Lighthouse campground was nice. A couple sites are on the water. Boat launch in area. Beach has sand and gradual entry for kids. Lighthouse trail is very rocky. Washrooms look like outhouse but with flushing toilets

We had come here for the Labour Day weekend and we surely had a great time. Amidst setting up the camp, playing in the water at the beach, canoeing, late night moonlit walks, star gazing at the beach and checking out the lighthouse trail, we had an action packed long weekend that we'll cherish forever.

Been a few times was always clean camp sites were well maintained. scenery is second to no where else early morning sunrises on the beach amazing. Even had a visit from Yogi. I miss the park can't wait till lock downs are done so I can revisit.

Amazing spot for a few days camping to just one day trip. There are plenty of bike trailers, amazing hikes and small sandy beaches. Please note that if you want privacy when you camp this might not be the place for you, the camp grounds are super close to each other and the forest is not that dense.

Great park with lots of breath taking landscapes. Kids and animals had a blast. Had a doe walk within 6 ft of my daughter and I on a bike ride. The views from some of the peaks are amazing. Would definitely recommend stopping by and taking a hike to explore around.

Went snowshoeing in December. Parking lot was plowed and washrooms were open. Trail was nice and we saw many deer roaming the woods. Only saw one other small group while we were out.

Beautiful park! Loved camping here. Flushing toilets close to campsites. Rent kayaks at the Killbear mall down the road. You don't need a roof rack either.

The park itself was nice. Nice beaches, nice scenery. The campsites itself though, had no privacy at all. We were booked in Killcoursie site and your neighbors are right beside you with very little tree coverage.

Great spot to camp, very clean camp grounds tons of activities to do with the family and kids. When I was there an active bear was seen roaming the grounds but I never saw it. Overall good place 10/10 would recommend.

It's official! This is going to be our family camping site we visit every year. This park is amazing, the views , the hikes, the weather. If you visit mid August, there wont be too many mosquitos, and you wont need a heater in the tent for smaller kids. ( amateur campers here! ) I will say, the campsites are not as private as desired. We were very lucky to have very nice neighbors. Most people come and stay for weeks with their trailer. We have only gone for a weekend and would love to stay longer and explore more. Make sure you fo to the rocks next to the lake for sunset. It looks amazing. Very kid friendly, safe and easy.

One of the best Campgrounds in Ontario bar none! We stayed at Killcoursie Bay RV Campground with my 30ft rig, fully treed lot, washrooms clean, and campsite appeared quiet and safe. Did some stargazing on Killcoursie Beach, exceptional view of the lake from there including the Sunrise....will definitely come back here in many years ahead.

This park is in my top 3 of the provincial Park that I have been at. Everything is super clean the bathrooms are always taken care of no matter the time . The trails were a blast with great scenery , the Beachs were very nice as well. Would definitely take a look at this park if you plan on camping in the future.

The place is a heaven. Short hikes are ideal if you have elderly parents and want to let them get close to nature. The facilities are very clean and organized. There are three beaches which are available to a day pass and all of them are clean and well organized. The place to have a barbecue as well as picnic is the twin tower hike. You will have access to potable water, clean washrooms and fire pits. Must place to visit any season in my opinion.

Love this park!! Reserve extra early if you are booking in prime camping season as it can be difficult to get a site. Fall camping is now open from thanksgiving until the end of October. It's a great time to see the park with the fall colours and it is much quieter with better chances of spotting wildlife

We had such a fun time camping at Killbear! The staff is wonderful, the facilities are modern and clean, and the grounds well kept. We were there on Thanksgiving weekend. The weather beautiful! There is lots to do. We went on a really interesting medicinal plant hike and we took lots of pictures of the famous tree and the beautiful night sky!

We had a great experience at Killbear provincial park. We had a campsite that was close to the beach and the amenities were well taken care of. The park staff were very friendly and helpful. The one trail we went on, Twin Points, had interesting terrain to hike on and was not all that challenging. Would definitely revisit Killbear again.

Absolutely beautiful. The layout of the rocks, the camping spots on the waters and regardless to say the Georgian Bay itself makes it one of the better Ontario Parks overall. Beware of bears springing on the roads in the dark.

Great place to camp with Beautiful scenery, and lots of wildlife. There were very few mosquitoes and black flies both times I have visited (mid July), and had the chance to encounter bears on both trips. There is a nice beach and lake for canoeing or kayaking and a beautiful lookout trail

This was my first time at Killbear, I was a little overwhelmed at first by how big the park was but they’re were plenty of signs so it’s really easy to get around. Really friendly staff & great atmosphere! Tons of beautiful camp sites! I can see why a lot of families love it here, a lot to offer! The park is kept really clean and the offer flushable our houses! The trails were short but beautiful and tons of wild life, we saw a few deer, turkeys a lot of beautiful birds and at night heard a few coyotes so be sure to always keep your sight clean! And the park is known for bears, so always be bear safe! Would 10/10 recommend!

First time to go to Killbear PP and it was love at first sight. We just came for the day, although it was 2.5 hours drive from Toronto, and lounged in the Day Use Area of the park. The ambitious couple in us swam the calm waters of Kilcoursie Bay to the small, yet beautiful Scott island for about an hour going & another hour back to the beach—such a beautiful island of large bedrock and home to windswept pine trees to discover! We brought light lunch, a litre of coconut water & a cellphone, triple-wrapped in a huge balloon of black garbage bag that served as a floatie, aside my foam noodle. It was a crazy idea to swim right across it, and we don’t recommend it (good swimmers or not). And experience told us to rent a kayak or a canoe for next time we visit (several rentals are just outside the park). One camper offered to tug us back to the beach if we got in trouble, and another one kayaked right across Georgian campsite to check on us if we’re okay. There is a small sand bar for Day Use, it was pretty clean, the water was cold (late July), but a quick dunk is the trick, super refreshing, and you will never want to leave! There were boats parked several meters in front of the beach, it was not annoying but I wish they have a designated docking site out of the beautiful view of Kilcoursie Bay. The washroom was impressively clean, and thank goodness no caterpillars parked inside! Lol. It is an outhouse but with two flushable toilets inside (not vault). Showers are not permitted due to Covid-19. Would love to experience camping in Killbear as we haven’t camped before. Booking this park for camping is tough, as seasoned campers say, but nevertheless we will come back to this beautiful park even just for a day! We ❤️ Killbear!

Really Love this provincial park!! Amazing scenery and hiking trails are beautiful. I love the twin point trail. Little one was very excited and anxious cuz he thought we might see some bears. The Campsite we booked was good, the campground is very close to beach area. Water is clean. Will definitely come back to camp here again.

I would have given 5 stars but the site we got had a mass e boulder and we couldn't park our camper properly, it had to be parked on weird angle and we did not sleep well. Bathrooms were decent but only one shower open for the entire camp (unacceptable). Beach was good People respected radio free zone for the most part. Overall it was a good experience minus the awkward site and only one shower.

Such a beautiful park! I go every year with my family and it’s always a blast. If you enjoy hiking, there are lots of trails with breathtaking views. The park provides guests with both sandy beaches and beautiful rock faces. If you like exploring Killbear is the place to go!

Monday brought back wonderful memories, this being our fourth visit to Killbear in thirty years. Albeit our most comfortable visit. Past visits have included tents, children, pets. This year we've graduated to a mobile home and our children have brought their own and overtook a camp site near to us with a much larger tent then we ever owned. We are next the the lake and both have the luxury of hydro on site. Washrooms are a stone's throw an fresh water is almost as close. The weather is cooperating and the camps guests are not rowdy, much different than what we remember from our twenties. All in all a good choice for families to enjoy summer while it's here.

Great options but avoid Blind Bay Campground. First, there are so few direction signs, you must have a map to get in/out. Campsites were OK but noisy; untrained dogs and absent owners were a nuisance. Toilet near us (860 area) was old, leaked in the rain and one of the women's kept plugging. Why not unisex toilets for starters? Swimming area at Blind Bay is all rock and not suitable for young children. Main beach is a drive away. Lots of garbage around our campsite No store in the park (except firewood). The Detour Store about 6km away sells everything and rents watercraft and bikes. Fishing offshore is good. Hiking options excellent but must drive to trailhead from Blind Bay. Staff friendly and helpful

Amazing camping ground. The camp sites are staggered and not too close to each other. We went on a weekday so it wasn't overly busy. Very clean, large sites and some had great views of the lake. The sites are on the Georgian bay which connects to the great lakes so water was on the cooler side, however, it was good enough when we went on Sept 1st. About 2.5 hrs away from the GTA. The beach was sandy and no rocks and water was clean. Highly recommend.

Good sized campsites spaced generously apart. Gorgeous access to clear Georgian Bay waters. Some good and very accessible hikes - shoreline and viewpoint were both cool. Be aware that it gets very windy around the bay, and in the cooler months the temperature can drop on you

Beautiful trails, I recommend the shoreline clamber... a beautiful rugged trek across the shoreline of a few campgrounds, gorgeous rock formations. We stayed in the lighthouse campground, and I would recommend it!

Killbear is the greatest of Ontario’s provincial parks. Endless beaches, cliff diving, boating, wildlife… so much to see and do. Been going there since I was a kid and will keep going til I can’t anymore.

Great scenery. Get on a piece of large rock and just lose yourself in the view. Staff very friendly. Restrooms cleaned frequently so no real worries there. Would have given 5 stars but after a few days of rain it's pretty obvious what sites need grading or fill. My site was fine but felt bad for a few newbies who were soaked. And one other item is the firewood fresh off the truck. Bought a few bags and even after splitting it was still damp in the middle. Like to support the parks by buying wood onsite, but disappointed you can get drier cheaper wood just outside, not inside.

Second time there and loved it. We had campsite 313 with a rock behind us. The park services we're great and the park employees always camp around waving and making sure everything is great. The best part as always is sunset rock as it's just across from us a lil ways and a wonderful view of the sun setting. No issues with the washrooms as they we're always cleaned with the cleaning crew coming around to them 4 times a day. I would definitely recommend this site and place to anyone.

Not really many Hiking trails. The one that is 6km is pretty much beside main road so no real sense of outdoors. The Lookout trail was nice but after rain it gets quite muddy. With COVID they should have had everyone start from same point as the boardwalk at places does not allow someone to step off and let others pass. The campsites look pretty big but not many people were following the bear proof site protocols.

Went midweek before August long weekend and stayed at Lighthouse Point area. Staff were nice and sites were well maintained although easy to see your neighbors. Kids enjoyed the hiking paths and multiple beaches. Water was great. Would definitely visit again.

Great provincial park good size lots but only electricity at site and typical of many provincial parks a shared pole that can be a fair distance from best RV location ours was over 30 m/100 ft. Washrooms and showers were clean.

Our Killbear family trip was so wonderful. We just loved it. It was super clean and all around friendly. The water was crystal clear and lovely. My 2 suggestions would be more signage for walking trails and more speed enforcement. We'll be back!

Last year reserved a campsite here, was a last minute reservation so choices weren't optimal, however was still pleasantly surprised. Not being used to a radio Free campsite it was a bit of an adjustment however the peace and quiet was also a great addition. The campsite was very clean, outhouse were regularly maintained and staff was friendly. Beware of the chimpmunks, very cute, and curious, but they'll definitely steal your food if left unattended. All in all, this was a great experience, would definitely return !

Nice park for camping, hiking, biking and canoeing. There are some beautiful spots on the North Shore if you are canoeing or kayaking. Staff are friendly. Book your campsite well in advance as bookings fill up quickly.

Loved the hike to Lookout Point Trail in the winter, easy and manageable. Definitely recommend to bring trekking poles. The view is spectacular once you reach the place.

Great wildlife sightings, bears, deer with fawns, birds and butterflies. Lots of space to social distance on the beach and rocks. Washrooms cleaned at least 4 times per day. All staff super friendly and helpful.

This is one of the best park in Ontario. It's well maintained, established long time ago, clean and features amazing nature. You can see on the photos how clear the water, sand on the beaches is soft and pleasant. Water is warm in Summer. You will also find great hiking and bike trails that will lead you though the forest, plains and into big flat rocks. Natural Center is also fun to visit. We were on Harold Point, most of that site are electrified, this is very handy. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful, rustic and amazing park. Cliff jumping, beaches, hiking, paddling, and biking are some of the activities available here. Although the park rangers at the Blind Bay entrance were super grumpy and non communicative, the beauty of the park outweighed this minor irritation. Our Blind Bay site was amazing.

Absolutely loved it! I go back every single year. This is going to be my third year this year but my family has been going for about 12 years. We have been to many other sites but this one takes the cake. It is peaceful beautiful. A lot of trees for shading and shadowing but they also allow A LOT of sunlight. There are so many different walks and paths to take for a beautiful views like the video I have uploaded.

Absolutely beautiful. Went with a group tour and we had a chance to visit the visitors center. Hats off to Anabelle who did a mini presentation for us with a fox snake. She told us all about them and answered our many questions. We hiked the lookout point trail and the twin points trails. They were both great hikes with rewarding views. This is a negative review but in all fairness I am compelled to say...We, Mary and I, were travelling without reservations for Killbear or any knowledge of this park. It was on our driving route and we hoped we could get a site with short notice. We did, Mary made a reservation for one night with her phone that morning and we arrived early evening with great expectations. Campsite 569. At the office we were informed it was a radio free area (quiet) and near the water. We thought this sounded good, we didn't ask about alternate sites nor did the office make any suggestions or recommendations. I have camped in every province and territory in Canada; national, provincial, private campgrounds, remote areas, roadside, you name it. Campsite 569 is the WORST place I have ever pitched a tent. The fact that it had been raining made the sites entire surface, tire treaded dark muck embedded with camper detritus, seem worse. It was getting late, it was for only one night, we pitched our tent anyway. We didn't realize there would be the reek of the nearby toilets, the swampy sudsy drainage ditch behind the trees or the beach access parking area just feet from our picnic table. Nor did we realize the traffic, cars, trucks, motorcycles, bikes, strollers, the incredible piles of garbage, the volume of people, the noise, yelling, radios.. it went on and on into the night. Our campsite should be a parking lot. With 1,500 sites at this park, one less would not make an impact. We were not aware of other vacant sites until we went for a late ride on our bikes. Maybe those sites were going to fill up after dark? We were very disappointed in what we had and where we were when we saw large unoccupied sites, quiet, private. Even so, we were set up, too lazy to complain. But what galls me the most is that the site we were at had the same fee as the other sites we saw. We paid $57.00 for our site and $7.00 for wood to burn. 64 bucks! In Espanola we paid 65 for a motel with all the amenities. Is this a fair comparison? Beds, TV, microwave, kitchenette, shower etc, that's not camping is it. But what the hell was it we had at Killbear? All said, there were lots of people that seemed to be having a good time. We didn't. Zero stars.

Our favourite provincial park in Ontario. Lovely beaches, all slightly different. Great hiking trails not to technical. 5km biking Trail to get around the park. They sell wood but not ice in the park. Lighthouse is sedate compared to other sections of the park. Don't forget to cliff jump at Harold's point.

Nice park We couldn't explore more because it was closed and there was restrictions where we can go. The day use area was accessible. Went to Kilcoursie Bay and it was all frozen. In the future I have to explore there more. It's a beautiful park for sure.

Camping in Killbear Provincial park: Killbear is one of the most beautiful provincial park in Ontario. Its 270 km from Toronto and around 2.5 hour drive. We had one night camping at Georgian Bay campsite. There are lots of different sites also available for camping but most of them get booked very early. The park can be also use for the day trip too. We went two hiking trails also. Major trails: Lighthouse point trail, Twin point trail, Lookout trail Activities: Hiking, Boating, Camping, BBQ, Fishing (boat fishing mostly) Food: You can cook there if you are camping or there are 2 general store close by availble for snavks and grocery, We didn’t check out any restaurants Attraction: Sandy beach, Ricky cliff, light house, Scenic view of Georgian Bay, Canoeing/Boating, beach swimming Drawbacks: This year whole park is full of Caterpillars, So watch out Visit date: July 8-9, 2021

Stayed at Lighthouse Point this August. Loved Killbear. Great sites, great beaches, great water, fabulous scenery, enjoyable trails. The visitor centre is very well done and the staff throughout the park were all very helpful and friendly. Ventured out on my paddle board during the calmer morning hours.

We spent the Father's day weekend here and loved this park. It did rain Friday night to Saturday late afternoon but once the weather cleared we got to see the beautiful beach. Too bad it was too cold to enjoy the sand beach because it did look really nice. The park is big and the sites a really decent size. My only complaint is the situation of the electrical outlet on our site (behind the fire pit). We had to buy another electrical cord in order to be able to use the fire pit and have power to our RV. Otherwise the park is beautiful and we saw lots of deer.

Killbear is a very lovely park. I spent a few hours here paddling and fishing. The water was warm and very clean, the scenes are beautiful too. A deer was sighted near a campsite. I gave up the hike after receiving some bad mosquito bites. The information board is very informative and interesting.

Great park, very clean. Surprisingly no mosquitoes. We enjoyed the trails and the beach was very close to our campsite. Fellow campers very considerate, no parties or noises. I noticed after a huge rain some sites were flooded.

Car camped 1 night in Beaver Dams campgrounds. What a beautiful park! Wonderful staff, great patronage, accessible & clean amenities (washrooms, showers, water taps, accessible ramps). Lots of spots to eat before entering the park. Shoutout to Beaver Dams. My campsite was a minute walking from the beach. Nice spacious spot. The only drawback is poor privacy during the day. Just one night in this magical atmosphere made me forget all my pandemic blues!

We went for day use to explore the trails, but due to tree clean-up, a lot of the park was closed with no access. The beach and a small trail were open, with a nice rock shoreline.

Went camping here this weekend and had a great time. The beaches were very clean, and surprisingly the washroom wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. It's clear they did regular cleaning but in my opinion you should always practice safe use wherever you go. Each camp site is big enough for a large vehicle and 3 tents. The firewood they make you buy there but it's only $9/ bag. They have great senic hikes but be very careful as there has been snake and bear sightings. However, we did not see any. Would definitely recommend.

Definitely not the biggest provincial park you can find but has its own unique landscape with beaches, nice short trails and campsites. The staff is very helpful, the roads inside are properly paved, the washrooms are kept clean with regular visits. The camping areas are regular sized(compared to other parks). Plenty of different birds, squirrels and chip munks that make the atmosphere full of beautiful sounds. We didnt catch any glimpses of bear or deer but the people besides us did. Overall a nice place to go and explore, especially if you are beginning to camp and wanting to explore the majority of the park in a day or 2. Also the park makes for a beautiful star gazing spot at night where the areas are cleared up like the parking spot by the beach at the of the road. FYI: The closest spot to getting tims, walmart or anything for that matter is parry sound which a good 30 minute plus drive.

Was the best best place ever till our visit now. First when I booked it in in March no one updated me that the showers would be closed because of covid19 but the washrooms are open no logic as usual. Our washroom beside us broke now the second time in 3 days and no one know when its going to be fixed. Very poor maintenance this year, very disappointed

Killbear is one of the iconic places for the camping people. Yes, it's is far. But there is nothing like climbing on a huge granite rock at Harold's Point, that is still warm, and watch the sunset over 30,000 islands. Water is warm and perfectly clean. Booking a site is difficult, because there is enough people booking a whole month. Weekday stays are easier to get. Amenities are standard for Ontario Parks. Ice is off grounds, about 5 min drive. I've been at Killbear maybe 8 times, and over the years, the water level has been rising (global warming?). Look at the pictures from Kilcoursie (Aug 2020) - it was a fairly wide sandy beach about 10 years ago. All other sand beaches are also smaller, but don't discount rocks - they are nice and flat, polished by the glacier. I loved staying at Blind Bay, and Granite Saddle. Trails are amazing - especially at the Lighthouse and the Lookout Trail.

What an amazing park. Marked and formed by the ice age's best attempt at sculpting a Canadian wilderness, the park has no shortage of things to do. The swimming was nice, the cliff diving exciting and the recreational trail that runs the length of the park well maintained. Washroom and shower facilities were clean and cleaned regularly. Stayed in Lighthouse campground which is a long ways into the park and the sites were very close together, but spacious. Georgian Bay and Parry Sound are fun swimming and exploring for the whole family.

Love this park!! The staff are all friendly and helpful. The sites are a good size and spaces out nicely. The park is full of nice views and great trails. There is even a nice long off-leash trail for dogs. The beaches are all really nice with clean swimable waters. The comfort stations are well maintained and cleaned multiple times a day, plus the individual washrooms aren't just holes in the ground!

Its worth the drive in to the park. We had site 250 and a 30 ft trailer fit no problem. Huge site. Close to the water. Only partially disconnected the truck. Park is nice but the staff need to go through it without blinders on. The said we'd have no problem finding the signs to our site but it wasn't clearly marked. It all worked out though. Beautiful place. Would come back.

It is a nice park, good for hiking and for family with kids, the hiking trails are good for biking so if you are with your kids it is pretty safe. The Lighthouse point is nice to visit, it is an easy walk in the park not much of a hike. Harold point is where you can dive or jump of the big rocks just be safe and do it properly. While driving through the park we encountered lots of dears and in the morning we saw a coyote but nothing to worry about. We had a blast that's our 4th visit and we will do it again

We go to Killbear every year! The sites are good and the beaches are small but nice. We love seeing all the deer. We have counted on one trip over 25 deer! One walked right through our site while we were eating our lunch! The sunsets here are why I love it so much! Some of the best sunsets ever! Nice rocky cliffs to walk out on and take in the views. There are a couple good hikes and one with a really nice view from up high. We have brought our canoe here and had fun adventuring, seeing things from the water and finding a secluded small sandy beach where we went swimming. We love it there!

I love this place. During Covid times the provincial park are doing a great job. At the entrance you are requested to wear a mask and they give a map with directions. People are keeping their distance and wearing masks in the public washrooms. The only issue here is that the water is getting colder as we move into August and it is raining too. Other than that the park is a great and safe place to visit. Deer flies are everywhere and I was bitten badly, but it is part of the adventure. I recommend the trail. Do not wear sandals since it is slippery and the trail has parts where is rough with rocks and slippery parts.

Beautiful location. Good swimming and hiking. There are deer and snakes in the area and the occasional bear so clean campsite protocol is required. Put all food and cooking gear away after every use. Campsites are generally flat and comfortable. Flushing outhouses!

Speaking as a boater who's anchored at Kilcoursie Bay right in front of Killbear's beaches for the past 10 days, this is a wonderful park. A ton of very respectful campers, quiet nights and very good protection from pesky north winds. The water is crystal clear and deep, sandy bottom for easy-peasy anchoring, access to shore by dinghy is easy. Dog friendly areas here and there, and a nice, 2km trail around the point that can easily be accomplished in flip flops.

I love this place, the staff are so dedicated, the restrooms and washrooms are kept clean, there is a great short hiking trail near to the park trail that travels through a wetland and up onto the top of a lookout, perfect for little children to walk. The beach in front of the Beaver Dam camp ground is bustling with families so again, being a parent, a great place to take the children. This is one of my happy places.

The trails were too easy and there was very little privacy between lots at beaver dam camp; however, facilties and sites were clean and the Warden was freindly and helpful. I also noticed a few accomdations (trails, beach paths) for those with physical limitations which was really nice.

Watch out for the park Warden, Robo Cop The park is great, we are seasoned campers with respect for the outdoors and keep the place cleaner than it was before we arrived. I parked my jeep by the beach area, 5 mins later im getting a ticket without a warning. I was polite and moved the vehicle when asked by the park warden. Still gave me a $150 ticket anyway for parking a Jeep by the sand area wow. I will not be making any reservations at this park due to my experiences with the Warden. This park has lost my future business, we will be camping else where.

This is a great spot for campers or RVs, the lake is great for swimming, there's a boat launch and great flat water for a morning kayak or paddle board. The check-in process is a little annoying as you have to give someone a while bunch of information about your party you could easily enter yourself online with a better booking system.

We went camping for a weekend there in June 2021 and it was amazing even though it was raining the whole time we were there. The rain was both a blessing and a curse because although it made our life harder with bbq but after it stopped raining for two hours all the big spiders and gypsy moths came out. We had a really amazing 4 days here. All the sites are spacious some bigger then others. We had electrical hook up in beaver dams with a 3 min walk to the bathroom and beach. The park is well maintained and clean and the bathrooms are as well. The trails are amazing and really fun and sunsets are gorgeous!

Nice park amenities are not close to one another. Our site was at the Beaver Dams campground, site # 288. This was one of the largest and most private sites we have ever had and you could walk to the beach from it. One aspect of the park we did not like was the dog beach, or lack thereof. There was no sand, only large rocks and the water was not shallow, so definitely not swimming friendly for smaller dogs. We did have an unfortunate incident during our stay. We were visiting with an RV and left for the day in order to go to the dog beach, when we returned everything we had left outside - such as dog tie outs, table cloths, bungee cord and axe, were all gone. We called the park, just in case they picked them up thinking we were gone. The park ranger responded very promptly and were there within 5 minutes of our call. Unfortunately those items were never found, this is the first time we have ever had a situation like this in all our many camping trips.

One of the most beautiful places on Earth. Bring good hiking shoes for the trails, most are natural path (not boardwalk) with tree roots and rocks aplenty. All of the trails are perfectly manageable for even the youngest hikers, though. The rising water levels have unfortunately completely buried some of the beaches (Day Use, Twin Points, Lighthouse), and reduced many of the other to thin strips of sand with a sharp decline into the water. Nonetheless, it's still a gorgeous place to camp, with the sunset/jumping rocks at Harold's Point being a particularly picturesque place to explore. The campsites themselves are generously sized and well-maintained, and a few years ago most of the camp bathrooms received an upgrade from basic bucket-over-a-hole privy to full flush toilets. Two words of caution: first, the water here takes until mid-July to be comfortable for swimming and has usually already cooled off by late August. With younger kids, the mid-summer is the best (and hardest to book) time to fully enjoy the beaches here. Second, both dog beaches are now completely flooded, so plan accordingly.

We went June 2021. Stayed at Harolds Point and Campsite was clean. Not noisy and great for family. Book something by the water it’s nicer. Bring bikes as there are great biking trails good for entire family. Well maintained and flat on most parts. This time of year there was ALOT of caterpillars. Nothing much can do with that but just brush them off. We would come back here again!

Lovely place to visit/stay during summer and early fall. Very big park with nice beaches, rocks, hiking and biking paths and different options to stay in. Plenty of drinking water supplies and convenient washrooms. Park is well maintained and staff is friendly and helpful. Convenient stores are right outside of the park with some food/ice supply and canoe/kayak rental options. Need to plan your visit ahead as sites are usually booked in far in advance.

One campsite was running a generator which is not allowed but I think the park rangers should supervise that. People should be conscious about the noise produced which is pollution too. Otherwise it would be perfect but it was good.

Killbear was our first camping experience and really wonderful. 3 nights and a whole lot of peaceful and amazing moments. A great way to disconnect from the city; the noisy roads and pollution. Sleeping in a tent at night was somewhat unusual and scary the first night but then the other two nights were wonderful. We were staying at the Lighthouse site and 10 feet from the lake. Will certainly go camping again.

This place is gorgeous. Words and pictures will do no justice. Not very far from GTA if you're looking for a spectacular view, fresh air, and lots of great natural swimming areas. You're guaranteed private time on beaches as there are plenty of them on the different campsites. Cliffs are beautiful. If you have a clear sky get your DSLR prepared for a stunning view of the MILKY WAY.

Loved our stay at Georgian Campground! We had an outhouse close by in good condition, campers around us were quiet, and the scenery was amazing. The only interaction we had with park staff was upon entering the park, and everyone was very friendly. Paddling in the southern bay area was nice as long as wind was low. Our canoe was able handle the waves when the weather changed, and the small bays provided some shelter. Looking forward to paddling the north side on our next visit.

Beautiful park. Signage in the campgrounds to direct to site numbers was poor. My picnic table was almost rotten through. Being a radio-free area (lighthouse) you would expect it to be quiet. Sadly not so. Loud people walking the campground until 11:30pm.

Stayed at the lighthouse point campgrounds, had an amazing weekend. The park is always clean, and friendly. The water is warmer than Wasaga beach, the sky is perfect for some casual star gazing. Everything in the park is a dedicated walk away, and the general store on site means you're never stuck for any reason. Don't ride in the bed of a pickup truck though.

We visited hoping for some cool day hikes, picturesque scenery, and some landscape and wildlife photo opportunities. What we found was a massive commercial campground and little else Though the scenery is nice, this is a commercial campground primarily. Hikes are really short and not overly interesting. We did see some deer, and the sunsets over Georgian Bay are gorgeous........if you can see over the literally hundreds of people crowding the shore. Likely a great spot to car camp with an RV and a boat, but everything else seems like an afterthought. If you are looking for nature Algonquin or Killarney are both superior options.

Gem of a park. Beautiful and plentiful camping spots. Nearly 500+. Long sandy beach with very few people. You could lie on sand, have waves crashing literally I to your ears. Beautiful clean Georgian Bay waters. Multiple trails. Would require multiple trips to enjoy the whole park. Sitting on giant rock outcrops and watching sails boats, canoes, kayaks going by is mesmerizing. Camp sites are just few yards from the water line. A must for anyone who wants to enjoy uncrowded nature.

One of the best parks. Lot of campgrounds and each one has its own beach! Good swim sections on each and clean. Book early and stay long. This park is awesome! You will see some wild life...be smart and stay out of their way. If you get an urge to take a pic of wildlife, please just google for it. You will find way better pics online ????

Very nice, great views of the lake. Campsites were excellent. Would have been 5 stars if all services had been available but covid meant no showers but no price reduction. Too expensive when compared to private campgrounds. Not sure the scenery, etc were worth the price. Ontario Provincial parks are very overpriced now

Killbear is our annual family vacation place. It's our little paradise. Aside from the early caterpillars and some rain, always a great time. Only negative is trying to get a site. Getting worse every year.☹️

Awesome campground for sure. Beautiful views of the lake, very quiet and peaceful. Nice sunsets. Many beaches and doesnt get too crowded. Our campsite was particularly invaded by gypsy moth caterpillars so that was a bit stressful. But all in all it is a great campground and will surely be visiting again.

First time going with my family and roughly enjoyed my trip , the drive going was relaxing but long , well worth it . So comforting and so chilled out just what my body and mind needed some fresh air, beautiful scenery, hot gorgeous day perfect for a body tan . Clean drinking water , the facilities were clean which is always a positive. Will be back soon .A+ in my books .

Amazing park! It's big so it has a lot of trails and beaches to explore. There are amazing views from any point facing the lake. Our campsite was pretty big and not too close to others. We visited on a long weekend and even though the park was full it did not feel crowded at all. There are lso many washrooms available at any point which is convenient. The only small thing was the the park layout is a little confusing, I think more directional signs would be helpful.

Amazing place for camping. I loved everything in this place. The beach is amazing, the campground is also pretty quiet with a lot o tree. All the washroom have flush toilet and they are very well maintained. It is definitely one of the best Provincial Parks of Ontario.

Lovely provincial park, truly lovely. Downside is people have learned to game the booking sysrem for the best sites, milliseconds before regular tech engages. Good luck getting a site on a non quarantine summer year

We were a bunch of guys spending the weekend. The campsite is great, the hike is medium difficulty but the view at the end is great. The beach is one of the cleanest I've been to the water was so refreshing is September. The only part is that other campers are right next of us and it seemed too close and our chats and laughs were not welcome. I prefer to have other campers slightly further not to annoy anyone. Bathrooms were clean. Showers were available with a 5 mins walk. I wish bathrooms had a motion sensinh light but they didn't have any light at all.

Great provincial park. Lots of trails that are well maintained. The staff are great, washrooms are clean and updated. Sites are well maintained and easy to navigate. My wife and I spent a weekend here in late October and the fall colours were amazing. Looking forward to returning to the park again.

The trails are family friendly and the views from the lookout points are beautiful. Specifically, the recreational trail is easy enough for young kids; some dismounting of bike required along certain portions though.

Very large park. If you like lots of people on a beach then the main beach is for you. Although many sneaky little private beaches can be found along the waterfront. The campsites offer a variety of private , semi private, or no privacy. Overall a very nice park.

Camp site was a bit wet after 4 full days of rain but this park is well worth a bit of mud. The hiking trails and biking trails are well marked and maintained. Park staff is helpful and wanting to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Fantastic park. Really great beach for kids and little ponds for catching frogs or fish. Campsites are pretty opened especially Killcoursie where we stayed. Site 64 is not a premium site but right by a great little beach !! Will definitely be back !!

The site was fairly large (we fit two tents and a large jeep). We were surrounded on three sides by forestry and some marsh-like pits, even between other sites, which worked because it created a decent illusion of privacy. Our view was amazing. We didn't have to go to the beach because we were near a rock shelf and the water was clear, so we could go swimming. Since we had a dog, this worked out well. The wood was pretty damp all the way though, so the fire was difficult to get going and difficult to keep alive. But it's manageable. Enough drinking water taps around for refilling, not too far. Outhouses are as expected, but clean and pretty much bug-spider-free. Overall, a very good park for glamping.

First time visiting Killbear and I absolutely loved it. The beaches were great with beautiful sand. The trails were memorable with stunning views of the Georgian Bay. The lighthouse is worth the little view, and the beach by the lighthouse may be small but it is super quaint and reminds me of a small hidden beach in Europe. Only a couple things I would change and would affect mainly overnight campers. It's a bit disappointing that you have to leave the park to buy ice. You would think the park would sell ice and firewood, but for ice you actually have to leave the park. Although, if it weren't for the ice I would have never seen the beautiful killbear store just outside the park which I highly recommend and think its worth the visit. The basement has beautiful decor for cottages. The caterpillar situation at killbear was pretty bad and most of the campsites were bare with little to no leaves left, making the campground a bit more open than I would prefer. Happy Camping!

Huge park with many nice hiking trails. Lake swimming here is usually delightful. Sometimes hard to book a camping spot here. Increasing the size of the park would be amazing. Also encouraging more wildlife to be in the area would be interesting. Fun place to go camping.

Beautiful area, but it is quite a way off the higway..very remote..so make sure to come prepared because the closest city is parry sound 30 mins away.. and the 2 general stores are closed by 4pm. There are lots of hiking trails to walk on and we even saw a couple of deer. We stayed in the Kilcoursie campground and One of the biggest let downs for us was that the only dog beach they have is quite a ways from the campgrounds and u have to hike to it on a trail. 9/10 people who go camping bring their dog(s) but yet they are not allowed on the long sandy beach. It is apparently a $115 fine if you are caught with a dog on the beach. So If they would just make a small portion of the beach available for dogs closer to the campgrounds (like most other campgrounds do), it would be so much better. Another reason why i only gave three stars is because some of the staff we encountered here were a bit rude . It is a very beautiful area and well maintained campground, there were just a few disappointments. Overall we enjoyed our stay and there were virtually no bugs this time of year.

Really great campgrounds with amazing beaches, biking trails and even a couple of their own hiking trails. Only reason for them not getting 5 stars is they only sell wood that seems like it has been sitting in the rain for 2 weeks straight. It doesn't take much to tarp the wood that isn't sold, but they obviously do not care and keep it out in the rain and at $9/bag its hard to swallow. Great fireplace with a grill built in and friendly gate staff.

One of the best provincial parks around. Scenery and layout is second to none. There's a hiking/biking trail that follows the main drive in. Great way to get some exercise and see wildlife in their natural environment, all at the same time. Lots of access to the water if swimming is in your plans. Definately worth the drive no matter where you're coming from.

Suprisingly busier then expected in covid times, lots of pets roaming about. Typically we do back country camping, so headlights and mass people, were not use too. Other then that, gorgeous scenery (of course), love Georgian Bay. Rangers are doing their best to keep things right and clean, hats off to them.

My favourite provincial park in Northern Ontario. We have been a few times and I have such fond memories. Beautiful area, nice hiking and biking opportunities. We had close encounters with a rattlesnake and a small black bear, so I would definitely suggest using caution when exploring. Really hope to go back again soon. Would highly recommend.

NO! Would give it less than a star if I could. Campsites too close together, trees dying in between, bathrooms clean. Lake nice but racing boats etc make it impossible to swim. Sitting here Saturday night and it's loud. Nope, would not recommend

We had a really great weekend there and I wish we had stayed longer. The park facilities are great - even the "outhouse" had a flush toilet and a sink. We stayed in the Blind Bay campground. It was nice and we'll maintained, but lacked any tree cover so there's literally no privacy/sound barrier. Otherwise there are a couple secret rock beaches that are great for some quiet. The Killbear store just outside the park was great too - helpful staff. There's lots to do at the park - we mostly canoes. A warning for first time or beginner canoe peeps: the big boaters really mess up the water, so be prepared for some less than smooth sailing. Otherwise a really great time. Would go back again for sure!

This park is huge and very clean. The beaches are raked and the washrooms are kept clean. The only draw back we had on our trip was alot of the electrical site were closed and the water had to be boiled before use. Other then that we had a great time. The sunsets can't be beat.

40 years attending ths park. Disappointed once again. For a park that is at half capacity many maintenance items could have been addressed. Broken railings, fresh coat of paint here and there. Cleanliness dependent on which crew happens by. Disrespectful and inconsiderate campers are to blame but when cleaning crews step over trash and leave trash after so called cleaning it's annoying. Park fees are ever increasing with little or nothing to show for it. Another boil water advisory. Water filtration issues unaddressed? Missing the MNR. Never been the same since Ontario Parks took over.

This park has the most beautiful beaches I've seen in Ontario. There are enough they are never crowded. Interestingly this in the heart of rattle snake country but we never saw one. We had deer walk through the back of our campsite three of the nights we were there and one porcupine! I've never been so close. We also saw a bear just outside the park.

One of the best parks for tenting, walking, hiking, swimming, biking and any water craft. Parry Sound is a boat ride away. 6.0 km bike trail plus other biking areas even over the numerous large bedrock outcrops. Many sand beaches and a jumping rock cliff. Boat parking in the water for larger boats. Sunset Rock is great any time of day. Wonderful photo ops everywhere. Two stores just outside of the park. Explore Georgian Bay by boat from the park or a tour in town.

Was a beautiful park, so peaceful and relaxing with many beautiful paths for hiking. Washrooms were very clean and staff were always patrolling the park if you need anything. Our most disappointing experience was the so called Dog Beach, they had listed 2 of them on the website and a dog beach they were NOT... Many young families were unable to use them and like us took a chance and used the main beach in hope that no one complained and you weren't fined. They were hardly accessible & in the most remote and secluded parts of the park. Our dog is part of our family, like many other families, sadly we will not be returning to Killbear but will camp at other parks where dogs are included in the park experience and not an after thought.

Been going here since I was a child. Excellent campground with many activities and Parry sound not to far off if your ever in a pinch. Water level has been rising the last couple years so most of the sand beaches are getting smaller by the year.

What a lovely provincial park! Clean and great amenities for campers. Pleasantly surprised by the flush toilets near campsites. A lot of the camping sites have really unique landscape, some are next to giant rock walls, some have beautiful views of the water, some are on rocky surfaces near the forest, etc. This is expected since the entire park is very unique as it sits on the rocks that were once buried under glaciers. The hiking trails are short but very nice. Even after giant storms, the trails are very easy to complete, and the forest areas are fairly dry and walkable. There is a lot of fauna and you are guaranteed to see at least some deer or wild turkeys around.

This is probably my favourite provincial park after Algonquin. The park has been left to nature - its not all perfectly laid out and landscaped like some places. We have a great site (96) but next year might try to snag one of the gorgeous lake front sites. A few more trails would be great, but really its a nicely laid out and well taken care of campground. We are here in mid october and the leaves are just beautiful.

Camped for the first time here at lighthouse point. Neat & clean campsite. Extremely helpful staff. The beach was great & so are the trails. Took a pic of the famous tree. There are general stores nearby so you can anything easily. Will be coming again as it was one of the best experiences

For the last 7 years I've been camping in many provincial parks and this park is among my top 5 in Ontario. Park is big enough with a few nice trails for either hiking or biking. Georgian Bay is beautiful as usual. Nice sand beach for kids and alot of good campsites. Staff are great and the little park store has some essential things for campers including nice coffee! I would strongly recommend this park to everyone.

Amazing place to camp. In the 2021 season I was a little confused why they made their staff wear masks outside... Does not seem to be necessary, nor a decision driven by logic, nor do I think they're paying their staff enough to justify them breathing in their own CO2 instead of the fresh outdoors. So for that I'm a little cheesed. Killbear is beautiful though, been going for years.

Always love killbear. Great easy hike and great spots. I suggest checking out each beach at the different camp sites they all have something different to offer. Especially sunset rocks with the bent over tree by beaver dam beach.

One of the best camping sites I’ve been to. The camp site was easy to get to and the facilities were above board compared to some of the campsites I’ve been at. Tons of places to walk, swim. I also enjoyed cliff jumping Into the water. The cliffs are roughly 20-30 feet high.

Large, clean provincial park with your choice of rocky and sandy beaches to swim in the clear waters of Georgian Bay, trails leading to beautiful views of the lake, trees and rock, and friendly staff. My favourite hike was the Lighthouse Trail- it's very rocky but leads to really cool rocks, beautiful views and secluded swimming spots. Took off one star because the roads to different trails/ campsites should be better marked. We got lost quite a few times.

This is by far one of the most beautiful provincial parks in Ontario. Great sights and a ton of beaches so if one is busy you can always hop over to the next one. Stayed on site 717 for 4 nights which is close to the showers (which was unfortunately closed this week due to electrical issues) and walking distance to tiny blind bay beach.

Beautiful views. Great trails. Awesome beaches and cliffs for jumping. Washrooms were cleaned often. Just don't buy firewood from the park. Get it at either the Killbear mall or Detour store just outside the park.
