As you can read, it reaches an feddbacks average is basically the best one, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the assessment is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of Museum.
Beautiful location , for a beautiful tribute to a special elephant who deserved so much more in life. RIP Jumbo
Very nice destinations full with history and beauty
The kids enjoyed walking over the to the bridge park on the old rail line more than tye Jumbo exhibit.
Came here for a geocache but enjoyed the stay. Got pics with our puppy and Jumbo.
Nice little spot to get out the car and stretch your legs! The story of Jumbo and the photo opportunity with the kids makes it one of the sights of St. Thomas.
Very cool. Nice place to stop and look at the view. No amenities and the training caboose / gift shop is now a sporting goods store.
Come peer at the petrified pachyderm peformer! Positioned paralellel to public Talbot street. Perhaps you heard that periodically.. they paint him pink!
It's a HUGE elephant on a hilltop. I happen to know the story of Jumbo but for those who don't there is no guide or plaque that provides a hint. Check it on Google before you go to better understand the trajedy that occurred.
Lovely place that reminds me of my childhood
One Jumbo monument just a block away from the amazing elevated park.
If you're right there, stop and see it but don't go out of your way. Not a big deal.
Had to take my kids to see Jumbo. Must see in this railroad town
Grateful the day i drop off to see the huge statue and learn a bit history of jumbo....love to come back and explore more places in st.thomas
A really cool thing to see! A very well made memorial site in St. Thomas :)
A must place to visit in St.Thomas, a monument of Jumbo the Elephant who got killed by a locomotive in the city of Railway.
Poor elephant's story which dead in a locomotive accident.
Definitely a place everyone should check out!
Jumbo is worth the visit but the tourism office in the caboose had been gone for a while.
Jumbo the Elephant is one of Canada's great roadside attractions. This elephant statue has a history with the Railway city, and the Circus. Unfortunately is a memorial to the tragic death of the Jumbo. Every visit to St Thomas needs a visit to see Jumbo the elephant.
Learned about Jumbo as a kid, so nice to visit a well kept memorial.
A good way to spend sometime with the little ones for an hour or so. My kids thought it was pretty cool.
A nice memorial with an interesting story behind it. A cool place to stop for lunch.
Such a great listener. He can hear you a mile away.
A statue of Jumbo at the site of his death (he was hit by a train during a stop in St. Thomas). Impressive due to its size. Fun little roadside stop. But nothing else here.
The plaque is small but concise, as attractions for the city goes this one is near the top.
Good spot for little ones to take pictures
My sister & I were very emotional, knowing what happened to Jumbo & finally getting to see the monument in memory of him in St. Thomas. Bravo to everyone who helped contribute to keeping his memory alive, we thank you ❤
Kinda boring, but Jumbo is a thing in St Thomas!
Such an interesting story I’m glad we stopped here on our trip through to London.
One of my kids favourite spots still to this day. They still fight over who’s window is going to work. They love to stop by with the dog to check on Jon Lowe to make sure he still there and love to play around the caboose. There’s always parking and it’s never too busy. Just down the street from a decent dog with more parking. Also not too far for me Timmies which is always nice to enjoy a coffee while the kids have fun. This is also just down the street from the new walkway park.
Just a statue. I couldnt get a picture becauas people were climbing all over it ????
Nice pit stop to check out a huge monument of an elephant. Parking lot could use some TLC but a nice little stop area for anyone to take a picture of Jumbo.
Big elephant, exciting when it's primed pink!
A true Canadian Roadside Attraction
Awesome lookin and very interesting story to learn about.
Didn't move. Think he was sleeping. 6/10
Nice and memorable sculpture. Has history in it. I love the place and view.
Makes for a good 5-minute stop. Not much here, but kids love it.
Nice place to take a break, enjoy a picnic lunch, watch traffic and enjoy the view.
Was cool to see the old jumbo statue. A cool piece of history. Easy to find just off the main street.
Pretty nice memorial for Jumbo. Nice quiet area.
Luv it nice place to take pictures
I saw this monstrous display from the highway about 100 feet below the ridgeline where there was ample parking to walkabout and read about Jumbo. What a cool tribute.
What a great spot to bring the kids and learn some local history.
Always fun to see Jumboand now let my kids look around.
It's a big elephant. What's not to like?
Fun.
Great place to visit, we took kids and they had a blast looking at how massive Jumbo was. The statue has a pretty garden that you can take nice photos
Neat to see.
It was interesting to see this memorial. If you know the story behind why the elephant was memorialized, then it's definitely worth a visit.
Great story and fun to show the kids.
Its an elephant statue. Thats about it.
Beautiful
A place I visited 10 years ago and then again because there's a great story and history.
It was nice to see a memorial for an elephant, that is part of our heritage. Story is sad but it's a part of Ontario and knowledge is key to be able to grow.
Great place to sit and eat lunch.
Haven't been here since i was a boy, brought my youngest boy herr this weekend
Really neat monument for people to check out when in town
My daughter loves this place and is always begging to go here.
We don't have the Elephant symbol but St. Thomas, already have
At the time of year that I visited it, it wasnt the best time to go but the statue is well done and it's very clean around it. Enjoyed visiting it!
The best giant metal elephant I've ever seen!
Nice place to take the kids for a small snack, photos, and being part of history
Such a nice way to remember a giant animal who came to its death by train in the railroad city Beautiful view at top a hill entering St Thomas and to see the elephant just makes it that more spectacular They restored the elephant a few years ago and did an amazing realistic job
Not much here but a great story and the elephant is something that you need to see
The Jumbo memorial is fantastic and very large. The historical plaque tells Jumbo's story very well. The only thing that I didn't like or thought was weird was the train caboose gift shop that I thought would sell Jumbo touristy stuff and maybe have some tourism St.Thomas pamphlets was actually a shoe store that had nothing to do with Jumbo or tourism.
Make a quick stop at this overlooking view and get to know Jumbo.
Excellent scaled to life replica of the real Jumbo the elephant. A few picnic tables to sit down and relax.
great place to take the kids and the parents for a piece of history and awesomeness.
Very Interesting.
Adorable place for a photo op. Maybe don't plan your whole day around it though
It was difficult to find. Brought my granddaughters to share the history. Wish there was a pamphlet close by to so tourists.
A wonderful memorial to such a sad event.
Gosh, I love the story and history behind Jumbo. This is amazing and I love coming here every year. It's amazing to see and read all about it.
Jumbo the Elephant Memorial is a little park with a plaque and a gigantic statue of the legendary animal. It's certainly worth a detour if you happen to be in or near Saint Thomas.
I have fond memories of this statue being erected in 1985... pregnant with my youngest daughter while standing alongside my two year old daughter as the giant beast blocked out the sun as it stood almost as tall as the buildings around the monument...I remember my daughter was so in awe of something so huge...I remember telling her that he was that exact same size when he was alive! Biggest elephant alive at the time!
It was a great place we really enjoyed and loved it
This monument is a unique memorial. Combines nicely with the nearby elevated park and neighbourhood to make a well rounded visit.
This life-size elephant is amazing, but sadly, his story is sad. Jumbo was a member of a circus team that visited and escaped many years ago and passed here. This extraordinary statue remembers the magnificent animal.
My Grandma's favourite spot to visit
This is a place I've been stopping since I was a kid. Its peaceful and I love it
Unfortunately, one of St. Thomas' claims to fame is the killing of a historically famous circus elephant. This monument to the giant creature now stands as a watchful sentinel peering down over the city of St. Thomas. There is a historical plaque which details Jumbo's untimely demise in 1885, and a decommissioned historical caboose on-site with a selection of brochures and informational pamphlets. A neat place to stop by if you're passing through St. Thomas for the first time.
Beautiful memorial for Jumbo the elephant.
Being a St. Thomas native, I have been fascinated by the story of Jumbo the elephant since I was a child. Thanks to a friend, I even scooped ice cream at the London Air Show for free to raise money for his statue! There may only be just a small tourist caboose at the location, but you can learn about Jumbo there, and find other places to visit in St. Thomas. Whenever I have out-of-town/country visitors, I make sure to take them for a photo with Jumbo.
I love the history re the incident
It was a fun safe outing.
Great St.thomas history and nice view
Have been visiting the elephant since I was a kid, and now I love taking my daughter there its just a really neat part of history.
Great pit-stop, amazing view. Worth the trip out of London!
Wonderful tribute to a tragic story
I have seen this a few times now and everytime it's amazing to think of how large this elephant was. The history of it is sad though how he had died. There is also a large plaque so you can teach your children the history of it all
Literally a statue of a circus elephant that died when it got hit by a train. No false advertising in its name. Fairly anatomically correct. Comes with a bonus (though slightly morbid considering) train car museum. 11/10 - the bonus train gives it a bonus point.
Nice view and historical meaning
This elephant of historical significance deserves no less than five blasts from the trunk.
Surprised to see an elephant statue along the road so I had to stop and take a look. interesting history.
If your in St. Thomas you need to stop by this memorial. It is a little know event in time that occurred here and the memorial is done well.
I tool my 15 year old there all the time when she was little. Now we have a 2 year old and the routine continues! Love it.
The elephant ???? is sooo big. It's a good place for taking photos.
Interesting memorial with a life-sized (I'm assuming) statue of Jumbo.
A very large reminder of a tragic tale. We always enjoy visiting roadside attractions as you just might learn something.
Is scenic and of course fell in love with Jumbo !
Beautiful statue in memory of jumbo the elephant
By far the best elephant memorial in St. Thomas.
I heard they ate him, That would make it Jumbo Gumbo!!!!!!
Tavy sees Jumbo
I used to come here when u was little, I forgot how BIG he was!!
Nice tribute to a wonderful piece of Canadiana history. Also FUN FACT: the locals ate Jumbo after he died.
Little Gem In The City of St. Thomas While my family and I visited the High Park next door, we stopped by to pay respects to the famous Jumbo The Elephant. It's a well kept little park with a giant statue of the elephant.
Wish he faced the highway. Worth visit...is across from museum.
There's no better way to enjoy your day with your spouse than taking pictures with jumbo.
Best statue of a giant elephant I've ever seen. Will definitely return.
Awesome story and amazing job on the upkeep!
Great for family photos
It's a concrete elephant.
We always like to stop and see Jumbo. The kids are amazed at his size.
Random road trip to see the elephant. Cute experience
Great historic site. Could beef the touristy aspect of it a bit. Maybe add a fenced playground for kids to admire it while swinging and having fun.
Very realistic looking monument!
It was a nice place to take photos but u can not get anything from there only shoes
Love history and this is a historic monument.
Nice place , was incredibly the sculpture. Jumbo’s history is sad but is part our heritage.
Great sight to see and well kept
There are picnic tables to eat, that's nice.
A great spot to stop for pictures with the huge elephant outside, very cool.
This is such a weird idea. An elephant briefly stops by and then dies in an accident, so build a statue. Probably the only elephant memorial of its kind, that's how weird it is. I admit, we missed Jumbo from the road when we drove into town. It was also quirky to find. Now we know it's there I'm a bit shocked we didn't notice it right away. I guess even when you know there's going to be an elephant statue you don't really expect it. The statue itself is a fantastic giant elephant. Impressively giant and elephantine. Top marks. It manages to be exactly at advertised and still be surprising.
Hes huge
Dignified memorial to a majestic animal who died in captivity.
Been here lots of times. Cute place.
It's a big elephant statue! If that's your thing hold on tight
Awesome! Worth seeing and to take pictures.
You will find the Memorial and a small shop beside it. But it's a huge statue for the elephant.
Awesome place to go to get pictures done. The bride and groom I have been driving around made it the last spot on their picture list. Very realistic looking as well. There is a small story behind it which I do not fully know
Great family adventure
Beautiful. It is a must to visit if you go to Elgin County
Great view of the area, beautiful lights bring the Jumbo monument to life
Needs more beautiful garden and more flowers to attract people taking picture. Im not really like it because its the elephant itself there. Not so attractive.
Love to see Jumbo the elephant, the kids have fun playing by this monument.
Beautiful sculpture. The story (thru google) touched me, that was why we quickly stopped by meeting 'Jumbo the Elephant'. With CN rail - city of railway.
The kids enjoyed taking pictures with the statue and the caboose
Looks a bit neglected but impressive nevertheless. Just a quiet memorial to a part of the history of St. Thomas.
Great little exhibit, my friends made me go.
We stopped by here on the way out. Its such a nice view and kept up well.
Always fun to visit. Great to get to bring my littles to a place I enjoyed as a kid.
Awesome place to relax great view
Interesting exhibit to see, especially when you are drunk after a wedding!
Great to take some pictures while in st.thomas
Wonderful statue.
dear elephant god, i pray to you here every day.
My friend told me, I had to visit JUMBO, it was actually very interesting.
Something out of the ordinary located in a beautiful area.
It's good to see that some things don't change, jumbo has been there since I was a child and he still stands high and mighty in the same spot. And it's a short walk to the Elevated Gardens which is a must-see!
A very nice "monument" with a story; kids love it! Would be nice if an icecream/refreshment bar was available. Jumbo could earn its keep!
It's a really big elephant statue. On a concrete platform. With parking. And an orange caboose next to it. Yay?
The only thing St.Thomas is known for. It is fitting that when you drive into town you have a great view of a large animals backside, because that's literally the best thing you are going to see in this town.
Its as big as you would expect it to be. Cool spots and trails and park neearby to walk to after parking here.
It is a memorial for an elephant...how can you not love this?!
Jumbo the elephant was so realistic, as if it was alive. Read the story and felt sad how it ended junbo's life. However it was a good sight
Underrated road side attraction! Beautifully sculpted and well maintained.
This is an awesome place to take pictures if you are drunk and visiting St thomas
A fun little history stop.
