Water was great, not warm, but great! Park was being used by 3 different large parties and there was still plenty of room for everyone to roam around. Fantastic facility ????

Perhaps I shouldn't be stating this publicly but two of the best beaches on the mainland coast lie 1,500 metres apart, about 18 kilometres south of Powell River. One is Palm Beach, easily accessible from the park and the other is Mahood's Beach, a little closer to town. Both are relatively safe, sandy spots, suitable for the entire family. Photos are from Palm Beach, summer of 2021.

Nothing interesting enough out there for me, plus the bathroom is out of order. It's too far to walk there for me, so I'm annoyed that I went with a group there and there was nothing to do for 3 hours.

Beautiful walk in the rain. Tide was out, horizon was one with the grey ocean. Seetwo different kinds off black and white ducks, a golden eagle, a great blue heron. Two sea lions bobbing out near a couple old buoys.

I love this beach for the expansive view and the pockets of sand to relax on. The playground makes the little ones happy. It's a nice beach to walk and explore from one end to another. There are quite a few residences but it still feels very much available to everyone. The estuary is a bird magnet. Enjoy and please take care of this beach.

Such a gorgeous spot on the beach. Not many "palms" around, but at low tide, the sand is squishy and fun to play in...must be lots of clams there.

This park has it all. Beach, playground, field, washrooms, shade. The playground has toddler friendly equipment which is sparse in Powell River so that's a bonus.

Beautiful beach, use to live there ,right on the water front. Experienced the awesome storms of2007 out there. Watched my deck roof get ripped off and blown to other side of house.

My favorite Beach in the area. The view from the beach is spectacular and you can walk from end to end and see very different topography with a rocky point to the right. It is not the sandiest beach around but once you get past the rocks at the beach it is sandy underneath the water, though very shallow so you have to walk quite a ways to get any depth. After going there today I realized it was a little different between high tide and low tide. At high tide there is a little incline but at low tide it is very flat. No big waves here. Very few people seem to come during the week. There is a bathroom closer to the parking lot. The beach is about a three-minute walk from the parking lot depending on how much stuff you are carrying I guess! There's also a large park for picnics with some picnic tables on the way to the beach and a small playground for the kids near the bathroom. There is a small market just up the street from the park that sells snacks and drinks if you forgot anything. A lovely spot ❤️

I love this beach. I take my daughter here when I’m near by. Brings back a lot of good memories. Bathrooms are open into October at least. Great view from the beach with lots of near stuff for children like driftwood and rocks ????

The sunshine folk festival at Lang Bay is something we come for every Labour Day weekend. Great park right on the beach great for Kids!. Oh and some Orcas just swam by along the beach.

It might just be the nostalgia talking but it was better back in "my day". There are significantly more people living nearby now, making it a busier beach. There's not all that much real estate to stand on, on account of all the washed up logs so you are liable to be right next to someone on any given day. It seems like a fair few trees have been removed to make room for the adjacent housing, which takes away from the ambiance of the park, and the new play equipment doesn't hold a candle to the old stuff built from logs. Also there used to be a big metal roundabout there, truly a loss. That said, if you've never been, you'll still have a good time and it's worth going to. Like all other things in life, it has simply undergone some change.

This is a nice beach, but those with access issues might have trouble getting down to the water front. Loose rocks during high tide and some sand during low tide. Lots for kids to keep busy. Small playground and some covered benches also there
