We had so much fun playing one of the escape room games at Breakout! The game master was clearly passionate about her work, and very excited for us to try out her game. The lobby was a bit messy, though, with the decor a bit of a hodgepodge -- if they cleaned up the space and made it look more professional, I would give them five stars.

My group has played the Dead Professor and the Collector rooms at breakout. We've played about 25 escape rooms total across 8 cities. Dead Professor ranks near the middle of the rooms we've played while the collector ranked closer to the top. We had a good time in both rooms. The puzzles worked and were fairly varied. The sets were not particularly inspired but did not really detract from the experience. Overall a good place to try out an escape room if you haven't been to one before.

I can't speak highly enough of our experiences at Breakout. The rooms are all amazingly designed and the staff are all ridiculously friendly (one of the Game Masters even recognized us from the last time we were there a couple months ago. Our team "The Optical Club" has done 4 rooms there and we've never had a bad experience (and we've escaped every room....so far). Would recommend Breakout to anybody looking to have a good time!

Robin Taylor

Our family of 6 did the All Alone theme room this weekend and had an awesome experience! Our youngest is 7 and she was able to help with some of the clues also. Would definitely recommend for a family night! I would encourage Breakout to implement a family rate - we would definitely go again if the price was more reasonable for an hour of fun. (comparable to a movie, swimming, or bowling)

Kaitlyn Tress

Fun, clean, and so much to do! Board games and escape rooms for all skill levels, lively staff, and a great selection of drinks and eats!

Kat Mc

Great Business!! The staff were amazing!! The girl that helped us was excellent. You can tell she loves her job. She even told us about a time where she was like doing a jump scare and ended up hurting herself on the door. You know you love your job when. Can't wait to go try another one!

I’ll start with the impression from our group’s take on the Dead Professors Society and then on Breakout in general. DPS has some challenging puzzles - some that are simply challenging to complete but brilliant once you do, and some that aren’t straight forward when it comes to figuring out the answer. Our team certainly could have had a better run at it as we really dropped the ball on a few puzzles and locks (we completed 95% of the room before time ran out). I’d consider this between intermediate and difficult for challenge level. Overall it’s a good room, there’s just a couple puzzles that weren’t straight forward to getting you what you needed once you figured out how to solve it. We also enjoyed how the hostess did the introduction to the room - kind of a nice break from the DVD intros you usually get at other escape rooms. Breakout suffers from the “I need Google Maps to find this place” issue that Deadlock’s first location suffers from. Despite that there’s a nice small waiting room before heading into the escape room and the hostess was great. We’ll definitely have a go at a couple other rooms here!

I took my blended family here for a Christmas gift and we did the room called "The Collector Christmas Caper". It was challenging to start, but then we quickly picked up speed and worked through the room as a family. Everyone had a chance to participate and the family had a great time! We will likely go back once the kids (two are in university) are back! Thanks, Breakout Escape Rooms!

I visited with a group from work. This was the first escape room I've played since the pandemic began. It was a great experience - creative puzzles, and it was great to have a room that facilitated our group of 8. They had a great selection of board games for sale as well!

Jordan Comfort

Went there with my class and it was lots of fun. The staff is enthusiastic which really lets you get into the lore of the escape room. As of now their are 3 different rooms all with unique puzzles and storys. Would highly recomend if you are looking for a fun hour.

I took 5 eleven year olds, first timers, and Breakout Escape was so awesome! I enjoyed a coffee and they took care of the rest. Such a great place, everyone should go play games here.

Our daughter attended a birthday party last weekend and when it came time to plan her own 11th birthday party she chose to go back to Escape only 1 week later! Covid protocol followed SHA guidelines Customer service perfectly pleasant Clean environment Games and Escape Game Room were fun Highly recommended!

Mark Symons

Really fun group activity for friends and family alike. This is the second time I've been here and in my experience, it's my favourite escape room in the city. Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff. As a bonus, we actually escaped this time!

Nicole Duff

Loved the ease for first time and how friendly they were had a great time! Def would do again!

D McTavish

First time in an escape room and the experience I had at Breakout was a phenomenal one that I recommend anyone to try! It's a fantastic team building exercise, and I was challenged with my friends to put together our combined problem solving skills to solve the puzzles in the room; it's hard when everyone has their own way of solving things! Let's just finish this review off by saying: wow! I can't wait to experience the other rooms and see what else Breakout comes up with next!

We enjoyed Code Red very much! We arrived early and were greeted immediately by our host who was very knowledgeable and friendly. She briefed us on our mission and after a bit of a slow start we started figuring out the clues. There were only 3 of us so weren't sure how it would go. We definitely used some hints but solved it in time! Would highly recommend.

Andrew Magnus

Great escape room experience, have tried both code red and the expedition rooms. The rooms are fun and challenging but we managed to get out of both, the game master made the game more fun and memorable with her hints as comments as we went through. Solid experience over all, will go there again for another room!

Jesse Greenwood

Had a great time. Was in with a large group from our office (9 people) and Roberta was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Got a little hot in the lab with all if us there, but still a great time. Would definitely recommend this for a good time or team building exercise.

We did the "Trapped" room on valentines this year with a group of six. We did have a couple of issues which really put the mood off. The fishing rod was put in an area which was completely too dark to notice for the side I was on(three of us - all agreed). The second, which really delayed time was we were supposed to have a blue light(unknown correct name) which our room did not have and because we did not know this we ended up wasting time trying to figure out our next step. The lady brought it into our room, except the light was dead and would come on but not be remotely close to lighting up the area which we required it to do.Because of the failed attempt, we were given the answer. I can only review my side of the room, as I did not experience or do the other side. After completing the room, a few of the guests we had in the room felt trapped by an employee(came in and shut the door behind her) asking questions of our thoughts/feelings of the room. We have done multiple escape rooms, the having to wave at a camera/speak to it was a waste for time wise as we pay for the time and have an allotted amount of time. I would recommend having a bell to ring for help and then using the audio system for the help. As, it helps speed the process up and prevent wasted time. This would be a point for improvement. :) The group did enjoy the variety of snacks to enjoy. Which if you wanted to go and have a bite to eat and then do a room they offer this there. There is food items, not just popcorn(which you will want, because it smells so darn delicious when it is popping!!). Oh and alcohol, if your heart desires a bit of that. Perfect place for a date night, why? They have literally the biggest selection of games I have ever seen. There is a small fee to play, but seriously it is small! Which allows you to play a HUGE range of games for hours!! They are open late, unlike other places. The room designs were nice, you can tell there was time/thought put into them. They are designing another room which we heard about and do want to go and try! When hearing about their other rooms well standing in the lobby, for sure grabbed our attention to wanting to do them all!

Osidious DK

Average. Building had no heat. A few of us we shivering to keep warm. Added to escape room difficulty I guess? Plus very expensive compared to other escape rooms I have been to. We paid $180 + tax for our group of nine for one hour.

Lana Moldenhauer

Super fun experience! We did the room "Trapped" where you have two groups in separate rooms but you still have to work together to escape. Communication is key so it's a really great activity for team-building. Highly recommended!

Kyla Elechi

Our first experience was amazing! It was a very immersive experience, and the puzzles were not easy at all! My 12 year old and his friend were with me and they really enjoyed the experience of the Trapped Room! I would highly recommend this for a fun family outing!

Ryan Griffiths

The rooms are really well designed and the staff are very friendly. Great place to come with a group of friends and make memories. Highly recommend

Mickeala Griffith

Such a great time, it was fun, and a great way to spend an hour. We will definitely be going back again. Great for the family.

Christine Johnston

We took a group of grade 8 students for an evening of escape rooms and board games. The kids had a great time and everything was so well organized! Looking forward to going back as a family.

Cynthia Roy

Last Saturday my friends and I attended the Dead by Dawn escape room. walked away spooked and well entertained. If I can describe this room in three words they would be: dark, chilling and unpredictable. Thank you for the great time, can't wait to be back. I'm sorry Megan.

Nathen Priest

We went here with a group of five. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. You could tell that they really cared and were passionate about their job and business. After the breakout room we played a fairly complicated board game in their games room, had some snacks and a few drinks. The staff again took the time to explain the game and they guided us through a couple rounds until they were confident we understood the process and rules of the game. Everything was super fun and the service was top notch!

James Forester

Amazing, well put-together rooms! The game master we had was very helpful and stayed away enough to not break immersion, but also helped enough so that we didn't hit a wall and get discouraged. Sturdy props, nothing felt cheap, and we had a great sense of accomplishment after finishing The Expedition! Would recommend to everyone!

Taylor Froese

Had a fantastic time today in the professors room (I don't actually remember what it was called). The lady running it was beyond friendly and excited about her job and that's amazing to see. The room was fun and challenging, even if there was a bit of a mishap with the ending ;). Was able to finish the room with a bit of help but all around a good time. I would definitely recommend.

Steve Barss

Great time at Breakout. Staff was very helpful and really helped us get into the spirit of things. The puzzles were fun and challenging with interesting clues to help us figure them out. I can't wait to go back!!!

Gage Jacques

Did Arabian nights. First experience at this location. My girlfriend and I have done quite a few escape rooms but this room was just far too easy for a 6.5 rating. I’d like to see them change that to “for beginners 3/10. Also just not a very high energy introduction like we’re used to, rather boring room all around. Don’t like giving bad reviews but it’s an honest one.

Edit to previous review below: our return to Breakout and new experience was stellar! The room and game master were great. The Collector has many puzzles, some wireless ones that I've never seen. Our crew really enjoyed ourselves. This was a return visit from a poor previous experience and this was drastically different. While accommodating for larger groups, our experience here was lackluster at best. Our group, all late 20s early 30s experienced in escape rooms, expected the standard escape room etiquette to be followed especially by the room master. What we observed was different. The room's design and puzzles were adequate nothing drastically outside of the ordinary. Fun with a challenge as it should be. Our game master seemed less than enthusiastic at her job. She presented the information in a very bored tone. We did not indicate we wanted any tips yet we were getting tips far too frequently. Not only that but the information was always given in a very condescending manner. I'm not saying staff need to take an acting class, but tact was severely lacking.

Elizabeth Selinger

The Collector was great if you like puzzles, but ended too soon! Love the enthusiasm and friendliness of the Game Masters.

Super fun! Nice restroom the games are a bit hard but staff is super friendly loved it had a blast

Hannah Siermachesky

This was the perfect date night! The puzzles were just tricky enough, and very clever when you figured them out. The Game Master assigned to us was so great, and beared with us through my math skills.

Zach Strong

Continues to be one of our favorite Escape Rooms in the city. Having the board games to play before or after your room is a great touch. Recently completed the room Dead By Dawn, it had the familiar mechanics of their rooms, but with a jump scare feel to it.

K “kirrstn”

My honey keeps saying go to your trap house without me, because he scared. Lol

Lorie Zbaraschuk

The Collector puzzle was a lot of fun for my 13 year old students to solve. I really appreciated that the Game Master gave us a some extra clues and a few extra minutes-- realizing that the kids were going to be disappointed if they didn't finish the puzzle. We had a great, kid-friendly experience with a nice level of puzzle-solving challenge. Highly recommend it! A bit pricey, though, and wished that a school rate was offered that would make it a little more affordable.

Liza Stinton

By far the best quality rooms in the city. The room itself was so well done, I was almost afraid to look for clues. We did THE DEAD PROFESSOR SOCIETY room and needed a lot of help, but there were only two of us! The staff was also really friendly and helpful.

K

Took a group of 5 (15yr old) farm girls to the "big city" for a birthday party. They did the Dead Before Dawn and had the best time EVER! They're still talking about it days later! We definitely be back!! Staff was super friendly and helpful!!

Michel Malo

always a fun time. Stay to try one of their many board game afterwards.

Cheryl Johnstone

9 of us went on New Year's Eve and enjoyed the Escape Room we were in. It was the first time being at an Escape Room for 5 of us. It was difficult as it was rated 7/10 but we managed to finish. I would suggest turning up the volume on the speakers in the rooms in order to hear 'game master' clearly. We will definitely be back!

Jessie B

I have done many escape rooms in the city, this was my first time at this location and i would have to say Trapped was a good room. The staff was very friendly and ready to accommodate you! The only problem i have was when we were coming to the end on completing our room we were confused on where to start next - the lady who was watching our room noticed, and gave us a hint but unfortunately that really did not help as there was so black light flashlight in the said spot in our room to continue, she actually did end up bringing it to us which was fantastic but as soon as we got the flashlight it died.. so we were unable to complete that step without full instructions on what to do, which personally i and a couple others felt it did take out of the experience!

Lara T

We had so much fun last weekend that we went back and played a second game. We have been to several different escape rooms and this was one of the best! The owner is unbelievably kind and has done a fantastic job putting these rooms together. Will most definitely be going back to attempt the remaining rooms!!

Julia Macpherson

I did the Dead Professor room today with a team of four and we had a blast! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the setup was quite realistic. I felt like the difficulty of the puzzles was appropriate for the time limit, and each puzzle flowed logically into the next. I had a great time, and would highly recommend checking out BreakOut, especially if you enjoy problem-solving under a deadline!

Odessa Schlosser

We had an amazing time. My self and my two daughters did Sherlocked. Our gamemaster, Roberta, was amazing and helpful. Our time was 59:50 and we will be very happy to come back.

Kim Duong

I've been to other escape rooms, both in Saskatoon and in Asia. I went with a group of 5 other people and found the set up, puzzles and our host to be quite superior. Our host was friendly, helpful and enthused. We were made to feel very welcome and valued. The puzzles were interesting and thoughtful, but were not exceedingly difficult. We did the Dead Professor room and found the story/plot to be coherent and we'll thought out. I will definitely be returning to try the other two rooms that are available and highly recommend BreakOut.

Kristen Schmidt

I convinced my parents to join me for their first escape room experience. We chose Sherlocked and we all had an awesome time. We escaped with only 5 minutes to spare! Kaitlyn (our gamemaster) was super fun. If you haven't tried Breakout yet, you should absolutely check them out.

Monica Keet

We had so much fun with our kids in the Arabian Nights escape room! The staff members are so friendly and helpful! We will be back!

JennyD Fehr

A group of 4 of us did the Night Before Christmas room last week. It was so good. It is one of my favorite rooms so far (and we've done about 10+) out of any that we've done from any company or location. Very well thought out and put us all in the Christmas spirit!. Loved it!

Mike Crellin

Always a great time. The escape rooms are well thought out with great and challenging puzzles. The staff always goes the extra mile to make sure you enjoy you time. Had a group of 8 kids for a birthday party and they all had a blast. Highly recommend it.

Nathan Busaan

We did Expedition at Breakout Escape Rooms and thoroughly enjoyed it. The puzzles were challenging and gave us a good run for our money. Our gamemaster was very funny and helpful, adding to our enjoyment of the room (unfortunately don't remember her name). I would highly recommend Breakout Escape Rooms for anyone that's looking for a good time.

Katie Parker

Super Awesome Place!!! Awesome friendly staff, the rooms are an absolute blast to try and solve, very clean and following covid guidelines. My very first time attempting an escape room and glad I chose this place for it! I will be going back again for more rooms and recommend this activity for anyone looking to try something different.

Faye Hobman

We have been to Breakout several times in the past. We enjoyed our visits before, but tonight was absolutely fantastic. Our gamemaster Diana, was top notch! I've been to every escape company in saskatoon and several in Edmonton, and Diana was bar far the very best! We went to the expedition room and it was clever and very fun. I highly recommend Breakout! I can't wait to go to the new location on faithful! Keep up the great work!

Joel Liast

Great room, friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend.

Brayden Martens

We did the Arabian Nights room and it was fantastic. Very on theme and well put together! Highly recommend

Luke M

We did "The Expedition" - I have two opinions about this one. First, it's way too hard. I'm not actually sure it's possible to finish without hints,. Even after a couple of the hints were given to, we thought "there is no rhyme or reason for that clue and it makes no sense". Plus, when we completed our mission, the last door jammed, so we couldn't get out and didn't know we had completed the mission! The lady came in the room to tell us we were done. The final door was the second thing that jammed that game. She also told us that we accidentally got one of the locks without even finding or figuring out the clue, if that makes sense. So there seemed to be some faults in the game. That being said, it was suuuuper fun! I love the idea, and the room was really cool. We didn't know it would be that hard to solve so we did have a blast doing it. It did become frustrating at the end because we could not figure it out and had used like 6 hints. I'm not saying we should have complete the mission because if everyone got it, that's no fun either, but even after clues/hints were released, they still made no sense. Overall, It was just way too hard, especially for "intermediate". Again, super fun though, so I'll give it a 4-star.

Dolores Penner

Such fun!! Family home for Christmas - wanted to try something new...some were quite apprehensive. This was the first time for all but the organizer. Help was given with perfect timing...clues - not answers. Staff was wonderful. Thanks! We had a great time - it may become a traditional Christmas activity. P.S. - we got out!!!

gerald meachem

We have done several of the rooms here and always found them enjoyable. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Kurt Anderson

Super fun even when you don't win, yeah I'm not the smartest. Staff was super friendly, and had a good presentation. They remained calm even when we didn't (it's easy to get frustrated and scatter brained). Thanks Breakout! Would try some other rooms in the future
