One of my favourite places to go. Very peaceful, good trails that lead to the lake.

Piyushi

Beautiful place. Make sure you walk to the lake through the park. Unbelievable sights at sunset. Bring sunflower seeds if you want to befriend the birds.

Summer or Winter, it's a gorgeous place to visit. It is in the city of Oshawa, near the waterfront. Getting off at Harmony is the best choice off the 401 highway. The walking paths and terrain are not difficult nor have a lot of alterations in grade, basically are flat, so not a difficult walk or hike. It's a great place though for scenery variation, there is forest, marsh and beach shoreline. Spring and Fall, the birds are plentiful. There are beautiful blossom and flowering bushes like rose hip, dogwood, etc. There is quite an expanse of the shoreline of Lake Ontario to walk along, a small rock layered beach, lots of beautiful drift wood pieces. It's worth the visit!

An amazing place for a peaceful trek any time of the day. The entrance to the trail is beyond the GM headquarters building. At the roundabout there is a road to the right which goes down to the reserve. There is parking at the end of the road. The natural beauty is mesmerizing. You hear the wonderful musical sounds of birds all along. We saw atleast 4 different trails which take you in different directions. Just choose any path and enjoy the natural beauty. The waterfront trail takes you down to the lake. Enjoy the waves crash at your feet, while you rest on the pebbled shore.

Well maintained series of trails that intersect at various points along a loop that brings you to Lake Ontario and through the various marshes. You could easily spend a day walking around exploring the various paths and trails in the area. Love this hidden hiking spot.

Beautiful mother nature at its best. Walking trails, wildlife, flora and fauna. Best of all...a beautiful sandy clean beachline. Family oriented.

It's a beautiful place alongside the lake to walk on trails or use bikes. People also feed the birds especially a fun activity for kids to enjoy wildlife activities.

Wonderful place. Great trails to get back to nature and out of city. Nice surprise ending up on the beach. So beautiful.

Lots of trails. Accessible path with braille signage. Fishing and quiet bay for canoeing or kayaking. Lots of birds. No dogs allowed.

Leola Durant Looking For Eden

A very quiet place ....or it use to be quiet before COVID19. Still a nice place to visit and see wildlife and wildflowers.

Last weekend I had a nice hike (about two and half hours) with my family in here. I parked my car at the GM lot and walked along the shore all the to the Darlington Provincial Park beside it. The trail was so quite and I barely saw other hikers. There were too much green seaweed in the water of Lake Ontario, but it did not brother me too much as I was not here for swimming. The ev charging station in the parking lot was not working that day, and I guess an employee or membership card was required for initiate the charging.

Beautiful place to get away from it all. Lots of garbage cans, great mix of wildlife, good walking trails, lake Ontario... It's just a great mix of everything!

A lovely getaway. The only downside is you can always kind of hear the din of car noise off the 401 in most of the reserve other than by the shores of the McLaughlin Bay.

Peter Wong

During our last visit in early June we can listen to a lot of ???? singing and there is also a lot of plates posting the name of plants and trees as well as some local history.

Who would have imagined this gem of a nature sanctuary lies behind GM factory in Oshawa. Its simply amazing. Just apply your bug spray b4 hand as the mosquitoes there are simply wild and persistent. Between me and my wife, we got bit close to a hundred times in 1 hour. Also dogsvare not allowed inside. So please don't bring your pooch.

Laura Barrett

Great place with various trails for a quick or more extensive nature walk. The path with plaques and ropes set up in braille was very nice to see for those with visual impairments. Many birds and water animals to explore.
