We were able to get a couple of last minute spots for the Copeland Island's day tour. John was super helpful and sorted out the forms and reservation. The tour was amazing, we were guided by Kristina and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was our first time sea kayaking but she took us through the process and we had a blast. We kayaked for about 15km and had lunch on one of the islands. I highly recommend footprintbc if you want to do kayaking around the area. We're hoping to join them one day for a longer trip around the desolation sound islands!

Great morning for a short and sweet expedition in Okeover inlet! Witnessing beautiful blue green ocean, sweet Seals, Otters, jellyfish, sea stars, oyster farms and historic, T'lammin First Nations Pictographs. Christina our guide was so pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. We felt as though we were such in good hands! Looking forward to getting back on the water soon and exploring more of this incredible area :)

Kristina was a great guide, really knew her natural world and super fun. Great day out on the water, highlight was a group of 20 or so seals basking on the rocks as we got close by. Thanks for a great day! ????????

John is a well experienced guide who is happy to be out with you - rain or shine. The kayak and equipment used is in excellent shape. I really recommend using John as a guide - for a short day paddle or an expedition into Desolation Sound. He will take good care of you.

John was our guide for a day tour of the Copeland Islands by kayak. It was such a perfect day! John was really knowledgeable about the biology, geography and history of the area. We saw so many sea lions, it was an amazing experience. We also lucked out with the weather and the conditions for the beginning of fall. The water was so calm and we were the only guests on the tour. We also saw porpoises, seals and salmon jumping. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

In late July/20, I took a 3 hour "Hulks" tour with John Hermsen in his lovely double kayak. It was so interesting to see the concrete barriers from the ocean side and see the Powell River Mill and dam from a totally different perspective. Upon my return to my Wildwood home, I pulled out my copy of John A Campbell's book about the "Hulks; the Breakwater Ships of Powell River" as this trip revitalized my interest in my area's history and landmarks. John provided an informative, safe and glorious 1/2 day adventure. His knowledge, professionalism and clear passion for nature and the area was infectious. The "Townsite Brewing Craft Beer" Surprise Basket was a bonus; love the naming of some of the brews after the Hulks ("Quark" and "Thaddeus"). I would highly recommend "Footprint" for Hiking and Kayaking adventure trips. I look forward to engaging in a trip, possibly next year, to improve my basic kayaking skills. Many thanks again, John, for working so hard to accommodate my request! Best of luck for the rest of this year....and beyond!

John was great and we fully recommend Footprint. We booked a family kayek tour but due to strong winds we were unable to go. However John was able to take us on a hike and we were able to run into several deer and a bear. Dont hesitate to book with Footprint!
