I don’t know how to rate this place because I have not been to this place before. But for right now at least I am just going to give this place one star because I don’t know how to rate this place because I have not been to this place before. But I do have a question here. But before the question I have some other stuff to say. I have heard that Greenland is a territory of Denmark but is completely on the North American plate. So therefore greenland is usually considered to be a part of North America. But when I look at google maps it says that this point in Canada is the easternmost point of North America. Now my question. If greenland is considered a part of North America shouldn’t the easternmost point of Greenland be the easternmost point in North America instead of this point in Canada?

Visited with my parents in 1984, and for a brief moment - I was THE easternmost person on the entire continent of North America. It was cold, even in August, and windy. But beautiful coastline and a nice park area. Hope to go back someday.

(Translated) It is a historical site managed by the National Park Service. It is located at the easternmost tip of Canada, and to the east is the vast Atlantic Ocean. (Original) 屬於國家公園管理局管理的歷史遺跡,位於加拿大的最東端,再向東就是浩瀚無垠的大西洋。

Could be a full-on sunny day or foggy as the devil...still an enchanting, peaceful place to visit and take in some world class scenery!

LIES This is not the easternmost point of mainland North America because this is an island so it can’t be mainland and the actual easternmost point of North America all together is in Alaska so this is a lie

Always a pleasure shooting landscape (and seascapes!) at Cape Spear. Dress for the wind and the cold though. Can't wait for the whales and icebergs to come.

Beautiful spot!! Got to see an incredible sunrisr!!

Since moving to St. John's to experience Canada we've seen a little of what Newfoundland has to offer. Thus far Cape Spear is our favorite place to see and watch the ocean. Great paths that provide excellent viewpoints and of course the ocean doesn't and never disappoints. Has become our regular go to fix when the ocean calls.

I grew up in St. John's so I've seen most of the sights. Cape Spear is one I consistently come back to often, when I visit NL. Just the power of the North Atlantic on the rocks is enough make most visits inspiring, but once in a while there are extra treats. Today, humpback whales, including one just 10m off the rocks right in front of me.

Fabulous views of the Atlantic coast. Local trail connects Cape Spear with Maddox Cove. Lots of parking in two lots. Parks Canada interpretation helps visitors get the most out of this historic and interesting site.

We saw the views early just before noon in September of 2019, however it turned foggy. Visibility was poor and the clouds came out quickly . Go early if you have time visit Cape Spear Lighthouse which is further up on the hill.

Went for sunrise June 2, 2019. Tip, try to be there 30 minutes before sunrise time to see the gradual pink lightening before the sun peaks up. We just made it in time pulling into the lot as the first hint of the sun appeared. There were only a couple other people there. Was a beautiful experience. Got lots of lovely pics. Was nice to walk around and explore.

Had the great opportunity to spend some time wandering the grounds here at the Most Easterly Point in North America. It was a rare beautiful day, with bright sun and no wind. Like I said, Rare! As an added treat, there were a number of whales offshore, playing, breaching and blowing off through their spouts. Absolutely Fabulous! I visit on my motorcycle or car several times a year, but never make it past the parking lot usually. There's a lot to see and do. If you haven't gone, You Should Go, Now!!!

Unbelievably beautiful... 30 mph winds, rough splashy Atlantic Ocean views as we walked to the Easternmost pt of NA. How cool was that you ask? About 25° wind-chill cool????

Beautiful spot but NOT the easternmost point of North America. Depending on your definition of North America, there are three "easternmost" spots: Nordostrundingen, Greenland (Greenland is geographically/geologically part of North America); Semisopochnoi Island, Alaska (so far west it is the first part of North America in the Eastern Hemisphere); or Cape Saint Charles, Labrador, which is the easternmost point of continental North America. However you look at it, this is not the easternmost point; it's a beautiful part of the world with a contrived label to generate tourism.

It's definitely pretty far east. I tried to go more easterly, and I nearly fell off of a cliff. Want to head east from here? Get a boat. Or a plane. Great place to watch the sunrise, lousy place for a sunset. I've gotten up at 5:30 am for this place FOUR times!!
