This is a beautiful city park that runs along the lakeshore and is the former site of Camp X. There isn't much out there for kids and the only options for parking are on the side of the road, which can be hazardous due to it being in an …

Nothing here but grass.

Rob Evans

Maintained park, quiet setting given its location. Recently improved walking path, Only down side is that it doesn't have a dedicated place to park a vehicle.

Benjamin Palmer

Great walk. Heard the waves lapping the shore. Lots of nature.

The original site of Camp X which was a WWII training facility for Spies from 1941-1946 lead by a man known as “Intrepid” (Sir William Stephenson). It was interesting to learn about the history of the site. The downside is there is no parking in the area.

Chris Beckett

I wish some of the buildings were here or they could create a museum here instead of the Oshawa Airport.

Canada’s WWII history is portrayed here. Amazing stories emanated from Camp X including Ian Fleming's James Bond.

It has a lot of historic significance to the world, regarding WWII, but unfortunately nothing much has been done. Google search it. Other than a few flags and a small wall/monument on site, very little else remains.

Bill Williams

Hard to find but a great Memorial

It once was a nice place to go. Unfortunately with all the damage to the banks and closed access to the water it looks pretty trashy

It's a pretty memorial. There's nothing else in the park, but there are some wonderful walking/biking trails near it along the waterfront.

My late father was a Capt. In the signal corps, I used to take him to Camp X for lunch. Some of my favorite memories of my dad was taking him there and having our Arby's lunch while we imagined what went on there during the war. I attend every Remembrance day ceremony there, it's always a good day when I have these memories!!

Crystal Keiller-Vardy

Wish there was more informational boards but it is a nice spot. Close to water and small but nice trail. Monument is interesting.

As part of Whitby's "Doors Open" day, Lynn Phillip Hodgson (historian & author) was present to give some insight & answer questions. Enjoyed being there and learning more about Canada's part in such an historic time.
