Great for kids. Focus is on bush planes but very interactive and the folks are super friendly. Definitely on par with Ottawa and Calgary.

Alexander Gurinovich

The museum was closed when we came to visit it today and that is despite Google showing it is opened and no notice of the museum’s closure on their own website. For the museum’s administration - it is totally disrespectful not to have any mentioning of the museum’s closure in the section - “plan you visit”. I don’t know in what time do you continue living but I got used to always check my travel itinerary with places of interest websites. I am very disappointed that the museum’s administration doesn’t know what the Internet and website is for.

Dustin West

James Muller

A great educational and family friendly venue that maintains several "hands-on" exhibits and theater experiences. The addition of the new Insectarium, "Entomica," adds even more educational value and fun. Well worth going out of one's way to attend and worth the price of admission.

Daniel Pacey

Great little museum packed with vintage aircraft that serviced the wilderness areas of Canada through most of the 20th century. Many of opportunities to touch and even climb into aircraft and imagine a simpler and more exciting time. There are plenty of interactive learning opportunities for little people that are best experienced with an involved and attentive adult. Spend a morning if you can, it's so worth it. The admission fee is a bargain.

Nick Green

Very interesting historical gem!

Courtney Beriault

It is a nice place, however beware of their employees. I know of atsleast one employee that is a heroin junkie, recently lost access to her kids through CAS, and Bushplane is aware of this and allows her around other people's children. Very concerning. We can never full enjoy our time there because this person is always lurking around the children activities.

Mahmud Hossain

Small place but very good collection. You must have to watch all the movies in the center

Jay Furick

Wonderful collection of historic planes which were used to fight fires, take supplies and people to remote area, and to develop new technologies. There is an excellent 3D movie showing how forest fires are fought and a movie about bush piloting. There is something here for every generation.

Lots of people have been having their weddings and events here, and it does the job, but, theres still planes strewed about everywhere, adding a weird theme to events.

Jay Turano

Good museum, lots of stuff. Decent store but the clerk who also dispensed entrance tickets was very unfriendly, which was a surprise for the Soo. I’d say customer service requires a little more training if you want to attract more visitors.

Matthew Colbeck

Stephanie Chipman

Sadly I have to give a one star, husband and I was denied entry today by their employee.

Lydia Roberts

This was one of the best put together air museums I've ever been to. We were visiting from the States, and everyone in town told us to be sure to visit this place. It did not disappoint. Plenty for adults and children of all ages and interests to see. Some of the planes are been set up to sit in. They had one expert on hand that my husband got to know quite well who had very superior knowledge on the use of these beautiful aircraft! If you are in the Sault for more than just a few hours, don't miss this gem!

NR Rider

Nice afternoon. Kids enjoyed the kids exploration area though a few exhibits were unavailable due to covid. The cockpit and flight simulator were fun for my 2 young kids. Overall the open space and ability to run around without jackets was nice overall. The Entomica was much smaller than expected but still kept the kids interest with opportunity to see some of the bugs up close. Might be a bit pricey for a larger family with older kids to visit frequently but with young kids a nice afternoon especially on a colderr day.

Big Bore

small place but has some nice planes.

Richard Dessin

This place was amazing. I don't know if it was because we went mid week but we mostly had the place to ourselves. I would say a good portion of the aircraft were hands on. The 4 D firefighting move is a must see and it's included in the admission price which was a bonus for us from the lower 48 when everything costs extra. I got to get my mad pilot skills on as they had one aircraft with the cockpit open. It was childhood dream come true to flip buttons till my heart content's. I'm not going to lie I added a few gun sounds just to keep it real.

David Blanchard

Worth every penny. Great history lesson

Terrence O'Hara

Lots to look at and learn about and for some planes you can even go inside. A great place to learn some flying history.

Jonathan Budau

A great 2hr experience. One of their mechanics was onhand to give us a guided tour of many of the planes and their history. The insect display was an added bonus. Only wish - that more cockpits would be accessible (CoVid protocols?). Water bomber movie was very well done.

Cucka Occurs

Everything you ever wanted to or needed to know about Bush planes and various other planes and flying things...minus UFOs ;)

Virginia Angle

Excellent staff, very cheerful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

Gary Blessing (Jr)

Absolutely a must for any aviation fan, pilot, etc Fun and unusual stories.

Lucas McFadden

We didn't go in (lockdown), but we were still greeted by what I assume we're volunteers outside. They were working on the docks. My son was very excited to see the float plane parked up by the hanger door. We watched a on final approach in Soo Michigan, 2 freighters pass each other, a pilot boat drop off the pilot. Purvis marine had lots happening on the dock. Ducks and geese and seagulls were a definite highlight. Being greeted by passing walkers and cyclists topped off our visit. Certainly a Soo gem.

Ray Raddatz

Reasonably priced and the ability to tour the interior of several planes was fantastic.

Saravana Aravind

Mo Cons

Very cool museum. Attended for the heritage weekend, they had a live band playing, the garage doors were open, had fun bouncing castles for kids, we were able to check inside the many kinds of bush planes, as well as kids. They had Paw Patrol Marshall there for the kids to meet and the Hulk. I noticed they also offer events to be reserved there, saw an outdoor wedding there, looked very nice.

Scott Hatten

We drive 6 hours from Muskegon, MI just to visit the Centre. If you are an aviation buff, then this is a place you have to see. Recommended that you plan 2-3 hours to go through everything and see the movies. Great job from the staff and volunteers.

Charles Kwiatkowski

This place is GREAT! Our docent is very knowledgeable. Could easily talk shop about flying with him for hours. Well worth the $12 Canadian admission.

We loved it. I'm a little plane crazy but didn't know much. I know more now and being able to actually touch or go into planes I had only read about was a dream come true.

Vikas Keshri

It was a new experience for the entire group (age range of 10 to seniors). It's very informative. The museum displays various models of planes, accessories, and technologies. There are few planes where you can actually get into the plane and get a feel of what it may feel like being in there. They also have a 3D movie about bush fires and how the ministry of natural resources work tirelessly to fight and contain forest fire. They also have on display the gears and equipment used to deal with forest fire. It also provides excellent and unique photo opportunities that visitors can cherish for life. They also have simulators and video games that gives you first hand simulations. There is also a section where you can buy souvenir or gift items. Another attraction is a insect collection. They have live insects and the staff can actually let you experience bugs like stick bug, snail, spiders and cockroach. It's a good educational and adventure opportunity for kids and adults to know about bugs, it's eating habits and other information. The staff is so nice, they can even make kids comfortable with the bugs. Overall I think this is not to be missed if you visit Sault ste marie. Please give yourself atleast 2 hours to get the full experience of the the place. Full credit to the management and staff of the museum and bug place.

A nice pleasant surprise! Well maintained place with lots of activities for kids. My kids absolutely loved it, we found this place fascinating too. Don’t miss the 3D movie. He showed us every single bugs and insects in every single container that they have, even took some out from the backroom. We love the stick bugs and the leaf bugs. It a great place to learn about local heritage.

Tim Denley

The Canadian bush plane heritage museum is the most popular tourist attraction in Sault Ste Marie. On top of that we have had people from all over the world stopping in. I have obviously a bit of bias because I am a member of the board of directors and have a family history regarding the Ontario provincial Air service which had its headquarters in Sault Ste Marie from 1928 until the 1980s. My father Grant Denley was one of the founders of the museum. I enjoyed meeting people and as a volunteer there I also enjoy giving people a tour of the museum and talking about the collection of aircraft and their role in the history of Northern Ontario. Therefore I encourage our local citizens who have been very supportive and if you wish you may become a member or a volunteer who may have interest in aviation .

Chuck Hull

A must see for all ages

YCM

Great place to bring children. They can climb into airplanes, climb up to a watch tower and radio people below. Lots of hands on activities. There are videos running featuring historical info about the aircrafts. This is often the venue for children's activities hosted by community partners. Sometimes there are themes like "super heros" and craft tables are set up in addition to children exploring. It's usually free but registration is requested.

Sophia Robinson

Great place for family and children ! Absolutely love it and the staff is great very welcoming and super nice!

Lots of history and lots of hands on stuff for kids

I had just seen the STOL (Short Takeoff And Land) competition at the Oshkosh airshow, so this was a natural, celebrating the bushpilots and 'planes that pioneered the art of flying deep into the bush and landing on a sandbar to send forth a hunting or fishing party on a multi-week adventure in the wild. I loved this museum -- it looks like a bunch of aircraft packed tightly into a hanger, but you find you can wend your way between them around a wonderful collection of artifacts, displays, engines and similar items placed between the aircraft on display. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Stephanne Johnson

This place is so neat! Not only do you get to learn all about different planes, you can actually go into quite a few of them and poke around. And there's a 3-D movie! Just go check it out. :)

A lot more to see than you imagine. And it's all so interesting.

Teri Bohdaniec

a very interesting and enjoyable visit. we learned a lot about the history of BUSHPLANE flying in our province...of particular interest was the reconstruction of the fox moth and realizing there was only one other in Canada in the Ottawa museum..it was a very long and painstaking labour of love carried out by many dedicated people..thankyou!

Mr. Gadgets

Great place to visit!! Lots of history to review!! I recommend it as a "must stop there" place!

John Wong

This is a great plane museum. It may not be as big as the one in Hamilton or Ottawa and focus on mainly on bush plane. But, this one has more you-can-touch-or-try type of exhibit, that is good for little ones that don't like to read. Also, you can get into more cockpit or inside of the planes than other plane museums in Canada. The forest fire fighting exhibit and short movie are good too.

Liz Mcdonald

The bush plane museum is fantastic for plane lovers.

Bride of Valentine

This is a good place for kids of any age, you can actually go inside lots of the planes which was a lot of fun, virtual flight booth and they even had a live lamprey exhibit that terrified every one of us. It was a bit pricey, $43 for me, my girlfriend and two of my kids but it was worth it. I thought I'd be bored but we were there for hours.

Patty Caputo

My father was a bush pilot. I love looking @ the planes...it brings back so many memories. Excellent gift shop also.

Great local museum here in the Sault! Excellent opportunity to take the family out and learn about the history of the Bushplane industry and view a large variety of planes in person. They also do private events and local vendor shopping opportunities are available, like the one being hosted today. Come by to learn about bush planes and finish your Christmas shopping with purchases from local artisans. Larger events will likely start up again after the pandemic.

Great place for anybody who likes aviation! Lots of planes were open to see the cockpits, and while this museum seems aimed largely at school groups, it's a great change from boats and ships if you are in the area! Lots of hands on items help to make this much better than many locations where you just look.

David Eels

Great for all ages. Went with our grandsons, they loved it. Several interactive displays that they spend a lot of time enjoying.

Troy Lawson

Spent a few hours here with my dad. Enjoyed the history and information about the planes. Definitely worth the $. The hanging red and white plane, a Taylorcraft is similar to the plane my grandfather flew during WWII. He was a Civil Air Patrol trainer in SSM, MI.
