REVIEWS OF Dynamic Earth IN Sudbury

Dennis Webster

My boys and I spent a day here and loved it!

Lubna Samara

Amazing place. We enjoyed our time here, especially the informative underground tour; where you'll get to learn a lot about the history of mining industry. The museum itself is a fun place for children and adults to learn more about rocks and minerals in the area. Very clean and was not crowded when we visited.

Esther Scott

The new engineering exhibit is really interesting. My son didn't want to go today yet had a great time. I knew he would. I've never been disappointed. Can't wait until the snow melts and we can use the playground outside.

Jason Burditt

Definitely a fun experience. Careful if you're claustrophobic though. There isn't a tonne of room down there.

Sean McNamara

Great for families of all ages. We traveled with 2 teens and a 9mo old. The baby stoller was no problem on the tour. Finally the teens had no cell signal (as we are underground) so they had to actually look up listen and learn!!!! Lol Tour guide (Jenelle) was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and answered all of the groups many questions. Sweater and or jacket with walking shoes is recommended by Dynamic. I suggest you follow it. Parking is $6. Order your tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment, bundle with Science North for your best deals. Leave extra time for all the other fun onsite including the Big Nickel.

Janice Liedl

Great little science museum with fun outdoor & indoor play areas for little kids plus a unique mine tour. Same admission gets you into Science North so do both!

Dan Remmerswaal

Great layout. Mine tour was excellent.

Neil J Schwab

Great time for the whole family.

Katrina

Amazing tour! We had so much fun! Very educational!

Ian Stuart

Great hotel. Nicely updated. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly service.

Nathan J

we came from Toronto, but this place is not pet friendly, so my fur kid and I waited outside for my friends. I did not have a chance to visit inside but I still had lots of fun

Sarah Barnett

Awesome tourist attraction. Very friendly staff

mark pringle

Lots of fun, the mine tour is a must if visiting here, frankly why else visit if not going underground

Dwayne de Wit

Great place to go with the family! Very informative and interactive. Kids like Ved going underground through the 'mine'! If you are going on the tour, make sure to take a light jacket and some sensible footwear, as you will be in an underground area that is about 12 degrees Celsius for about 1 hour. Worth it!

Juan Manuel Figueroa Iguardia

Perfect so your family can experience how it is to be underground. Some things are more realistic than others, but overall a great place to visit.

Brett Gutterson

Really nice experience. Would recommend watching the weather. When raining options are limited. Recommend booking the tour early

Greg Doherty

Great mine tour. Really informative and knowledgeable guides. The museum itself is also really interesting, it explains how the nickel deposits were formed and has displays of all types of minerals. Highly recommended!

Jason Jessup

So well organized and lots for the kids to see and do.

Sanjay Sudrik

Nice underground experience

Peter Desera

Located at the same place with Big Nickel

Eric von Graevenitz

Good tour of the mine throughout history. Fun geology and science spot.

Kassie Dwarika

Awesome! Mine was cool, the temporary science sign language exhibit was very informative. Excellent rock samples and The Big Nickel was very big.

Janneke Nicholls

Something very special to visit in sudbury. An experience that you won't get anywhere else.

Jessica Lamirande

Great little park with a giant slide.

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

Had to stop in here after getting pictures at the giant toonie in Campbellford Ontario and the giant nickel out in Sudbury Ontario. Plenty to do here as there are tours of the place. You can also let the kids play on the outdoor play area they have set up once inside the complex area. Good history lesson for my mother in law visiting from the Philippines as well as the kids.

fred down

Was closed when we got there, maybe better when open

Michael lefebvre

Ive been to dynamic earth three times everytime at a cost of over 60 dollars . In march 2016 they had a megladon exhibit I had to pay the full amount again to see a exhibit that was not that great. You should be able to pay a small fee just to see the exibit.

Chris Armstrong (Chris Armstrong)

Great place to learn about the earth and the minerals we use from it. Great interactive activities take you through the history and evolution of the mining industry. Great spot for kids!

James Leishman

I went after hours so I never went inside the building but it's a cool place, nice view, and that sort of stuff

dragunroze

A definite place to visit at least once - huge nickle is incredible to see

Loreana Trabona

I’ve gone a couple of times now! Mostly when I go to Sudbury to visit my family. I think it’s a very cool experience for the whole family. They give you some history and they explain the mine well during the tours. It’s definite unique and worth going for a visit if you’re in the area.

Shawn McLeod

Great place for families to enjoy time with each other.

Hungree Xplorer

Must visit if in Sudbury! A piece of Canadian History! The world's largest 5 cent coin (I'm told). We visited this place in fall and the view from the Big Nickel is awesome! Full of fall colours! Also catch a great view of the Inco Superstack Chimney from here. And if you have time take in the Halloween tour!

Naomi ROSS

Very cool, learned a lot and enjoyed the tour.

Ryan Martens

Awesome place A MUST GO!!!

Devin Arthur

Good place to visit if you have kids, and also a good place for special events. The Halloween display they have is great for kids and adults. I haven't been underground yet but I can't wait to try it out!

Shane Ghouralal

Great place to brings visitors. Nice view of the area.

K W

Good place for learning about geology, Sudbury and how the nickel came about. Admission was a little pricey, but given that I came to Sudbury, it was definably a stop. The underground tour was great. The play area is also pretty nifty for my kids. Overall, liked it. If the place was bigger, it would have been nicer. Still worth the stop.

Max Groulx

I did not get a chance to actually visit Dynamic Earth as it wad temporarily closed in preparation for the Halloween activities but we will definitely come back next season. We still got to see the Big Nickel and take pictures. Also a good view on the Super Stack.

Eric Pietri

Great place to see at least once. My kids loved it!

Kelly Harper

Great educational experience for all ages.

Dmitry Buga

Unfortunately, the place is a little run down, outside grounds need some refresh renovation. But still worth a visit if you are in the area.

Mylene Rocheleau

It was a great experience, very informative but it was expensive for a family of 5.

Manuel López

Iconic place in Sudbury, ideal for kids and adult who want fun and learn.

Gaylord Read

It is a good place to visit to see how Sudbury came to be.

James Tam

The tour is fun. walk in a mining tunnel is a new experience and kids love it.

Chris Brush

Awesome place definitely add it to your bucket list

Random Everything

The mine tour was worth it! really cool to see, and be down there!

Carlos Oliva

Great experience worth to go down the mine in the summer time about $65 To go down

Michael Ball

They get an extra star because from where the nickle is it's a nice view. Otherwise one star. Be warned it's $6 to park (flat rate) and at minimum $15 more for a mine tour. Just came back from a road trip from Toronto to thunder Bay and this was the only tourist stop that charged to park. I would avoid this if you aren't planning on driving through Sudbury.

Shurree Whymer

It was so different than in 1985! Awesome to be back.

Ben Fraser

If you like mining... and sharks, you will love it.

Little Munchkins

Great fun on Halloween night. The only place we found in Sudbury that was fun to go to. We initially planned on going to Manitoulin Island but bad food consumption made us sick and we ended up coming back home- 5ish hr drive ???? *Great story telling, nice fire setup and beautiful Decorations. ❤️

Chris Behan

Living within a a few kilometers, my rating is not the best reflection. It's a must see when visiting Sudbury! Happy 150 Canada! I recommend The Big Nickel Show each night. Awesome light show on the nickel free! I recommend the 11:00pm show because it darker and be prepared for bugs!

Liz Schramm

Great tour. The kids really had fun. Mine tour was about an hour long. Lots of amusements to see before the tour as well.

Jenny Labrosse

Pumpkinferno was okay! A good effort on their part during tough times! Beautiful walk but a little pricey considering you're not getting an experience like you did with the tunnel of terror. Anyways this is always a family favourite to visit! Thanks guys!

Wilson Colome

Great place for kids and adults too.

Darlene Spurr

Wish they had a more experienced tour guide like maybe a retired miner.

Gabriel Bennett

Excellent place to visit and learn about the mine and city. It's interactive and engaging for everyone of all ages. The staff are incredibly friendly and do their best to assist or answer questions. The elevator ride is much shorter than I anticipated. It was less than a minutes. Advice to potential visitors in the mine tour: wear a sweater or jacket. It's cold and damp with water droplets throughout.

Jay Bird

Really cool place to visit. I look forward to seeing it further tomorrow. It looks like a great place to bring the kids.

Natalie Procopio

Super fun! Halloween pumpkins were amazing and all the staff were so nice! We tried dried crickets for free as well! Very cool and great for kids as well. There was a very engaging story teller at the campfire reading to the kids with the best voices and everyone I saw was smiling so big. A fantastic experience

S Mockett

I was there many many year's ago but was excellent to re-visit. Excellent venue and staff were very helpful and chatty!!!

Colleen Dion

Can't say a bad thing about it. Tours are what you make it.

MadD MackX

Amazing experience.....great place to briefly experience what it's like to work underground !! Staff were really helpful.

Tenasha Hook

Kids always have a blast (no pun intended ????????) worth the drive to spend the day in Sudbury

Dan Scott

There are so many activities, and the rotation of special exhibits (recent exhibits included a fantastic selection of artifacts from King Tut's tomb, and megalodon the prehistoric shark) means that there's always a reason to come back. It's a favourite destination for our kids, so of course we have a family membership. Plus, I've become quite skilled at panning for gold!

Js Boutin

Very fun place even as two adults. The mine tour was pretty interesting even though the guide seemed like she had the soul sucked out of her before she had our group. It was very interesting to see mining throughout the ages. A lot of fun rocks and minerals to play with and learn about before / after the tour too. 6$ for parking is a little silly but hey they have to make money somehow.

Michael Smythe

Only came to see the nickel in the off season. Good you can go see it even though it's closed. Lots of interesting things to read outside. Looks like a nice place. They have an epic playground for kids outside. Would definitely check it out during the season.

Steve Wilson

Highly informative and high-energy staff. A lovely experience.

Joshua Kahn

No visit to the area is complete without visiting this historic site. The scenery is beautiful and the attraction is awesome to behold. The information provided about the region and the history is must-learn content and I highly recommend that anyone visiting northern Ontario stop by for a quick look or an extended stay

Jason Pangowish

Was a great outing with the family. Lots of information and "tons" activities interesting facts and details. We had a great time and enjoyed the afternoon. Was nice to see all the covid safety protocols in place

Anabel

Great visit. You might want to bring a jacket since is cold inside the mine.

Tenasha Ka

Kids always have a great time here. They love the underground tour

Todd Frawley

great fun for kids of all sizes and home of the Big Nickel

Francis Roland

Big nickel is like 30 feet big or something

Luc Girard

Fun place to learn about the mining industry

Tammi Parsons

A stop worth making. Excellent learning opportunity for children. You will learn something too. Be sure to take the tour inside Dynamic Earth to understand the complex relationship between above and below the ground you stand on.

Tia Lalande

There's a Halloween theme going on and my cousin and I went for a late night visit after work. It was neat and spooky. It was late so we didn't go inside but it looked really cool from outside at night.

Mike Lehikoinen

fantastic tour and facility! Tour lasts about an hour. Wear sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing for 13 degree C temps with high humidity.

Brent Dawe

Was pretty cool. Always wanted to go into a mine. Made me feel like a kid in a candy store lol. Staff is really friendly, knowledgeable and interactive.

Adam Webster

Had a great time with my family.

Sara Matheson

be worned you pay for parking... upset about this as I wanted to just see the big nickel and as a tourest destination was alittle suprised and frusterated.. Loved the exhibits that we went to see and the kids enjoyed the mine.. loved learning about the local mines in the area.

dR.rIaZ kHoKhAr

Awesome

Mike Timbers

Northern ontario is awesome gotta stop and see the big nickle

MIKEGREEN87

Best mine tour the info here rocks you can pan for gold they let you keep! ???? yay! oh and the augmented reality watershed topographical map is the coolest thing I've seen in ever. ???? Thanks for letting me pan gold all day a prosperously preposterously prospector Mike p. s. this is my lady and the best picture I took of a cheeky "hold up big nickel" pic. ????

Ann Marie Arnott

Jayden our tour guide was incredible! The tour was about an hour long and took you through an actual mine that they have arranged w how mining has changed throughout time. Hands in tour for kids, which my 10 year old loved!

TropicalCoder

Great for children (but I'm an adult)

don fong

Best haunted house I have been to

Frölfênüügen 4 Lyfe

The tour was a little cheesey at first but got better as it went. In the end I liked it for what it was.

Stephane Guenette

My son loves it every time here and it comes with the Science North Pass! He was too young for the mine tour but I am sure he will love it more when I can take him to the Halloween one :) I went a couple of times at the Halloween Mine and was not disappointed! Great Zombie Actors :) The pumpkin displays were top notch as well. Recommended -especially- for Halloween :)

Spencer Lohr

Just visited the nickel, but it's pretty cool!

Yauheni B.

Wow! One of the best interactive museum tours I have ever been on. The mine your is priceless and reminded me of Universal, only everything is real! One of the best museums in Ontario

Andrew McCallum

Underground tour was great! Thanks Ava!

Joshua Kubinec

Dynamic Earth is really well done. You can spend a lot of time learning about geology, play with the machine simulators and also learn about the history of mining in Sudbury. If you go, look at the schedule for the various movies and the mine tour and try and get in at a time when you can catch one of the mine tours as the mine tours are a lot of fun and you get to see how a mine actually works!

Brian Peacock

Excellent place to visit great hands on experience staff provide a most enjoyable time

Anne Hayduk

Loved this place. And the underground tour.

Jonathan Gbedemah

I was truly surprised by this museum. I was under the impression Dynamic Earth was a regular walk-through museum, but it was a guided tour! (Mind you, decently expensive as well). They take you right through a real mine, show the development of mining equipment and even have interactives for the members on the tour. The tour guide was both hilarious and knowledgeable. Note: do NOT wear your nice shoes to this tour!

Nickel City Breakers

The underground mine tour was very cool.

Claudio Gondo

Pumpkinferno is a must-go in Dynamic Earth. Employees are all keen to explain you everything and always with a smile on their faces.

Chetan Ramse

It was really a great experience and very educationalfor the kids! We spent 4 hours at the museum and also visited the underground mine tour which we really enjoyed! Our French tour guide Alex was awesome.. thank you

Mahmood Khan

Nickel mine had tons of information. People were very friendly and accomodating. Michelle is a beautiful speaker and very humorous. I would recommend to all families

James Thomas

Very cool place. The staff are very informative about the different minerals and rocks there and look very passionate about their work. Very fun place.

Kimber L

Four stars only because I simply visited the Big Nickel. $6 for parking... but it was refunded because we weren't there 30 minutes.

Rob Elliott

Really neat, clearly aimed more at a younger audience.

Tristan Therrien

Always kept up too cleaning standards and always a great place to bring children or anybody of any age for great entertainment and knowledge

Sean Montgomery

Amazing fun tour with great guide! So much fun!!

John B

Stood under the giant nickel during a thunderstorm. Not sure it was a great idea. 5/5 would die again.

Scott Young

Could not go inside, I guess only open a couple days a week.... Must be because of covid or thy are out of money

Joanna “Jojo Jamil” Jamil

So interesting! Took my kids not expecting much but my 9 year old, 13 year old and I learned so much. The staff were open to all questions and very knowledgeable!

Daniel Kocsis

Visited here as a kid! Lots of cool activities

Niccardo Rhoden

Very cold in the winter but great view of the surrounding areas. A must see when in Sudbury.

Srinivas Patnaik

An enthralling experience for mining lovers..Great place to understand mining basics.

Nolan Sarlo

Attended the Game Design Challenge. Amazing venue. Great staff. ????????

Chantal Adjei-Vaillancourt

Kids had a great time, my husband ended up tearing his ligament running with my son on an activity on the 5th floor. Not sure what precautions there can be in place there.

Samantha Reed

The kids love the play area! The little play mine is really cool. Going into the actual mine was interesting. Although it is damp/wet and cool down there so bring a sweater or coat.

Jaded Marxist

Very cool experience

Ernie Shu

Great museum for kids. Mine tour is excellent.

Chris Broschell

It was interesting, took our 9 year old daughter there. The mine tour was claustrophobic but good information. However for the price you pay, there isn't a lot to do. Science North is much better value.

Michelle K.

Interesting place if you like science and geology (which I do). The mine tour was something I did once and have no interest in doing again. It was educational and I learned about the tools used for drilling and blasting procedures.

Abigail Whitall

Have not been here in a long time. Due to moving, but it's good that all of the memories I still have of dynamic earth are amazing, wether it was a school trip or just going, it was always amazing. My father bought me many minerals from there, and I really loved going underground! I give this 5 stars

Abdulaziz Al Mbarak

Amazing place, I have been there many times and will keep doing it, Great Sudbury area!

Albert Klein Horsman

Great place to take the kid's. Very educational.

Dylan Kryskow

The underground experience is really cool! Great for all ages.

Luke Booker

The pumpkin Inferno was awesome for younger kids. There is also the Tunnel of Terror for the old ones that are up to it

Tara Petrie

Sadly too commercialized! I remember loving it as you went down in the mines in a cage elevator, wore hard hats and it was real....now the elevator holds like 80 people, plays a movie and they have made the experience a fake mock up of true mining life! It’s a shame, as I wanted to share that experience with my kids and it was kind of embarrassing. Fake flicking electric candles sticks on the wall, stereo mining noises, etc... just sad. Save your money!

Dan Park (Buzzer1991)

We found staff to be rude and little direction to what we are to be doing. we were going to go underground but after my exsperance with the staff at the door being very rude about were to stand we said forget it. I would not recommend to anyone

Artur Kaleta

Great viewpoint of Sudbury. Nice place for families looking for a history of this region.

Jasmine Dubecki

Big nickle, Mine tour, topographical map interactive with sand, rocks, refining, control some machines, and more. Very kid friendly.

Ivan Kerr

Friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff! Great facility with lots for the kids to do! Even the adults were wowed!

Pritesh Patel

Great place to visit with friends and family. Underground mines are too well maintained. Tour guides are having great knowledge and supportive.

Jacob N

It is a great place with many interesting and informative exhibits, as well as a real mine tour guided by a knowledgeable tour guide. One can easily spend 3-4 hours there. In my opinion, it is worth the drive from Toronto.

M LUISA REA

Very nice. The kids love to play there. And the staff very nice

Marc Fowler

If you're road tripping through Sudbury, you owe it to yourself to check the big nickle off your list. We arrived after the museum had closed but we still got to see the nickle before going off to find food.

Paul Pickett

A sight to see when traveling trough Sudbury. Something to cross off the bucket list.

Kathleen Décosse

This place was not that exciting but we also didn’t go into the science centre attached to the big nickel.

Vincenzo Dagostino

Went during the pumkin inferno exhibit. Great place for young families and older ones. Much to see and do. Very safe with their COVID protocols and there is lots of hands on activities!

Natalie 'Mihaly' Pickett

Great landmark to capture the history of Sudbury!

Ken Hudson

Great place to bring your kids

Paul Latourelle

Never been underground a realistic look at mining offered by this place seasonal only

Jay Poel (Flux101)

You can make a whole day out of Dynamic Earth. Lots for the kids to do.

Samantha Caldicott-Rupert

A must-see when you're in Sudbury! Not just the world famous and one of a kind Big Nickel, inside there are world class exhibits and great hands on areas for kids. Last time we were there our 4 year old spent 90 minutes moving 'coal' through the mine. They also have an outdoor play area with a giant 'slag slide' and real machines kids can explore.

Sarah McCarthy

The mine tour was really interesting and gave a great perspective on what mining has been like over the years. As others have recommended, a jacket might be a good idea since it's quite cool and damp in the mine and the tour is an hour or so long. There's a nice playground for the kids to warm up again outside. And can't go to Sudbury and miss the Big Nickel!

Warren Hooper

Fascinating place that shows much about mining history.

Joel R

Excellent facility, took the kids on the mine tour loved the play area outside and inside is even better

Yasoda Hira

It was nice to visit the place to see where it all began. Seeing the big nickel was amazing and their information was very informative. I would definitely recommend to visit

Kamal Ismail

A big coin, not sure what else to say lol

Charles Brisebois

Line ups were horrible l. We wanted to see the pumpkins. Ppl were parked on the highway. We turned around and left after waiting half an hour on the road trying to turn

Muk Around

4 out of 5 only because there used to be a tour into the actual mines but no longer. Other than that very well setup and nicely run.

Tristan Grigg

Mostly for kids but has a few interesting tidbits for older audiences to enjoy.

Steven M

Went to see " the Big Nickel" only . Free parking for 45 min which is more than enough time to see the nickel and snap a few pics. Plan to visit the museum next visit

Wayne Melnechuk

Great tour. Fun and informative.

Mai Huong

Good museum, all you can learn about Niken.

Kristina H

Kids enjoyed it for a few hours. Great playground outside.

Henning Golle

Great view of the city and well put together.

Thomas Murphy

Fun to visit once ever few years

Katarina Simons

If you love rocks you will love Dynamic Earth. Everything there is to know about the ground we walk and live on. So fascinating and well done.

Kerel W

Everything was fantastic. Would be nice if there was a separate fee structure for accessing only the play areas as my son was too young for the underground tour portion.

Taylor Pratt

Offers a learning experience as well as some good photo ops!

Giuseppe D'Amario

It's expensive but it's worth it. The mine tour is worth it and is great for little kids. Lots of simulators and other things too

cache4adventures J.L

Rachel Metzger

Best place for kids and adults !!

Paul Nicholas

Great information on mining. The underground tour was fantastic.

Stanley Werener

Great place to take the kids. Brought my nephew and he loved it, especially the underground part. More geared toward older kids, but everyone had a blast including the adults. Recommend.

Jamie Laudi

Very cool . Loved it . Good for kids also .

Steve Marko

Interesting place to visit. Young children may not like to tour the mine, but there is a nice park and play structure for children.

Rob Litwin

Super cool location if interested in mining!

Iva Biggun

Janice Williams

New barber shop show great--history of sudbury, new outdoor play area nice too.. Always a great place to visit

Great tour. Museum is kinda short. Would definitely recommend

Brooke Simmons

Our trip to Dynamic Earth was highly disappointing. We were travelling to Northern Ontario (Timmins) and really wanted to get a "mining" experience. Unfortunately the Gold Mine tour in Timmins is now closed so we found Dynamic Earth and figured we would stop in on our way back to Toronto. We were on their website several times and even called. I wanted to know when the underground tours were and was told "we close at 4". I finally got it out of her that their last underground tour was at 3pm but she was not forthcoming with this. On our way back, we arrived before 1, thinking we would be good to go underground and get back on the road by 3pm. The place was empty. We were told that we couldn't take the tour for another 2 hours because we didn't speak French and they were only doing French tours until then. I found out there were only 2 people registered on the French tour so we asked if it was possible to do a bilingual tour. They were not willing to accommodate. There is nothing telling you when the tours run, which times are French so visitors can plan their visits accordingly. We detoured to this site on purpose thinking we would have loads of time. When we spoke to a manager (clearly annoyed that we interrupted her lunch break) and she told us that we didn't plan our visit very well and if we just paid the entrance fee ($20+) we could watch videos on the history of Sudbury for 2 hours until they could take us on an English tour. I'm not sure on how we were to plan differently when their website tells you nothing about tour times, and when we call they don't offer that information either. Overall a huge waste of time. They are government funded, which doesn't shock me at all regarding the level of service and overall common sense of providing valuable information to potential customers. I also found out that this was never a working mine...not a deal breaker, but not as cool as the Timmins tour would have been.

weber luo

Good for little kids to get some ideas of mining. But be aware that this is a fake mining site. It's digging under the museum that happens to locate on a hill. And the visiting tour is a fake show. Noted that there is safety exit door that outside is nice sunshine =)

Kurtis K. Cullen

My family came and a employee named Emily went beyond great customer service

Michelle Dufoe

I born in Toronto and always wanted to see this! You HAVE to see this!!!

Thinahar Rajeswaran

The gift shop has some interesting stuff.

Zimm Zimmster

It’s a must for kids and adults that love machines

Brenda Foster

Absolutely fascinating...a whole new experience to remember. The underground mine tour is a must....informative and totally interesting...one of the fastest hours I've ever spent. A Must-see!

Shilpa

Must visit but at the moment it is closed for the year 2020.

Tyler Conron

Fun exhibits, friendly and interactive staff. Great spot for young kids and adults alike. Limited time slots for the Underground Tour due to COVID restrictions. Book well in advance (+1 week at least).

Egor Kapko

Came here a few times and nickel is very pretty. However if you come at night, they turn the lights off. At least one solar panel light would be nice for all night time light.

Steve Fryers

Tunnel of Terror was kool, just don't be in the middle...everyone else gets the frights!

Joshua Bettiol

I notice that people complain alot about paid parking, and high ticket prices.. But have you ever thought of the infrastructure to run such a place? Yes.. they are a bit high, but what ever. It's the closest thing I could take my kids to to show what I do for a living. And you know what? It ain't too bad. It's not close to a modern mine, but you know what.. your actually underground. Defiantly more directed to a youngest audience.. But everyone can enjoy it

Gary Maksoudian

Nice getaway and friendly locals.

Dionysios Gosselin

Amazing and fun in every way with my 9 and 6 year olds.

Vince Duncan

Place could have made there park accessible to the public when there not open.. it's nice tho for a one time visit with the kids

Sebastian Kluth

The Big Nickel and its surrounding park and museum are the most remarkable things to visit in and around Sudbury and exemplify local culture and history.

Mgalactic Go

Excellent place to bring family for afternoon of sudbury fun. Learn what sudbury is all about with great activities and neat facts.

Sylvain Leotard (Sylvanito)

Nice museum though not very big. The underground tour 70ft down in the mine is quite fun, and our guide Matteo was nice managing the group and making fun stories. The room downstairs is also worth the time with a lot of simulators. There's also a mineral trading room. Lots of interactive content, kids will love it.

Verlisha Phillip

Wonderful museum, but big heads up!! If you're thinking to visit Sudbury and Dynamic Earth, there is an underground tour of the mines, and to experience this you need to book your tickets 2-3 weeks in advance. Without the tour there is still plenty to do and learn. Sudbury is full of history and dynamic earth has different activities to engage and educate both adults and children.

Peter Traplin

I always love visiting dynamic earth. The big nickel is one of Sudbury's better known tourist sites. They offer a number of fun activities for families including the museum, play area and tours. I highly recommend calling ahead and arranging your visit so you can go on tour. If you're looking for family friendly fun in Sudbury look no further. I highly recommend a visit!

Rick Girthquake

More like dynamic girth. The residents of Scudbury are slippery degenerates who enjoy pumping pizza slices into their large sweaty boilers. When they aren't generating amber alerts at 5am, you can find the local chunkertons pounding deep fried treats into their gullets.

Tobel G

Went to the Halloween spectacular. What an experience!!! Loved the pumpkin display, and the haunted house was the best I have ever been in (and I have been in quite a few)

Haley Swanson

Best place to go during the fall season

Amelia Sapinski

Loved every moment of our visit and I highly recommend. We did the underground tour of the mine, it was very interesting. My boys had a lot of fun looking at the various stones/minerals using black lights and microscopes.

Rodger Whitman

Tour was a fun way to cool off in hot summer . Very informative exhibits and staff.

Andrew Phoenix

What a phenomenal facility! Lots of stuff to do for the kids and the adults, super interesting, and the staff were wonderful.

Branden McWha

A must stop on a family road trip. There were lots of things for the kids to do.

Julie

Great place to bring kids. Educational and fun, a perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon.

Rebecca J

A cool experience! The attractions are more geared towards families with children but I still learned a lot!

Randy Parker

It was very interesting place to visit fascinating how the nickel and other materials are removed

Kelly Nebreda

PumpkInferno was so creative! Very interesting event, kid-friendly (although can be a bit late for the little ones), they had science experiment presentation and you could sit around a fire while an employee shared a "spooky" story (again, kid-friendly!) Definitely recommend!

Laurie Haldenby

Interesting place. Great place to take your kids for a educational but fun afternoon

Hayden Jambrich

Big nickel indeed

Bharathi Rao

This place is worth visiting at least once. Wonder why its located at such a remote place, because it is a really good tourist attraction and would have gained lot of attention.

Gary Roney

Great place to bring family and spend a couple hours learning about geology and having fun.

Ricky B

Kind of cool. $6 for parking to see the giant nickel, which is silly, but cool to show the kids something interesting on our journey across the country.

Khaja Splettstoesser (Amber)

really awesome if you want to learn about geology and the earth. definitely do the underground mine tour.

jon dobson

Great place to bring children. Mine tour was great. Very knowledgeable staff. Keep up the great work!

Gail Martin

Fun mine tour! Loved seeing the big nickel again.

Oksana Onufryk/Tubaro

It was closed when we arrived around 3pm Sunday. Signs said they would b open so a bit disappointing. The area gives a great view of the city. The big nickel is impressive. The "mining" theme play area for the kids looked great through the fence. At the very least the gift shop should have been open...

Vera Charles

Small but packed with interesting information featuring rocks and mining. The underground tour takes you down a mine shaft and back in time, simply fascinating! For the little ones there is an outdoor playground and and indoor play mine that has 3 levels, where the young minors (4-10) can wear a minor's suit and move oar by shovel, elevator, cart, or conveyor belt. They also enjoyed panning for gold, and any gold found you get to keep!

B Keith Neely

Excellent mine experience for all ages. Great learning play areas for kids indoors and out. A family can spend a few hours here easily. Beware the mine tour itself is in a real underground non-working mine shaft so prepare for cool and wet conditions walking on a packed down gravel path. Don,t wear fancy clothes or foot wear.

Wade Anderson

I'm kind of geeky about minerals and mining, so it was great for me. If you're not impressed with a mine-head, plan on a short stop.

Ethan Braid-Cripps

Amazing sight to see but I did not go in to the building sadly I hear it was amazing

Cara Szczepanik

You have to pay to park and there us only one parking option. RIP OFF!!

Maxime Zoumari

I wish there were more public awareness campaigns about that place. Although it represents some of the human greed to exploit anything the earth has to offer for the wealthy to be wealthier, it allowed thousands of people to have a job and feed their families. And the city of Sudbury to thrive at one point. We found out, after our visit, that this place runs on solar energy! Thank you to all those who work and volunteer there!

Prama (sunflowersandsunshine)

AMAZINGGGG EXPERIENCE!!

Ross Hainer

Closed for unforseen circumstances

Shirley Huang

We didn't get to go in as the building was closed but the nickel is still available for public access and photos

Michelle F

Great for a family visit! Loved it!

susan manderson

Informative tour.

matthew girard

nice place, really kid focus , staff is great, 5 star for employe

Kayla Charles

If you like rocks and are curious about mining, this is for you! Be prepared to wear warmer clothing for below ground as it is 7 stories down. The ground is wet so wearing sneakers is a good idea. Great experience but remember that this is for all ages so the tour guide does not go into great detail about everyone, it is pretty straight forward. The Epiroc theatre is amazing - it is huge and a few very cool documentaries are available. You can end your tour at the gift shop where you can find a lot of neat things.

Victor Torres

Very interesting to see mining throughout the ages! Good tour. It is too wet inside.

James Langlois

Fun .intresting.an wheelchair accessible

Lynne

Had a great birthday party for our son here. They always love the indoor and outdoor parks.

rebecca russell

Awesome place to take my son, very informative and well set up.

Dean Holbrough

Going underground and reviewing the history of mining was a great experience. Well done!

Courtney Lipke

Absolutely worth the time! We did the full tour and it was great, even the kids loved it

Chirag T

Cool place to learn about the history of Sudbury and mining in Canada

Drew Howlett

This was an awesome place to go as a kid. I came here not to long ago and saw nothing but improvements. I just hope that the staff could be a little friendlier.

Deborah Roberts

What an educational informative and fun experience. Will do it again next chance I get.

Rafiq Rahemtulla

Wonderful science centre/museum focused on mining and earth science. A great themed playground for kids, home of the big nickel and interesting and engaging exhibits. A must visit when in Sudbury.

Ivan Ceballos

It's unbelievable how many different stones/minerals you can see there, the museum is worth a visit, specially the mine underground. I bought a nickel coin fridge magnet but for my surprise it was made in china, which is weird coming from a Nickel mine.

Tyler P

Decent for a one time thing. Cannot see a reason for repeat visits though. Their highlight is the underground tour which is informational about mining and Sudbury's past but that is about it. What else can be done for tourist or even locals to retake the tour??? The mini museum section, theatre, playground is a nice add-on. Check it out if in the area. It is also nice that paid parking voucher here is also valid for use at Science North.

Maciej Janiak

Great place to visit. Amazing attraction for younger and older people. Little bit on expensive side. Parking cost 6 dollars plus entry to the center which is 20+ per person.

Canadiansugar Angel

Very knowledgeable employees. Lots of hands on things to do. The underground mine tour was a blast. I recommend bringing a light jacket as the mine is quite cool and wet. Kids playground outside and a nice cafe inside.

Raziat Fatima

One of the best museums to take kids to. Enjoyed every bit of it, especially when they take you several feet’s down to the underground mines. It’s so cool and kids thoroughly enjoyed!!

Nikhil Dewan

Loved seeing the "Big Nickel". Simulated underground mine tour was impressive.

Shreyan Mehta

Place which is know for mine...therefore must go...and also the shop is very cheap

Helen Bolshaw-Walker

Interesting and worth a visit if you're in the area.

Dave Smith

Kind of touristy. The mine tour was okay, seemed kind of fake. Our tour guide wasn't a very good talker. Kept stumbling over her words

Kyle Mckay

Was a great time, took about 3 hours. Would be one hour more if there was room on mining tour (underground). Some of the virtual stations did not work. But the videos and interactive videos were very educational and interesting. Would recommend. Bring some interesting rocks, they will identify and allow trade based on points. Great fun. Kids enjoyed that most.

Christine Gonzalez

Awesome. Loved the tour down through the mine and seeing how it worked.

Veronica Hannah

Love it . Just wish the season was longer to enjoy it more

Lester Jacobs

The mine tour was good and the Big Nickel was good photo opportunity but I found that rest of the exhibits were just okay. One standout was the new cooling tower exhibit which I found to be very interesting.

Benjamin Munro

Very interesting and interactive guided tours in the underground mine, a must if you are visiting. You go down a big elevator and enter into an old time mine and as the tour progresses, arrive in modern tunnel mining.

Mike Fragomele

So many things for kids to do, and very educational and engaging activities.

Hasnat Tareq

Must visit if you are in Sudbury. Most Valuable 5 Cents in Canada! :-)

Richard Day

Unlike other mine tours I have taken, they demonstrate three different eras of mining: 1880's, 1950's and current. The aboveground exhibits were also very informative and helpful.

Rob

For the rest of the story see below but heres the negative part. This year they put in a new play ground and we were so excited but we didn't have time to take in the attraction. We paid our parking and asked how much to play in the playground, because you couldn't get to it from outside (it was gated!!) We were told FULL ADMISSION!!!! For my family that's $94.00. Background My Wife, children , and I have come here every year for 10 years and have a photo taken with the Big Nickel. It's our tradition. We have always enjoyed the playground to let our kids expend a little energy before getting back in the car. 2 years ago we came and things had changed. First there is now a ChArge for parking. I felt that this was ok as it would help contribute something even if you weren't taking in the attraction. Second they removed the playground. Not only did my kids 11,9 & 3 play there(not so much my 3 year old) but we always took a picture on the slide. This place has become more money hungry and should really Institute a small fee so kids can play at the park.

S K

Amazing experience. Great to see the home of Big Nickel. The tour was truly a learning experience. Definitely recommend a visit. The restaurant facilities could definitely do better on their menu. Not many choices for vegetarians.

Sam M

Underground tour was great. Price of tour + admission is good value, but don’t know if admission on its own is worth the price charged. CoVid protocols left us all feeling safe, including reduced capacity, but still need to be cautious to maintain space. I’ve been on a couple of mine tours before & what set this one apart was what I was able to learn about modern mining techniques (most other places seem to be located where mining has long since ended), which alone made it worth it to me. Definitely recommend

Debbie

Was there for the pumpkin display. Well done.

Adam Marshall

It was fun but the website isn't clear on weather or not stuff is sold out. It was still fun though, a lot of do.

Shwetank Dave

This is a fantastic place.

C.J Finnie

Amazing!! Fantastic museum. Highly recommend the underground mine tour. It is cool & damp so wear jacket. Knowledgeable tour guides making tour interesting for all ages. Had a blast...(literally) Char & Don

fish Army

Had a great time with my family the underground mine tour was very interesting.

Bruce Laird

My son was doing a project on Nickel and Silver - so we planned an impromptu overnight visit to Sudbury... we had a Great Time at Dynamic Earth - the tour guide was knowledgeable - lots of interaction and some great simulators and shows on everything you ever wanted to know about mining and metal extraction and refining - the girl at the front desk was blah..... and not helpful that cost them the fifth star... Awesome experience though

Stewart Kelly

Visited with my kids- perfect place for them- lots for kids to do and very hands on - so for them it's perfect. Adults will find it interesting too. They have updated some of their interactive displays since my last visit so that is good. It is a bit pricey especially as you have to pay for parking too. Appears to be staffed primarily with students working for the summer. Friendly staff for the most part. If you have not been here before and you have kids, I would recommend it. If you have been before (like me) then I would go try find something else to do. Views of Sudbury and the superstack pretty good from the parking lot. And of course, you can't come to Sudbury without getting your picture taken in front of the Big Nickel.

John Anderson

Exhibit is great but they locked up the kids play ground. Really you need to pay for your kids to use the play ground.

Joan Provencher

Fantastic Tour...answered all my questions and learned lots

David Talbot

Really enjoyed the mine tour. Movie was very informative

Aaron Murray

You get to go into a mine! It's a unique experience for kids and adults.

Aga Sleeth

Such an amazing place! Both for kids and adults!

syed jafri

Total waste of time and money!!! The trip is strictly guided through a very small portion of mine and only 45 minutes long. During 45 minutes it was more about listening the guide about tools and history of mining rather than walking around to explore at your own.

K Dav

Angele was a great tour guide who dealt with the kids that threw fits on the tour. Very professional and great tour.

Curtis Wilson

Had so much fun, even without kids with us! Definitely recommend this place!

Liz Bert

Excellent exhibits and interactive structures and materials for children. Very professional and informative staff. I learn something new every time I go.

James Dalimonte

I recommend everyone to visit this adults and kids will love it.

Clark McMaster

Weird place... The floating stone globe that you can force it's spin around in the lobby is awesome. I want one.

Raymond Readhead

Very educational visit a must see place

Imswinging TubGIrl

it smells bad hyere i dont like it my sun pooped hiself when in elevater

Darryl Hanson

Fantastic family experience. A true look into the Nickel mining our city is famous for

Chris and Jennifer Carswell

So much fun! Our little ones are still talking about our trip there the other day!

Nicolas Grenier

Very cooperative staff and very interesting exhibits! I would recommend to anyone interested in learning more about Sudbury's mines, or anyone wanting to learn about geology in general.

Laura Hill

Fun place to visit with kids. We were there midweek while school was still in and other than the school group doing their tour we had almost the whole place to ourselves, the playground both in and outdoors is terrific for young children. Lots of things to learn and see, interactive and interesting!

Blair W

Great tour of the mine, bring a sweater. Great place to spend an afternoon

Frances Carvalho Cavanagh

Amazing tour of the mine... Our guide (Kayla, I think was her name) was awesome and very upbeat and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my toddler. They had strollers available too.

Matt Damota

I didn't go in, they were not open yet 8am. But did go see the big nickel, it was big. Information plaques everywhere very informative cool things to know.

Patricia Duchesne

Really for children not adults

Raymond Guang

we had our son's birthday parth at dynamic earth last week, and my son and his friends had a great time. only small suggestions, during the birthday party demonstration, we have 7 kids and the host only provided 2 bowls of slims for them to play. some smaller kids are missing out. i would suggest a bowl of stuff per two kids so they can share. but other than that, it was a great experience for the kids.

HEIDI and STEVE

Great for the family, kids didn't want to leave!

Ryan Beatty

Good for children, definitely an interesting day.

D Beatty

Enjoyed the tour but thought it was expensive for what you received. I wasnt impressed with the tour guide, thought she was a little over the top...she knew her information but her delivery was rather annoying at times.

Philip Lee

Amazing experience with the mine tour. Lots of interactions for the kids to participate and have fun.

Leigh-Anne & Lee

We were unable to utilize the grounds or museum inside due to covid-took lots of pictures from afar and of course with the big nickle! We'll check it out in the spring and hopefully it will be open then.

Lei Xu

Must see if you are there.

Andre Brasil

amazing staff, facilities. going into the mine was great! will quite likely go there again

Amanda Mallick

Dynamic Earth in the summer is great. Love the tours, and workers are so knowledgeable...Love the pumpkin inferno in October...

George Kean

The is a magic and exciting place for adults, but for children a wonderland. The cafe is great and the gift shop is unique and adds to the wonder of the place. Wear shoes for the mine, you can make it OK for sandals, but it is a little wet on the mine floor. George Kean Aurora, NC

Margaret Holly

Nice view. Not open but will be much better when it is.

C JUNEJA

Great tour of the mines Outdoor kids play area is amazing

Jason Labrosse

great place to bring your kids especially during the Halloween season

Carl Anderson

Nice place to take a picture with the nickle but the attraction is closed.

Prabhdeep Sodhi

One of the best spots to visit in Sudbury. Gives you a once in lifetime experience. The underground tour is the best part.

Aleksandra Webber

Fun for the whole family

Zachary Jacques

Great visit underground! Lots of activities above ground too

Alex Gerashchenko

It was enjoyable. Kids loved the underground tour.

Tom O'Donoughue

Good for the kids to visit and learn mining history

Jesse McCauley

Pretty cool. First time to sudbury, gotta check it out. I grew up in Sudbury and only went when I was 41. 28 years too late. Worth checking out

Rachel Fraser

Lots of fun and good halloween events.

Paulo Unia

Nice view, can go see the nickel for free if you dont want to do the whole experience

Kayla Dormer

Great Halloween experience

James Lantz

Really great place for the kids and the grown ups. I hope to go back again and learn more about what God has given us in His creation. It's awesome. The displays, mining, birds, animals and Wow the butterflies. Thanks

Dawn East

Went with my grandson and had a lot of fun learning about mining and playing.

Kandis C

Great place to learn about Canada's history. Knowledgeable staff and hands on experiences.

ROLLIE CAT

This is the place where the Big Nickel is located. Dynamic Earth helps us trace that part of Greater Sudbury's prehistoric past when it was catastrophically hit by large meteor thereby causing the crater-shaped valley that it is today.

Andrea C

Great underground tour great kids section but nothing changes too much

Abhinav Garg

Excellent place to visit if you want to learn about mines. They have a good setup basically just for Tourist. My only suggestion would be to improve ticket price (lower) and make tour more entertaining.

Byron Mayhew

Had a lot of fun with the kids Pumpkin Inferno!

Ron Rynteli

Very fun, mines are great and is like a fun history lesson for sudbury

Sylvie Dauphinais

It was short 10 minutes walk, nothing is real to expensive for 12$

萧炎

Very good place, recommend you can try it.

cassie feyen

My husband and I went to dynamic earth today and at 2pm had an underground tour with Ava Heather. 10/10. She was knowledgable, fun and made our experience even better. You can tell she loves what she does.

G Ash

I hadn't been in years. Interesting time and Christine the geologist helped identify rocks for me from the set I purchased for my classroom in the gift shop. Staff was great but who sells a set of minerals for $50 without tags for identification. Good thing they have knowledgeable and friendly staff. Thanks again Christine you were awesome.

Gregory Young

Exhibits are suitable for young kids with a little more information for Parents an teens. The mine tour and exhibits are good enough to mostly fill a day.

Eldon Phillips

Great tour guide. She was humorous and knowledgeable.

Poppo Po

Fun place to go with children

Jamie Roque Jason Daoust

If you come to Sudbury, Dynamic Earth should be your first stop! New experiences being developed all the time! Gotta love Sudbury!

Guylaine Lavoie

It's been over 15 yrs ago, but I truly enjoyed the tour and of course, the underground mines was amazing. The fact my my late father worked at the mine 1955-1964 makes it even more special to me ????

Al Becker

I love this place in October. I wish I could give you more stars.

Dennis Porteous

Great place for kids to learn, very informative

Wendy Lavallee

This was a great place to visit all interactive for the anyone took a mine tour!

Haydn Streeter

Great food! Great service, and a really friendly staff... Highly recommend.

jona taylor

Love it here, they have made so many changes since I was a kid that bringing my daughter was a whole new experience.

Alicia Smith

My family and I visited both Science North and Dynamic Earth today. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and obviously enjoy their work. One gentleman in particular, stood out as truly exceptional. David was our tour guide for the 3:15 mining tour. On the tour, he engaged his audience, particularly the kids, he was knowledgable and entertaining. He also took extra time to share his extensive knowledge of archeology and anthropology with us. David is truly passionate about his studies, his work at the centre as well as your guests. It was heartening to see so much enthusiasm in a young person with his wealth of knowledge and leadership skills. He made our day and our visit to Sudbury. I feel your centre, staff and guests are fortunate to have him on your team Thank you, Alicia, Shawn and Kai

Graham Hill

Great family experience. Take a guided tour of the mines which shows the changes in methods from 100 yrs ago, 50 yrs ago, and today. A theatre showing different documentaries: volcanos, dinosaurs, evolution of humans. Learn to control interactive diggers too.

Al P

Big nickel is cool, though it looks like it could be cleaned XD

Luce Fortin

When we were young the big coin in Sudbury was a must see. 50 years later, it was worth the detour.

Allan D

Great place to see a mine. David the tour guide was knowledgeable and funny.

Kelly Zytaruk

Loved seeing the "big nickel". Simulated underground mine tour was great. Trading center for rock hounds. Bring in your own rocks for trade for other items available. Inventory changes frequently depending on what other people have traded.

Wes LeBlanc

Loved it, kids had so much fun, will go back

Bradley Saville

Great mine tour and info on different types of metals, coins

Dave Kabbes

It was neat to see how mining was done in the past in comparison to how it is done today.

Margaret Lau

Stopped here to see the big nickel. Usually parking is charged, but we told them we would only be here for 15 mins, so they let us get in for free.

James K

Pumpkinferno never fails to please!

Brittney S

The mine tour is a ton of fun and who goes to Sudbury without a picture of the giant Nicole? The education is awesome and getting to experience true pitch black is just an experience you don't really forget.

Cassidy Richter

Awesome place to learn about mining and the history of Sudbury. They have some really cool simulators, and the underground tour is really cool! Around halloween is a great time to visit as well - they have a giant carved pumpkin display outside, and the mine tunnel turns into the tunnel of terror! A must do in Sudbury.

Glenna Keating

I enjoyed visiting Dynamic Earth with a friend of mine. They host travelling exhibits, so there is always something new to see. For Ontario150 they have a great outdoor media show after the sun goes down. Highly recommend a visit if you're in Sudbury.

B. Colleen Couture

This place is incredible, should make it up to Sudbury

Kevin Blois

Fun

Gaetanne Larocque

Had 2 great play areas for my 4 year old. And the tour kept her interested. Danielle was our guide and she was fantastic.

John Wong

Nice exhibits and I love those you can touch or try type of exhibit, unlike other museum focus on wordings or pics. I particularly like remote control a small rock breaker machine. Great tour and very fun. The outdoor science park and indoor kid areas keep my little ones busy for hours. This is a must-visit if you visit Sudbury.

Rich Pollard

The mine tour was fun. The staff was excellent

J Scnitzel

Standard tourist attraction

Natalia Fedosova

Great experience for kids and parents, we loved the tour and the museum as well! It's a good place to spend a whole day

Bill

Excellent for anyone interested in earth sciences or mining. Relatively fun exhibits and a great underground tour.

Mirza Bacchus-Misir

Always unique and new, they work on good themes, and change often. Plus the Star Parties are a nice bonus.

Valavan S

Great place. The mine underground tour was excellent. We had a great tour guide, Sofia. She explained the aspects of mining in 1800 to latest technology very well. The gift shop too nice. I will visit again.

Eh Vee

Exciting exhibits, helpful very knowledgeable team of staff and very community oriented!

Marcelle Boulet-Dupuis

You have to do it all or nothing. If you do not have 4 hours to spare to visit completely you can only see the building....

Bree Gordon

Cool place but, Nothing much to do

yeppi jeff

Really cool museum...! it was so much fun for the kids and also for the grown ups...

Mike Harris

Knowledgeable staff. Unique collection. The mine tour is a must-see for anyone driving through town

So nice to be recieved by super friendly staff. We really enjoyed our visit, and gold fever movie very much enjoyed.

Donald Prevost

My son loved the mining tour. People that worked here are knowledgeable and engaged. Zoe was an awesome tour guide.

Scott Baldry

Very good and interactive. Eveeyone enjoyed the inside tour

Karen Piazza

Amazing time!!! Great prices and friensly staff!

Soroush Beheshti Zavareh

the Dynamic earth has a museum a little play ground and a big nickel. it is good for taking pictures also good to have your familly or friend with you. we didn't pay for the museum we just visited the coin also we waren't there for more then 45 minutes so they gave us our parking money back, the good part is that's right that we didn't pay for the museum, even if you don't pay you can see some parts of the museum and I think is better nit to pay for the museum!

Tec Savvy

The staff of the museum is a bit rude and "loud". She embarrassed us in front of other guests. She could have be more pro active instructing guests. She needs more training on "customer service". I love the place though. Clean, lots of parking space, nice view, etc.

D Pollock

Must see, fascinating to see all the various metals, etc, found in the rocks, Having been under ground while working for a major tire company doin tire inspections, still found the underground tour very informative the evolution of methods, and equipment, well worth the time and money

Sarah Hutcheon

Great place to take kids. Kids 7 and up will likely appreciate it the best. Lots of Interactive activities. Bring rocks/ gems to trade.

Mark Keene

Nice place. You can do the Underground Tour for $22.00. If you live close by the season pass is a great option if you plan on visiting often. This is an excellent facility to being kids with a lot of hands on exhibits. Highly recommend to visit and learn some history of Sudbury.

ning gu

Must see in Sudbury.

Alina Galica

Very informative and fun. Great for adults and kids alike.

bhavana mahajan

Best place for kids. They have so many activities to engage kids from all ages from park to ozobots. Underground tour is must do thing.

Joe MacPherson

It was closed far too early in the fall. It should be open until after Halloween. Why have Halloween decorations if the facility is closed?

froggyboy98

Recommend bringing your children for the Halloween activities.

Donald Boudreau

great detail and informative guide, loved the tour of the mine

Vipul Kapadia

Drove all the way from Toronto because i heard good reviews about this place.. i found this place to be "just OK". Can describe this as - a cave tour with bad quality speakers, poor sound effects and no working mining equipments.. (probably i had high expectations)

Matthew DeJong

Awesome place a lot of fun for kids and parents

Usman Butt

It's a nice place, lots of learning the best part is the mine tour. Got to see an actual mine with machinery and stuff. Guide was informative. Kids loved it. Mine tour was surprisingly non-claustrophobic. Although the museum above is a bit boring for the toddlers, but very informative for the adults.

Sarah Mikulski

Great mine tour, and especially fun for kids who collect rocks

Adam Beaunoyer

A prettt cool place for kids and adults. I really enjoyed that they let you hold scorpions and spiders. The mine tour was also unique.

Justin Watson

Lots of fun! It's nice to learn about rocks and geology 9f Sudbury

Colleen Atkinson

Great staff, great place to take kids, loved it there, will go back

Guy Moreau

While the mine is not a real one - it is purpose built for the museum - it is still a great experience. Gotta love rocks however!

James Robinson (CSC)

This place was pretty cool. Paid a few dollars and got the "tour"

Randy Mcgrath

I visited for the haunted tunnel.even 2018 staff was rude and unprofessional and event not well.organized!!!

Jennifer Haywood

Kids love it an always have a good time

Stephen MacDonald

Great environment and everyone was more than helpful.

Chris Kennedy

Went to the pumkinferno for the first time! Had a blast! Highly recommend!

Vincenzo Cece

Definitely worth a visit if in the area!

geoff giles

Great things happening at Dynamic Earth! Lots of hands on activities for all ages, and abilities, informative and helpful guides throughout, and an excellent underground mining experience!

Muhammad Nashir

The museum might be good but it's hours are ridiculous and shuts it's doors at 4 even on weekends. Reached there at 4.10 pm and there was nobody. Outside it is a beauty but the real knowledge is inside.

Debbie Taylor

Always a favorite place to visit when in Sudbury. The area continues to develop and change, so many trees! A must see! True Canadiana!

Tracey Rowe

Such a scenic view for a quick rest stop

Jason Best

The place has potential however were very unprepared for a Saturday afternoon. The cafeteria ran out of food and cream for coffee?? The museum was interesting with lots to read, touch and learn. The tour was terrible. Mateo needs a different job at the centre, a tour guide he is not.

David Thai

If you are looking for a true mine experience, I won't recommend this place. But if you are looking for an educational program for younger kids (not for pre-teens and up, my 12 year old son found it boring), surely you are at the right place. You will go about 20m down in an elevator and the mine is devided into three sections - early mines, mid century mine and modern mine. The tour would take about an hour. They have a nice gift shop but the prices are above average.
