Great place to catch a sunset view!

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

Nice little hike up some rocks and grass. The view is absolutely spectacular on a clear day, you can literally see for miles in all directions. Nobody else was there when went and we were treated to an extra awesome surprise. A huge eagle had decided to sit and chill on the to of the monument. A woman was watching us from the roadside wondering why we all had our phones and cameras out, when she noticed the massive bird. She ran grabbed her camera from her house and came back only to scare him off...

Amazing panoramic view of Victoria

A-mazing views of the sunset! There's not a lot of parking available, no washrooms or playground area - it's not that kind of park. It's really just a small rocky area with uneven "stairs" for you to climb up to the top and enjoy the view. Watch your step while climbing up, specially if you're bringing young kids.

Walbran Park is a great place; I smoked a lot of weed up there in my college days back in the early 90's!???? It's a great place because it seems like not many people know about it, other than the people in the neighborhood; any time I go up there, I'm alone! Right now there are Scotch broom and Camas blooming; the yellow and purple give a real Easter feel! My favorite spot is a little park bench that you'll find if you walk up to the top where the stone pyramid is, then down the other side of the hill. There is a gnarly Arbutus tree right next to it, and a fantastic view! See if you can find it! I have a YouTube channel; in the next couple of weeks I'm going to post a video that will show you how to get to that park bench! Check out my channel and subscribe so you don't miss it! My channel is "Gord Chapman". And definitely check out this park, and have fun finding it!????

The views from the top of ether of Walbran Park's two peaks are breathtaking on a clear day. Looking northeast Mount Baker forms the backdrop to the gulf islands and the strait, the whole eastern shore or the Saanich peninsula is often visible. Approach by road if you're looking to avoid a steep climb.

Great view in a lovely residential area

You can have a nice view of the southern coast of Victoria from up on this park. Walk around the path to the bench below the old weather office building. From here you can look down into McNeil Bay and Gonzalaz Bay. Lots of parking and a short walk. Some uneven rock for those who are more adventurous.

Beautiful view. Kind of a B**** to find.

It's the top of Gonzales Hill, the highest spot in the city of Victoria, well, Oak Bay. Superb views of things local and at great distance. Vancouver's North Shore mountains, Mounts Baker and Rainier. The Olympics. Just about out to the mouth of the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Race Rocks. Victoria's Inner Harbour, the Empress, Government House on Rockland. It's a large scale hilltop example of coastal Douglas fir dry land forest with Garry Oaks, firs and Arbutus, right in town.

This park is located at the top of Gonzales Hill. There is an observatory. There are many different viewpoints where one can see all over Victoria. There are several ways up and down Gonzales Hill including a set of steps that go off of Denison, a set of steps that lead from the observatory down to King George Terrace, and one can take Fairfield Place and then the small path that leads up to the park. One could also take a couple of the other roads that lead up to the top of Gonzales Hill. Whatever route you choose to get up here it is worth a visit.

Waldron Park, much like Anderson Hill, isn't the most accessible sunset location for tourists in Victoria due to lack of buses. However it offers two lookout points that are very close together. One lookout point is a set of stairs while the other requires a bit of rock climbing which leads to a pyramid monument. These two spots offer a 360 degree view of the island. If you're good with lots of walking, I recommend this park!
