The magnificent, modern, and impressive Esplanade Riel Footbridge was inaugurated in 2004 and I regret not having had time to cross it because this structure is of a rare beauty.

Amazing view, great walk n jog place. I come here almost everyday as it’s a refreshing place. There’s a restaurant here and also couple of shops selling desserts. You can feel the contrast of the city from the different sides of the Bridge as the other side is full of lovely French Cafes and restaurants.

Just a strole from forks till St. Boniface cathedral is one of my favorite activities I love about this great place. Specially at night with all the lights up it becomes breathtaking. A walk of around 2 km in total is must for all.

The bridge is not outstanding, but it provides a nice view from both sides. I went there in winter and, trust me, it was freezing as hell. If you’re planning to visit the bridge im winter, remember to take your warmest clothes and, of course, don’t forget your camera!

It is a great pedestrian bridge, just keep an ear open for cyclists coming up behind you without warning, coming to close and going too fast. It is a shame that no one seems to be able to make a go of running a restaurant in the structure at the centre of the bridge. I never got around to try out the food from the last tennant, Mon Ami Louis. It had good reviews. Could've, would've, should've.

Hopefully the ice cream vendor is open on the East side or Mon Amis Louis serving their delicious eats smack dab in the middle but if not, still a wonderful spot to see the Red River in all its glory or marvel at the architectural beauty of the Museum of Human Rights just a stone's throw away.

After walking this bridge for the first time, since coming to Winnipeg for at least 10 years now, I definitely say it is a must. The cute little shops and soft live music adds to the beauty of looking out over the river, where you can see the tour boats cruise up and down. There is also a restaurant overlooking the river.

The Esplanade Riel Foot Bridge has become an iconic Winnipeg site, with photos of Saint Boniface at one end, and of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights at the other. Crêpes and ice cream are available at the Tâché Ave end. Too bad the beautiful restaurant ovefr the water sits empty

A must to see when visiting downtown Winnipeg. Connecting "The Forks" area Peace Park side over the Red River to the St Boniface side. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is just down from the walking bridge and absolutely worth a visit too. A good icon sight to photograph when in the area.

It's near the centre of winnipeg . Red river merges with assiniboine river . Fork is the centre of activity through out the year but more do during winters being a place for ice skating .
