Always a good hike ! Plus beautiful ????????☝????

Laurie Woods has a great old-soul and also provides a magical feeling to it. There's no other place that can bring such strength to the emotional toll we seem to all face in life. Especially now, having to much to worry about. This is the best place I know to clear my head and actually know it's really clean habbital air, with no one around or maybe just your children. The enlightenment, brings forth only what nature's nature was intended to give, which is obviously a peace of life.

A peaceful and short walk that anyone would enjoy

Rukshan Rupasinghe

There are many hikes through mashes and hills. It takes about 2 - 3 hours to complete the hikes. Parking is available.

Cheyenne V

Nice easy trails to hike however the noise from the construction company next door ruins it sometimes

Well maintained, and not overly used. One of the best places for a quiet walk in nature in the City. Almost no effort if you walk the first loop. Trail is wide and flat pretty much throughout. The second, further loop out to the lake overlook is more challenging but worth it if you don't mind a narrower, lesser used trail. I've ran, walked and trained here many times. And in Fall, when the leaves are right is my favourite time to be here.

Saylor Weaver

This places offers walking trails for any level of hiker with some stunning views.

Trails are always well maintained and the scenery is great (just look away from the junk yard). What could be better than direct access to some great nature trails right in town. Always feel gracious we have access to a place like this right here at home.

Located in the heart of the city, the 97 hectare (240 acre) Laurier Woods encompasses a provincially significant wetland, rocky outcrops and upland forest; and is a sanctuary to a broad range of wetland and woodland creatures, including migrating birds. Well done Mattawa Conservation Department.

Mihaela Brenner

Amazing trails and views

Nicholas Burton

Clean maintained trail's bags available for dog . generally not busy.

Always a good time !! But can be pretty busy at peak times especially with lockdown.

Jackie Manella

I love this place and everything about it! As a conservation area within the city it is a great place to take some time to slow down. It is also managed by some amazing people and there are a couple of clubs that run nature based activities there (Friends of Laurier Woods, Nipissing Naturalist Club). The trails are maintained primarily by a club member, (Ron) and is a sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife. It is primarily a wetland with boardwalks as well as trails through forested areas, and all kinds of birds, beavers, amphibians, turtles, deer, foxes, snowshoe hares and more call this beautiful place home. There is parking off Brule street (which is off of Franklin) and foot or bike access at the end of Laurier Ave.- although some people park there too. Great place for nature enthusiasts, hiking, mountain biking, kids, dogs (on leash) birding or nature spotting in general. I love it in here!

C FROSTIES

a nice nature walk on trails

Sythe Muscat Mutterings

A great spot for a walk and the proposed boardwalk is now built. Spent a little over an hour walking around here, lots of benches to sit and enjoy the area. Unfortunately, and not through the fault of the park at all, there is a dump next to a part of this park, which ruins the view in that area.

Steve A

Been in North Bay almost 35 years and never knew this beautiful nature park existed. Must say first time I did get lost in the forest. Thank goodness for the small parking lot signs, I found my way out.

Rob Eady

Lots to see lots of wildlife. Great place to bring your kids to explore and check out the outdoors

Alex Solty

Alexander McKenna

Great walking area you could bring everyone here for a fair amount of the paths. A large chunk of the area has a wood deck like path that could accommodate people of all paths. Bugs are not too strong unless it just rained

Our family goes to Laurier Woods most every day to reconnect with each other and our wider relations. Off the very well maintained central loop (orange) there are trails where we go to visit with beavers (yellow), turtles (purple), and deer (red). We love watching the big little changes, as reeds grow out of and above dried reeds from the year before, etc. Membership is not required, but is a little way that we support the amazing work of volunteers.

They actually patch up problem spots. It's well grown in but the paths are still very wide - its beautiful

Love coming here with my children. Great trails to bike or walk through. Maintained all year. Two entrances and lots of parking space.

Pelle Agerup

Nice trail through birch and water landscape. Beavers and birds. Too bad with the noise from the scrapyard and roads.

Zack Lewis

Well-kept trails, boardwalks and a great location for photography. On sunny days, you might see a turtle or two sunbathing by the dock.

Great set of trails in some varied settings, right on the edge of town. All easy going so good for a leisurely stroll and for all ages. My 4-year old loves adventuring in here. No facilities, so come prepared. It does get very buggy in the summer, so dress accordingly. Trails are in good shape year-round.

Perfect place to unwind and soak up all of natures benefits. Make sure you bring bug repellant with DEET TO KEEP SANE WHILE THE MOSQUITO and BLACKFLIES munch on your blood.

My 2nd favorite trail I've used in the North Bay area. This trail is great, filled with spectacular views, trails that are mapped out and clearly showing direction, along with sporadically placed resting areas complete with benches or picnic tables. Being in the heart of the downtown area, this trail offers a step away from the busy city, and a piece of natural serenity. Although this trail is highly used, it is well maintained, and for the most part, quite easy to walk through.

I thought this place was suppose to be nice and quiet, but when I was there it was the complete opposite. Screaming people everywhere. It would of gotten 5 stars but guess what? People have to ruin everything.

Natasha Pilon

Really nice trails. There are some trails that are not well marked, but it would be very difficult to get lost. There are a lot of places to sit and opportunities to see wildlife. We saw a painter's turtle, cranes, ducks and a snake. I would recommend going late summer / autumn since you are in a marsh area (lots of mosquitos in the spring).
