This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Park.
Wonderful place with spectacular views. The only problem was parking space. The only visitor parking that we found charges 50 boxes ????
As a photographer, I love the view here, and all the interesting things that people do there.
A beautiful day and a lovely weather calls for vacay. It was an impromptu decision to visit Couchiching beach park and the experience was on top of the world. Amazing atmosphere around, it's mostly a park cum beach. People kayaking, boating and enjoying in waters was a pleasant sight after a lockdown year. Getting a visitor parking might be stressful though!
Beautiful place to go but one of the person in the tourist information is rude. The security we met is very rude too.
$50 parking????, else $80 parking tickets because I am not resident of there out side of Canada city "orillia". Location very very very nice, but have seen 30 teenagers having smoking in park.
Beautiful park, great beach. We love that there's a dock you're allowed to jump/dive off of. Definitely worth the drive to spend the day here!
Really nice park, clean beach.. small but great.
Couch beach is beautiful and has quite a bit to offer. This is the one of the main park/waterfront areas in Orillia. It is easily accessible by vehicle or boat. This park is steps from the Port of Orillia where you can stay overnight in your boat, or launch it for a day trip. There is a wonderful park for kids to play complete with a rock climbing wall. There is a small swimming area with lifeguards as well as bathroom facilities and snack bar nearby. It's also a short walking distance to the downtown core where you can find great bakeries, shops and restaurants. There are lots of free parking spaces for vehicles and tailers as well as many picnoc rables and benches to use. The boardwalk along the waterfront is beautiful. This beach is great whether you bring the kids to the park and swim, or if you just want to enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk.
This is a fairly small beach but really good for smaller kids, the playgrounds have super soft and spongy flooring definitely a good safety feature for kids, the material they use does get a little hot in direct sun so I would definitely make sure the kids have their shoes on. When we were there was a fairly group of younger adults hanging out behind the old snack shack and they were getting a little wild even climbing the roof, I don't need to explain to my kids why someone is urinating in a plastic bottle on the roof of a building, I'm not sure if the park is patrolled that well. This did all occur after 5 or 6pm so it was later in the day I would assume if it had happened earlier lifeguards would have done something. Overall it is one of our favorite spots to walk it is well lit at night and there is lots of people around
Very nice and beautiful place for a picnic specially with your family. Beach area is small though.
Small beach. Well maintained. I'm giving it 5 stars because it is close to lots of amenities to make a family beach day a great day! A short walk from the beach for lunch or snacks at the hot food (burgers and dogs, etc) stand, a 10-minute walk to ice cream stand. Also has a canoe/kayak rental place and a fishing pier a few steps away. The marina is a short walk away too for a scenic stroll.
This beach is beautiful. During this Covid 19 era, as a visitor you will be charged $50 for parking per car. Besides that awesome place .
Awesome place for kids, nice beach with lifeguards, washrooms , nice playground!!
Had an amazing time. Good beach, clean bathrooms, free parking and great playground.
Really amazing park for the whole family. Water is placid, beach is very clean, spotless washrooms and changing rooms, ample parking (free), some historic heritage involved and a perfect place for a day picnic for the entire family.
Park is awesome but couldn't determine if there were bathrooms available as nothing was visibly marked.
Always take a quick stop here when I am riding my bike along the trails. Amazing place for friends and family to gather
Tons of benches despite the picnic tables being out of use right now. Lots of parking and no permits required at this time (we walk anyways but just a note). Well maintained and looking forward to the gardens later this spring. Excellent play structures and swings. No BBQing in the park allowed right now.
Beautiful Parks with Flowers, a lot of sitting Benches, Kids Play Ground, Small Sand Beaches, Boats, and so on so forth.
Pretty nice! Lovely place, much fun on the beach. Picnic tables. Little train is one of the attractions. Washrooms very clean. Plenty parking free. Disable access. Best park!
A great place for a beautiful summer picnic. The water is warm and the washrooms are well maintained. There is a play area for kids as well.
Was here for a Midway/Fair, had a good time. The place was kept clean and my son enjoyed swimming and the beach which was monitored by life guards.
Parking for visitors is 50 dollar flat even on weekday and for Orillia residents it's free. It feels so bad to be descriminated and looted in open. Either close it for outsiders ir make it fair when you guys are open. I travelled all this far to find this. Parked in a metro near to the beach. Water has lot of algae and Ai didn't swim. Park was well maintained and staff was friendly.
Has a casual trail for biking that I use for Pokemon Go (11 stops and a gym within 5 minutes), has a fairly large playground for children, a small skate park on the eastern end, and plenty of benches/tables to sit at while looking out over the lake.
We have a picnic here with dark sky. but still thinking the park should be a great place for BBQ or relax. Everything is good and well-equipped.
I really liked the park. Nice open space, great parking.. supervised swimming area, washrooms, picnic tables.. they even have a small kids railway station (which wasn't currently open).. & it wasn't very busy on a Tuesday.. they also have a nice hiking trail that connects with the park.
I only visited this beach once and planning on returning. This beach doesn't allow individuals to bbq or, let's say, no sort of fire hazard. There are many trees for shelter, so I would assume that you're not allowed to bring your tent. But you're allowed to bring your chairs. Other than all those restrictions, it's a fun park. Ps: for non-resident parking, it's 50 dollars. FYI: the parking areas near the beach are only for residents. So, outsiders, it's best to unload your vehicle near the beach and then go park because it's a bit of walking back to the beach area, which is ridiculous.
Beautiful place to share with your love one... Amazing lake view and very nice trail to walk, jogging or bike... amazing kids park and so many bench to enjoy the view...
Let me just say this first: I LOVE Lake Couchiching and city of Orillia!!! I am from Toronto, and I visit at least once a year. However, this business of charging people $50 for parking and $50 for boat launch is not fair. Plain and simple - It is PURE DISCRIMINATION!!! If this is public policy, all across the board, applicable to all lakes, rivers, boat launches, beaches in Ontario, I would not have liked it but then I would understand. But this is not the case. So how would citizens or Orillia like if Toronto and GTA implement fee for ALL residents of Orillia: $50 fee to visit GTA and $50 fee when leaving GTA??? And does not matter how they arrive, by car, train, plane…- just if you are from Orilia -bam $100 fee to you ! How would you like that? Actually, I think I will write to Ontario government and Mayor of Toronto to start this initiative Rating: One star because of DISCRIMINATION, otherwise 5+ stars
Beautiful park and charming address. Washrooms, life guard and snack bar make it great for relaxed stay.
Great family fun spot but beware! Huge parking issues... $100 a day and no visitor parking with 1.5 km radius... Wish they allow paid visitor parking in the resident parking lots...
the place looks absolutely nice but just a friendly reminder the parking fee is $50 flat rate for non-residents. I understand this policy is to discourage overcrowding and protect the locals but still feel like nature should be free to everyone to enjoy. Oh i think i’m too greedy and asking for too much…
Beautiful place with great view
Very nice Beach. I will be definitely coming back. But it does typically get crowded like every other Beach on the weekend so it's probably a better idea to come during the week
Very serene, clean and pretty! The beach is a bit small though but it's decent.
Beautiful Park (as long as you visit at the right times!) During the summer months in the evenings this park tends to overcrowd with teens and delinquents, but if you visit in the day it's a completely different spot! The playgrounds are all newly installed (the past few years) and is a wonderful place to take your children for a play/swim (just mind the water signs, the water isn't always safe for swimming!)
So nice today snow on the ground and the swans were doing there thing
Decent beach. Lots of space for families to have a picnic and kids can stay entertained at the playground.
What a beautiful park. We enjoyed strolling through it over the weekend and just gazing at the water and people watching. Well-maintained and very clean and spacious. Great way to spend the day.
A very nice and peaceful place. We went kayaking. we rented our kayaks from breath of fresh air staff were very helpful and kind. it was a good experience
Great little beach. The water is shallow and there are picknick tables for eating and a playground for kids.
Very nice small town, water dock good for kid swimming, and fishing at the opposite side.
I watched a beautiful sunset after raining yesterday. This park has too much to mention. Mimi train, historic site, new playground, theatre with snack bar , picnic pavilion, dock, ample parking, trails, connecting with downtown, surrounded by accommodations. Lake Couchiching is a medium-sized lake. Lake Couchiching is the small teardrop-shaped lake just north of Lake Simcoe.
The place is nice. However,Only visit if you want to get ripped off with parking. Visitor parking is apparently $50. Not to mention, signs to enforce paid parking are literally non existent. Received a $100 parking ticket. Be very careful.
Nice spot to relax in the summer and a great place to skate in the winter!
Lots to do. Lovely lakeside boardwalk. Great for kids
This park has a small beach that is very popular with the locals. One can park the car and walk 5 minutes across a grassy picnic area and a biking trail to the beach. The public washroom/change room is big and quite clean. There was a life guard when I was there. The life guars office is next to the washroom building. One can also rent yakak too. Im not sure how clean the water is because there is a big and busy marina next door.
We loved our time at couchiching Park. From the cute beach, the parks, the picnic area and cute shops which are such a close walk. We got ice cream and walked along the water. The beach is so clean and you can tell everyone does their part to keep it that way. This area is beautiful and much cleaner than a lot of other beaches around. We had a great time and can't wait to visit again!
If you're driving muskoka then explore the park. The beautiful lake looks like the toppings on the trees! ;)
Do not visit this place, there are many other good beaches to visit. 50$ Flat Rate per day for the PARKING and it's at long distance one. No other option. Closest ones are Free for local resident ONLY. City of Orillia Corporation, so selfish to visitors and parking tickets so beware to just park your vehicle, lack of parking meter around and small boards anyone can miss and fall in their trap to end up paying $80-$100 set fine.
Beautiful beach with a playground, biking/rollerblading path, boating, picnic tables, ice cream and hot dog stands, restaurants near by...lots to do.
Beautiful spot for a walk, run or to bring the kids. Very nice views and clean water.
What a great place! Lots of space, tons of waterfront, a terrific launch ramp, and a beautiful, newly completed boardwalk for your walking and viewing pleasure. Throw a frisbee, kick a ball, ride your scooter or jump off the dock and enjoy this place your way. Lots of shady spots to set up your family, and then enjoy the gardens and playgrounds. Orillia has done this up first class!
Beautiful little beach, calm, clean, clear shallow water and great for family with small children. There is a deck where you can jump in the water. So much fun! Life guards on site, a marina, washrooms, picnic area and playground. I will definitely go back... but not just yet because I do have to complain about something that does not make too much sense to me. Due to covid they did close all the parking lots near the beach/marina for visitors. The parking lots available are charging a flat rate of $50. Why? ???? it was quite a headache driving around and not finding a reasonable place to park. Other than that, a great place to visit.
Boo. 10$ a HOUR and 50$ a day for parking? Even downtown Toronto costs less. It’s almost like they don’t want tourists to come to Orillia. No problem, we we go spend our money in friendlier towns.
Amazing picnic spot. No charge for parking & picnic spot booked for free. Loved the place. Very close to beach & washroom is much cleaner than any picnic spot. One of the best.
Pretty place, lot of boats dock there and sailing by.. makes you really want a boat that you can’t afford ???? I was there before they implemented $50 for visitors but it was very packed, so I didn’t stay long. It sucks but I see where they are coming from to help control Covid brought in from other areas.
Great place has so many things to play for all ages kids. The beach is small but the playgrounds are amazing.
Great park with beach, changing room, washroom, and playground. Mainly, I like it here since it’s not crowded.
What a beautiful waterfront! It has a very nice beach area, an excellent park for the kids with a train ride, kayak rentals, band shell, boardwalk, decent public washrooms and change rooms. Well done Orillia!
Really good park!
Lovely place to take a walk, spend time with nature or meet with friends
Awful experience at Couchiching Beach park. Parking used to be free but is now $50 and BBQ on the grass is no longer allowed. The park has security guards that are super aggresive and very eager to give out tickets. I witnessed them writing a parking citation while someone was still in the car which was outrageous. The water is dirty and park itself is very plain. I would definitely recommend going to other parks/beaches in the area like Mara where it is much nicer, BBQ is allowed and parking is way cheaper.
Nice park for a quick stroke along the lake or for a picnic. No BBQs allowed.
Beautiful Beach and park in Orillia!!! Absolutely worth the visit, but for locals only during covid! Stay safe ????
Nice and quiet. Good place to relax. Not sure why resident parking permit is required
Would of given it a better score if they had of had parking for out of towners. Seems like only residents can park there. I get with COVID-19 and the lockdowns they were overwhelmed with people. We came to have lunch and ride the trail. We found a side street to park our car finally but not near the park. Won't be back anytime soon. They may want to give the gazebo a coat paint sometime. Loved that the washrooms are kept clean
our shore is so beautiful
Beautiful park! Really nice boardwalk to walk along in the summer. Definitely want to visit again soon!
Excellent picnic park and ample of parking space. Great place for outdoor gathering ( Don't forget to follow the Covid-19 Guidelines for outdoor gatherings). Respect the visitors and Support the local business.
Great park minutes away from downtown or any neighborhood for that matter! The boardwalk is vast and the view is beautiful. Kids playground is fully equipped with activities for different age groups. The park is well maintained. Only issue for visitors outside Orillia is $50 parking per day. We parked in downtown using metered parking to avoid the issue. Overall had a pleasant experience.
I love it here, it’s peaceful clean and my family and I always make a trip into town for some local goods at the end of our trip.
They charged us $50 for parking. The beach and water are almost clean. Although they charged a lot they don't control the crowd who just walk there and haven't paid. They washed bathrooms twice which is a good thing. They don't enforce social distancing and we had to ask people to keep their distance. If you're not a resident of Orillia you should park further although they were so many spots available closer to beach.
I wish I lived here. Excellent park for adults and children alike
Absolutely loved it. It has a boat launch, massive super green beautiful parks, beach. Kids have so much to do and so does adults. Absolutely loved it. The small ice cream shop was so good. 1 star less for the parking 50 dollars parking is a rip off.
Water is warm but dirty. A lot of people, the beach is pretty small.
Breathtaking views. Very good for kids. Safe swimming area
So 1st: Parking is an issue. Parking in any of the areas near the park is reserved for residents and as we arrived, people were getting tickets. The options to park is near a restaurant (50$ a day) or if you go into the downtown area, public P parking (still have to pay) or at the metro store (2 hours max). 2nd: The park is patrolled by police, so no BBQ in the park, keep your dog on a leash, no dogs on the beach. 3rd: For a Sunday, was fairly quiet. Lots of shaded grass areas to sit and lots of park benches, tables. 4th: If you picnic, lots of seagulls trying to steal your food!
Beautiful, well kept grounds. Lots of space, great playground. Large swimming area with a lifeguarded beach. Parking is limited on weekends.
Beautiful park and no parking at waters edge so everyone can enjoy the view.
The place really nice but people not too much we pay for the parking $50 in the visitor parkings but they still give us a ticket for $80 dollars soo o wouldn't recommend this place it was a really bad experience ????
Beautiful park, had a picnic dinner. Lots of space and picnic tables. Beautiful beach. Not very busy. ???? Lots of trees. A public dock, and lots of green lush grass!
Great fun place to take your kids out. The only negative about this place which takes out those 2 stars is parking. All the parking near by to the beach are reserved for residents and obnoxious prices for paid parking (flat $50). You have to walk for about 10 mins for paid parking.
Couchiching Beach Park includes the town dock and sandy beach areas that attract many to Lake Couchiching each summer. This beach park is a very nice place to bring family for swimming or picnic. BBQ or Propane not allowed - $ 300 fine by City of Orillia. The Rotary Train – Not operating due to the pandemic. Amenities: a swimming beach, a concession, flower gardens, picnic tables, pavilions, washrooms and fountains Paid parking available. Do not park at the resident permit only parking space where you will get fined.
What a lovely bike ride along the pretty Orillia waterfront. During the pandemic, it's 'resident only' parking on Fri. Sat. and Sun. but we live close by so it's easy to limit our visits to early weekdays. The views are lovely, the trails and washroom faculties are clean and the kids' play areas abundant. And Orillia itself - especially now with its "Streets Alive' artist's installation is a great place to shop or have lunch.
Nice view. Fairly short trail. Some tents around the park.
It's the perfect park to have a happy time with your family and friends.
The place was full of dog poo and it's not maintained well. Parking is flat $50 per car during week end. Nothing much to see.. I recommend visiting Berry beach. That's lovely.
Great Beach. Always very clean. Great place to take kids. Go early to avoid it getting busy
great park to spend a day with the family-- beach, playground, bike paths, etc. also has indoor washrooms.
Quiet and serene park.A small sandy beach. You can enjoy good picnic by the water. Overall amazing experience.
Nice beach and picnic area. When your finished swimming you can walk the beautiful boardwalk which begins the otherside of the pier.
If they trim the long seaweed from the docks and bring back barbecuing; the park would be a perfect place. Instead of asking travelers to take their burnt charcoal back, they need to install a designated dump bin. This will ensure rules are being followed and the parks will remain clean and safe.
Okay beach. If you are a non resident of Orillia you have to pay $50 for parking which is absurd and not worth it. You are better off going out of the town.
The park is nice and large but $50 a day parking for the weekend is way too expensive. When you add the fact that the water is not clean to enter you have to wonder why you are paying so much when you can go to a provincial park and have access to the water. For $15 you can access clean water or pay $50 to swim in the town of Orillia pee soup.
Beautiful day at the lake side park. Lots of benches line the waterfront. Great view from the shore. Large parking lot and easy access to launch your boat. Big play area with swings and climbing, many things to keep the children busy. Lots of shade.
They put visitor parking extremely far from beach and it's $50 flat fee for parking. I understand providing preferred parking for residents but this is absurd. Then charge $50 for a family from hours away to take their 15 month old to play in sand and playground. Find a better town to give your money to
Don't visit this place as there are many good beaches around. The water is very dirty and the park us having lots of bugs also beware about the parking. The parking is $50 per day and if you park in residential permits then $100 ticket.
the best, best and best. peace + amusement = heaven. i fall in love with this place. Whole source of water, nice garden and historical monuments and joy train.
Nice beach but they need to clean up a bit. Way too many spider webs and some dead birds as well which was extremely unpleasant.
