Worth the effort to check the tide schedule. When the tide reverses, the falls change direction, and it's not just a little bit of water. That's an impressive flow of water. Go when the tide is either high or low, then go away for a bit and come back. It looks like a completely different place.

Visited on two separate days. The reversal in the water flow, which flows at a huge rate, is incredible. BTW, went to the overlook across the river from the huge visitor center. Recommend that as you are much closer to the falls on that side.

There are three times to view the falls; low tide (best), high tide (good), and mid tide (can be missed). Get a tide chart to plan accordingly. Low tide should be viewed by the pulp plant, high tide should be viewed around the bridge.

A very calming and serene place. I can watch this water flow for hours. Is always a spectacle to watch it flow in both directions. During the cruise ship season, you get the chance to meet many people from around the world. There is a zipline on the falls that is quite popular among the younger crowd.

READ IT BEFORE YOU VISIT. The name is bit misleading. It is not really Falls. It is the name given to few rapids forming on St John's river, which changes it's direction depending on time of day. A whirlpool also form(which I was unable to see) There is a tiny island which cannot be accessed. When you visit this place there is a lookout place from where you see the view of rapids and pulp and paper factory. It's an okayish place, but it's not a waterfall. Also restrooms are very clean. Plenty of parking space. Enjoy.

It is an amazing experience watching water flow reverse the direction. Make sure that you go at least an hour before the change of direction of water flow and stay at least ten minutes after the water flow diection change. That way you will appreciate the phenomenon.

Thanks Irwin Oil for running the place and the city! Otherwise beautiful sights of the tides coming and going and the facts about the reversing falls. They have washrooms as well but I didn't go there to check if they were clean. Weird access where lots of turism attractions could be there but, I guess it's another thing to thank Irving - who'd like to have their business by that ugly factory.

From this vantage point you can see the power of the water rushing by but you are much better of seeing it from the falls site on the other side. This side is not pretty and I wouldn't plan a picnic here. If you have 30 minutes to waist check it out, or not..

Came a few times to see the different tide points. It was very cool to see the rapids heading on way, then come back later to see them surging in the opposite direction. There's a giant factory right across the river which takes away from the scenic view, but it's not a huge deal.

We visited this area during the incoming tide. The rapids reminded me of the rapids on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. We were not able to stay to see the tide go back out but I think the rapids would reverse. That would be an impressive thing to see. The plant in the background really makes it impossible to take good pictures in this location.

Beautiful place! Visit in late afternoon, after 5 p.m. when the tide water rushes back. When it's high tide in the morning hours, the water is calm, and you can easily spot sealions.

The reversing falls is one of New Brunswick's premier attractions. Free to see from a number of vantage points it results from the effects of the high tides in the Bay of Fundy. Every high tide the river is forced up stream over rocks creating a series of turbulent rapids. High tide and low tide are the best times to see the effects but between these times there is a short period known as slack water when the river sits absolutely still before reversing or resuming flow.

Not very impressive. The build up led to a disappointing visit. I've seen better rapids in my home state along the Delaware River. Maybe this is what passes for something special here, but, I wasn't impressed at all. Maybe we needed to visit at a different time of day? I didn't see any great tidal movement so that's probably the reason it was so disappointing.

It was really great to see the falls going both ways. I would say it’s worthwhile to go back and see them change direction. It’s a weird road to get to the place and we thought we were going the wrong way for a second. Unfortunate the paper mill is right across too. There is a decent washroom there too fyi.

This is an iconic canadian tourist attraction, with a pulp mill on the opposite bank. It pretty unique when it's at full kick, and in reverse, but not so much at the point of reversal. What would be cool would be a restaurant at the park on the East Side bank where you could pass a few hours watching it cycle.
