The park itself is well kept but the lookout has not been maintained in a while, so your view over the surrounding area will be quite limited.

The observatory is located on a hill overlooking the city of Picton. The moment when you can hear the bells ringing from the town church announcing the time is a wonderful moment. This is a wonderful place that will give you a sense of peace from the daily grind. This is a place you should stop by on your road trip.

Honest Review | I already came here not expecting much due to the lack of view opportunities thanks to the trees blocking the view; however even if you don’t get a view of Picton itself, you still get a relatively nice view of the county, the green ahead as well as the church/cathedral in the town, but nonetheless you should only come here if you want a view of the county, not a view of Picton

Beautiful spot great location it's too bad that didn't make a better park but it did good for what it is I should have put a castle there or something or some kind of monument it would have been a lot nicer if it's spent the money wisely and built something beautiful to stand on to look over the beautiful down below town

Lookout below! If you can that is... Whilst nice to see the wards amalgamating, they sure didn't come together over this view. It was a nice turnaround point to check the airport out again. P.s. tree identification guide recommended

It's an interesting lookout point with some history. But it would be much better if they actually tried to trim the tress so you could look across at the town ????

Its ok. Stopped there - thinking the view would be exceptional. Lots of tree coverage and very little view. Was pumped to get there, but found it underwhelming

Beautiful vista, and a nice spot for a summer picnic. Gorgeous view of the fall colours. Has plaques with factoids about the original British and Quaker settlements in the area. Downsides: no trash cans or toilets.

If you need to stretch your legs, stop and have a look. The greenery is in the way a bit in the late summer and the view in not particularly remarkable but it is free and easy to pull over. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed!
