Great little island to hike and camp. We reserved our campground at the other end of the island and had to hike out then back in: great trails and fauna! It had rained 3 of the 4 previous days and we did not find it as muddy as other reviewers mention, however don’t expect your white canvas Converse’s to emerge spotless on the other end of this hike. Definitely recommend a catered boat ride around to Petite Basque and surroundings to see the unique bird species to this area, seals, whales, etc, worth the very affordable fee (we saw a minke and a fin whale)

(Translated) Superb island with beautiful scenery! The southern tip is worth it with its view from above. We made a round trip between the wharf and the southern tip with very brief breaks in about 2h30. Pay close attention to the trails, especially when coming back from the southern tip. Even though it's the same route, it looks like doing it on the way back is more difficult than going there (with mud and wet rocks). The last rain was 3 days on the island and everything was still very muddy so don't expect everything to be dry after 2-3 days of sunshine. The team on site always seems active in improving the trails by creating wooden bridges to avoid areas that are too muddy / wet, so I think it's just going to get better :) (Original) Superbe île avec beau paysage!

(Translated) Despite the ultra muddy paths, even flooded in some places, the small beaches are superb and the southern tip is magnificent and worth a detour. We passed almost people on the trails. The young girls at the reception said that we had to count 5:30 am to 6 am to make the full tour of the island. We were disappointed because this was our goal, but we only had about 4:30. We went towards the southern tip, returned by the middle path and we had time left so we went to the belvedere which overlooks 7 islands and we still had time on our return. So if you are good walkers, you have the time to do it I would say in 4h30, because with all that we have done, we have to walk more than what it would have taken to make the grand tour.
