Jewel of Ile d’Orleans and awesome spot to see the sunset, free of charge! We were going to the observation tower but ran out of time. As the sun was setting we pulled into the parking lot of St-Famille church and discovered this nice little park behind it. It was absolutely beautiful! Well maintained lawns and flower beds, sculpture in the middle of the garden and a pavilion overlooking the river. So peaceful and beautiful!

Was very happy to visit this place and see how the island was settled. I was able to see where my original ancestors that came to North America had land because they have assigned historical information to modern day addresses. They had extensive history on my family lines and was able to purchase printed out copies. It cost $5 a piece to come in and the copies were not too expensive. If you have family history in Quebec, this is a good place to start as many original settlers began life here.

It is also very well located next to the beautiful Maison des Aïeux which can also be visited. Finally, this park offers a breathtaking view of the mountains located on the other side of the St. Lawrence River. Personally, I find that it is the most beautiful point of view of the island of Orleans (with those of Ste-Pétronille). (Original) Petit parc très agréable le long du fleuve Saint-Laurent, à Sainte-Famille (île d'Orléans). Il est bien aménagé avec: - des bancs et tables ici et là pour se reposer /pique-niquer, - une œuvre d'art au milieu du parc qui est très symbolique, - un petit gazebo, - des panneaux explicatifs sur l'histoire de Sainte-Famille et les familles de cette municipalité. Il est également super bien situé à coté de la belle Maison des Aïeux qui peut par ailleurs être visité. Enfin, ce parc offre une vue imprenable sur les monts situés de l'autre coté du fleuve Saint-Laurent. Personnellement, je trouve que c'est le plus beau point de vue de l'île d'Orléans (avec celles de Ste-Pétronille).
