Love this beach!! Beautiful sand and water...water shoes are nice to have.Water fairly warm. Lots of sun until late.We stay past 8:30pm. Outhouse style facilities open always as well as full service washrooms until 5pm. Water station to wash up as well!

No where could I park with my elderly mother and look at the beach. I know the dunes are important... but no chance for people to swim down memory lane. It all feels very exclusive to what it used to be 50 years ago. No access to Roy's Island.

Great spacious beach, warm water, life guards present during normal hours. 10am to 5 or 6pm I think. Picnic tables, place to change and place to wash up after visiting the beach. Only downside is some of the small rock areas on the beach.

Beautiful Beach. I've gone twice in the shoulder season and have had various successes with washroom/shower facilities. In Early September the outhouse w/ sinks was open but the shower/flush toilets was not. In October, both were closed. If you continue driving to the furthest parking lot and where there is a neighbouring trail head you should find a single outhouse.

Been going to this beach since I was a kid. It's a great place to be with family and friends and has a wide expanse of beach to enjoy. there is paved parking for free and also foot showers, outdoor bathrooms and service huts. There are boardwalks to the beach with a bay on one side and the open ocean on the other. Many fond memories here. Come and enjoy, just respect nature.

Always a good time at Melmerby (aka The MERB). Beauty of a beach. Sometime there's even deer on it. Lots of tiny rocks and sea glass can usually be found too. There's jellyfish but they don't burn when they sting ...a lot of people don't react to them, but if they do, it's just an itch. It's that way all across NS though.

Ome of the most beautiful beaches in Nova Scotia, even Atlantic Canada. This beach is provincially funded and has public washrooms, change rooms and showers, along with a lifeguarded area. You can often watch people walking or running the beach which stretches over 2km. Usually has smaller waves as there is not much open ocean between Melmerby and Prince Edward Island, which tends to buffer waves unless there are high winds in the Northumberland Strait.

The merb is a nice local beach. I don't swim salt water, but it's a great place to relax, walk, and there's even a small trail. Plenty of accessable parking. Although I would seriously think twice about trying to get a chair onto the beach sand as you might get bogged down. So for that there is the boardwalk.

No vending machines? Really, this is terrible. Families coming to the province and go there don't know they can't get a drink of water, that is terrible. The Province takes care of the Lifeguards, Change and Bathrooms but no vending machines. Come on it's 2018.

Nice sandy beach with facilities such as changing rooms and shower. Warm and clean of seaweed water at the early week of August. Eau to reach, lots of parking space. With a nice beach volleyball field, net and ball, you can enjoy a full day. First few meters of shore its full of stone but after that you will reach a soft sandy area.

I loved this beach!! Soft sand, warm, clear water!! Great for couples and families. Life guards on duty, very gentle waves. On a busy day, I think there might have been 60 people on the beach. A must see :-) Bring food/drinks because there isn't any vendors or concession stands there.

A bit cold today, but real nice considering its -4 and no weather in the air at the moment and no snow on the ground. The ice caps have melted back and it'll all likely be gone in a couple weeks. The Merb is a really nice beach and all through the spring and into the fall it is full of people there for dozens of reasons. A great beach to visit if you're in the area.

Beautiful NS beach, warm water of the Northumberland straight. Lifeguarded area near main change room, slightly rocky in that area though. My best tip is to go to the last section of beach, end of the parking lot. Sand is finer.

The merb is a lovely beach, my only complaint being that it has become so rocky over the past few years. I think they used to groom it to be less so, but perhaps stopped for environmental reasons. As long as you have your sandles on, not really an issue!

Rocky beach makes it extremely painful to cross. Combine that with a hot day and it's what I imagine walking on hot coals might feel like. I hear it's better if you drive down to the last parking lot.

The beach is nice. It's not rocky. Soft sand to relax, tan and play. You can see the tide come in and out if you go at those times. Multiple parking lots. There's actual bathrooms with toilets that flush. The park is pet friendly.. as long as your pup is on a leash. Great place for kids! I think it's supervised in July and August. Large beach to properly spread out esp during pandemic season.

Beautiful beach just remember to be cautious as our vehicle window was smashed and some valuables were taken. This was one among many that season. The staff were extremely helpful- I would recommend a sign be posted to let tourists know this has been a problem.

Beautiful beach. Nice water, not too cold for me but hubby thought it was chilly....he is use to pools. Changing rooms and bathrooms clean. Tons of parking, easy access. Not crowded at all, there is plenty of room to spread out. Volleyball net on site. Lifeguards. We were there from 11:00 til 3:00, seems to be busier later in the day. Lots of traffic arrived in as we were leaving. Only negative is there was alot of small garbage left laying around the beach, which is really unfortunate. Overall a good place to enjoy a day at the beach.

Very nice beach. Was there on a very warm day 30 degrees. Water was very cold , seen a huge amount of Jellyfish and pregnant crabs. One of the nicest beaches in Nova Scotia.

This is a hidden gem that many don't know about. If you haven't been to this beach in the summer, you must go. It is amazingly picturesque and awe inspiring. Warm water. One of the best beaches in Nova Scotia.

Nice beach. If it is windy, strong currents can and will form. If you are not a strong swimmer, best to stay out of the water on windy days or wear a life jacket and stay within the lifeguard area.

Sandy beach with warm water. Spent the afternoon snorkeling and following hermit crabs around. Changerooms and outhouses, but no food options. Many different entry points and lots of parking so it's not too congested on the beach.

This beach usually has warmer waters temperatures for ocean swims. There are jellyfish but there aren't as many during low tide. There is yoga on the beach on Sunday mornings. It's possible to swim open water along the beach by the buoys set out. Plenty of parking and there are changerooms and toilets that are only open within the set hours of the park. There are 2 showers and a foot wash outside the main building.

I'm here in off season! Loads of parking. Washroom facilities still open. Rewarding items washing up on beach. Cold, windy and drizzling. Beach is clean and maintained. Tide out. Good place for children to play. Throw sticks for your dogs..
