was amazing! I wish we would've had more time to stay in Van, we we're cutting it close when we left then had less time to spend in town. So it really sucked. I fell in love with Van as soon as I saw the ocean for the first time so it was something special and all of that glass and structures. Would be amazing to be able to right now ????

Christina A

This is a very nice aquarium with an emphasis on protecting the environment, not just a "show and tell" setup. They have displays that educate children about the ocean and what we as humans are doing to it. There are films, exhibits, and activities for kids in addition to all kinds of fish, many many jelly fish, sea otters and more. A bit pricey if you are a tourist, but that's to be expected and the money really benefits their programs and had an amazing impact on the kids as well as adults we were with.

Rachel Forest

My group and I had the best afternoon here. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Make sure you allot a lot of time to spend here. There were many things I wanted to come see a second time, but ran out of time. The sea lions and seals were super adorable especially Donnelly. If in Vancouver definitely check out the aquarium!

Charlize

Very nice aquarium with sea lions, dolphins and a lot of fishes. Some shows with sea lions and dolphins, nice to see. Show with penguins was a little weird because they decided to do it inside on a carpet not outside in there area. Penguins seemed a little lost as if they didn’t know what to do there. There was also face-painting for kids and a little table where kids could draw and paint.

Dollie Nicholls

Lots to learn, see and experience! The 4D movie is a must! Amazing variety of species from tiny fish and frogs to sea lions and sloths. Marine conservation and awareness is a large focus. We learned a lot about human impact on ocean wildlife.

Hailee

We LOVED the aquarium. One of our favorite activities of our trip. Tons of things to see and explore. The kids play area was a nice unexpected bonus. They have a fabulous gift shop as well with classic gift shop items as well as nice jewelry and home decor items.

Jazmine Smith

The experience was fun, parking was a mess, so horrible, but the aquarium itself made up for it. Enjoyed time with family. Be prepared for lots of walking and lots of people.

Jordan McGregor

It sure how you can’t give this place 5 stars. It’s awesome! We flew in from Ontario and walked from our hotel to the aquarium. We ordered out tickets o line and got in right away. There are lots of exhibits to see and shows to watch. The exhibits are well set up and easy to view. The layout of the aquarium is easy to navigate and it’s easy to see the entire facility. Next time you’re close make sure to stop by!

Alyssa Webb

Fun aquarium with many exhibits indoors as well as multiple sea animal areas on the top floor outdoor area. The price is $38 CAD which is not cheap but it’s worth a visit if you’ve never been here.

Chad C

Not really a fan of confined animals but this Aquarium has done a good job of making it as enjoyable for these critters. What I didnt know is that they have lots of rescued animals as residents. Some with blindness that would make it dangerous out in the wild. Well thought out floor plan, lots of space for people, and promotes weaving in and out of its various exhibits as if I was a sea creature myself. Must go for both tourists and locals.

Elizabeth Fernandes

This aquarium focuses on raising awareness about the ocean. They have educational programs, lots of information. One of my favorite places in Vancouver. They have fair food prices and the store is adorable!

Chris Smith

Great place for the family to spend a day! Of course the mammal exhibits are a big attraction as it is one of the very few places left allowed to have marine mammals. This is because they are rescued animals that have been deemed not safe to return to the wild. This also presents a great learning opportunity for kids at the aquarium while also seeing great training demonstrations and very fun marine antics. Many other exhibits with a huge variety of marine life are also great to see.

Manizha A

Loved visiting the aquarium and seeing all it had to offer. Their talks are very educational, kids seem to love hearing and learning about all the fishes and mammals. The prices are fairly good considering the fact that it takes at least 2/3 hours to experience everything. We managed to watch the last 4-D short movie they had before they closed. The gift shop has so many cool and adorable merchandise its hard to leave without buying something.

Trevor Walker

We had a great time! They had lots of species of fish and sea mammals that were displayed and seemed to be well taken care of. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting Vancouver.

Fakhir Jamil

Amazing place for family and kids, loved the fisherman's the Amazon section with reptiles and amphibians was a bonus. Loved the 4D show too.

Kris R

It seems a rip off currently during the Covid times where all of the Programs and shows have been cancelled but yet they seem to be charging 42 cad for each adult. I love the shows and programs here but without them, I can’t justify paying what they charge. They should considering reducing the price to half to match what they are doing.

This place is dope! Iv been wanting to come here for ages but was waiting for a perfect rainy day scenario to visit. It's honestly an awesome place and I love the fact it educates everyone about our beautiful planet and the hazards of global warming as well as the incredible ocean habitants. It's a sad reality for sure, but they spread awareness, encourage and educate for all age ranges for this ever so important topic. Everywhere they can, they use innovative methods towards an eco friendly environment. I enjoyed the learning sections of communities across Canada who reside in Nunavut which is super interesting. The aquarium provide umbrellas for if it's rainy when checking out the outdoor exhibits if it's a crummy day which is cool. All in all, a great way to contribute towards a needing and deserving, excellent non-profit cause to help the animals. The jellyfish are totally memorizing. Talking to the staff just goes to show how much they sincerely and deeply care for the animals welfare and environments. Support our local communities, precious marine life and beautiful planet!

גל נפתלוביץ'

Great place to visit in a rainy day . Great place for children. Its a rescue facility. We saw fish, jellyfish, sea lions and otters. They require a vaccine card to Covid 19 for entering.

Sebastian B

Beautiful aquarium, high standard of cleanliness and staff. They are very polite and answer all of your questions. Also at various timea they have Sealion training, walris training, feeding of animals and so on which you can watch of course. The 4DX movie "A Reef Reborn" is also a nice one, it will take around 15 minutes but you will not regret it. So other things to mention, but i think it's enough. I recommend it 100%!

Kristy Suik

A must see for anyone travelling through Vancouver. The exhibits are wonderful and there are many species of aquatic life. The training shows with the Dolphin, the Sea Lion's, the Walrus' and the Sea Otters is not to be missed. I can't wait to come back and experience it all over again

Bijan Markazi

I live this place! The fish are so cool to look at and I love the sea lions. According to my friend who was in the camp, it was a great experience! It was extremely saddening to hear that they needed to close. The baby otter Joey was extremely cute! I love this place!

A very cool place!I love the aquarium! But It is Too BIG!!! l really like the seals and cleaver dolphins!!!The are really lovelyԅ(¯ㅂ¯ԅ) There are many different fishes and mammals. And the environment is clean. If you are interested in aquariums, please come here and enjoy yourselves here. (●—●)

Ed Keener

Great place with lots of stuff to see. Clean and well maintained. As with most destinations like this, the cafe menu prices were a little high. Overall our family had a fun day visiting here and highly recommend it.

Erik Floyd

Its more than a aquarium, lots more to see here like mini jungle and exhibits at the bottom of the building. Great place to bring your children, I recommend watching the dolphin training and checking out the sea otters! Inside the tropical part of the aquarium there are parrots and monkeys to check out too!

Robert Spaulding

Great to be back after being closed during the pandemic. Great place to bring the family. If you come more than 1 time it's worth getting the season pass. 20% discount at the coffee shop with membership. Parking is through EasyPark app which is handy. $15 for all day parking.

Greek Squad

Very fun! Been coming here for years and have yet to be disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and informative. Had a great time seeing the feeding of the Sea Lions and Seals, and I got to see my favorite animal, the sloth, this time (sometimes he's hiding)! It was extremely busy, which is to be expected for a Sunday afternoon. However, if you're concerned about crowds, I would suggest coming during a weekday when school is in session. They've made a great effort in keeping everything sanitized and clean. Thanks to the wonderful staff for all their hard work!

Juan Pablo Mo

Fun experience with the family, seems like everyone and every animal is happy.

Kurt

Nice to see the Aquarium back. Good place to bring kids. Adult could find interesting for the first time, but might not want to visit again in a while. Just not big enough for a 45$ ticket. Animal collections also quit small.

Raghav Chaturvedi

One of the best aquariums I’ve been to. They have sea lions, penguins, seals, otters, dolphins etc etc. Keep an eye out for the shows happening there and be present at the designated times. Also if you’re a student you can consider getting an annual pass, it’s cheaper than two entry tickets. You’ll see a huge variety of species from the Pacific and nearby water bodies.

jean-pierre meloche

This is a beautiful aquarium to come and visit. Most of the big creatures outside in the big tanks are saved animals but too injured to go back into the wild. Lots of amazing and colourful fish to look at inside.

MIGUEL MARTINEZ CEJA

A great place to visit if you are in town with your kids. Is Open again for members and soon for general public. You better line up for the new 4D movie "OCTOPUS" by BBC

Aniket Sarkar

Loved the experience, it can take someone around 1 hour 30 minutes to two hours depending on how much time you spend on each exhibit, so plan ahead and go with plenty of time as I was asked to rush and actually skipped a few exhibits.

Adam Searles

Great aquarium. So many great sea creatures to look at. The seals are fun and the sea otters are adorable.

Fabricio Barra Bossa

An amazing place to visit with your friends, family and significant other. I have been here as a turist for the first time in 2015 and I feel in love with this place from the beginning. All the staff is extremely kind, gentile and friendly, they always do their best to make your experience in the Aquarium memorable.

Lizzete Aranda

Beautiful and educational Aquarium. Environmental friendly I was sad to my daughter wasn’t able to see the Belugas as the pass away a few years ago, but happy at same time because the Aquarium didn’t replace theme.

Lisa Bacon

Great! Very crowded after 10AM. Recommend the earlier hours if possible. Lots of kids everywhere during the afternoon.

Angela Reina

Had a great experience visiting here, there is a lot to see. I wanted to read all the info I could, but there's so much; its quite amazing. Really just wish they didn't give that whale to seaworld texas.

Cyan Land

Kinda confusing to navigate but absolutely go there its so beautiful and there are so many aquatic creatures well as reptiles, plants, insects etc. to see!

Ellie

It’s been a while since I visit this aquarium! Make sure to buy your ticket online and choose the spot! Staff are really nice and it was really good visit!

Mai Yun La

Awesome Aquarium! Lots of Jelly fish, various fish, frogs etc. Some neat bugs. Interesting outdoor animal trick shows about every half hour. A minimal petting zoo to feel about 3-4 sea creatures. Allow a long time to visit the Aquarium to see everything. Costs around $49/ adult.

Bri Bull

I was really avoiding going cause I thought “why would I spend $80 for myself and my partner to see this?” but was told it would be worth it. You know what? It totally was. Lots to see and do, so many opportunities for amazing photos, and looked like a great time for the whole family. So glad we went!

Miriam MacLeod (Mimi)

Loved it. The jelly fish mesmerized us! The sea lions were crowd pleasers. Big crowd on a rainy Saturday morning. Amazing animals at every turn. Worth buying a membership for early entry and frequent visits.

sayar samanta

The Vancouver aquarium is one of the important place to visit. It has huge number of different marine life species to look at. This is a great place to bring kids. They have maintained the aquarium properly. Will definitely recommend to all of my friends and others to visit here. There is also a very huge parking area adjacent to the aquarium.

Jeremy Kong

I would start off by giving this destination a five star review there are 3 reasons why I like it 1. The area is clean 2. The staffs were nice 3. Nice clean environment

Mike Estevez

Amazing experience. I went on Jan 1st and it was not crowded which was great to enjoy all the exhibition. Highly recommended during summer ????

Jonathan Chung

Great for adults and kida. Fish. Fish everywhere. Its a vancouver staple. If you have kids, get the year pass. Well worth it for the education and entertainment.

Shiva Sharifi

It’s an awesome place if you like aquatic life or you want to have a research and get some information about that.

Tarik Aouad

COVID19 - friendly setup with good spacing and plenty of sanitizing station. Benches have signs if they've been sanitized in case you need to rest. Exhibit is "one way" so no back tracking. Had a lot of fun there. Appreciated the focus on rescue and research, as well as the sensitization of our impact on the ocean. The museum also had a section with reptiles, spiders, birds and possums in the tropical section. Would recommend going to support them as they've been struggling lately. Enjoy!

Morgane Baudry

Super cool 2h to spend on a rainy day!

Marcin Tandecki

Worth the visit. Lots to see for everyone of all ages. Stroller and wheelchair accessible throughout. Very kid friendly. Plan to spend about 2-3 hours in here, as there is lots to see!

Gabriel Yeung

The Vancouver Aquarium was a delight to be in. Educational for kids and adults alike. It's a nice place to spend an entire afternoon. It's also surrounded by the rest of Stanley Park to enjoy.

Zaayer Nasib

My wife and I took our 1 year old while Vancouver was under extremely cold conditions. Since we've visited the Seattle aquarium, we were a little disappointed that this one wasn't as big or had as much experiences but it was still a good experience. Due to the cold, some of the outdoor displays were closed. No penguins... Also, you should probably budget 3 hours so you can visit all areas and experience the 4D ride they have as well. Since we could not do that due to time constraints with the baby, we opted to get the membership on the way out so we can visit later. Looking forward to going again soon.

Conley Leung

You can see all the things in a small area. Good for kids. P.S. try to avoid wearing red shirt which same as the aquarium staffs color, otherwise the animals and fish will keep staring at you and waiting for you to feed them.

Amy W

I’ve been to the Vancouver Aquarium over the past 20 years. Every visit has been special and memorable. I love the marine animals here. My favourite is the sea otters! I am glad it’s now reopen with adequate covid-protocols in place. It does get a little too crowded to my liking during weekends, so be prepared for that or avoid if that’s something of concern to you. Vaccine passports are checked when entering so have your screenshot and ID ready! Overall, still great aquarium experience like what I’ve had before thanks to the great staff working there!

pascal lo

One of my favourite places in Vancouver. Here you can see sea creatures from Canada's wild Pacific, to frogs and anacondas of the amazon. dolphin shows occur about once every hour, and guided tours of the aquarium also happens very often. Most importantly, all the exhibitions encourage visitors to learn about the sea and how it functions, how pollution is endangering it, and how the aquarium and ultimately, you, can help the situation. Great for the family.

Kristina Michaud

This aquarium is amazing! So mnay cute animals to see. The layout is nice and easy to find everything. There's lots of outdoor exhibits where you all the big steals and otters are. Was pleasantly surprised with the amount of birds and even bat's! Will come Mack again!

Brittny M

Admission is a bit pricey, but the place is huge. They even have a dolphin, penguins, otters, and seals. There is tons of stuff for kids and we even got to "meet" a penguin, which was pretty much watching the poor thing following it's crate around trying to get back inside. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, a gift shop, and a cafe. If you bring a water bottle they have refill stations all over. You can buy a bottle there as well.

Rajkumar Luke

Great place. Very educational for kids amd adults to gain understanding of abundant marine life. If you ( or your kids) are nature lovers and plan to make it at least 3-4 times a yr then a membership is very worthwile.

Kat M

Beautiful scenes and aquatic life. I had a lot of fun overall. Lots of people, many of which were kids. A sea lion sang for us and the others had a but of a tussle. Lots to see and learn!

Ilana Y

Fun aquarium with both interior and exterior exhibits. We only had an hour or so to spend there but you could easily stroll there for a few. The otters were super cute but couldn't get a good photo of them through the murky glass. The Dolphin was well trained, sea lions are still learning the tricks.

Angie Korol

Wonderful animals and an expansive collection of animals of all types. There was even a monkey in the tropical area! They had dolphins and a touch tank too. If you are in the area, you should try to get there. You can use a kiosk to the left of the entrance lines, to get quick tickets and go through quicker!

Oliver Kuster

Awesome place with a variety of marine and other animals (frogs, spiders, tropical birds and bats). Has rescued dolphin and seals which is also amazing because they aren't taken from their natural habitat without reason. And the focus on the effects of plastic garbage in the oceans is also very enlightening. Worth the visit!

Katiucia Carauta

It is a good experience. We liked a lot. People are friendly and the place is well organized. I was just disappointed with two aquariums that were durty, but the rest was supee good. Around the aquarium there is a huge green area because is in the beginning of the park, so is super nice to walk until there.

Chelsea Maus

Great aquarium! Educational and fun. We came on a family day (kids 12 and under free) so the line when they opened was long, but they moved us through pretty quick. Would definitely recommend coming

Leanne G

Great family location. The kids area is a great spot to relax and let young kids explore. Lunch options are good and the outdoor seating areas are perfect on a hot day and then ending the day with an ice cream!

chen idan

Great place with great veriaty of animals - mostly sea creatures, but also amphibians, insects, snakes (yikes) and mammals for some reason. Admission is too expensive in my opinion, but it includes 4D movies and other activities, so I think if you go to those it ends up worth it.

samuel mazzoli

A wonderful place to bring your children, to show them the beauty of the Canadian reefs and to show them the right way to behave with the sea. Moreover, it has a children sea rescue clinic where they can learn how to save the life of an otter and why we shouldn’t behave in a certain way when we approach the sea. This is a review from a children who was taken here some years ago, that still enjoy this wonderful place .

Christopher Amstutz

We had a blast. Everything was nice and clean, well maintained. Good signage and flow through the aquarium. Jellyfish seemed to be everyone’s favourite. Staff were friendly and nice. Would visit again

Jon Y

Excellent place. I bought an annual pass since seems like a good deal. Been here twice since buying it! Good time for the family. Lots of shows all day long. Buy a all day parking pass for all of Stanley park for $13 dollars. Spent time in the aquarium and then relax in the park for a few hours! Perfect way to spend a weekend. Also the annual membership entitles you to 20% food and gift shop. They have a great selection of good here from coffee, burgers salads and etc!

Senthil Jegadeesan

Parking can be tough on a busy day. The place has a good collection of fishes. The 4D theatre was good. Dolphin show was nice. The food court has good options.

Syed Taseen Bakht

Beautiful aquarium, certainly the best in Canada as there is a few sections of things to see. Great for kids, 4D theater was a nice touch. They also have penguins!! Very stroller/wheelchair accessible. Lots of different species including an Amazon section and lots of jellyfish. Parking outside the building is awful, but you need to be always circling around. This is in Stanley Park, so there are a ton of things to see/do before or after your visit.

JJ

Awesome aquarium! Great location and sooooo much to see and do. Plan to spend at least 3 hours, because there is a lot going on. Every exhibit has interesting fish & corals. They even have penguins and dolphins. And they have plenty of food and drinks when you need a quick pick me up. Can't wait to go back.

Nicole Stratton

Had a great time! Their covid-19 policies made us feel safe and despite some exhibits having to be closed, it was still a lovely time! Learned lots too!

Tammy Watson

Great little place to take your kids our for an educational day to see fish and other marine life. Due to covid, some attractions were not in full operation, such as the children's play area. Our kids enjoyed watching the sea lions being fed, the underground pool view of the tank is great and viewing gallery of the penguins are a real treat. We got an annual membership so we can come back throughout the year.

Derek Jensen

Wonderful place. My son loves going there and we love taking him! It's a great place for families to visit! They change things up from time to time so that there is something new to experience as well. Very friendly staff and many beautiful creatures to see. I also really like that they are so environmentally conscious, even with their restaurant. We will go back many times!

Juliann Kirkland

Great Aquarium. It's a great place to visit when in Vancouver; and has attractions to interest the whole family. Take advantage of the shows while you are there - they are both fun and informative. We saw the 4D shark show; it was very well done. #LetsGuide

Ally Robertson

Can't not love it here. Grandkids loved it and enjoyed themselves big time. Thought it isn't as grand as it used to be, I'm glad the pricey tickets actually help rescue and rehabilitate.

Melkalver Melkalver (Johnny D)

Large space, good variety of aquarium life. They had shows/events during the day. Costs is a little high, however the enjoyment and education we got was worth it. I highly recommend visiting when you have a chance. Good for both adults and children.

Sanjeet Shivkar

Always a fun and busy day at the aquarium. Great place for kids. A variety of aquatic species to see and learn about. Seals, sea lions, penguins, otters and walruses are the outdoor attractions. The place has a 4D cinema and shows every 30 mins which a worth a watch. The amazon zone has a sloth.

Maxman Williams

This had always been a gorgeous place and has evolved and changed with the times. Bringing attention to how humans have affected or planet. To understand that we share or planet with many different species is the most humbling aspect. It isn't just survival of the fittest, it is our responsibility to insure that we manage or future for all species. Unfortunately with today's political movements and or self absorbed society, I believe we may have passed the tipping point, with unfortunate circumstances ahead. As social media has grown, so to has our selfish nature as being. It amazes me, living in this wonderful city fill of beauty and opportunity that so many people still lack a massive respect for our environment. As in touch as I normally am, the artistic display of the Vortex should only be seen in person. I have not included pictures to insure the integrity of the artists message remains intact. Please go and enjoy this opportunity and appreciate the message and presentation.

M Harpes

A bit pricey but very entertaining! Plus the cost is for a good purpose. Took about 2 hours to walk slowly through all areas and have a snack. The gift shop has some good deals and a lot of Canadian made local goods. I was pleasently surprised with the forest area with the birds, tortoises, monkeys, and snakes! They were all very fun and active. Just wish we were able to see the penguins when we went.

Brandon Cannard

Think it's absolutely ridiculous we can't go with a negative test within 24hrs. Took my family of 7 to go and was denied entry and we were all tested. We are from out of province. A negative test should be more than efficient enough.

Tony H

So glad it’s open again. Great place to visit and wander with a little one. A lot of the interactive elements aren’t working either due to COVID or maintenance issues.

Herry Dai

The tropical section has sloths hanging on trees, arapaima, and anacondas. Outdoor pools host very active sea lions, fur seals and otters. 4D movie was also very fun.

Brooke McLaren

I loved this place! Definitely worth the entry cost, so many amazing animals and fish to see. I loved the Amazon area and the animals outside were all really fun to see. The aquarium is definitely a must do on your visit to Vancouver.

Chongfeng Hu

The aquarium itself is amazing; however, closing down the straight exit, and forcing people through their souvenir store is overdoing it. Should at least provide straight exit as an alternative.

Youssef Chahdi El Ouazani

Great experience with an aquarium diversified

Kitanna Ebeltoft

They gave me sound-cancelling headphones at guest services when I got overwhelmed and all the staff were very engaged and helpful with myself and other customers from what I noticed.

Just Juice

Sooo much fun! A few exhibits were closed, I'm guessing due to Covid ???? But really fun for the family! A definite must go!! Quite a few restaurants to! 4d cinema was great!

Bryce Frisky

Amazing experience at the aquarium. I'd suggest getting your appointment as early as possible so you have free reign of the place. Almost all exhibits are open and there is a huge variety, including sloths, and it takes about an hour to go through. The staff was very friendly and informative. Would be five stars if it wasnt so prohibitively expensive.

Francisco Berlanga

It's very good, needs some maintenance in some parts but still amazing place to visit, fantastic way how they present awareness of what we are doing to the planet and how we can help reducing waste and plastic into our rivers and oceans

Caroline Morgan

Amazing species they have here. Worth to visit without any doubt.

Kelvin Lau

Very nice aquarium. One way protocol is in place but the pace of movement will vary by how long the guests are spending at each viewpoint. Parking is a bit pricey but it is Stanley Park.

Phyl Anderson

Enjoyed our visit overall but for the price of admission we felt the exhibits fell short in content. Missed seeing anything to do with our beloved whales and dolphins; just felt there could of been so much more. The 4D show was awesome and we enjoyed it very much. We felt that more shows like this would definitely add to the experience.

James L

Fantastic aquarium with a wide variety of species with a huge focus on education and conservation. Located nicely in Stanley Park with a wonderful gift store and lots of activies and educational opportunities for kids

Spongebob

A decent size aquarium! Worth the visit!

Samantha Champagne

This is a lovely aquarium and it is definitely worth a visit. The aquarium does an excellent job of educating the public, as well caring for animals and providing a home to injured animals that cannot be released back into the wild. We paid a bit extra to do an animal encounter. We were able to go behind the scenes and also feed an otter. It was a neat experience and I would recommend it, but be sure to book in advance.

Tracy Lott

A fantastic afternoon reliving our weekly adventures to VA when our daughter was young, and showing off the exceptional exhibits, from rescued baby Joey to the West Coast gallery to the anacondas, to a new guest. This facility is a BC/Canada treasure and we must all ensure its survival.

sassygal3

Amazing place. I picked up the yearly pass which includes 1 guest pass and a discount on purchases. It pays for itself with at least 2 visits. There is so much to see and so many shows they do during the day. They have a meet a penguin that they do every now and then which is so adorable. Go get a seat early for a show since seats fill up fast. They have so many cute stuff in the gift shop. I loved the otters and penguins. I didn't know they had a dolphin but it appeared to be having a blast during it's show always trying to get the trainers attention. It's also in stanely park which is so very pretty. Definitely worth the walk around the park too.

B Mac

Great aquarium. Lots of exhibits and different kinds of marine life. Layout was fairly simple to follow. All life seemed to be very well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. Washrooms were clean and maintained. Well worth the cost to visit and see all the different life from the ocean. Highly recommended.

Samantha Marquardt

Expensive but worth it. Cafe inside has good lunch options... And you can even get a beer! (Or wine!) Water bottle filler, washrooms, food, drinks, fun gift shop, beautiful exhibits, friendly staff ✔ Parking is expensive, too, but you can use the app and add fare as you need cause you'll be looking around for a while if you have a good look at everything ????

Dan BH

Loved the polar express experience! In my 37 years pf life everytime I come to Vancouver I visit the aquarium. Everyone the penguins are not on display. Starting to suspect a penguin conspiracy.

Kevin Sun

This is a good, but not quite world-class aquarium. Although I have somewhat high standards, the aquarium has kind of been going down in terms of “wow” exhibits the past few years. In fact, the most impressive tank was actually the freshwater rainbowfish/fly river turtle tank, which is pretty awesome! Still, a fun experience and great location in Stanley Park.

Ryan Pan

great place for families, we bought the annual pass, totally worth it, my kids love it there, always can't wait to get back. There's a 4D theater too, but a bit too scary for younger kids, my 4 year old got scared and I had to bring her out 2 mins into the show.

Sandra Ziltener

We had a very disappointing experience. My mom was visiting from Switzerland and wanted to visit the Aquarium. Therefore, I booked tickets via phone call for a 12.30 admission. When we arrived at the aquarium, we were told that the aquarium would close at 3.30pm because of a private event. Since we had not been informed in advance that they would close early, we talked to the manager who told us that we could re-book for a different day. We explained that my mom was only able to visit on that specific day. The manager then insisted that we would have enough time to visit the aquarium, and didn't offer a partial refund. He was not accommodating or customer-friendly at all. We paid 40$ per person for the short visit. Will not go back anytime soon.

Tanis Hanson

Super fun, educational experience for yourself and the entire family, gift shop has many beautiful souvenirs and the staff is super friendly, the animals are fairly interactive with the public, definitely recommend checking out the 4D movie, it's included with your general admission tickets

Chris Allen

Really good aquarium with interesting shows. It's not got the biggest variety of animals....you'll be disappointed if your after big shark tanks and touching rays like bigger aquariums. But there was a great penguin, dolphin and sea lion show we saw. Very focussed on rescue animals and supporting the oceans. Great price, and right in Stanley Park if you want to enjoy that too!

Brock Aura

Covid update: I love the aquarium and have had a membership in the past. What they do for education and rehabilitation is needed and important. Our family went recently after they reopened under physical distancing guidelines. They’ve done a great job keeping it safe by having reserved times, one way travel and distance measures on the ground. That said, it is VERY expensive. For two adults and a 5 year old it was over $100 and that is without parking, food or gift shop. With sea lions as the main exhibit, we would not consider going back for the price. In addition to that, the entire downstairs was closed for summer camps and that was not indicated when we purchased the tickets. I wish the aquarium had a deal like the Capilano Suspension bridge where BC residents received an annual pass with the purchase of a single entrance fee. Either that or they should have discounts for locals, especially if Covid continues to keep tourists away. It’s too bad that some of these spots, like the aquarium, are pricing out families from lower socioeconomic status households.

Harry

The aquarium is a good attraction for any ages and is very family friendly with it's shows and even include little playgrounds for the kids. The best bits - I loved the variety in of the animals, even including an Amazon rainforest section which holds monkeys and sloths making the experience worthwhile. On the other hand I was disappointed by the various shows that the keepers do. Though they do happen every 15 minutes or so in various places, my friend and I (aged 15) went to 4 different shows and was only marginally entertained by the walrus tricks show. Finally, even though I think the ticket prices are a bit more on the pricy side in comparison to other places, a lot of their finding goes to helping and saving Animals which is Noble of the to do.

Charles Wang

I wish to live in greater Vancouver so that I can go there every weekend. I would love to travel with ferry just to see the beautiful under water world with my family! Great place! Kids friendly and loads of fun. Interesting to explore

Debbie Gilbeau

The Vancouver aquarium is the best place to visit in Vancouver. It's a lot of fun with so much to see from oceans around the world ????. My favorite thing to do is spend time with Helen ???? our White sided Pacific Dolphin

Val Shaw

Excellent day! Everyone throughly enjoyed the visit. From a 6 year old girl , 10 year old boy, 16 year old boy and grandparents all gave the thumbs up

Erik

The aquarium was a great experience while in Vancouver, especially to get out of the rain. The highlights were the otter and seal feedings. Very entertaining and funny to watch. In my opinion, the best things in the inside were the jellyfish displays. The rest of it was pretty basic and was $38/person which I feel was a little much for what you got.

Nancy

A good place to go in downtown area!

Kar Ortega

Beautiful aquarium, there are different species of penguins, I loved watching the jellies and the otters.

Lena Thamer

Very nice place especially for kids. Our kids loved to see the different kinds of sea creatures. We did not see shows I think they cancelled it due to Covid-19.

Matt Gurzinski

Amazing. Get a membership and go on Saturday before 10am. It’s quiet and that’s when they feed the animals

Eduardo De Santiago

Great place for kids and grown up. The 4D movie theater is amazing and kids enjoy it big time. Staff is very friendly and there is a lot of different fish and animals species to see. We had a great time and really enjoy a beautiful day there. Highly recommended.

Tom Hu

This place is perfect for kids and adults. There are lots of different species of marine life to look at and to learn. The overall layout is very spacious. Since it's located inside Stanley park, there are lots of parking. We're here from 1pm to 5pm and still have some places that we didn't get to check out yet. Good thing we have 2 years membership so we can come back anytime. Highly recommend!

Jessica Z

Super FUN indoor sightseeing!

Summa Lai

My son really likes this aquarium. Don’t miss the 4D movie.

Xo Vancouver

Sad for the living creatures. Boring. Expensive for what you see. Limited seating throughout and way too many people at once. We are meant to exist with animals not extort them. First and last time supporting this kind of business.

Micaela Dawn

The aquarium is fantastic, but can be exceptionally busy even on weekdays. They have plenty of animals and interesting facts for everyone to explore. It can be expensive for a family, but there are nice parks around the aquarium as well to help make the day full of adventure.

Alison L

Super fun! So much to see and do. The axolotyl is so cute!!

A M

Love to visit the aquarium from time to time to see the frogs, dolphins, sharks, and the cute and lovely penguins! The addition of the "Discover Ray" exhibition lets you get really up-close with the sting rays. This place is both fun and educational for all ages! One thing I like is that all of the featured sea creatures (such as the False Killer Whale) on display is that they were rescued and being taken care of as they are determined to be non-releasable. That makes it more reasonable to keep them and providing a home for them. Prices for food and drinks at the cafe are a little too expensive and wish it could be improved a bit so it is more friendly.

A great day out with the family! Lots to see and do. The 4D shark experience was great. The trainers were putting there skills/bonds with the animals to good use. It is great to see the interactions and the showmanship of the team! We will return!

I wish I can give zero stars for their customer service. I booked tickets online but did not receive an email confirmation. The payment showed up on my credit card history. I called their phone number and was not able to reach any staff for help. Their voice mailbox was full and their ticket line did not have anyone answering calls. I literally have to show up in person to sort this out and it made for a very stressful family activity. I am just rating their their service. The aquarium itself is great for kids.
