Maybe call ahead. Im sad to say that it was closed at 1pm on a Wednesday. Maybe it's seasonal? I dont want to give it a rating since I didn't go in but I can't make a comment without it. From what I've heard there's some good stuff in there.

We hail from Edmonton and were so pleasantly surprised with the museum. It's wonderful history up North and the staff was so nice, it was like a custom tour for free. Just simply wonderful.

The Hay River Museum and Heritage Society has an amazing wealth of static displays, books, photos and historical artifacts in the Museum in the Old Town. Very knowledgeable staff are there to show you around and answer your questions.
