This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Cider bar.
Their front yard has the best views in the county. Food is great albeit smaller portions. Ciders in bottles are available from the bottle shop on site.
My visit to County Cider Company was bittersweet indeed, and not just because of the cider. I have been wanting to go to CCC, since back when they were 'Waupoos Cider House.' When I arrived, I was told that no tables were available and I could sit in the sun if I wanted to. I accepted this. I was then given instructions for where to order, etc. I asked the lady if they have flights available. She said they don't and I'd have to order a pint. I ordered the pint then was told afterwards that if I wanted to try more, there was a tasting available - with the next one being in 10 minutes. I asked for a refund as I travelled here to try their cider lineup, not just to drink a single cider. I was told by the staff member that I'd be able to get a refund but I should check first to see if there are any spots available for the tasting. I went over, paid for the tasting and went back to get my refund. I was told by the manager that she could not refund me, and explained it was because of Covid. I was disappointed by the lack of integrity, but I headed over to the tasting tent. A few minutes later the manager came out and gave me a cash refund for my tasting. I appreciated this gesture. I immensely enjoyed the tasting. The product at CCC is top notch, and the lady doing the tasting was incredible. After the tasting, my partner and I took a walk through the beautiful grounds of the winery. As we were walking, I realized that the manager had given me more money than I had paid for the tasting. So, I went back to the patio area, and put the extra money in the tip jar. Shortly after I was accosted by the manager who seemed very grumpy. She asked if we had checked in with the hostess. I replied that we are just leaving a tip as a thank you for the amazing tasting and experience. She gruffly dissmissed me and walked away. I told her to have a great day and exited the patio. I would have given CCC, 5 stars if it wasn't for the attitude of the manager. The grounds are beautiful, and the cider is top notch. Thank you CCC for a great experience!
Had an my first cider tasting here and it didn’t disappoint! The tasting took place outside in groups of 4 (max). My girlfriend and I both loved the pear! While we waited for our tasting time, we had the chance to eat some wood fired pizza (which was bomb!!!) In a makeshift patio right in the vineyard! We loved it.
Drove all the way from Toronto to eat the pizza..how ever they were closed... I called them 5 times before heading there, no one picked up the phone, and the website was showing open for business. Wasted 5 hours of driving back and forth!! Wasted gas and my precious time. As a previous business owner.. this is unacceptable.. if you are going to close please notify via phone, or website.
Great View! Excellent food and the cider is Excellent! Highly recommend!
What a view! Fantastic views, great cider. The lamb burger is to die for if you are a lamb fan. The chicken wrap is stuffed full of chicken. Prices are high, but worth it to savour the food. A must visit.
Very nice place with a great view of the water and seats looking directly at the orchard. We were recommended a delicious cheese board and ended up choosing the blood orange and black berry peach ciders which were both great ciders. Only downsides were the cheese board came with a tiny baguette that only allowed us to go through half our cheese and an addition loaf costed $2 extra. In addition tastings don't seem to reduce the price of buying bottles.
Thank you Jennifer, Abby, and Charolette for a great venue for our engagement photos! Beautiful place and amazing cider!
Lovely view, great pizza that you can watch them make. Amazing cider in a variety of flavors. We just ordered a gift basket and it is amazing. Check out their online store. We put a Books&Co gift card with it and called it " A summer afternoon in the County"
We visited the County Cider Company last year after having had some cider with a lunch. It is such good cider!
5+ stars. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. Amazing people. Sunny hot day. A beautiful patio with both grapes and apple trees side by side overlooking the lake. Can't get better than that. But it can apparently. Their food was …
a must visit when in the County. Always look forward to the new cider flavours, old favourites and amazing food
This cute craft cider shop and restaurant is a stop on every PEC trip my husband and I take. I loveeee ciders and their blood orange cider is my favourite. We've tried to eat here multiple times but the restaurant was full every time, but we've always managed to squeeze a tasting in and get a box (or two) of ciders to go from their bottle shop.
Offers cider tasting. Beautiful grounds can walk on grass through the rows of vines. View out over the lake.
Very friendly staff. We did a tasting for $10 each person and it was very good! The staff educated us on the background of the ciders we tried. Food was very good and the patio had a nice view overlooking the water. Garlic aioli was amazing with the pizza.
Such great wood fire pizza! 10/10 for their cider tastings ! Such a quaint place with amazing views
One of the most beautiful places to visit in Prince Edward County. Super friendly and welcoming staff, pet friendly spot, with great food and the views are stunning, almost makes you feel like you are somewhere in Tuscany. I absolutely loved this spot, my absolute fave!
Have loved this place since I was a kid, amazing views over the county, great cider and great people. Great place for photos as well!
Scheduled a tasting here and was not disappointed. They have a variety of ciders and we got to taste 6 with a very enthusiastic guide for 30 minutes. It was really inspiring to hear the little details on the cider creation from someone who …
Wonderful views of the lake with refreshing breeze. Cider was nice and was the food. Food prices were on the high side, quality was excellent.
A bit out of the way from the rest of the PEC scene but they make up for it with delightful atmosphere a restaurant and excellent cider. The peach, pear and apple are the best.
Beautiful spot with some good cider and friendly staff. They are also dog friendly if you are looking for somewhere to eat while you have your pup in tow. They will even bring a bowl of water out for your dog while you eat :-)
Love it here! The cider is great, the pizza is delicious, and the view is amazing.
Great experience, stellar staff and the descriptions were pretty bang on. Recommend if in the area! Very cheap for a taste test as well.
Visited this place and was not disappointed! I came with a friend on a mission to get the Blackberry Peach Cider. We ordered it during our lunch in Picton. The place was well kept and clean. Staff were nice and helpful. The products they …
This place exceeded all expectations. For $10 we got to try five or six of their most popular ciders. My favourite one was the Blackberry Peach (pictured) which is amazing in a mimosa! Beautifully nestled in a vineyard overlooking the lake, 10/10 recommend.
Great place for couples and families alike. Cozy location, I wish there was a wider range of wine to taste, could be just the time that I went.
Absolutely delicious cider and great service for the tasting. A beautiful place to hang out with a great view :)
One of the nicest stops in the County. Their Cider is fantastic. The prices have crept up recently, but still a place you must visit.
Lunch was excellent, wood-fired pizza with a bechamel sauce rather than tomato and a charcuterie board. County Cider on draft is great. Dog-friendly patio
Awesome ciders, the tasting experience was lovely, I liked the restaurant beside of it, too.
Very nice place to taste their cider and have a snack while you are there. The cider is excellent but a bit pricey at 12$/glass but the lovely surroundings and they even had live music playing when we were there made up for it. Definitely worth a stop but drinks and food are a bit pricey.
We were a group of 9 and a dog; the service was excellent and the food was to die for. We will be back
I stopped by for the first business day of the season. If you drive along a country road about 15 minutes from Picton, overlooking Lake Ontario on your right, you will see a nice building on a hill. The quilt barn is the landmark of the cidery. I am sure you will have a wonderful time. Why don't you go on a road trip about 3 hours from Toronto?
Really great cider. New product every year. Restaurant is really great to eat pizza outside and some drinks using their famous products.
I love this place! They have the best view and great food. Small hand picked menu but all the items I’ve tried are outstanding. Burger, the artichoke dip and the pear pizza are my favourites to pair with a tasty peach cider.
Beautiful location with the restaurant overlooking the lake. We came in early October, a really windy and cold day. We ordered hot ciders and it was the perfect choice and delicious! Felt like a hot apple pie :)) Make sure to call in advance to schedule your tasting. We didn't know about that, but one of the staff members was very friendly and helped us find the best ciders according to our taste to take home. Can't wait to go back next summer!
Love this place, it is a must-try! I am here several times a season - great cider (try the feral), amazing pizza and you just can’t beat the view and atmosphere. A gem in PEC!
Nice place to visit - good for photo ops. The artisan goods are a bit expensive, but high quality.
Food and drinks were great as usual. Neil, your manager/parking lot n@zi is arrogant and rude. Could be heard several times barking at staff in an unprofessional manner. Not welcoming in the parking lot in the least.
This patio is stunning. One of the best views in the county with rolling vineyards overlooking the water. Their ciders were SUPER TASTY. some of the best ciders I have tried. Their blackberry one was to die for! They also had some pizzas and snacks available for people to eat. The only downside and reason why it’s not a 5 star review is that it closed too early!! We got there a bit late and close to their closing time, so we wish we could have stayed longer. But all services stopped at 6pm. The sun was shining, the patio was nearly full, and we were told they would be closing the entrance soon so if we could finish up. What a shame because it would have been beautiful to stay there and keep consuming for another couple of hours. Their early closing time was not COVID related, apparently they always close at 6pm throughout the summer. Beautiful place regardless. Definitely worth a visit!
Peach cider is the best among ciders and wooden fired pizza is also good but nothing special compared to pizza pizza's pizza according to my husband. However, the view and the atmosphere are awesome!
Beautiful location with an awesome view. Definitely recommend having lunch here. The pizzas were really tasty. I had the pear cider and loved it. Staff is super friendly and service was quick.
Cider was cold, cold, cold! Just what was needed for the hot, hot, extremely hot day. Great price! 5 bucks for 2L Everytime I'm in Prince Edward County I will swing by and purchase this incredibly delicious non alcoholic cider!
One of the nicest hill top stops in PEC. Great ciders (the dry one with a touch of ginger is a fav of my wife), excellent wood oven pizza (the fungi is another fav), they now have daily specials, wine and I think beer? The view on a clear sunny day is just spectacular. NOTE - is season (June to Aug) is place gets busy. If you want a table for lunch on the weekends, try to reserve or get there early.
Unfortunately the location was crowded so samples were not permitted. However I did have some at my nephew's house the day before and was really impressed. It was for that reason that we went to the site and purchased a case. Lovely sight and certainly worth a visit. I would suggest a weekday might be better as the crowds on a Saturday was quite a bit. I will add that the cider is a pleasant surprise from what I remember as a child.
Great view and lunch at the restaurant was great. This was a busy spot, but worth a visit if in the area.
We photographed and wedding party at County Cider before their ceremony. The Cider is delicious, the location is stunning, and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Can't wait to go back for a drink this summer!
Did the 8-cider tasting and it was amazing. The bartenders walked us through the cider making process and were super knowledgeable. Favourites were the pear, peach and blackberry peach!
Incredible place. Great service. Amazing views. Delicious pizza and ciders. A place where the first answer to any question is not “NO”. Loved it. Thank you, county cider!! MJ and Jim, cyclists from peterborough. We will be back.
Tasty ciders and good food. Nice scenic location and grounds. Can walk the brief apple and grape orchards. Oddly did not offer flights and the cost per pint was surprisingly high, but a nice place nonetheless.
I was pretty disappointed as many people suggested I should visit this location on my short visit to PEC. At nearly $30 after taxes and tip for a pizza, I had high expectations for their wood-fired pizza. However, it was dry and lacked flavour - all of us ended up having to compensate with hot sauce. The cider, while expensive, was definitely much better! I had the blackberry peach and blood orange ciders, both of which slightly made up for the pizza. Additionally, the service was not very friendly considering it was pretty dead on a Saturday evening. All in all, I would say there are much better places to visit in the county.
great pizzasand ciders! my favourite pizza was the one with fig jam.
This was my 4th time here and I have enjoyed the visit each time. The cider cocktails were great especially the Blackberry Peach was amazing!
We go every time we’re in PEC, several times each summer. Great ciders and great food. Their outdoor patio has an amazing view of the lake.
We had lunch here as a family and it was fabulous! The pizza is outstanding, excellent salads too! My husband had the pickerel and it was very fresh and tasty. The ciders are also excellent. My favourite is the blackberry peach cider. The …
Nice place. Not a big cider fan but the one local beer they had available was good. An “orange peel” pale ale. The pizza was quite good and a decent size for sharing.
This is my 2nd visit to County Cider, once during wine tour and 2nd time with friends during the PEC Jazz Festival. Good food...wood fired pizza oven...friendly service and the ambiance of vineyard with the lake as your backdrop takes outdoor patio to the next level.
We had a Reservation for 3 people yesterday, August 26, 2020. The young hostess proceeded to try to talk us into a picnic table for 2. We respectfully declined trying to fit 3 adults at the table for two. We then stayed where we were …
Wonderful friendly and informative staff. Great product, really wish it was available here in Peterborough. Great Covid protocols.
Absolutely gorgeous place. Definitely recommend a visit. Awesome cider too
Great cider. Loved it! Blackberry peach cider is a must!! Did not have the chance to do a tasting as we had to reserve in advance but I would recommend to anyone to try it out. Cute little location
So very sad that due to COVID we were unable to visit in 2020 and most likely again in 2021. County Cider is always a stop when we visit from the states. Can’t wait till we can get back and restock! I am missing the peach and pear and my husband the Tortured Path
Great pizza ???? beautiful view
Stunning views, fantastic cider, excellent food and service. Such a wonderful experience, definitely not a place to miss. Had an amazing time.
Typically one of my favourite stops. Stopped on a cloudy Oct afternoon. We had a 20 minute wait for a table for lunch so on a whim went to see about a tasting. They were so accommodating given that we had not booked this in advance. They were ever so willing to let us share a flight between 3 of us as well. What was a letdown was that the 3 different pizzas that we ordered were subpar quality at best. I say this in comparison to the 5 star food I had there 2 years ago. It was so disappointing but the rest of our experience was wonderful.
Great place to be for a variety of alcoholic ciders. Located by the lake Ontario; location is very picturesque and serene. The retail store is located in a gorgeous rustic looking barn and is unique.
Locally brewed cider, very good. Limited menu, tasty food. Wood burning pizza ovens. Crust overcooked but they corrected the problem. Accessible washroom might be a bit difficult for some wheelchair users.
Great spot to check out especially if you are a cider person. The tasting is well worth it. The restaurant wasn't open when we went but there is a great view. Would like to visit again in the fall.
Man, what a view. Delicious pizza, tasty cider. My GPS took us to the wrong place, a farmer's field in the middle of nowhere. Happy we were able to figure it out eventually
Loved the view, my ciders and the pizza! The blackberry peach is a new favourite of mine. The blood orange had a creamscile taste to it. A bit too sweet for me. I have a gluten allergy and they were good for understanding. The pizza was delicious!
Delicious cider, amazing wood fired oven pizza, beautiful views, beautiful grounds, great waiting staff/kitchen staff. …
Great place to eat lunch! The food is super and the cider even better! Dogs allowed all over the place and the staff are so welcoming and friendly! Can't wait to go back.
Came here on a Saturday during the Victoria Day long weekend, the place was busy! Beautiful Cidery with amazing customer service! Our server, Dahnon, was very knowledgeable; shared a lot of back story of what goes behind making each of ciders. You CAN'T find any of their Ciders at LCBO, so I recommend stalking up from their storefront. Their menu is overpriced for what it is.... portions are small.
Great selection of wines for the tasting. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
A stop at County Cider is a must every time I am in the County. This time, I bought a tasting. Totally worth it! Got my assorted case of flavors to take home with me, of course.
After a morning of riding through the 1,000 Islands, this treasure was a fantastic find for hot and weary travellers. Located near Lake on the Mountain, the views were spectacular and paired well with the refreshing, crisp cider. I chose the Tortured Path. ???? Unfortunately, I only had room in my saddle bags for 2 bottles to go. The stone pizza was some of the best we have ever had. The service was fantastic too!
My wife and I kicked off our PEC trip at the County Cider and we absolutely loved our experience. The tasting was well organized, informative and staff member was super friendly in giving us tons of information on the uniqueness of each cider. To top it off we had a chance to try the pizza overlooking the gorgeous view on the patio and it was one of the bst pizzas we have had! Favourite Ciders were the Apple, Peach and Pear!
Best ciders you'll ever have. Not pretentious or trying too hard, just delicious easy drinking cider!
What a great location up on the hill overlooking the water. Pizza is great and they offer tastings as well including flavours you won't find in the LCBO. Mix of dry and sweet ciders. Can be a bit of a wait for the restaurant on the weekend but put your name down before you do your tasting and then the table should be ready by the time you're done.
Prince Edward County is like a jewel of Eastern Ontario. The County Cider Company is an outstanding location to view the orchards, the vineyards and the gorgeous waterfront of Lake Ontario. In the summer and fall you can sit a table, partake in a cool pint of cider while you're waiting for your freshly baked, woodfired pizza to arrive. Their ciders are incredible, the blood orange is one of our favorites. Have a tasting, buy some souvenirs or just bask on the hill on a sunny day and let the magic of the county take care of your senses.
Amazing 5 stars! Absolutely stunning location, pizza is some of the best and the cider was delicious. Highly recommend.
Such a good variety of cider. Tasty. Fire grilled pizza was lovely. Such friendly staff. Would definitely go again.
Great ciders, great food and a great atmosphere. We have been to the County Cider Company tasting room and restaurant many times, most recently during Thanksgiving weekend. It is a must see attraction during any visit to the area. We will be back soon!
Love county cider. The manager (Neil) on the other hand. He was really rude with the staff and costumers. I continue to go back and avoid him at all costs.
I’d like to reply to people who called the staff here rude or unhelpful. We have been to the County Cider Company several times and always had exceptional food, drink and service. These are not ordinary times. The food service industry is bound to abide by both the rules set by the government and local health units and to do what they can to keep both patrons and staff safe. The County Cider Company has made their safety protocols clear both on their website and in person by the hostess as you arrive. In normal times, it’s possible to arrive without a reservation and find a place to sit and be served. Right now, with limited seating, due to physical distancing, especially at this busy time, it is not. About a month ago, we made a reservation for ourselves and our son and were seated promptly and given clear instructions how to order. Food and drinks were delivered promptly and cheerfully and were stellar, as usual. Thanks to the staff of the County Cider Company for a great experience!
Favourite place to visit in PEC. Delicious ciders, super friendly people and a beautiful place to relax with a pint. I recommend this place to anyone I know who visits the area, a great alternative for non-wine drinkers as well. Will be back again!
On Sunday September 5th at 4pm Unfortunetly the service was unorganized and rude especially from such a highly recommended place. We were planning on having dinner after the cider tasting. Do to Covid restrictions only a few groups could be served at a time, and they were full, we were asked to return in 15 minutes, however, I heard the staff tell others the same thing. Should they not have registered our name at this time to make sure we were served next? This was not the case. We decided to reserve a table for dinner to make sure we would have a place to eat after the cider tasting. This unfortunetly was not possible, we were advised that the last dinner service was at 545pm as first come first served and was reminded that staff had been on since 9am. Should that have been our problem or should management have planned better. Worried we would not be able to complete the cider tasting because they had 3 groups ahead of us and was advised to come back in 15 minutes and not being able to reserve a table for dinner we left disappointed. Had the staff been able to plan or assist us with meeting time lines our disapointment would have been avoided.
My favourite stop in the County! Best ciders, great view, and tasty pizza!
Number 1 place to stop when we are in Prince Edward County! Love all their cider and picked up some new ones today!
