REVIEWS OF Rose Point Trail IN Parry Sound

Alex Reinhart

A nice, easy, accessible place to walk. It's an old rail bed, so it's not the most exciting hike, but still pleasant. Parking can be difficult on busy days, but the trail doesn't usually feel 'busy' because it's so long.

Alexander Reinhart

It's always a beautiful walk, anyone can do it, about as accessible as trails get!

Isaac Golle

My only complaint is how straight it is. But the scenery is lovely and full of nature so it's well worth the hike

James Leishman

Easy walk along a well groomed trail. Very close to downtown Parry Sound. Scenic trail with lakes and northern rock. Benches to rest along the way. Almost anyone could enjoy this walk. Don't miss this if visiting this area.

Beautiful trail

This is a great little trail. Most popular for people on ATV's and Snowmobiles. However it gets a lot of regular traffic from people commuting to and from work and also people walking their dogs. Its about 6.7 km in length if you go from here and end at the Forest Hill Grocery

This trail was beautiful, full of wildflowers and Canadian shield rocks. Ate some blackberries as well! Five to seven minutes later you will come to an opening with a lake on the right and a bog on the left. You can keep going and there are few ppl in between hiking or walking their dogs. Was a very relaxing pretty walk.

Its a great bike ride and you will see snakes and snapping turtles almost every time.

John Brown

An easy walk, marred by the irresponsible dog owners who ignore the law and let their dogs off leash

Leon Parry

Fun dog walk????

Beautiful trail! First 6 or 7k ,(starting from Rose Pt Rd) are relatively flat, but a bit bumpy if you are cycling, with larger gravel and rocks (ie not the gravel dust you find on some rail trails). Scenery is fantastic with bridges, rivers, lakes and ponds. Eventually though, the washouts take over and force you around on to rocks, stumps, sand, mud etc. Better for a mountain bike than a hybrid or gravel bike. Still a lot of fun and a great ride! I would do it again!

Good walk on rail trail through woods and short gorges with views opening up at small lakes.

Great trail to get some exercise and bring the pooch too! While not technically allowed (when is it?) All us locals walk the dogs leash off as long as they're friendly and won't fight other dogs. I'd guess the trail is about 5km total. Ontario scenery for sure, but watch for ATVs in summer and snowmobiles in winter ;

Kim St Louis

Beautiful. Well cared for. A great distance with gorgeous scenery but not any inclines. A very flat dry terrain. I love the fact that you have parking lots at various points and this allows the hiker to decide on the length of the hike.

Wendy S

Beautiful trail, about 8k from Rose Point Toad to James Bay Junction, past forests, turtle ponds, rivers and waterfalls. Nice and flat, used for hiking (lots of dogs out there), biking, ATV's, and snow machines in the winter. Great way to experience nature!
