We've got all the reviews of real people who purchased the products of Fundy Geological Museum (Tourist Attraction) in Nova Scotia (Canada).
At the present the business has a score of 4.5 out of 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is nearly the highest, and it is based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the score is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Museum.
Loved the display of the land masses of Pangaea over time showing Parrsboro & Morocco over geologic time
Incredible easy to understand displays. Well laid out.
The Fundy Geological museum is a great, interactive museum. Especially great for kids. They can paint, read, ‘find’ fossils etcetera. This was one of the most interactive musea in Nova Scotia. You can also see people working with fossils trough a window. Great experience for young and old.
This was honestly one of the best tour experiences I’ve ever had. The museum is small, but truly outstanding. The staff was helpful and enthusiastic. The beach tour was amazing. We had 2 guides, and they pointed out many fossils, minerals, and shared the fascinating geological history of the region with us. I felt they went above and beyond the description of the tour, and their passion for their field of expertise really showed. I would recommend the beach tour to anyone who wants to know more about the fascinating history of this area! Besides, walking on the ocean floor is beyond cool!!!
So amazing to see how many different types of rock formations and gems that are right here in Nova Scotia! Alex was an amazing tour guide; cant wait to tell other to check out this great museum when visiting Parrsboro!
Pretty neat place. Not very big for the price you pay. You can read everything and see everything in here in less then an hour.
It has a lot of history, but it would have been nicer to see it bigger
Intersting place
BUYER BEWARE! My low score is because I purchased $80+ of souvenirs from the gift shop, which included two Ecocubes for ~$12 each plus tax. They were gifts for my niece. The Giant Bamboo is growing as it should but the Palm is not sprouting at all after a few months of daily sun and following all of the instructions carefully. It's very sad for my niece and disappointing for me. Silver lining: The museum itself is small but has a great flow and good resources (informative). Response to business: I live in Toronto Ontario and wont be visiting NS until 2023 or later.
Wonderful geological museum, very friendly gift shop too.
If you have younger children who are interested in dinosaurs this is a great spot to check out while in Parrsboro. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We even picked up a few souvenirs from the gift shop. We all learned a lot of interesting things about our Province that I previously had no idea about. There are a number of informative historical videos and displays that are worth while taking the time to watch. My 10 year old daughter really enjoyed this stop and I am sure yours will as well. Worth the visit without question ????????
Ok. Not really great for the kids but they were amused by some things. I found some of it interesting but could have been more.
Are you fascinated by rocks? by dinosaurs? by fossils? are you grateful when museums include the teachings and stories of Mi'Kmaq people? The Fundy Geological museum is a smaller museum packed with more information than most of us will retain. Covid protocols are in place and lots of the hands-on stuff is completely Hands-Off, at least in the summer of 2021. There are some paths and sights outside as well as inside, a small gift shop and clean, roomy, accessible washrooms.
Small but mighty! This place packs a wealth of information in a compact space. Having been to some big geological and natural history museums, I admit I was pretty skeptical when we pulled into the parking area. But I was immediately blown away by how thoughtful and clever the space was used to deliver a hard hitting punch of geological and natural history education. Don’t miss this!
A great little museum with a wealth of educational content! The museum has changed over the years and I appreciate the latest update! They have enough appeal for all ages ( a craft activity station for kids and a dinosaur dig sand pit) and dinosaur decor everywhere! There is a location where you can watch fossils being prepared and they have a beach tour as well! You can also go out to their dig site a few times in the summer but the prices are quite steep. Gift-shop has a lot of fun things but I wish they had more personalized items ( such as shirts featuring the local dinosaurs, not generic shirts with the museum name printed on the sleeve)
Very knowledgeable. Shame you can no longer keep what you find. You are not even supposed to be able to take fossils up to museum for identification. Sad!
Amazing little museum
Our tour guide was brilliant. Tour was informative and well done. Thank you!
Small, but very interesting. My kids loved the museum.
What a great little museum! They are routinely adding to it, since the fossils excavation occurs nearby and the fossil cleaning occurs in a room you can look in on. Great for children, as there are many items to touch and little activities all over the museum. Plus, if it's quiet, you can get a guided tour from the employees who personally brother in some of those fossils!
Great place to visit if you are in the area.
Interesting place, but perhaps I expected more. 30 minutes is a sufficient tour here.
Good informationens, especially about this region.
Great staff, awesome exhibits. We try to go every couple years with the kids, youngest loves the dinosaurs.
We absolutely love going here with the kids, wonderful learning experience, very hands on, and the staff is amazing!
Wonderful trip there. A lot of efforts from the institution.
Small, but very high quality exhibits. Lots of interesting information for older children and adults, as well as hands on activities for younger children.
Great spot not as much as I thought would be there and couldn't touch anything but great display.
Although it is cheap to get in... They don't have much in the way of dinosaur... It take maybe 15 minutes to see and experience everything.
Had a great time at the museum!! Thought there would be a bit more to see but was still very educational about rocks, tides and the history about the area. Took all of 30 mins to go through. Recommend the stop if you are going through the area
Nice place and great for the kids. We really enjoyed doing a beach walking tour looking for dinosaur bones!
Small but cute. Informative and fun
Awesome place to learn about the geological history of our region. Lots to see and a few activities for kids. Great gift shop with a variety of things to choose from. Staff is friendly.
Had no idea Nova Scotia has such a hidden gem.
Awesome look at geologic history.
This was a cool spot to stop. Was simple, but the displayed were well done. Enjoyed my stop here
Great spot to take the kids when the weather isn't the best. Small but the kids had fun looking for bones in the pit.
Small, free of charge, more interactive exhibits than actual fossils but we liked it. This would be an excellent place to visit with small kids, say 4 to 6yo because it has just enough "stuff" as a 4 to 6yo attention span can handle. And the dinosaur sculpture in front of the museum is ADORABLE.
Exhibits are good information, but the stellar parts of the collection should be highlighted better.
Amazing to learn about Pangaea, dinasaurs and the Fundy gemstones.a very good educational tour for adults and children alike.
Really nice place to go with kids (or adults). Learn about rocks, ancient animals and more
Awesome trip to the Geological Museum, thanks so much to Danielle for the tour. This would be fascinating for all ages, with plenty of interesting information for adults and fun activities to keep kids excited too!
Great museum. Excellent displays of and descriptions of NS geological history. Staff was very helpful.
Small museum offers a glimpse into the geological past of the bay of Fundy. Plenty of parking and a reasonable fee. One hour or less will suffice to see all.
Cute museum, inexpensive, highly recommend the short visit.
Great museum, full of interesting displays. Great place to learn about the history of the bay of fundy and its treasures
Great little place. Took my son he loved it
Nice place, good souvenir shop, staff are friendly
Great experience. Very knowledgeable friendly staff. I highly recommend going here for all ages.
Friendly staff. Fun exhibit. Really nice dinosaur sculptures throughout.
Was really small and not to many real fossils
Great little place. Had a fabulous time. Amazing staff !
Was a great visit. Small museum and geared towards a younger crowd. They have a nice gift shop that has many different rocks from around the bay of fundy (lots of amethyst), local books, kids toys, rock tumblers, photos, etc. The museum is all basically on one level and does not take much time to go through. They have a geology lab with a viewing window so kids can see geologists working on artifacts.
Although small, this museum had excellent signage and enough to keep everyone entertained for 30 minutes or 2 hours depending on how involved you want to be. A mixture of interactive exhibits and knowledgeable staff make for a highly enjoyable experience.
Not very big, but the kids loved it. Also there was a reptile show there when we went but I am not sure if that is a regular thing or not.
A really great museum for a quick visit. Lots of information thou, you can either spend 10 minutes if you just look at stuff but, you can be there for an hour if you read and learn all the interesting facts about Nova Scotia and his geological richness. You're going to learn not only about the Canadian dinosaurs but, also about some cool and beautiful rocks that you can find in the region (Bay of Fundy) and in Nova Scotia. Our kids were amazed and we were too, really well organized and maintained museum. Now with COVID-19 it is sparkling clean and with some different security measures so, please call ahead or book online to make sure you won't lose your time. It is not their fault, they're just doing the right thing by being cautious about the situation. And for dog owners, they have a small fenced area on a tree shade that you can lock your dog while you're visiting. That's for small dogs only thou. I saw a bigger wooden fence but, not sure if it was part of the museum.
I saw so many great things here. There were so many cool dinosaurs all around the museum. The staff were super kind and helpful! They have a cute gift shop with all sorts of neat trinkets (including small dinosaurs all kinds of rocks and books on both). I recommend this place for people of all ages!
Definitely a hidden gem! Cool to learn about the interesting and unique geological features in the Fundy area.
Fun place to take the kids. Lots of very interesting facts to learn.
Not a bad place to stop for kids! Nice place to support especially if you love geological findings and dinosaurs!
A wonderful Nova Scotia Museum! Be prepared if you are visiting for the first time; this is a small Museum. There are very few exhibitions and with covid still in effect there is nothing interactive that the kids can touch or play with. Make sure you take part in one of their guided tours to get the full effect and make the most of your experience. Our tour guide was Reagan and she was wonderful! We learned so much from her and look forward to returning to do a different tour. Absolutely loved the gift shop. Lots of Nova Scotian crafts. Not too many toys... Exactly the kind of gift shop that I like :)
I was expecting more from a geological museum. It's a small place with minimum items to see or read. With the richness of Nova Scotia's geology and fossils this museum should be much more than quick 40 minutes tour.
This was a highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. It is a hidden jem that we would not have known about if it was not for the Visitor Centre on the border between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Wonderful exhibits. Loved the lab that was visible through the glass.
The curator took his time to answer my kid's questions and in a way that they understood.
Thorough display of the geological development of the Earth, and specifically Nova Scotia. Also highlighting the dinosaur fossils discovered in the area. We went through it in about 90 minutes.
Great time line of the geological history of our planet and ask the minerals to be found in Nova Scotias
excellent museum. great for kids. so much to learn about the geology of the area.
Learned a lot about history.very nice
Interesting and fun museum to visit if your in town. It's quite small. Some of the aspects of the tour were not working properly. They have painting activities and other things for kids. Lots of local artifacts and history.
Love to visit learn a lot many things to see staff friendly young ladies explained in detail about the fossils
Excellent gift shop and workers! Lots of tours as well !
Lovely,enjoyed exhibit
The guide was helpful and informative. The afternoon beach walk was well done. The boiling tide was fascinating.
Nice place for a quick visit, nice gift shop
Helpful, informative staff. Even gave us directions to get us back on our way!
The children can't touch displays that say "touch me" literally. Covid suks.
Great museum if you are into rocks or just pebble collecting. Good for all ages.
Very good place to visit. Very enjoyable for kids and adults. Would recommend seeing it.
Big signs out front saying it's free come on in... I went inside and was asked if I had a reservation? I didn't find them extremely enthusiastic to see me. It's a pretty small museum.
Fascinating displays including an inter-active display that actively displays the continents thru millenia
Great museum with great people and activities!
A must place to see the geological history of nova Scotia . You will not be disappointed.
Pretty meh, See some rocks and a dinosaur statue.
Great for kids, awesome for your inner nerd!
Great little museum with fossils, rocks and dinos. My 6 and 14yr olds loved it!
I loved it there
From dinosuars to diverse geological history, this is a great exhibit with lots of information and stuff to get your hands on. Highly reccommended.
Friendly staff, Didnt have alot but what they did have was very interesting :)
Lucked out and the curator gave us a tour. Learned a lot in a short time.
An informative museum that has many exhibits on geology and dinosaurs. A great place to visit on a rainy day or with kids. Despite the whole museum exhibit area being no bigger than three whole gyms, they used the space very well with every corner and available area packed with information and interactive exhibits. There is also a window that you can peek into the lab and see what an actual geologist is doing. Despite it being a Saturday, someone was in there washing the sediments from the rocks. There is also a small gift shop by the entrance. Lots of parking available.
Very nice! But VERY small. We were in the area and stopped in. I really enjoyed it, but had I actually made the trip solely for the purpose of visiting the museum, I would have been disappointed
Very small but educational, as I leaned Nova Scotia has this rare tile of Rock Soup. Nice place to spend time in a rainy day...
Very informative hands on for all age group. Would highly recommend it for children of all ages
4th visit. Small but very interesting museum
Really cool place to visit. Learned a lot and a great View.
Fantastic and the guide spoke both languages .We'll be going back.
Very informative! Military members get in for free.
Very cool spot to go learn about local geology and they also have a great boutique where the sell various rock tumbling supplies, crystals and much more.
Interesting showcase of Nova Scotian geological history. We enjoyed the guided tour especially.
Excellent visit the beach tour was a lot of fun, will book a longer tour the next time we visit.
