Excellent small, locally run operation. We had a great time, our guides Cai and Talston were fantastic. The dogs were well looked after and provided is with a great trip around the lake. Equally as fun was sitting around afterwards learning the history and culture enjoying bannock served with hot chocolate! Highly recommended!!!

Had a fantastic experience dog sledding with the team at Tugah! The dogs were obviously loved and cared for, plenty of time to interact with them before and after our run with Taltson and Cai, then to top it off hot chocolate and bannock by the fire in the lakeside cabin and very informative talking with Scott and Taltson about indigenous and northern life. Great local family run business, easily 5 star experience!!

This was such an amazing experience to cap off our time in Yellowknife. The ride over the frozen lake was so peaceful, as the dogs happily led the way surrounded by gorgeous winter scenery. Taltson, our musher, was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped us get to know the dogs beforehand by telling us their names and personalities. Afterwards, we enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate and freshly baked bannock in the cozy log cabin decorated with family treasures and traditional heirlooms. In our conversation with Scott (who is a great storyteller!), we learned about his family's generations-long passion for dog sledding, the importance of dog sledding in Northern cultures, and the origins and etymology of Yellowknife. The word "indigenous" seems to be thrown out there a lot in the local tourism agencies, but it is clear that this family business actually has deep roots with the indigenous culture and cares deeply about its preservation. I would definitely recommend dog sledding with Tugah to anyone visiting Yellowknife!

Jordie and her brother were amazing. We learned all about the dogs and their family history. You can tell that the dogs are extremely well taken care of. We got to interact with the dogs and they were loving life. Their history from their grandfather running the dogs to their parents to now the children was great. It is wonderful hearing the love these kids have and the pride they have taking over a family business. I would highly recommend this outfitter.

Had a great experience dog sledding.. the best part that made the experience more awesome was the fact that the owners rescue abused or mishandled puppies and dogs and train them and give them a great life where they get to run wild and be rewarded with more love... all the puppies and dogs are well behaved and excited and well trained... wish them all the best!

What a wonderful experience! We were greeted by the friendly staff members and owners, before being invited into a beautiful old cabin, where we warmed up and were given a brief background of the family's history. Next we were brought out to meet the dogs, help to harness and get them tied on, and then we were whisked away in a long sled, kept warm by good spirit and big feather blankets. We had a magical ride around Kam and Keg lake, portaging across the land, and hearing stories from our "driver" about racing and their dogs. We ended the day gathered in the warm cabin, learning about their history and culture, and eating delicious bannock and hot chocolate. We would absolutely visit again, and highly recommend this experience to Yellowknifers old and new. Amazing! 10/10 (and yes, the dogs were super happy and adorable).
