I go there fishing with my brother. We sometimes take a BBQ, one of the disposable Q's from Dollarama. Catch a bunch of panfish. It's fun.The grounds are clean, grass is cut,staff is friendly. A great place for a picnic. The other benefit is the close proximity to Roger's Cove. There's a pretty good beach here.

A bridge between beavermead park and Roger's cove. A nice grassy area for picnics. Benches along the lock to watch boats. Not very close to any stores so of you are looking for somewhere convenient to moor your boat, I would go to Little Lake marina.

Superb opening into the Otonabe river (I believe) plus you get to see the ships passing through the lock, which is always a show. Quiet place, with a huge park around, great for a quick or longer outing.

Spent the night below the lock. Busy traffic during the day, but quieted down at night. There is a kids playground, splash park, and supervised beach very close to the lock.

It's nice, well maintained piece of history that is still fully functional, intentionally left at the manual level, the way it was opened and closed at the times it was built. Obvious resemblance to British, Dutch and Belgian locks of the similar size and height. Delightful!

Would have liked it more of we could have heard what was being said. The boat was full of people on a bus trip who were load and singing and clapping while singing. Even when we asked them to be quieter they ignored us. The boat staff made no attempt to quiet them down.

I live within two blocks of this dang bridge. Even my six year old Great Nephew, whom most likely has a future in architecture made a great suggestion. As opposed to opening swing bridge for one boat and twenty cars waiting at both sides to get thru town..... Build a skyway bridge for vehicle access and this illuminating use for swing bridge all together.

Beautiful leisurely walk that takes you over to Beavermede Park. A lit of benches along the way for my mum to stop and take a rest. Dog friendly, a lot of space. Plenty of room to social distance. Gorgeous scenery. Watching the hand-cranked lift lock is cool, too!

One of the staff members for the lock was kind enough to teach me some history about the locks after she was finished opening the doors. The scenery was absolutely stunning and the walk is so peaceful. There's a beach, park, pathway to the locks, a chip truck and so much more to explore. Enjoy your trip ????
