Fun place to visit some amazing cars to see
It was cool to see old cars and to see what made the cars that we have today
Great selection for cars that hold historical value.
My father in law loved it ! Thanks for it
Excellent guide! Beautiful automobiles but severely cramped showroom. Restorations & renovations continue.
Very impressive car collection indeed. Its a must-see if you love car
A wonderful hidden gem of a museum. A great place to visit at any time, but in the midst of a pandemic, if you time it right, you can get the whole place to yourself. Outstanding!
Excellent display and tour guide. Good hour or 2 of car history. Rumors of mSsive expansion in works.
Did my volunteer hours for high school here! Helped them with renovations! If in the GTA, this is definitely a gem to stop by and see!
Charming place with a ton of heart and history. Very great place to take a wee one. With so many different styles and colors, there's bound to be a few favorites that may even surprise you
Awesome museum! So much history. Prices are reasonable and guides are friendly and helpful!
Always great to see well kept vintage cars. Also historical articles posted all around helps give perspective.
Layout could use improvement.
This place is a hidden gem for any car enthusiast
A treasure in downtown Oshawa. If you love old classic cars this is definitely a must visit
best old cars show
Very neat museum. Good atmosphere.
Such a good volunteers team, the guy who was the guide really knows his stuff ! It was a wonderful experience!!!
The experience was outstanding with lots of history of the cars in the museum. Time flew by so quick for my visit. I recommend going in this place with 3-4 hours so you get a full experience. If you like history and cars, it's the place to spend your time and learn.
Great spot to bring the kids.
This place is a treasure trove for the automobile enthusiast. Kids love it too! We've visited three times now ????
Wow!! Very nice collection of beauties. So many well maintained old years cars. People are super friendly and knowledgeable. I totally recommend to anyone to visit it.
Amazing place, memory lane for me and my family
Son loved it
Heroes run this place. It's obvious that this place runs on a limited budget, but somehow they manage to provide a worthy little museum. Stuffed full of interesting cars.
Always Have A Great Time! Awesome Cars Plus Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff and Volunteers!
Excellent examples of Canadian made vehicles as well as many others of other origins. A few hours can be well spent taking in the collection and learning of Canada's relationship with automotive production.
It was fun I went with my father me and him love cars and me and him were the only ones there so it was nice i suggest you go there
The cars were such a delight to see and be so close to. The staff were very friendly and nice to our two young boys.
Lots of great old cars... How many cars is in it, it should be at least twice the size it is now...
The place smelled like an animal barn. From the outside it looks moderate sized but in fact it is much smaller on the inside. The place lacks funding i guess, it resembles more like a garage for old vehicles than a museum. There are a lot of written content but presentation of the facts are really poor. There are lots that could be done, but for my money 12$ is too much for what was inside.
What a great way to spend some time with family or friends! This museum is such a nice throwback to cars that were made even before I was born. The building is also the original 1929 building (a former Chevy dealership), so it sets a great atmosphere whem you walk in. Also, very nice staff who are always there for assistance.
Great variety of historical vehicles.
Small but very well maintained
Interesting place...i would store these cars a lot better then they have! The smell in the place is interesting...takes you back in time real well ;)
Great museum packed with interesting and rare pieces and lots of friendly staff.
Bigger than it looks from the outside. Some cool pieces on display. Would be nice if they offered a guided tour/ commentary.
Had great time
Super friendly staff. Amazing cars
This is an amazing place to take your kids or going on your own and learning about Canadian Autombole industry. Workers are communicative and friendly
Lots of cars, great history here.
The museum is well over 50 years utilizing a building about 100 years. A wonderful collections of historic vehicles with plenty of information posted / displayed for you to learn so much on the automotive history. Definitely a place to visit for families with older children.
Our trip to the Automotive Museum included the automotive history of Oshawa before the museum tour. Absolutely loved it. Great guide who was marvelous with his knowledge both of the history of Oshawa & the vehicles. There are about 90 in the collection ranging from a perfectly preserved 1908 McLaughlin Buick to a Bricklin to a lovely looking 1963 DeLorean. A mini Herbie Volkswagen & Lightning McQueen. And many more beautiful cars. Many enjoyable hours could be spent there by anyone who has the slightest interest in cars. A fan will be impressed.!!
Nice place to visit every 10 yrs, it never changes, refreshing. First visit was 65, Aqua Car was in same spot. What happen to power steering display.
Great place, very interesting, kids had great time!
Went with my boyfriend and had a great time. They had maps of the museum available in English and French
Pretty cool actually
The cars are absolute beauties. However, the space is cramped. It's sad to see vintage automobiles cramped so close to each other and at odd angles.
How cool to see all those old cars! This place is a hidden gem.
The four of us toured the museum. The vehicles are close together in some areas as others are in full view. The older building give it an old-time warehouse appeal. Very nice vehicles and I like the barn find display of the 1930 Marquette. There are also a number of metal signs from back in the day. The staff were friendly and one fellow and I got into a good conversation.
Very interesting cars, the building fits showing staging cars. See historic Canadian and International cars. Learn about the history of car manufacturering in Canada.
This museum was a lot of fun! It's not very big and very affordable. My wife and I ended up staying for 3+ hours and our tour guide was super nice and very well informed. You can really tell these people know and love their automotive history! Must see in Oshawa.
(Translated) Museum interesting enough on Nords Americans and especially Canadians. (Original) Musée assez intéressant sur les véhicules Nords Américains et notamment Canadiens.
Great experience, it's nice to know that there are organizations trying to preserve our history. I took my 12 and 14 year old girls and they found it interesting.
Old building under restoration some one of a kind vehicles there.
(Translated) Beautiful, very well cared for old cars. Visiting this museum is pure pleasure. Moments spent in this museum will be remembered for a long time with my family. A great place to get acquainted with the history of motorization.
If your in Oshawa this is a place to see. Doesn't take a lot of time to go through but it has many classic cars to see and take pictures of. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Amazing place!????????????
Cool place to be.
I visit as often as I can. It has to of my top 3 pre war cars, the Bugatti Type 37 and Alfa 6c.
Many classic old cars are here .Worth to see !
Excellent exhibition. They even have one car you can go in.
Fun to see the cars.
Good collection. Best place to see original Canadian auto manufacturers of the pre Big3 era. Some real gems in there. Well documented and displayed. Some great stories too.
It is an interesting exposition but we would miss a lot of interesting information and historical facts about the cars in the museum if we did not join a guided tour. Unfortunately there is no sufficient room for all the cars and one simply cannot get closer to some of them. The visitors need to schedule their visit ahead of time to be able to enter the museum.
There are a good curator. Good experience
Nice little museum in the heart of oshawa. Some Canadian only models and some other interesting rare cars. Worth the money.
Awesome museum with an amazing collection of cars
Our tour guide was great. Wolf had tons of knowledge about the history of the vehicles and their construction, and interesting stories about the different cars. He was patient with all of my child's questions too!
Very nice collection of cars. Museum should have bigger place for better display
Always a fun place to visit and explore Canadian automotive history.
You can feel the timeless effect of the old cars, almost as if you're in a time machine. I'm amazed with the history preserved in the museum, although the place is quite small. I hope in the future they get to expand more because some cars were stored at the back and you couldn't really see their beauty. The museum is definitely one of the gems in Oshawa. It's a must-see for everyone. I'm more glad my dad enjoyed the place though. :)
Nice place to see once
A great place to visit and relive some of the historical vehicles that have brought us to the present.
Great look at automotive history
Fascinating display of cars, I especially loved all the ones made in Canada.
Car enthusiast's heaven.
Nice collection of vintage cars, in a small space but nicely maintained. Friendly staff.
Great variety of interesting cars. Non-profit.
Great collection of cars! The space is tight but intimate. Good explanations and stories if you take the time to read them. The museum desperately needs a new, larger space. It’s a shame because the collection is impressive. I imagine that they either have a lot of other vehicles in storage elsewhere or have missed many opportunities because they didn’t have the space. Given the incredible car history in Oshawa they definitely deserve more support from government.
Really cool museum with a huge variety of cars considering the size of the location. You can get a groupon sometimes and that makes it pretty hard to pass up. If you're in the area I would definitely reccomend popping in for a look around. Also they have a scale model of Lighting McQueen from the Cars movies there temporarily, great if you have kids that are a fan of the movies.
The volunteers and staff here do an excellent job, they can answer pretty much any question you may have about their automobiles! Very good for their location limitations. So many cars, that my son and I go every 6 weeks or so, just to learn about more cars. And of course, check out the periodic attraction / event
Very nice collection with a vast amount of cars/trucks/movie cars. Definitely a place to check out. Staff are lovely
A 'Must See' for everyone. A true piece of Canadian History. The history of the building is amazing and the staff here are full of knowledge and interesting bits of information on the cars. I found the layout to be perfectly designed for great viewing and the description of each car to be extremely informative. The cars are incredible and very rare. Some I have never heard of. It was a history lesson as well as a pleasure to see this impressive collection. Thanks to the staff there for answering all my questions.
(Translated) Beautiful vehicles, but the building is ill-suited for this kind of museum. Some vehicles are difficult to observe because they are behind others. (Original) Beaux véhicules, mais le bâtiment est mal adapté pour ce genre de musée. Certains véhicules sont difficile à observer parce qu’ils sont derrière d’autres.
Guide was very informative.
Great place staff knowledgeable and cheerful
An impressive number of cars are crammed into this two storey museum. Staff are friendly and enthusiastic. It would be nice to thin out some of the more mundane vehicles to make room for people to move around and get better views of each car.
A great museum for auto enthusiast to learn the history of automobiles. The admission is reasonable and great to bring kids to check it out.
This place is a dream for any car enthusiast that is in love with cars from the beginning of the car era to about the late 60's. The cars are well kept and the staff are so helpful and informative. I highly recommend this place!
Just little tight!! Great old car but tighty....
Came here just before lockdown. A great museum of history and some really rare vehicles. Admission was only $8 and I bought some items to take too. Would definitely come back.
Really cool place to see and learn history. Seems a little crammed.
Lots more vehicles than at first expected. Lots of Rolls. Good visit.
Historical facts about Canadian built classic cars kept in perfect condition
Awesome old cars to view
What an excellent depiction of Canadian Automobilia! Not just the cars and bikes on display., you can’t miss those invaluable details put up on those walls - great source of trivia! The icing on the cake is the Sunday morning (yep, exclusively on Sunday mornings) walk down the memory lanes. Very fun and interesting- let’s you in on a lot about the McLaughlins and automotive scene at Oshawa through the decades if not centuries. I’d certainly recommend you take this trip - not only because it’s interesting, fun, informative - also because you don’t necessarily see the same vehicles in the same manner when you visit this place after a while - they have more vehicles than they can exhibit - so, they keep mixing things up. When we visited last Sunday, they had the McLaughlin model F on display along with Disney’s lightning McQueen and the fastest Bugatti there once was - that drove particular attention. There’s a nice lil gift shop where you can pick up some memorabilia, which again, isn’t for profit and helps maintain the museum - albeit by providing you something to remember them by at a reasonable price (unlike most other museums or places of attraction)
Shockingly large collection of cars. Learned so much about past car manufacturers that I didn't know had existed. A true gem in Durham.
Staff are knowledgeable about the history of their collection and they are making substantial improvements to the facility
I've never been in there till today, I recommend going to the upper half as it's all Canadian made cars! Just awesome for history of cars
Great collection of automotive history, prices for entry a little high but we definitely enjoyed our visit.
The tour guide was great and there was a lot of interesting cars. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He definitely taught us new things we didn't know before going. I had been before and it was great but, it is even better with a guide! Had a great time and definitely suggest for fun days out!
Great experience VERY knowledgeable staff. Loved it
Really good quality/price for this 50+ cars museum. Happy with my visit!
I recommend at least going once a year to this museum! Not only does it teach you about the history of cars but the Canadian car companies that used to exist as well as very interesting historic facts. I went here using a Groupon with my family and enjoyed every moment of it. If you know anyone who loves cars especially rare very old cars (talking like 1920's) they will love this museum. Also they switch out their cars constantly so there is always a new car to see!
Such a fun day was had here for kids and old sages. A nice trip down memory lane. Keep this place open people ! THIS is how we teach the future about the past any why it is time to move forward.
Verry nice small-ish local museum to explore if you are in area. Lightning McQueen car is always a hit for smaller kids
Great value for the money
We're jealous, Oshawa! A fascinating and extensive collection of autos, without a lot of bells and whistles, which suffers only from a lack of sufficient space. Have you ever considered a satellite museum (pop-up, maybe) in Toronto?
Great to look around. Would have liked more of each decade represented.
Good place but very small. Lightning McQueen is the big attraction that they have
I honestly never heard about this place until I bumped into it on Groupon looking for places to take my family out for father's day. And now I am telling everybody about it! This place is packed to the brim with old fashioned cars that each have a story to tell! They also have a Lighting McQueen car in there that kids would love. I would definatley reccomend this place for car lovers and anyone that loves to learn the history about their town.
Very inexpensive : only 5$ to see antique cars in a building that used to be a garage in those days. Near the 401 Hway, it takes few minutes to get there. Great experience and many cars from 1906 to the sixties. Will visit again. « It's a must »
Hidden Gem!!!
Loved the old cars. I would have liked to see more cars. Collection is smaller than I expected.
Oshawa's treasure, right in our own back yard. A living history of the auto industry.
Amazing automotive museum with unique collection of vantage cars. Worth visiting especially with kids ????
Awesome museum most cars are as found some restored
(Translated) It is temporarily closed, and I look forward to opening it when I come next time. The beautiful Memorial Park is just across the street from the museum, which is worth a visit! (Original) 暂时的关闭,期待下次来的时候开放进入,博物馆过街就是漂亮的Memorial Park,值得一游!
You can enjoy an educational and historic visit
It was absolutely lovely! The building is an original car dealership when automobiles first showed up on the face of the planet. Built to hold the weight of cars on its second flood and includes a car elevator. Now the whole thing is a museum. This place really was a cool find. They have an amphibious car parked in just the right spot that you can see beneath it
Great collection...be sure to get a tour...this place is a hidden gem!
Love the cars and story around them, but the place needed a face lift
Very poorly displayed. A lot of nice car but we were not able to see them properly many cars were in a dark corner out of sight behind other cars.
This place exceeded my expectations. Don't let the perceived size of the building fool you, this is a very decently sized museum. If you like cars, you will love this place. If you aren't a car enthusiast, (like myself), you will still find a lot of the vehicles they have here.to be fascinating. I strongly encourage everybody to see this place at least once. You won't be disappointed! No spoilers: there are even some famous cars here that I was pleasantly surprised to find!
Great time
This museum is a hidden gem. Lots of really old cars, even our 2 1/2 year old grandson loved it and was asking to go again on the way home. A must see for everyone.
Friendly staff, great antique cars and trucks. Overall, a really fun family afternoon.
Nice spot. So many cars in such a small space. My son loved it.
Well worth the visit.
Great tours both indoor and outdoor for Canadian automotive history. Thank you!
Great place to enjoy some historical vehicles! Alot of fun and interesting facts! Colouring station for the kids. Had a great time taking my son there.
It's temporarily closed.
Great place to bring the kids! Super fun, informative and affordable
Worth a visit.
Very beautiful location. Went to this place with my family and it was an amazing time here. Museum at its own beauty. All the stuff was very precious and unique. I learnt many things about this historical place!
You and your kids will learn a lot, including the fact that electric cars were available at the very beginning of 20th century. You can also see one of the first snowmobiles. Check out the DeLorean, and find out how timing is important to promote an innovative idea.
I went to the museum, on a recommendation of my family. And I was not disappointed, there was a wide variety of automobiles from a variety of eras. I recommend checking out the second floor, it's were a lot of cool things are. The first floor has some interactive things for the children and you can, at the end of the trip, you can have a picture taken in an automobile.
Amazing museum to visit !!!
Always wanted to visit this wonderful museum and since we were in Oshawa today, with me having to do a Courier delivery, we decided to do so and visit. Are we ever glad we did. What a wonderful place. All these older cars brought us back to a time when life seemed much simpler and slower paced than it is today. Every single vehicle here had a story to tell and boy was it a great one. I will be back soon with my daughter since she is a Car buff as well. If I had more money, I would have purchased every magazine that was being offered for sale. Perhaps next time I visit, I will.
A lot of beautiful cars from various eras. Tons of history and you're able to get up close and see (but not touch) them. A fun visit, but I wish they had more.
Great place to visit, really cool kid cars
Great cars but small space! I wish they were exhibited in a more spacious location so people can see the cars from all angles
One of the attractive destinations in Oshawa
If you love cars than this place is great ????
There are some amazing and very rare cars in the Canadian Automotive Museum in Oshawa. As Canadians, we need to find a way to preserve these cars. The Bud McDougald Collection is one example of some of the incredible vehicles housed at the Canadian Automotive Museum including a1926 Isotta Fraschini, a 1928 Hispano Suiza, a 1931 Alfa Romeo 1750 and a 1926 Bugatti Type 37. As well there are several special Rolls Royces, a 1964 Amphicar, one of the last Deloreans made and several Canadian built cars dating back to McLaughlin Buicks, early Chevrolets and Fords and some rare Galt and Tudhope models. If you are looking for a fun way to spend a couple of hours, the Canadian Automotive Museum is an inexpensive way to entertain all those car and history buffs in the family.
I really liked the exhibition and highly recommend to visit it.
Cool cars. Great history lesson.
Rich with history!
Great selection of vehicles and we'll maintained. Very pushy on the donation venue though, with a box every ten feet or so. With a charge to enter, and not a cheap entry, should only have the donation box at the exit...
This is an incredibly cool place for every car enthusiast. And if you're not, you will be. A must see.
Awesome collection! I've been here twice and will definitely be back.
Truly an automotive wonderland with lots to see for all ages. There was a big celebration there yesterday for Family Day. Hagerty Insurance sponsored coloring books and balloon creations for the children. They were all very excited about see Lighting McQueen from the Disney movies Cars.
Awesome place for everyone
They have very good collection of old British and Canadian cars. But place is very congested and packed. Won't look like auto museum..!!
Nice experience and kids (who likes cars) would love the place. Very friendly staff :)
Interesting place ...
Really interesting cars with cool stories behind them.
Great place, needs to be in a bigger building. The displays were good, could have more information on some of the displays.
Great collection of cars. It could’ve been arranged a lot better. Some of the greatest cars like the Rolls Royce and Ford model T is all placed in an awkward way that you can’t take a good picture.
Cool vintage cars
A very interesting and educational experience. Exceeds your expectations!
Love seeing old cars, and learning some great Canadian history in the process. My kids loved seeing one of their favorite cars too. Lightning McQueen!
It was pretty good experience. Display of the history of cars in Oshawa, Toronto and cities around. Lots of cars. Lots of memories. 2.5 hours well spent. Nice staffs.
It's cute for a first date. Not a big museum at all. Pricy for what you get tho
They have many incredible cars, price is affordable and people working there is polite. The place is too small and yiu cannot enjoy every car at the exposition because they are not accessible, for instance I wish i could have seen better the firetruck.
Fantastic museum! Great exhibits and lots of history about Canada. Some very rare vehicles to see. Would definitely visit again and bring others.
It was amazing I got to see so many historical Cars fun for any age. It was cheap to just 5 dollars for youth. The whole trip was 45 dollars for me it was worth it!
It is a nice museum, but the customer service was wretched. We were actually shouted at by the girl at the desk when we asked a question about the 2 for 1 offer featured in a community guide. On entry she was adamant that there was no such thing, then when we showed her the offer she was so rude. Would never bring anyone else there from out of town after that experience.
So much fun, so beautiful, alot of gorgeous cars, and the staff are incredibly sweet. Please go!
Great place to see beautifull old cars!
History of the automobile is fascinating. Staff who fill in so many interesting things you never thought about. 1912 hybrid here.
Great time, cool history.
Very small place and crowded with cars so it makes you feel it's a storage more than a museum, I'm sure if they get a bigger place it will be nice, but if you're a fan of Lighting MacQueen it's the place to to ????
If you like old cars, this is a great way to spend some time.
Nice collection of cars from many decades. Don't visit in Winter. Mostly unheated space.
Great place, cool cars, good descriptions, amazing souvenirs, and there were even a few fun games at the entrance (matching games) there is also a kids table with colouring and puzzles for kids! Well done.
They have some beautiful examples of Canadian cars on exhibit. Bring on your camera!
Amazing place for those who are interested in the history of legendary cars like Rolls-Royce, Lightning McQueen, Kennedy, Ford T1, first electric cars, Bugatti, Bentley, etc. Definitely recommend!!!
Small yet packed with many awesome pieces. The Canadian exhibit was my favourite. A must see!!!
Awesome place to visit
Underrated spot! We decided to stop here as we were driving from Toronto to Quebec city, and we're glad we did. There are so many classic cars crammed into this building.
Very unique
Museum has a nice exhibition. Many cars which touch every moment of history since ~1850th to 1980th. Only one disadvantage - tight space. To some of cars you can't stay close, and can see them from the distance 3 meters
This museum is the awesome place that I visited yet because I am a great Car freak.though I like the Great collection by them.
Lots of cool cars. Nice employees who give tours and are very educational.
Great place to spend Family Day in the city of Oshawa. Lots of child friendly activities with sponsors like Hagerty providing totes and balloon animals. See Canadian Automotive history as well as some international examples all under one roof. Great place for unique photos. Enjoy.
A lot of cars for such a small building. If you like cars, got to go at least once in your lifetime The price is right.
It was gud
The museum was great experience with lots of history about the automotive industry in Canada. Too bad they did not have any corvettes.
You have to go here! The stories behind the cars are historic, funny, and heroic. Alexander Gates, CEO and curator, just knows each car inside and out, as does dedicated board member Gregory Johnston. I encourage you to drop by and donate to this museum! It is a true treasure!
My son absolutely loved it!!! The mini replica was good for him to finally touch and play with it :)
now that was super fun! they even give us a 1983 newspaper as souvenir for free!
Love all the historical tid bits. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. And they even provide free refreshments! I would definitely recommend it for anyone who appreciates cars and/or history. ????
If you like history and cars this is the place to go wonderful place to visit
A wonderful inexpensive experience! Love the cars.
A great place for all ages of car enthusiasts! Took my 2.5 year old and he loved it. The main floor is fully accessible but the second floor (Canadian made cars) is up a flight of stairs, as are the washrooms. There are two cars that you can sit in - a large one at the front of thr museum and a small kids sized car on the second floor. The museum is very quiet to enjoy looking at / reading about the cars - some era appropriate background music would help to enhance the atmosphere of the museum!
Enjoyable experience to learn about the history of the Automotive industry. Lots of cars to admire, facilities do require updating. Overall highly recommended for car lovers.
History never was this much fun
So many cars! Amazing. You will love it.
Cute little Museum. My 4 year old loved it !!!
A little treasure in the middle of Oshawa
Great little car museum! Great collection!
Fun and informative. Our guide told many stories about the cars and the people who owned them. Well worth the visit.
Wonderful place to take the family!
Kids enjoyed the time spent and my 5year old got to see lightning McQueen
There is a need autoshow in town HVe some Interesting cars.some old cars.and some reL antique cars.thankyou The place .#hall# is not large enough to give each car its own ille. I personally ally cant see enough of it. Thanks .next time I come alone. To spend Moore time with each car..do t forget the video. Or Camera..eh ????????????????
Museum it’s small but it’s good idea bring a little one to go in the winter
Nice place to visit if you appreciate old cars. My son and I were there for about 2 hours.
Nice place to take the kids, 2 floors of vintage cars
I had a great time at this museum. They have a very nice collection of cars. I went with 3 of my siblings and they all had a great time as well.
Some cool things like a Delorian and some interesting back ground on canadian cars. Not very big and you might get an alergic reaction from the main floor.
(Translated) In addition to the car winds of Canadian production you can see here DMC (from the movie Back to the future) or Lightning McQueen (from the animation Cars). The museum would need a little more space, but it's worth a look. (Original) Mimo autoveterány kanadské výroby zde můžete vidět třeba DMC (z filmu Back to the future) a nebo Blesk McQueena (z animáku Cars). Muzeum by potřebovalo trošku více prostoru, ale stojí za to se sem podívat.
It's worth going to!!
I've visited many car museums across North America and Europe, and this is one of my favorites. Not big, but an exceptional collection, a labor of love. Several Rolls-Royce, a Bugatti, an Alfa 8C and a Kissell Gold Bug, among many others. The Gold Bug was a model once owned by Amelia Earhart, and the only car I've ever seen with slide out extra seats. There is also a lot of history about the Canadian car industry.
Located at Oshawa Downtown. They have some great collection of North American classic cars [please check my upload pictures]. I wasn't expecting to see a Delorean there. I wish they get more founding from the government to expand and renovate. The ticket price is just $10, so Please donate when you are there.
Small space but lots of vehicles to see here! They currently have a colouring space for kids with a full size lightning McQueen on display. They also have a small car that children can sit in. We had issues because we had our newborn sleeping in the stroller and the second floor is up a substantial flight of stairs with no elevator so we had to split up and take turns upstairs. The washrooms are also located upstairs so be aware. The lack of accessibility definitely put a damper on our visit.
Ok place. Not many vehicles on display and those were on display were just jammed in to a small building.
LOVED coming here w/ my niece to see Lightning McQueen. Staff is friendly & helpful. The layout and cleanliness of the place could use some work & updating but we really enjoyed it!
I'm a car buff so I like this place. Visit to keep the museum alive.
Great collection of old cars
Awesome display of antique cars! My grandson really enjoyed it
Great place to visit with the family. Don't have to be a car buff to appreciate Canadian automotive history.
Great educational spot to visit in Oshawa!
Nice verity of historic cars and friendly knowledgeable staff
One day left in Canada, staying with family in Oshawa, we visited this museum. It has a nice cillection of cars, both European as Canadian. Interesting stories told on signs.
(Translated) Mega scön the old cars (Original) Mega scön die alten autos
A little small but still a cool collection of cars. I like the fact that they are not all fixed up and pristine. There are nice ones and some that are a little beat up
Awesome place, lots of great cars and history.
This museum has many collection and fascinating
Unchaperoned tour over 2 floors. Interesting stop if you have an hour to kill in Oshawa. Photo opportunities
Awesome jewel with the most unique collection in Canada!
Too small place for cars. You cannot see them good.
This museum has a very good collection.. we like it.
(Translated) the cars are barely restored and the location is very very small. It is difficult to see the cars adequately. (Original) les voitures sont à peine restauré et l'emplacement est très très restreint. On peine à voir les voitures de manière adéquate.
Great place to take the kids
A HIDDEN GEM
Great piece of history, lots of good information to learn
A must stop for anyone who loves cars.
The tour is well worth the admission and you'll see vintage automobiles and trucks you have never seen before. Including pioneering Snow Vehicles and Trucks. It is family friendly and a great outing for something different. There's been many improvements made over the last few years so if you haven't been recently, go again and see what's new. It is something you'll always remember.
I like cars, so seeith their evolution was awesome.
Love this place. Took my son and his friends there. Tickets are reasonably price. Lots of classic car. 3xoect to spend about 1 hour there.
It's way to crowded not well set up to small a building
It was alright but the riff raff outside hounding you for spare change and the constant worry about your windows being smashed took the fun out of it.
I got the opportunity to visit once where it was very interesting.
Interesting!
(Translated) Small, fine museum. Unfortunately, there is not enough room to show all the exhibits. (Original) Kleines, feines Museum. Haben leider zu wenig Platz, alle Exponate zu zeigen.
Nice selection of vehicles from Canada's automotive history, some real gems here. Couple of downsides are that the place is pretty small and a lot of vehicles are crammed into one small building, that coupled with the poor lighting makes taking photos of most of the cars especially difficult. For the enthusiast though, its an interesting visit if only to read about some of the cars that were never available outside of Canada and there's a Delorian in there!
It was a lovely experience! Definitely worth visiting again.
Very informative. Greg provided a great tour
The museum was smaller than I expected, but worth checking out
Been here a few times now. The entry fee is reasonable and the staff are really friendly. Lots of cars to look at. A lot of parking.
Loved the museum. Its not that huge but good collection and staff was super friendly.Rhey were very welcoming..thanks fir the great time
It was an incredible experience for the young & the old! Lots of history to be learned and all of the cars on display are absolutely in top notch condition...and you can take pictures of/with them. Our entire family had lots of fun! The only point of concern is that I'm not sure that second floor is fully accessible.
(Translated) Being in Oshawa you can't miss this place. (Original) Będąc w Oshawie nie można pominąć to miejsce.
Great family outing. Not very expensive and a fun and informative place. Friendly staff and nice kids interactive sections
All these years wondering and I finally went into the Canadian Automotive Museum to see lightning McQueen for my son a lot of nice old vehicles they have in the Canadian museum their is quit the history behind a lot of the cars and where they are from few famous cars such as back to the future car and also Bonnie and Clyde car and more I highly recommend going in if you never been you can see and learn a lot about the automotive aspect also history behind Canada and other countries!????
The reason is that I just like looking at old cars.
Old old old cars but so so so well kept
Neat little place. Lots of history and most of the cars are in amazing condition for there age (some being from the late 1800's). Fell in love with the 1937 Buick roadmaster 60.
I loved every car here but I would come back just to see the Delorean. I am a huge Back to the Future fan.
I have driven by this place so many times. I am so glad I finally got a chance to see it. A real treasure. I will definitely go back again!
Interesting way to spend a couple hours
Great place...vintage cars
Nice little place with some of the amazing cars of its time. I loved the " build for Canada only " FORD FORTENAC, and at the same time my son was going nuts for the life size LIGHTNING MCQUEEN, FROM THE MOVEY CARS. It was a great afternoon with the family and I'll do it again and again.
Visited on Family day with my Husband and son, we had a great time! My son had an amazing time. Great place for car lovers to visit.
Over crowded!! Every inch is slammed with cars, half of them you can't even see because of the lack of space. The building smells musty and gross. The staff is useless and rude. It cost too much money for what it is. Lightning McQueen was cute but other than that, my kids were bored stiff. When you go upstairs, hold your nose when you walk by the bathroom! It smells terrible, like rotten sewage. They really need to upgrade to a more spacious location.
Great place,
Very informative, awesome variety of vehicles ????
Love it. Great place to see how the car first started
Seeing all different types of antique cars in one building is fascinating. My grandson was so excited to see the actual Lightning McQueen car at the Museum. We enjoyed the tour and the staff were extremely polite, helpful and friendly! Lots of free parking.
Love old cars and this museum has over 50... They need a bigger location to properly display all these historical beauties. The display and articles showing the history of cars from the beginning to today are very interesting, it's worth the time to read them. Great visit for car lovers of all ages!
Great car museum! Inexpensive annual membership.
To be fair, they are currently renovating, but I guess I expected more to see.
the kids loved the place. i really don't know why but 95% of the cars are RR. the kids didn't notice that of course.
We had an enjoyable day at the museum; took lots of pictures and our guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Time went by so quickly, before we knew it, it was already closing time. I recommend this museum for all car lovers, young and old...
