Good park for picnic, they have sport events going on most of the time for entertainment. There is cricket ground and soccer ground. Washroom was little dirty, and it didn't have mirror lol. But overall a good park to throw a picnic.
Great park! Nice trails, streams and great views of the reservoir. However, I would not advise esp. you are alone to hang out after the dark though inside the park as it does become sketchy and feels desolate.
A large park with a beautiful walking path (about 5 km), and a river with several small bridges. There is a sports club for cricket and football and also washrooms.
Perfect time for winter walk through the Reservoir all the way to the West Don River around the park
Really big park with plenty of space to chill at. Lots of parking options and tables. I like how they have the trash and recycling bins at the parking lot so you can throw everything out on your way out.
Nice trail for a stroll. Perhaps not as suitable for toddlers since there were a lot of bikes. We were there in early August, and there were a lot of insects. Bring your insect repellent if you visit in summer.
This park will maintained ground and parking facility. This excellent place for family good place for jog , walk ,cycling and small dog park.
Nice view but the river was bad smelly and looks dirty
G Ross Lord Park is our favourite park in the area. Excellent parking facility. Our dog loves the dog park and the trails are well maintained throughout the year.
Very refreshing and good walk where the trail can go through wooded area then onto Dufferin St and Steeles Ave intersection.
Great area for a picnic or just a nice strall. Walkways are paved. Beautiful trees and a creek to make the walk that must more enjoyable. Lots of birds and squirrels. The park gets very busy in the summer so ensure to come early or there sometimes is no parking. There are several parking lots so if the first lot is full, keep driving! Also, no fees to have picnics
Pros: Good place to bike, skate or walk a dog. There are some picking tables. Free parking Cons: Not really interesting for hiking and enjoying the nature. Big part of the park is just a soccer field.
Nice location for a stroll.....it has a reservoir wich provides a calm spot to sit on it's bank. Good for cycling or to take your pet for a walk as well. Just be careful about the insects near the water body.
Love this beautiful place ???? It becomes 5 stars because they have a dog park now ????????????
Really nice. Beautiful landscape, nature. Great little trails. Peaceful early mornings and evenings. Gets really busy on summer weekends. Has a dog off leash area.
This place is awesome and beautiful to go on a walk or have a BBQ with family or friends. It is a huge park and has a lot of parking available. It has great trails and different path to explore. It has lots of fields to play soccer or frisbee or cricket. I find this place to be a top park to spend time with family and friends. It's clean has washrooms and is big enough. Depending where you park there is different things available so I suggest explore the park and decide which are fits best your needs.
The parking lots have become a busy place (in all our park system, really), at least on these increasingly sunny Spring days were having! Seems the pandemic has caused a big shift in what and where we can hang out at the end of the work day. Thankfully, the patios are opening up again for those of us Cardinal-watchers who like to go (regardless of COVID) but can no longer find a parking spot. It's brought out the newbie photogs with their big old-school cameras and heavy boots who in their enthusiasm to 'get that great shot', go charging towards the birds only to scratch their collective heads, wondering where they went, or why their luck or timing "is off". It was funny at first, but now it's just become an eye-roller ???? and a deterrent, if only temporary I'm sure. Good selection of trails and many park components to explore. It's a super wide open space to get your exercise. Soccer fields (even Bocce ball courts!) that are well-maintained, paved paths that run off in all directions for both walkers and cyclists, over hills and dales galore. It won't be long before the yoga groups stretch over, once the lawns take on that ultimate lush green hue. GRL is a good spot to go if you're planning to spend a little time there, to do a lot of walking and commune with nature - so don't forget to bring water for you AND your dog. There are picnic tables spotted about, some with and the occasional grill for those who are looking for the family 'al fresco' experience.
Very clean nice park. Good fishing spots. Seem to have Carps in the area. Nice place for walks.
Nice enormous park. Well maintained and has indoor sports space as well. Washroom was well appointed. Due to covid, area was being patrolled by police which was good. There are available trails and i love the off leash dog park where we also bring our dog.
Nice park, decent dog park, various dog sizes. At times it gets busy, random times. There are also trails for. Walking
Nice place to walk or bike or ski where is enough snow. We are lucky to have it in our neighborhood. You can also watch birds there.
Beautiful trails and nature walk. I definitely recommend it for anyone living in the area
A beautiful place for picnic which has plenty of parking spots and a dog park. I give it 3 stars just because of I was expecting the trails and walking with my dogs, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. Besides it’s a little bit crowded on weekends.
One of the best cricket grounds in Toronto. The parking facility is good. They have two pitches for cricket and small indoor changing room as well. The permit prices are very reasonable. You can go out on a picnic with family too! It’s nice park!
This is a big park with 3 parking lots. However it is not enough on a nice summer weekend. The lots were full! People were enjoying the sun, picnics and barbeques. There were also amateur sports tournaments happening. Soccer and cricket field in the park.
Great walking trails. Lots of free parking. Visit the dog park.
This place covers a huge area and has many things - fields, playground, water streams, dam, reservoir, jogging track, different trails and so much of nature. I go their to walk regularly and cover different parts.
Great park for a leisurely stroll. It's relatively larger than most parks, so more room to explore. Loved the amphitheatre and the Holocaust memorial.
A nice park to spend your time barbecuing with your friends and family. Free parking space and 3 fields (2 cricket - matting wickets and 1 football)
Litter. Everywhere. I've never been to a Toronto park with so much litter (especially within the forest area). It makes me sad that even among all the green plants and flowers, it's still impossible to get away from human destruction. This is not only a public park but it is also a home to many animals. Imagine being a tourist and seeing this. I figured after Earth Day there would have been a change but unfortunately not. Clean up your park and have volunteering events to help! (These photos are closer to the Finch/Dufferin end of the park. The park is pretty big and the opposite side with the horses is clean).
Loved it here, biking was fun, lots of parking spots around the area. Funny face on a log with a hat on it. saw a little pig running around which was great. A lady had two cats in a carriage and walking a dog as well, very cute. Lots of friendly people walking around but enough space for you to enjoy biking as well.
Very nice park with lots of nature
The park has many office tables and several BBQ grills, perfect to spend a good afternoon with the family while you cook something on the charcoal fire, it has an area to play baseball and the bathrooms They are always clean .
Parking was full. The park service people were great. We made sure to clean up after ourselves but so many people were leaving the picnic site dirty. Many mosquitoes (bring proper bug repellent)
This is a very beautiful park of you want to witness the fall colours of Canada in all it's glory. I've hiked far and wide this fall and this park is just behind my condo. Loved the simple walk and the breathtaking views that accompany it.
Great park for walking and cycling, spacious parking lot is a bonus.
Well maintained public park in Toronto. Nicely landscaped. Public restrooms. Lots of parking. Several cricket and soccer fields (may require reservation permits). Great for picnics and family outings. Gets busy during summer weekends and holidays. Enjoy...
Love the place. Accessible, paved paths, tucked away in nature. Very easy to diverge and get a little more immersed in the greenery. That being said, IT IS A COYOTE HABITAT.
Beautiful paved pathways for walking or biking. There are also benches along the paths and picnic tables closer to the parking lot.
More than adequate length of paved and off road trails. Forested. Wild life witnessed some times are deers, coyotes, fox, squirrels, racoons, rabbits, chipmunk, skunks, lots of birds, Canada geez. Unfortunately, the forest also contain numerous dead and fallen trees. A Play ground at the South East of the park. Several soccer fields, a couple of cricket field. Picknic tables, benches and some street lighting. A dam, a small lake, a river and several pedestrian bridges. Parking lots access from Dufferin Street.
Best place in this area. Ever met coyote, snakes, toads ,deers here. Lucky for living close to this park. Lots of hidden trails you can explore with your children. My son enjoys exploring this park every day.
We had a camp fire and the worker just came put it out without an explanation then telling us that our music was too loud with an angry tone. He was so unpleasant. But we didn't care the day was almost over we just packing our stuff and left. I don't think I might go back there. But it's a nice park.
Beautiful and well maintained. Lots of amenities. Police were accessible within the park which is good as it's huge, in case of emergency. Snack bar is not open during the week.
In my opinion one of the best parks in North York. The park is huge, and has many entrances with amenities for everyone, whether you wanna play cricket, soccer, football, cook some bbq, or just let your dog run free at off leash park. The nature is beautiful, with plenty of trees, flowers, birds, or other animals like coyotes, deers, snakes and more!
A week after the biggest snow dump in years and it was grey. Went along the east side trail to Steeles, then along Steeles sidewalk to the west side trail entrance. The snow on the east side trail was cleaned, but not on the west. The loop is about 6km.
the park itself if amazing - it has everything you need for every taste. There are soccer fields, paved trails, hidden trails, river with bridges, lots of birding spots, feeders, playground, benches. The place is full of animals.
Sick of staying home during the pandemic? This is the best place for a stroller, especially by the afternoon
it's a great park not too far from the city to enjoy sports and hikes' there's also a bike trail that passes through it. picnics and bbqs are often held here. I've always enjoyed being in the vast nature of this park.
This park is huge with lots of activities to do. I went to watch a cricket match. There I saw two well managed cricket grounds. Charcoal BBQ, parties and lots of other activities were going on. There is an area for the dogs' party, mating or whatever you call it. There might be other parks of similar kind but I saw it for the first time.
One of the best park of TO that you can enjoy all at once like plain, hill, ponds, BBQ, etc.
