I attended a private open house on the Edmonton Queen last weekend. The boat has been beautifully refurbished and we spent a lovely evening enjoying the river and the boat! A very worthwhile experience! Enjoyed it immensely!
Nice experience but there no much seat you need to come very early to catch place.
Picturesque Edmonton Riverboat, time well spent with the family, All stars. Photography is as much about the process of seeing as the print you produce. The love of photography is the love of life. Learn how the principles of photography can teach you about seeing your life in a different light.
It is unfortunate that the water level was too low for a sail. However, the security staff were great, drinks kept coming and NAIT had a terrific event for a pirate party. However, the food was limited to four items and it wasn't easy to locate. I understand that each event has different catering arranged so I wasn't that upset that the event chose to go with the basic package. Thanks for making it a terrific night.
Took the 8pm bbq cruise tonight with friends. The renovated boat is better than ever. Drinks are reasonable and the atmosphere is fantastic. What a great way to spend a night in Edmonton.
This wonderful restored boat takes you on a short ride up the river. It was a wonderful experience
Great family time with some beautiful views. The live entertainment was great, and informative. The cost is VERY reasonable as well. We look forward to doing this again.
We have just got back from a great evening's cruise along the river the service was great and we met some great people along the way , I would say that it is best to get there quite early though to avoid long queues and be able to park nearby .
We are very disappointed with the service. My mom bought tickets (which weren't cheap) to the riverboat that included dinner LAST YEAR. They were an hour early to the event, once it was their time to board, captain says event was cancelled. My mom was told she would get REFUNDED for those tickets. She had waited 2 weeks for an email or phone call of some sort regarding the refund but nothing. I had to call riverboat plenty of times, no answer. Left voicemails, no answer. I finally got in touch with the company that the Riverboat sells the tickets through and I FINALLY got vouchers for future use. Fast forward to this year, I try to use those vouchers and to no surprise, they don't work. Once again calling, leaving voicemails and EMAILING the Riverboat and. Not. One. Response. I emailed the company that sold the tickets, they, unfortunately, told me to contact the Riverboat. You would think that if you spent a good x amount of dollars for tickets that you would get the equal treatment of customer service but no. We still have yet to hear back from this company and it's already the end of the season. Super disappointed.
Went with my husband on a sunset cruise. Charcuterie board was very good, cruise very enjoyable. Lots of opportunities for great pictures.
They recently did an overhaul of this historic board. The ride takes you from one bridge, turns around and goes the other way. Its a unique way to experience Edmonton's River Valley and would be considered a tourist attraction even for locals.
We went on a cruise to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We had been planning to do this since we heard the riverboat was back in action! Boarding went smoothly. They have their own Big Rock brew on tap - Riverboat Honey. It is delicious! We paid for the prime rib buffet. $55 per person which does include your $20 ride ticket. So $35 is not a bad value for a prime rib buffet. My only complaint is that coffee was the only beverage included. Outside food and beverages are not allowed on board. Water is not provided, you need to purchase bottled water at the bar. The buffet included a choice of three different types of salad, roasted baby potatoes, honey roasted carrots, a rice dish, stuffed chicken breasts with roasted veggies and the prime rib with au jus and horseradish. Dessert was mini cupcakes. All of the food was good. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I was a bit worried about my vertigo going on this cruise. After joking with me about gravol patches, it was explained that because the boat has a large, flat bottom it was very stable and didn't pitch at all. It was AWESOME! The view is one that not many people have seen unless you canoe or kayak. It is breathtaking and perfect for a date night. I was sad when we docked and our evening came to an end. Thank you to the Captain and all of the crew. You helped make some special memories and we can't wait to cruise with you again!
Stunning cruise with a superb crew! The crew were so good to our kids and showed them around the paddles and even let them in the bridge for a good look around! Food was really nice and drinks were good too. We had a fairly chilly and wet day but it was still worth it! Really liked the boat and was impressed with the fit out of it. Would highly recommend!
Had a great time. The food was pretty good. We went on a rainy cold day so that definitely wasn’t ideal. A bit overpriced but a must do for any couple.
We went as a family 2+1(21month old).had very awesome experience.buffet was great;staff was awesome, helpful and friendly!worth to go!who ever complains about small kids are losers!there are two sets of time!want to be with adults, take 8pm cruise!
What a disappointment!!! My wife and I took her parents out and I was terribly embarrassed! EXPENSIVE, No service for the elderly, long waiting lines in a hot sun, all for a 30-40 minute boat ride! I do not recommend.
So I booked a dinner and Cruze for august and the day after I booked they called and said that there will no longer be a Cruze due to low water level ( witch they didn't bother to tell us before) then they told us it is non refundable and we can't change out date. So now we only get to have dinner but we don't even get the Cruze.. What a joke, spent a lot of money just to be ripped off! Save your money and go else where!
There may have been a negative post from us BUT it was not our company that posted it. The last time I was on the River Boat it was an excellent time.Thank you. Don Congdon
Beautiful views of city. It made me even more proud of the wonderful city I call home.
Went for the Thursday date night. Had the wine and charcuterie board. It was great.
Loved it, we had such a great time! The live band was very good. So fun and friendly service.
This was an awesome time, nice leisure way to Enjoy our beautiful city with a view from the River. Young and old this boat will cater to you..
What a great way to see the river .Love having to go on the Riverboat in summer.
One hour on the river it is really nice especially if you would to spend this time near water .
A worthwhile experience. The staff was very efficient with the boarding process, and they were helpful throughout. Definitely recommend and would go again
It was a murder mystery night. The food was really good. So whoever catered this event was 4 stars. The rest was pretty mediocre. Floor was sticky, started an hour late because performers were late, but organizers didn't tell anyone they were pushing it back one hour. So people needed to be off boat at 8 pm but we were still motoring down the river. The views on river were spectacular. Dining room was really cold. It was too loud for a dining room setting & the murder mystery made no sense even after it was explained. I won't go back.
Would have been a great experience if the music wasn't so loud. Why does a ferry need a DJ? Could hardly hear myself think.
Fantastic experience! Extremely welcoming staff, tasty food, but nothing beats seeing the sunset in Edmonton on the North Saskatchewan River
We had such a great time! I love our North Sask, and this was a beautiful way to enjoy the city. Price is right for date night and a bottle of wine. I will do this again, but the dinner sailing next time!
One of the most popular scenic location of Edmonton. The staff was really nice.Evening hours are more scenic , you can enjoy the River boat rides as low as 19$ . Parking is a pain for this location so please use public transport sunset view was stunning. A nice buffet included. This was a neat experience. I definitely recommend it.
Edmonton Riverboat...Edmonton Queen...not sure what it’s being called these days but we do love that it exists. We have taken the river tour and really enjoyed ourselves. If you live in Edmonton, or are just visiting, you should definitely climb aboard at least once.
Good times. Great food, great wine , friendly crew. You can't go wrong. Just do it!
Canada Day 2019 to remember! such a unique, exciting experience. Damian and the team know how about next level service and you can't ask for a better wow factor of an evening. Dont even think I had the chance to see the whole boat! Will definitely be back A+++
Unfortunately we didn't get to get under the high level bridge due to water level. However, we received a voucher to attend again
I expected to see nice night view but it was so so...
What a lovely evening! Good value for money. We pre-ordered the pulled pork & beef sandwiches and they were delicious. Staff were helpful & friendly.
My friend and attended your cruise Saturday afternoon. We very much enjoyed the cruise as this was our second time. The first time we were unable to cruise due to electrically issues. We were promptly refunded thus we really looking forward the cruise this time. The staff were great and views spectacular. Being 2 seniors with walkers I would like to give you feedback about accessibility for being dropped off by the landing. Both times we had to call at least twice so the driver could find us and driver had to be convinced to go down the hill upon arrival. My suggestion is that perhaps there could be signage for the cab drivers are allowed to drop by the landing.
We were extremely excited to learn that the riverboat was coming back. We bought tickets online (website was simple and easy to use) and looked forward to Sunday all week. We arrived at the riverboat just before boarding time. It was our first time here so we did not know where to proceed from the parking. But eventually we stumbled across the boat just a few minutes after boarding call. We received a friendly hello and were welcomed onboard. We spoke with the greeter and he indicated that this was only their second week of operations and that there are exciting plans for the future. He was forthcoming with the fact that at the moment there is just a basic BBQ and a bar drink menu. Food choices were salads, beef or salmon burgers. We had just paid for the boat ride as we had plans to stop by Sir Winston's for fish and chips after. The bartender, and I forget his name (my apologies) was super friendly and extremely helpful. On my second trip for a refreshing drink, I made a comment of how a sangria would hit the spot and he grinned and said, "gimme 10 minutes - let me see what I can do!" He managed to whip together an ad-hoc and surpringly good sangria with the fruits on hand. I have to say the service was superb! They even wiped the tables down when we had a gentle spitting of rain. Once the sun came out, they offered up patio umbrellas! Great job guys! As far as the ride, it was the perfect day - sunny, warm and a cool gentle breeze embraced us as we coasted down the north Saskatchewan River. The ride itself was smooth. The river itself was very busy with kayakers, other boats and paddleboards. We met and chatted with people and we passed the time chatting, sipping and enjoying the beautiful river valley from a whole new perspective. Overall we both were very impressed with the experience and we look forward to what the future brings to us with the river boat. We will definitely be back. Great experience, great staff - just need a good a menu :) Thanks!
Amazing experience. The charcuterie plate was a little bit disappointing, just 2 pieces of bread, no forks or even toothpicks. But it was delicious. The ambiance is really nice and the service is good
Went on a quick river tour. The boat is really cool, but a bit overbooked. A great way to see the river valley.
Very cool boat! View was awesome! Buffett was great! Fresh fruit hot meal! I would do this again!!
We had the privilege of having a charity fundraising event on the Queen Mary and the views were AH-MA-ZING!! They were very accomodating, the staff was super friendly & it was an experience we will remember forever. Jason, Scott and their crew took great care of us and my family is looking at getting tickets to come back before the riverboat season ends... such a uniquely Edmonton view of downtown that's a must if you love this city.
Wow what an experience. This was a birthday present from our kids and it was a very memorable ride. The crew is excellent the drinks were great and we met some great people as well. They even shared their chacuterie plate with us.
The boat has been redone, the staff are incredible and even though I live in the area I really enjoyed our quick cruise. Regardless of whether you are a tourist or a resident. It is well worth the money and time. So nice to see this attraction actually being an attraction. Why only 3 stars ? Parking can be a disaster. The day I went I could not park in the rafters landing parking lot as it seemed to have been taken over by construction crews and accidental beach goers so I had to park 3 long blocks away. If mobility is an issue and you think that walking that far would be difficult you may want to buy your tickets at the boat . That way, if there is no parking the day you want to go, you can always come back another day and are not obligated to park 3 blocks away because you already have a ticket. This really is a great attraction though. I'm going back in the fall when the leaves change color. Wouldn't miss it for the world. I will just by my tickets when I get there in case they still have parking problems.
Had an amazing night on the boat! The band Campfire hero's featuring Paul Woida was an absolute treat for the river cruise! We enjoyed fantastic views of the selfies and got selfies for days! Thanks so much to the amazing crew working hard getting everyone their drinks all night. 100 percent recommend you try out this Edmonton attraction this summer!
Things could be so much better with some work! Four of us went on the river boat last Friday for the $5 special on the 5pm run. We showed up about 40 minutes early and were expecting a huge lineup! We were shocked there were only 6 people there when we arrived. Not sure if it was because it was a long weekend or perhaps it wasn't advertised well. I even heard people saying they got on free. They said no one was at the entry to take their money so they just walked on! There should be someone at the gate until they close it and leave the dock or a lot of people will be getting on free. The barbecue was a big disappointment. Nothing wrong with how the food tasted but $22 was ridiculous because they ran out of food. There was no salad every time I went up to look. Other guests were complaining. They only gave you half a sausage!! Not acceptable. There should at least of been dessert and a drink included. It would of been a much better idea if they had to have hotdogs and burgers for $5. They would of made more money doing that because it was supper time and I'm sure a lot of people were hungry but not everyone wants to spend $22 on a barbecue. So offer some cheaper options like burgers and hotdogs. There definitely needs to be more bartenders. The lineup was crazy and the boat wasn't even half full. Also more debit machines than one! We had to wait 10 minutes to pay for our drinks because they couldn't find the ONE debit machine. Apparently the bar downstairs had it. Another idea would be to have a place designated for strollers etc. Either on the boat or parked along the gangway. Not everyone is coming in a car, some people are getting bus or live in walking distance so they have kids and stroller with them. Live music! What a great gig for musicians that would be! There needs to be live music on deck. Either a one man band or full band. Someone could also be going around selling cold beers on ice to passengers sitting at the tables and standing around. The boat ride itself was great! Friendly staff. Just things need to be worked on to make it better. I hope it's a great success!
Lovely experience every time
Honestly enjoyed it! My children had such a great day! The weather was +31, the food was good and the staff were pleasant.
Great staff and boat. The interior is nicely renovated.
It was a wonderful, new way to experience Edmonton's beautiful river valley.
For the price the food was mediocre and for a buffet you didn't get a lot good or choice and only coffee waa included. The ride was nice but if I was to go again I would only go for the ride and not get the buffet unless it was to be improved on.
The trip is beautiful but was really disappointed by some of the bartending staff - she literally ignored people and would start doing something else. It did seem she was either overwhelmed or irritated, but started the night off negatively. Went instead to the below deck bar where staff were very friendly. Also just overall disappointed in their use of plastic, disposable cups!!! Especially from an experience which relies on nature and beauty, to be creating such waste unnecessarily. Not to mention it doesn’t help the feel of the cruise when you can’t use real cups.
A group of 6 of us went on the riverboat Thursday Aug 15 and had a very nice time. It would have been a better time if the Charcuterie board we received had a decent amount of food on it. Friends of course went last night and sent a picture of their board...their board had twice the amount of food on there. I am sure we all paid the same amount!!
Very nice place and the staff very polite and friendly
Great experience! We had brunch and a tour on the boat, beautiful weather, loved it.
It was a great time. But I would plan to go only a day ahead, as we had rain most of trip and that is why I made the last statement. Meal was not great. Friendly staff.
I was here with a group of 4 people for a dinner service on July 13th. When we arrived we were informed that there had been some problem with the food and we were not going to be receiving the food that had been advertised. We were told that if we did not like the food we could let them know and they would provide us with a refund. I only ate a piece of bread so informed them that we would like a refund (I would never have purchased the ticket if I had known what was being offered was the meal). They told us they would be in contact the following Monday to arrange the refund. We have yet to hear back and its almost a month later.
Went for Canada Day buffet dinner and cruise. Not worth the $100 dollar per person price tag, here's why: - Exorbitant wait times in lines to get drinks and food - Extremely crowded - Tough to find tables and chairs - Drinks not included (spent another $35 for four drinks) - Not enough ice cream for everyone For the price, we expected more... some things that could have been done better like complimentary drinks on arrival, reserved seating, organized pamphlet of what was going on when (time table), etc. The good: - band downstairs were awesome - view of fireworks was one of a kind Would not go again and would not recommend at that price point. Hope the staff and management team get together and fix some of these kinks. Consider better value if going for high volume, rather than high volume at a price point that is absurd for the quality of service we got.
The reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the brunch. The boat ride and views are awesome and the experience overall was fantastic. However, we did a saturday morning brunch and the brunch itself was a serious downfall. The eggs benedict served as part of the buffet was the worst I have had. Untoasted english muffins, extremely overdone "poached" eggs (I think they were reheated), and very skimpy on the hollandaise sauce. Furthermore, there were no beverages except coffee included with the buffet. I think including water is a must and it would be nice to see some apple and/or orange juice available to those purchasing the buffet. The brunch was rather disappointing and I won't be recommending the brunch to anyone. It could be a great meal that doesn't detract from the experience if they make a few minor changes. If the brunch is amazing and people are talking about how good it is I have no doubt they would see increased numbers. I would even be willing to pay $5 more for the buffet to include some drinks. I think a minor detail was the decor, specifically the chairs, but I can't be too hard on this knowing this is the first year under new ownership and I am guessing this was a way to cut down on startup costs.
Good boat cruise experience. Drinks were a little pricy though and could have been a little stronger.
You can drive down a steep incline to drop off people with ambulatory issues. Not much seating prior to launching. Breakfast was ok. Barely any coffee as people drinking booze with coffee had first dibs. It was really cold that day so there were endless lineups for coffee, with no results. People were frustrated. Only 2 small coffee makers for many people. I don't plan on going again.
Not impressed and do not recommend. Bought tickets to the Mother’s Day sunset dinner cruise and was informed a few days before that they had cancelled the cruise and were given tickets to the tapas cruise instead which was half the price. The food was below average and have now been waiting a month for my refund after several communications to staff members. Don’t hold your breath for your money back...
Always a fun trip along the river. We had booked a Sunday brunch cruise a month in advance. But the river was extremely high and fast and filled with entire trees floating quickly along. Definitely not a day for the boat to be out. However, they let us aboard and provided the brunch and let us wander around for as long as we wished. It was great. Good food and fantastic serving staff. We truly enjoyed our time aboard. And they gave us certificates to rebook at no charge.
Absolutely love this place!! Went on a beautiful leisurely cruise down the river and it was amazing!!! I had so much fun and enjoyed the whole experience so much that I booked a dinner cruise! The food is absolutely amazing! An all-you can eat buffet! Everything melted in my mouth. I couldn't help but go back for seconds! What made the night even better was the amazing staff and how wonderful they were making sure I never went without anything! And to top off our amazing dinner, we got to enjoy a beautiful cruise down the river while watching the sun set. Couldn't have been more romantic! I truly hope everyone gets a chance to experience this amazing venue. Nothing like it in Edmonton! A must see for all! Trust me when I say you won't regret it!!
Extremely breath taking views from a perspective that not many people have seen before. Perfect for a summer night cruise and some amazing food and drinks to share with friends. I definitely will be looking forward to my next trip on the Edmonton river boat. (It's best to bring cash if you are lining up at the boat to get tickets)
Amazing experience ! Great improvements && would 100% go again - you’d be missing out HUGE if you didn’t go . If anything , I’d want to go regularly like any bar BUT ON A BOAT ! Way too cool to pass up !
Went on Sunday evening on the last cruise. Now I'm not sure if they're all like this but we sat on the boat for an hour doing nothing. When we finally took off I thought we'd go further than a few blocks looking at the few downtown buildings that Edmonton has. For an hour we went back and forth 3x. Will not go again. Maybe they can improve and make this more enjoyable. Live bands, themed nights, go a bit further down the river etc...
Brunch was just ok. The cruising was great.
Nice little piece of history. The boat was running half an hour late though. The buffet was very over priced and not very impressive. I don't recommend getting the buffet. Overall it was a neat experience. However now that I've done it I would never do it again.
Most aspects of the Edmonton Queen are mediocre at best; the food, the service, the comfort. What is exceptional is the view and the novelty of it. So it's right that you should pay a premium for these features. But, you're paying quiet the premium, and IMO, not even close to being worth it.
