The park's trails connect to Red Deer's extensive trail network, including wooded streams, the river and other recreational areas. This location emphasizes playground equipment for small children, picnic tables and fireplaces, a picnic shelter with fire pit and seasonally available toilets. Some areas are treed and others are open and suitable for active games like Frisbee chasing. It's close to a grocery store where you can get last minute picnic supplies.

Rotary Park is one of the nicest Family parks we have in Reddeer. There is an awesome playground as well some adult games such as horse shoes and tetherball. We spent the evening for Canada Day there bbq'd and just enjoyed each other's company. I recommend taking the family to the park. It's loads of fun!!

The park as far back as I can remember, it has many reasons for folks who love to walk and to explore would indeed enjoy this type of park. Its got playgrounds, walking trails, bike paths, and lovely valley views each time you get up upon the hill side in the park. The best part is a good place to come to have a nice picnic, barbecues or even having a nice birthday party bash if you want to enjoy the sunshine. And word of advice when coming here, just be polite and keep the place nice and neat to everyone ^^

Rotary park is a Red Deer classic. It's a large modernized playground that the kids seem to really love. Although, the classic wooden structure and massive slides that they used to have were hands down the best playground ever. It's a shame they tore it down. They should have kept it and put the modern addition above, the definitely have the space. I was a little disappointed at the amount of disgusting garbage down there tho. The staff of One to 1 fitness went down and helped clean up the park last week so I'm sure it's better now. Thanks for doing that guys ????

This place takes me back to my childhood. It was one of my favorite places to visit and play. I took both my children there to play at various times and will take my grandchildren there, too. Very quiet in the winter and very busy in the summer. Start of Waskasoo Trails that run through Red Deer.

This was a great park for a Playdate and picnic! The kids loved the playground and the picnic tables were great for having our lunches and snacks. The public washrooms we’re very convenient, albeit a little scary looking (dark). We will definitely be going again, this time with some firewood so that we can make s’mores!

Still love the fact you can "get back to nature" in the middle of a busy city! I've lived here since the early '70's and just love the fact that we see deer and moose and many other forms of wildlife on our streets!

Very popular park in red deer due to its central location and easy access. Has firepits for public use, they used to supply firewood but no longer do so. They have renovated this park a few times throughout the years to update it to safety code. The only sand is under the swings. Thankfully so, as due to its downtown-ish location there tends to be a fair amount of homeless traffic out and about. There have been an oddly high amount of drug parefenalia found around the playground/swing area. Always keep a look out where your children are playing and keep your shoes on. Underneath the playset is usually okay because it's the black rubber material, but we've seen broken glass etc there before. If you hike up to the top of the hill that's visible from the park, it connects to a few really cool walking/beginner hiking trails that have pretty cool views of the city.

Homeless have taken a lot of it over, the playground area and most of the common area is pretty safe during daylight but I wouldn't hang around after dark.

It was one of those scorching days so the absence of shade near the playground made the enjoyment of the spa e a little harder. It's easily accessible by walking from downtown and was a great location to just watch the hustle and bustle of the city.

Nice park as long as there's security. This place needs security 24 hours a day to keep the grounds free of needles and psychologically dysfunctional people. Used to be a family favourite.

Great park.. Old and rich in Red Deers heritage. Love the play ground, the trails the shelters and the old water pump.It has bathrooms and fire pits as well... Only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because it can get sketchy at times with shady individuals. BUT that is a Red Deer problem. Unfortunately.

Had a great day with the grandchildren. Rotary Park is great for everyone. The kids played in that tree that kids have climbed on for more years than I can remember. Then they played in the park, and then we went for a walk up that really steep hill. Great work out day for all!!????????????

Wonderful park to take your family or any loved ones. There are so many things to see. Great playground for the younger ones. Many fire pits to do your cooking or just to warm up. Kept very clean and tidy. Remember to bring fire wood.

It's was a hot sunny day and I was there with some little humans and some family and it was one of the little humans birthing day. We stuffed our faces with pizza and then after all the little humans went to play on the play ground area. I was able to get on one of them electric scooter doo-hickey thinga mA jobs and that was neat. I hadn't been to this park since it had that huge slide.. so what's that like 30 years ago.. that slide was fun AF!! Its a shame all the good playground equipment is considered to dangerous or whatever nowadays...

Have something closer to the park because kids can't walk a quarter of a mile while holding it, and keep the bums from using and leaving their needless in their.

Nice park and green space on the way into the downtown core. Lots of play areas if you have a young family. Park links to a few trails that run behind the local rink and skate park Overall a really nice area for a lunchtime stroll or for an evening BBQ with the family. * Having said that, the park is frequented by the numerous homeless / street people that populate Red Deer's downtown core. Would not advise visiting the park after dark. During the day be aware of your personal security and that of your belongings.

Although the park does not live up to the glory days of the wooden original it still provides a good variety of items to support a variety of activities. Shade can be hard to come by in the park area, bring sunscreen. The picnic area is somewhat isolated from the park proper which tends to force a party to choose between being centered on the picnic area or the park area. There is a good variety of trails both paved and unpaved which is continuous with the cities trail system. There is a nearby lookout which provides good views of some of the city below. Public washrooms are available but will be closed up later in the evening.

Beautiful park, lots of large open space, a large playground that is for all ages and several fire pits. There are also washrooms and a fire shelter. Lots of great memories of taking my son here. Would recommend showing up early if you want to grab a fire pit during the summer months, as it's often very busy
