REVIEWS OF Loyalist House IN Saint John

This promised to be an interesting stop, but sadly the museum was closed (even though both Google and the museum website confirmed it was open - including Wednesday afternoon when we came). There was a sign on the door advising about Covid restrictions (wear a mask, etc...), but again nothing indicating it was closed - except the locked door. I'm really disappointed that they didn't even bother to announce on their website that the museum was closed.

Small museums are the best because you get so much detail! We enjoyed the tour and learning a bit more of Canadian history

Bob Cobbett

So much history.

It could be better if they could get additional funding from the city, province, or federal government. That being said it is a capture of loyalist life within Saint John just after the American Revolution.

A pleasurable way to look into the way people lived and the craftsmanship of the furnishings of that era. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

We spent 3 wonderful months touring Canada starting in last May and had finished touring the local museum. Then the kind lady at the New Brunswick Museum called to see if they (Loyalist House) was open yet and was told they don't open for another week. But they opened it up for us. We were given a personal tour by the Association's President. Such lovely folks, even invited us to move up there! Hmm, sure has us thinking! It is a wonderful, well kept House with loads of interesting historic facts. Our guide was so knowledgeable, informative and thorough, answering all our many questions. We highly recommend you stop in and see for yourselves.

While the history of the place is neat, it's no different than any other old home. Price of admission is right.

Ron Osborne

Would have been a nice experience, but the hours of operation posted on Google is obviously incorrect, and there were no signs at the site indicating what they might actually be.

Jose Dias

An example of what life was back in 1830 albeit for the upper class. Real life was far harsher.

An amazing, beautifully preserved home. Grayden was so helpful, and answered all my questions with great details. I highly recommend a visit here - great for history buffs (it's like you are stepping back in time!!), but truly a must see for everyone. During COVID closures, call ahead for a tour!
