I felt in love with that place since my first visit! I always go down the hill while cycling despite the fact that you have to climb back then and the trail is gravy+sand that stresses my road bike.

Alexis Defoirdt

(Translated) Wow, the descent from kingston rd is done peacefully, a nice path of fine gravel, we follow a small artificial torrent but has the very natural aspect and at the end of the path a real slap! We come out on the lake, in front of the sculpture, a very beautiful very natural arrangement, pretty birds greet you ... nature takes its rights and magnifies the place (Original) Waouw , la descente depuis kingston rd se fait paisiblement , un joli sentier de gravier fin , on suit un petit torrent artificiel mais a l'aspect très naturel et au bout du chemin une véritable claque ! On débouche sur le lac , devant la sculpture un tres bel aménagement tres naturel , de jolis oiseaux vous saluent... la nature reprends ses droits et magnifie l'endroit

Nice hike but must have proper footwear to use, optional walking stick. Bring knapsack to carry snacks/water and carry any waste out. Avoid using after heavy rainfall as it can become dangerous if not already closed off by parks staff. Use TTC 102 Markham (runs north from Warden Stn) and get off at Bellamy Rd S then walk down via Ravine Dr). Parking limited and be aware of non parking zone.

Robert George

Love the view. It doesn't feel like it's in your backyard!

Nice place....can't believe in Scarborough we have places like this....you need to walk a lot...walking back is difficult as it's hills

Bo W

I like the the steep trail borders greek, and leads to the sculpture, rib of fish or canoe.

Tim Chase Photography

I was hesitant as to weather I really wanted to walk down the Doris McCarthy Trail when I first seen it and knew it's all down hill and then made the first corner and got more of a view downhill I just couldn't stop walking. This area of Scarborough is truly amazing. All the way down to Passage I'm filling my camera card up and by the time I reach the bottom I've got over 85 images. You can walk east or west from the Art work facing the lake. Just outstanding all the way east. Every few steps was another great image of the lake and the bluffs. There's still 3 swans in the water and plenty of ducks swimming around. The swans do seem a little hoarse when making noise but I would be also in the cold lake water.

Didn’t get to go down to water the trail we choose was jus a view point but it was a good hike and view. There are other areas to approach the water maybe we will try that next time. The trail we took was between the houses. Attached is a map pic where we started the hike from.

A beautiful calmed place within minutes from the city. Right on the lake, after a few minutes hike, it takes you away from the noise and traffic, bringing you to a fantastic hideaway. Take the shortcut through the trees, it is worth it.

Good experience. Nice scenic views

I really enjoyed my visit here late in the season. The only downside was it was lightly drizzling that day. The trail should not be attempted if you are not in at least okay shape. There is good footing but it is very steep. The trail is only about 1km in length, but it's a 90m drop. 70m of the descent occurs in the last 100m of the trail. Once at the bottom, there is a gravel trail along the lakefront that runs from The Guild towards Toronto. Going towards Toronto from here you can see a few shacks slowly falling over the eroding cliff edge.

Ataul “Sahil” Karim

Enjoy the waves...

Krishna Potharaju

It is really a beautiful place to spend a nice evening with your family on the shore of Lake Ontario. The trail leading to the shore is about 1.2 Kms, you will have plenty of space to explore on the shore. There are couple of things that you need to be aware of. 1. The shore is full of large and small pebbles and you may feel some pain in your feet if you don't wear proper shoe. 2. The trail is a slope as you can expect when going towards the shore, please get prepared with necessary gear like strollers if you are coming with your children or support sticks if you need some extra support for your legs on your way back to the street. To the photographer friends out there, get a drone, you will get beautiful shots here.

Clean waters, gorgeous viewes and multiple spots to sit and enjoy the view and boats passing by. Can take your own paddle boats and enter the water as well. A bit of a walk from where you can park the car but definitely worth it. Nice place to for romantic date or fun family afternoon.

Tina Dalie

Beautiful and peaceful trail easily accessible. Two big hills to go down. Dismount bike for safety reasons. Trail is covered in gravel. Waterfront is rocky and there is a lot of construction debris but I'm not sure from what. I hope that the waterfront is cleaned up soon!

Great trail down to a wild beach (in the winter it seems almost oceanic) and the sculpture is a fantastic marker to know where your route back up is. It's a long walk back up, so save some energy. Bonus points if you like picking through a million old bricks!

peter liu (OceanBleu)

Lack of public parking in the area. But you can park after 6 or 7pm road side. Nice work out of you like to walk a loop back from the Doris Macarthy Trail with a Ravine, The Bluff nearby. Or enjoy a city walk follow the scenic route. About 1km round trip, 10-15 mins up and down the gravel steep hill.

Great park away from the traffic and the crowds.... Try not to litter... Don't bike off the gravel trail as it erodes the soil too quickly .... The art installation at the bottom is nothing to write home about... Check water quality before swimming to be safe

Savan Upadhyay

Nice place to hiking

Balu Kamoy

Nice 10km trail in Scarborough

Nikita Ung

Beautiful place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Street parking is free and plentiful. The hike is downhill to the water. However it can be exhausting hiking back up to your car afterwards. Keep that in mind if you plan to bike/ bring stroller/bring young kids/elderly.

E L

We walked from the top of doris mcarthy trail all the way to the lake. Going down it was a breeze. The area we ended up in was a really rocky beach and my dogs did not enjoy that. I wore flip flops so that was a mission! The little beach we found was nice and quiet. There was no one around. Walking back up was another story. Make sure you are somewhat fit or you arent going to make it. I almost keeled over. My dogs were panting and had to take a detour and go into the river running along side the trail.

hisaw geng

Nice walk down to the lake....one of the few paths on the Bluffs that lets you get down to lake level for a great stroll. I suggest that you bring a knapsack for a water bottle and snack. Please carry out your waste afterwards. It was sad to see takeout containers and garbage left behind. (Otherwise it would be 5 stars!) Great for birdwatching too.

Stel Lar

Interesting and meaningful sculpture that greets you as you reach the water. Beautiful trail along the shore accompanied by crashing waves. You can also walk along the rocky shore as opposed to the inner trail. Some people also brought chairs to just sit and enjoy the view
