Although the weather was overcast it was still nice to spend an hour wandering the park, from the beach to the museum to the lookout point further up. There were even still flowers blooming despite being so late in the season.
Nice beach for summer vacation. Peaceful Atmosphere . Calms my mind when i am here. pier view is beautiful.
My daughter and I brought our chairs & towels to enjoy an afternoon at the beach, the only time so far this summer I was cold, it was cloudy then it started to spit rain lol. The sun did eventually came out and warmed up and was truly a lovely afternoon. I think Oshawa should invest in lots of nice white clean sand. It's kind of gross to put my bare feet on, just saying!
A beautiful place to go and enjoy. Very clean, people is amazing, sightseeing is lovely. ☀️????????
The playground is huge and tons of fun! You can bbq and have party in the west end. You can play volleyball and some water sports in the east end.
Wow! I didn't know this gem of a park was here in Durham. Simply amazing. There is a spot here that every man, woman and child could enjoy, from a bar with an outdoor patio, to a splash park and dry park for toddlers to teens, and beach, trails, and picnic areas for all to enjoy. A beautiful environment.
Beach is open. A bit windy in April. Orange fence is to keep sand on beach, not stop people cause there is multiple entrances. Kids park under renovation. Snack bar with hamburger and ice cream open. Closest clean beach near Toronto I could find.
Beautiful beach and parks.. Can be crowded. If you go late on holidays or weekend you are not going to find a parking space. No BBQ allowed on the beach side. Food vendors are there. Some big chains deliver food there. Especially pizza pizza.
Good beach for kids and family water has a lot of algae tough
Love this place. Beach, play area and just an overall awesome spot for walking and enjoying the view
We didn't go down to the beach, but the play area for kids is great. Even on a Saturday morning it wasn't too busy, and the families there were great about sharing the equipment. Our daughter loved being able to go down the slide herself without us having to catch her because it went right to the soft asphalt. Our son loves the big climbing tower that has a tube slide as well as the zipline and ropes.
This is best place in Durham. New play grounds for kids .they put zipline for kids. biking. Walking trails. Nice clean water Good for family gathering
Really nice area. Lots of parking, and lots of place to sit and enjoy the day. Very busy but it was a Sat when I visited. Nice splash pad, and new playground structure. Beach area with lifeguards, but I didn't go down to see but it looked decent.
Lovely little beach, perfect for a warm day. My son loves building sand castles here. An ice cream truck can often be found parked nearby. Parking is free, but on weekends, you may not find parking near the beach.
They can have a better beach. Great place for kids for family picnic
Large park with beach beaches to have a bite to eat lager playground with splash pad for the kids fishing right before you enter the park washrooms are open to 6pm. I go there to walk my dogs ???? often
Don’t even bother going there beach smells like AF. And the water is so dirty. And of course it was still so busy and ppl were swimming. They got a new playground and splash pod area which is nice but again too crowded. Best would be to go early in the morning or around 8-9pm.
The new park is great! My kids couldn't get enough playing there, lots of different things for the kids to do. Splash pad it nice and big and has a spot for all ages. The Jube snack bar always has good music playing and is good for a snack or ice cream. Lots of tables with shade and places to sit or lay down a picnic blanket.
Beautiful place to be . A nice splash pad , park and a zip line thing for the kids . Washrooms ="Johnny to go" .finding Parking was a pain but eventually got one as I got there towards the evening . It was packed . Overall great experience . Pretty cool ship that was displayed there -
One of the most beautiful Parks in Canada
Very big park with multiple baseball diamonds, bike path, access to Lake Ontario, and lots of grassy areas.
As a child I remember coming here and wow have they ever upgraded it. The water park is amazing for kids of all ages, the historical houses are still standing, lots of walking trails (and picnic tables) for gatherings. Thanks for the memories :)
Very beautiful and scenic place with multiple attraction like nice beaches, museum, Gazebo, walkways among the park & sparkling fountain for children to enjoy during day.
We come here atleast twice a week , always clean . Beautiful view . Occasionally water get a lot of bird feathers , but it’s one of the cleaner water I’ve been in.
Always a calm place to visit. Best place to go there during summers for Barbeque, running, swimming or doing fun activities. The best place to visit in the park when you are in Oshawa and when you have kids, they will enjoy it as the park offers fun rides for kids as well. Hope you will enjoy it!
Excellent variety of activities, including a splash pad, zip line, and dual playgrounds (younger and older age groups). There is also beach access with an on duty life guard, several gazebos and various amenities. It can get crowded, but that's true for most parks in the summer.
Always enjoy a walk at Lakeview. Great rides for younger kids. Pier is quite bracing in a fall breeze when the waves crash up the harbour entrance.
I loved it. Nice beach with a pier to walk on. Perfect sandy spot for swimming. Water park, 3 different play structures for the kids and lots of picnic space with benches. You would spend the whole day there.
Nice clean, beautiful and well kept landscape. Perfect for family picnics, big enough for games and loads of fun. Quite busy during the summer months as well however ample space for lots of people.
Fun place especially for kids. Was too crowded.
Awesome beach which is long and very family friendly. Some patches are little dirty but the sand is awesome.
For being a beach, you can people watch, or go visit the historical buildings on site that have signs explaining the history of each. I also went into the museum that had a wide variety of items for sale and look at. We spent a while here and after we went across the street to Tommy's and had lunch.
Excellent park, not too rammed, lots of parking, snacks/drinks around
Nice, quiet and well maintained grounds and facilities. New Waterpark just got completed (June 2021) - hope it will be open this year for the kids!
Lakeview park beach in Oshawa is an all weather wonder with a family friendly vibe. It's ideal for a photowalk, evening stroll, and just musing near the clear water. An added bonus is to go there and experience the freezing winds and icy waters. The crowd is extremely less on odd days and weekends, so if solitude and uninterrupted photowalk is all you seek, opt for an odd day. The beach also has a huge park and the place has an old charm with a museums nearby. Also, there's a huge park nearby which tuns into a snow sports arena after a good snow day (or a snow storm)
A quiet and fun place for friends and family. A huge playground and water park to keep the kids busy.
Clean and shallow water, lifeguard on duty, not too busy.
Beautiful view of Lake Ontario . A way to relax and escape for most offers a refuge in the busy life
Sandy beach, well maintained soccer field, a scenic view on the pathway around the park makes for a great family day. Plenty of shade around the park for a picnic. There’s also some rocks and fallen trees to one corner of the park that you can climb if you seek some adventure.
A beautiful sandy beach near Oshawa for a afternoon/evening strolls with family and friends. Lake Ontario here is pretty quite and breezes are comforting if you're into calm ambience. Plenty space for dog walking and family picnic. Huge free parking spaces everywhere. Local food shop also open after 11am on weekends so nothing to worry about quick food grabs.
Great place..Lots of parking..
Lakeview Park Beach is a sandy beach located on the shore of Lake Ontario within Lakeview Park and is a popular destination offering museums, picnic areas, playgrounds, sports fields, and a waterfront pier.
Amazing location for a day out with friends and/or family. The name exactly aligns with the features of the park. Well maintained gardens which offers breathtaking view of the lake. It is a clean swimming beach ⛱ where one can ????♂️ and have sunbath. And to top it all the newly renovated kids play area with splash pad is an exciting new addition to this already beautiful location especially for the families!
Beautiful place to walk along the beach and down the peir. Multiple picnic sites, restaurant and a gorgeous playground for the children. Just a beautiful place to be!
This is a very big park with lots of sitting spaces. It has multiple slides and swings for kids to play. My 5 years old really enjoyed this park. Will definitely recommend!
There are nice big playgrounds and a great splash pad. The beach is also right there and the water is clean enough to sleep in. Hopefully the washrooms will be open after the pandemic because the porta-potties are the only negative of this park.
Very beautiful little beach with long walking trail alongside... New cool fountains and slides for kids have made things very lively in hot summer making it more desirable than the other neighborhood beaches. Museum/Heritage houses adds further to the character intensifying natural and historic beauty. Could have a wider viewpoint parking, hope city will make improvements to make this beautiful place even more beautiful.
Very nice area to walk. No washrooms. “Johnny‘S are disgusting. As a man I could use them. Not suitable for women or children.
Spent an hour with family on Victoria Day, it was a bit crowded, nice to look at the lake and breathe fresh air. Plenty of free parking, well managed by the Oshwa City.
Great for walks dog picnics there a beach, playground, zip line new playground
It has changed a lot since I was there last- added more benches for parents while the kids play in the large playground/splashpad and it is also much cleaner than before
It was great. Very nice place for swimming with life guards keeping an eye on everyone. Beach is clean. Lots of shade and benches for picnics. Nice play area for kids to play as well
Amazing park for kids to enjoy this summer in Durham region
closer to my place...a good place to do walking on sunny days with lake simcoe's beautiful view. it has children's park as well. this maybe closed for winter already. got here today for a mobile booster shot of covid-19.
Kids loved the play area, enjoyed the lake chilling on the rocks. Seeing the museum of old house, the park did remind me of St James park (central London, UK) with the classic benches and old trees
The beach takes on different colors at different times of the day. The best thing is the sound that waves make while hitting the coast.
Beautiful park with a fine sandy beach. Plenty of free parking spaces, but still difficult to find a spot during weekends. Good place for family picnics or gathering. During this COVID-19, some washrooms are closed. They also ask your postal codes while entering the beach area.
Nice little beach it's not very big but at the same time it's not over crowded , sand is good, water is clean. Planty of parking spots, there is also huge park for kids with so many activities. There is also a restaurant alongside kids park, where you can get ice-cream, fries pop etc.
Best beach for kids all round. We visited last Thursday and it was not too crowdy. There is a splashpad for kids to extend the fun, and sufficient picnic areas. Did I mention the Playgtound with zipline and lush grass? A little tip: Come prepared to spend the whole day, as you might not want to leave ????...
Beautiful sandy beach. Good for swimming. Ontario lake is unpredictable though. Sometimes it's clean but super cold. Other times it's warmer but full of weeds. Got ships docked on the side. Good for photos.
Love it! 3 in one place , kids park , splash pad plus beach couldn't ask for more
What a great little beach in Oshawa. It was fairly crowded with families mostly enjoying themselves. Parking here is free for 4 hours though it could be a problem to find space at times. They do have another Parking area at the park area which is before you hit the beach. Toilets are available on location in abundance - its not the cleanest though. These are those movable ones found in beach areas. So it's still a big bonus having them. There is an icecream truck but takes cash only. Lifeguards are on the beach and I saw 2 on duty. There are waves crashing the shores and the water was really cold. A great place to spend hours on the weekend with no cost involved.
Nice place. Park, beach, harbour. If you are hungry there is a bbq place.
What a Wonderful place... Late night winter walks are just awesome... And if you visit in summer days than its awesome picnic spot
Beautiful scenery of Lakeview Park in Oshawa Ontario it was worth going ????????
A fun and relaxing place to take your family. Bring chairs or a blanket as you can sit in the shade of the trees and enjoy the breeze. Lots of things to entertain young kids and running and biking trails for the older kids
Had a great day at the beach with the boys. They enjoyed themselves. Lots of adventure to be found. Park is under construction, but looks like it will be awesome
Great time out with the fam. However, the black flies were biting & especially a menace; so we didn't stay too long in the water. The kids enjoyed the newly designed park. If you do go be sure to take the green aerosol deep woods repellent the more powerful one that lasts 8 hours.
Top class playing area for kids. Splash pads, swings, rope way, sliding and beach for swimming also. No bbq allowed there.
Brand new kids play area. Best of the best kids swing sets.. for all ages. Super clean site too. They opened it recently after almost one and a half year of renovations. Picnic tables lots of grassy areas with a beach view. Note: it gets quite busy even during the weekdays so plan ahead for a 10 minute parking spot search. 10/10 if you want to enjoy outdoors family time in oshawa.
